The flat has been most beautifully refurbished and furnished. The decoration and furnishing are elegant and tasteful, and although the flat is very tight for space clever use of under bed and under sofa storage goes a long way to alleviating the space problems. The bed is extremely comfortable and the bathroom and shower spacious and very good. The automatic low level lighting in the bathroom is inspired! The washing machine and dishwasher are easy to use and efficient, but the lack of instructions for the cooker meant I couldn't use it until I'd had a demonstration! I am an Aga owner and have neither an electric nor gas cooker nor an electric hob, I use a gas hob. A set of instructions for the cooker, hob and grill would have been greatly appreciated, particularly since instructions for switches and TV were so good and easy to understand. The lack of a toaster was disappointing and irritating.

Unfortunately the kitchen/dining equipment is woefully lacking. 4 knives 4 forks, 4 spoons. no side knives or dessert forks. 3 dinner plates a few mis matched side plates, odd mugs, random glasses and plastic tooth mug and no toaster While I understand the concept of shabby chic and am a great fan, it is necessary to have full place settings and to have enough to load the dishwasher to run it economically. I had to wash up, during and after every meal, and was often unable to use the dishwasher because there was too little to fill it. in fact i did put it on on one occasion only to discover that we had to use the plastic tooth mugs for coffee. Towards the end of the week I ran it after every meal and snack, and almost empty. An expensive exercise, but I was fed up washing dishes several times a day. The lack of a decent set of saucepans was frustrating. Some bog standard pots and pans with lids would be ideal. Boiling an egg in a wide, shallow pan is once again expensive on electricity. Even filled to the brim the eggs were not covered. The baking cupboard full of pretty pink baking accessories is delightful, but I would rather have had a toaster, a teapot which makes more than two cups of tea, and a few saucepans in which I could boil, potatoes, eggs, pasta vegetables etc. (and simultaneously.

Although we were immensely impressed with the appearance and appointment of the flat, and the thought that went into almost everything, our experience was marred by the poor kitchen/dining equipment. Although a 2 person flat, friends will and did pop in for coffee or tea. The inability to offer them a clean cup or plate without resorting to the washing up bowl every time was inconvenient and for that reason we would not rent it again, unless or until enough kitchen equipment is supplied to be able to use the dishwasher and still be able to cook and eat a meal while it is on. Delightful though the pink bakeware is, I think most holiday makers will not use it and the space could be used for additional, necessary kitchen/dining equipment.

I hope these comments will be taken in the spirit in which they are intended. I have some considerable experience over many years in the hospitality industry and sincerely think that this lovely flat deserves constructive criticism to make it tip top.It is so nearly perfect.

I have ticked the 'no' box below because of the present under equipping of kitchen and dining. It goes without saying that an equipment review would change this to a 'yes'!

Hello Felicity, Thank you for such a comprehensive review. I always say we should spend a weekend in a new or refurbished property as living somewhere for a few days can throw up issues we wouldn't normally see! So, yes, you have made valid points and we will endeavour to rectify these as soon as possible. We really appreciate this feedback as it will help us improve our service. Look forward to seeing you again next summer, Best wishes, Sara
