This is the the most perfect place for a couples' break in York. With a beautiful living area complete with comfortable sitting area, a dining table set by the window - and a hidden away, luxury double-ended bath - you are all set to sit back, relax and just take time away from it all.

The property was decorated to a high standard and very comfortable. However we unfortunately had some issues - with the shower (was not draining properly), bathroom heating (could not be turned on) and a living room radiator made loud noises meaning it had to be turned off.

Whilst these were annoying the apartment is well worth it assuming these issues are fixed.

It’s a very beautiful apartment. I was very comfortable and had an amazing time. The only thing is there is no parking and it’s difficult to get parking at the car park. But other than that it is a wonderful little place.

I have nothing bad to say about the retreat. 3 things need addressing. Extractor fan and light doesn’t work. Hot water stopped working and only cold water available after day 2 and heating didn’t stay on.

What a fantastic place!

5-minute walk from bars, restaurants and shops. The car park was accessible via a 2-minute walk from the back door through the rear alleyways behind the property, albeit a little pricy. The property had everything you could need and more for a stay for a few days (apart form a pizza cutter ha). Access to the unit was easy by just following the simple instructions provided.

the only issue we experienced was in relation to the heating was a bit of a pain to use. The radiator in the living room needs bleeding, we had no hot water on New Year's Eve as it suddenly went off whilst using the shower, didn't contact the property manager as we where heading out and in a rush. The bath was a hidden gem.

My only recommendations would be to put the tv in the bedroom on a swivel bracket to view better from bed, and maybe consider a larger sofa to lounge on for the nights you may look to stay in and relax.

I can’t say enough lovely things about our stay here. It’s in an amazing location just a 10 minute walk and you’re in the city centre. The apartment is beautiful, very clean and so comfortable. The kitchen has absolutely everything you need which I find is rare when away from home. My partner had to drag me through it the bed it was comfy I couldn’t get out of it. Also we received the most beautiful hamper when we arrived with all kinds of treats in that really was a lovely touch. I Really would recommend staying here and definitely will be back in the future.

I had an extended stay in the Retreat for work reasons and enjoyed it immensely. All the facilities in the flat are top quality and the bath has to be seen to be believed -- so luxurious!
