Enjoyed an excellent 4 nights at Glen Glack in Juniper. The setting is amazing and we were blessed with sunny, crisp weather.

Not criticism but hopefully to aid improvement . The cabin is lovely . The accompanying information appears to be generic to all the estates properties . Hence we could not find the heating controls - until the last day hidden behind books- so the property was on the chilly side until we fired up the woodburner. A call to the estate office on arrival regarding this went unanswered.Rubbish and recycling is meant to be put in outside bins on departure- we couldn't find them anywhere so again just left a message to inform where we had left things. The kitchen area - the plates etc are on a high shelf as there is hardly any cupboard space . Being 5 ft 2 I couldn't reach and ended up with a smashed glass on me as it tumbled.

Steph was lovely and delivery extra towels- a must if you are using the outside bath .
If you do wish to use the bath - look up You Tube videos on how to get the best from it . It takes several hours to get up to temperature but is worth it.

A lovely, enjoyable week . With a few tweaks could be amazing .

The Glen Glack cabins are in a fantastic location - both the immediate surroundings and also vicinity to Dunkeld. We did not use our car at all during our stay because we could do superb walks directly from the cabin. The whole property had a luxury feel, was warm, spacious and well equipped and we would love to return.

We enjoyed our time in Juniper over Easter weekend - it was a long way to go for us but easy to find using the instructions and all set up on arrival. Wonderful for it to be dog friendly and be able to walk around the loch, even if incredibly muddy! Nice walks nearby too. Very quiet and private.
Cabin was well set up with equipment to cook with and had nice linens. It was warm and the bed was very comfortable.
The bathroom looks nice but the shower door does leak badly and this made the room very wet, this should be fixed as a priority as the floor was very slippy. Also the kitchen tap is very wobbly and there were a couple of other install niggles. But generally nice fixtures and fittings chosen, just a thorough snag of the build finish to make it truly lovely would have better justified the nightly cost.
The outdoor bath cover was not on when we arrived so that took a bit of time to clean and set up but once we did it was a nice feature.
On departure we had an issue with our car so couldn't check out on time but Steph was lovely about it and let us stay until RAC had been so it wasn't too stressful! Overall it was a nice stay.

We stayed in the Juniper Cabin at Glen Glack, it was perfect for place to relax and breathe in the fresh air. Fantastic walking on the doorstep, so no need to to get muddy boots in cars. Also, the cabin was the perfect (walking) distance from the village of Dunkeld where there are plentiful places to eat, drink and shop.

I do feel we may have paid extra for the outdoor bath, which wasn't very useable, too far from the cabin and a bit of a chore to clean and set up.

We stayed for four nights and I would happily have stayed longer.

We stayed there for a weekend of relaxation with our dog. The cabin makes you feel you are in a world of your own.
Everything you need. Outdoor bath to watch the stars at night.
Plenty walks at your door step.
Can’t wait to go back.

We stayed 2nd- 5th Jan, in Juniper. Great, cosy little cabin tucked away but just a short distance from the lovely high street of Dunkeld. Lovely local walks nearby. Cabin had everything we needed and some cute little extras.

A lovely stay in November after staying in the summer. Very cosy and relaxing, and free electric car charging as a bonus!
There were some items that hadn't been fixed from our previous stay which would improve the stay: wobbly tap in the kitchen and the shower door leaks water all over the floor, we ended up going through all the towels to mop this up.
Would absolutely stay again, love the location for a relaxing few days with easy access into Dunkeld.

Booking and check in process excellent. These are beautiful lodges in a stunning private location. Bedding and towels are of the highest standards and the kitchen has everything you need to cook any meal you want. Wood burner is a superb addition and plenty of wood and kindlers to get it started. Lodge is heated by underfloor heating meaning it is warm wherever you are, heat is by Air Pump so also low carbon.
Couple of slight issues, tap in kitchen was loose and needs sorted. Doesn’t stop you using it but was awkward. The hot tub is about 20m away and at this time of year is very dark with no lighting close-bye, a rechargeable light is provided in the lodge however the charging cable was missing so we used our phones instead. There is no where next to the tub to place towels or bathrobes or plastic glasses for outdoor use, however the tub itself is wonderful and we had a fantastic starry evening in the roasting hot tub. Make sure you know how to light a fire, it is a wee bit tricky at first as it’s not a standard firebox, but once it’s going it heated the tub in about 3 hours. You also have to fill the water first so allow plenty of time. I would recommend that you change the water after each use as there is no water treatment available.
Overall a stunning location, beautiful lodges and would definitely go back again, perfect winter retreat.

Loved staying at Juniper. A beautiful lodge with everything you’d need for a short stay! Was worried it may be cold in December but that couldn’t be further from the truth - we were never cold the whole time we were there. Short distance from Dunkeld town (walkable) which has great amenities - recommend the Scottish Deli and Aran bakery! We’d definitely go back again.

Lots of issues with the lodge. Front door difficult to open and close has swelled up due to the heavy rain. Need a mat on the inside of the door. Kitchen lacking storage. No where to put groceries that we brought for the stay. Kitchen tap moves. The drainer near the sink allows water all over the counter. No microwave. Crockery out on an open shelf, bathroom sink tap is difficult to stop dripping. Hand shower over the bath leaks. Smoke alarm right over the bed so you see a constant green light. No draws in the bedroom, only provided with coat hangers in the built in cupboard. No obvious thermostat to adjust the temperature in the lodge. Access to the lodge is a long gavel lane with lots of speed bumps for some reason.
Due to the bad weather we decided to come home early. I did not enjoy this lodge as much as we did with the original lodges at Blair Athol. These lodges are a lot better laid out. I would not book these lodges again.

We had a very good weekend break in Glen Glack. The cabins are secluded, yet only a mile or so from Dunkeld. The cabins are very well equipped with everything you could need to self cater although there are several decent places to eat in Dunkeld. There are several woodland walks around the cabins of varying difficulty - maps are provided in the welcome pack.
A free to use EV charger is sited at each cabin if you intend using the cabins as a base to explore Perthshire - loch Tay, The Queens View, Pitlochry, Aviemore and Cairngorm are all within easy driving distance.Highly recommended either for a get away from it all break, or as a base.

Our stay at Glen Glack was just what we needed - the ultimate relaxing hibernation.

Our cabin, Juniper was so cosy and tucked away with its own wood fired tub and enough wood to have the fire lit for our whole 3 day stay. The outdoor terrace was the perfect morning sun spot and the views of the loch were stunning. We realised there was no potato masher upon arrival but a quick email to the manager and one arrived at the door the next day. I honestly think nothing would be too much to ask.

We had a lovely time exploring the nearby castle and village of Dunkeld too. We will be back! Perhaps a new annual tradition.

Few things that could be tweaked - the hot and cold taps were the wrong way round in the bathroom sink and the tap in the kitchen was a little wobbly. It would also have been nice to have had a welcome hamper - most places we have stayed at a similar price point and style would normally have some milk, coffee, some local produce like shortbread or bread. Just a nice touch that would've made our arrival even better.

These are small things though and we cannot stress enough how much we loved our time there!

We stayed at Glen Glack for 3 nights in September and had the most amazing time. The lodges have been done up beautifully and kitted out to perfection, we honestly couldn't fault it. They're also in a great location, just 15 mins or so away from Dunkeld, which has some lovely pubs and restaurants. We've already booked to come back on our wedding night!

Absolutely surpassed expectations! Stayed in juniper which had the added bonus of the amazing outdoor bath. The cabin itself was so tastefully decorated, cosy and magical that we did not want to leave! The cabin had everything you’d practically need to cook and stay warm! It was kitted out excellently! The location was also fab. We walked to and from Dunkeld and also went a forestry walk. We will definitely be back

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the location of the cabin was very idyllic. Lacking personal touch.

Cleanliness- upon arrival noticed immediately that the coffee machine was covered in a layer of dust, previous coffee stains and also stains on the counter. Food residue on the table and chairs which was disappointing. Apart from these small things very pleasant but for us it was a disappointing first impression.
We also found that a lot of the small black gravel from the tracks came in to the cabin so we ended up using an towel from home as a door matt inside the porch area so would recommend providing one or these.

Customer service - all good, had a WiFi issue which was dealt with promptly and communication was very professional and prompt throughout.

Comfort - the cabin was very comfortable, a nice amount of space for 2 people. Otherwise, the only thing we noticed is the cabin has not enough storage for clothes/walling gear if you are staying for a long period of time. This meant most of our stuff had to stay in the living area for the week.

Condition - The general condition of the cabin was good, although the shower tray/door leaked considerably, meaning we had to mop up the water with our towels after showering. Also, the coat hangers in the porch were not ideal, as the coats kept falling off the hooks.

Location - the location of the cabin is exactly what it says on the tin, you are spoilt for lovely woodland walks on your doorstep and dunkeld is only a short walk away, with a great bakery!

Value For Money - we have stayed in several log cabins/ air b and bs which were half the price of juniper and they provided basics such as milk, biscuits, even a bottle of bubbly. We understand for this cabin you're paying a premium for the location, however we honestly felt for the price we paid for our stay it was lacking that personal touch which makes a big difference.

We had a wonderful time staying in Juniper & we enjoyed the walking straight from the front door! Very well equipped & stunning views…added bonus was the wood fired bath outside! However better instructions are needed & about 4 /6 hours to get it to temperature but it was definitely worth the wait! Many thanks

We had a lovely 2 night stay in Juniper and couldn't have been happier it had everything we needed in a great setting that was thoroughly relaxing. Juniper was the perfect size for the 2 of us and with the private veranda we were able to sit out and over look the lovely forest and Loch with a beer and a glass of wine in the afternoon sunshine. There is lots to do locally with walks and bike rides right on your doorstep and the local town of Dunkeld has some great shops and places to eat.

We booked this stay with our dog for a quiet and relaxed few days and after seeing it advertised as a calm and peaceful retreat it seemed perfect.

There are a few differences to what is on the website compared to the actual cabin - the plan is quite different and should be updated as it's much better than what we were expecting: separate shower cubicle, enclosed entrance etc. The booklet said the dry store would be open with midge proof items however this was locked so we just didn't stay outside in the evening.

The kitchen is well designed and equipped, we were happy there was a dishwasher as this isn't mentioned as well as salt, pepper, sugar, tea, coffee, chocolate, and vinegar. Oil would be a helpful addition, but we brought some so this was fine.

The living and dining area with log burner (we didn't use this) and TV are great, but some curtains to the living part would be nice as it felt a little exposed.

The bed is amazing, very comfortable and good quality sheets, towels and dressing gowns and some nice touches of hot water bottles and blankets. We did have a problem with the shower door leaking.

The outdoor bath is a nice addition, however it had a lot of bugs and dirt despite the covering and a way to clean this (hand held net?) would be helpful, however didn't stop me using it. I could see this being great in the colder evenings!

We were unfortunately awoken with sawing type noises on our 2nd and 3rd morning as well as shouting, swearing and music. I emailed and asked how long this would last and I was told there was snagging happening and they would ask to finish as quickly as possible. Not quite the relaxing morning of breakfast on the terrace I had planned. I did have to follow up in the afternoon as the loud music being played from the van was too much however I received no response and it only stopped shortly before they left sometime after 5.

We were also disturbed with a man dropping off wood logs (there were already lots of logs and we didn't request this) who circled our cabin on the gravel path directly outside the window which was odd and frightening.

The events on this day really impacted the calm and peaceful atmosphere we had expected as described and I would have chosen different days to visit had I known building work would be taking place as I found it very difficult to switch off and relax.

Despite the above, it wouldn't put me off visiting again, I might just confirm there is no building work taking place.

The photos of the surrounding landscape on the site are a little misleading - it’s definitely still a work in progress as the vistas are not quite there with debris from clearing the area still very visible. The cabin was clean and beautifully decorated - curtains in the main area would go a long way to making it feel more cosy especially when the weather gets cooler as it currently feels a little exposed. Customer service was a little bit poor, didn’t get a prompt response to two initial inquiries (in fact the first had no call back as promised) and the other had to be chased prior to arrival. When we arrived we were unable to open the outdoor storage to retrieve bug repellent and were assured someone would come along to help us or bring supplies - neither of which happened during our stay. The availability of EV charging was amazing and I think could be better highlighted to say available outside each cabin - we thought this might have been shared facilities but we’re delighted to find it right outside.

We did not originally understand that these new cabins were located in the village of Dunkeld, a fairly long distance from the main Castle Blair environs, but when we eventually arrived we found a very quiet location, which we appreciated. There does need to be better signage, as the Glen Glack sign is only visible from the direction via Perth. We came via Inverness and got very lost. We had to call the lodge admin and get talked in as it really is not easy to find if you do not know the area. The road in is very rough, muddy and (to our mind at least) unnecessarily bumpy. If you have a 4x4 - drive it! Although we understand that the Estate is currently undertaking rewilding of the area (a very long term prospect), at the moment the surrounding forest appears to be entirely Sitka spruce and as such it does feel like being in a mono-culture with lots of tree stumps around. It was not easy to get down to the nearby loch, perhaps they will eventually create a path from the cabin to the water and clear the area around the water of excess growth so that the loch can be seen and accessed. (A waterside deck would be wonderful). This is a one-bed cabin and so it is compact, however fine for a couple. Beautifully furnished in a fairly modern manner. As it was brand new there were a few teething issues, which were quickly sorted out by on-site maintenance staff. We also appreciated the log burner which came supplied with ample logs, kindling etc. There does need to be a door mat installed, as the black grit covering the roads gets tracked into the house and makes a big mess. The local village Dunkeld is very nice and we had a wonderful meal at The Taybank, which was dog friendly.

We had a lovely stay. Lovely view over the Loch.

Cabin was lovely but no key for veranda door and no access to drying room which would have been helpful considering the weather. There were plenty of beautiful walks in the area which the dog thoroughly enjoyed and less than a mile away from some lovely places to eat
