This was a lovely apartment and had all the amenities you require. The surrounding area is not great but the apartment itself is clean and tidy. The parking space was a bonus.
Absolutely gorgeous place to stay in a lovely area. We loved the projector screen and the views over the river. Thank you very much for having us.
Property was better than can be seen on the images. Location was perfect for a car free week. Parking was easy and secure. Comfort of the apartment was spot on and the standard very high. Everyone really enjoyed their stay.
Perfect weekend get away. We stayed with our two children and they loved the place as much as we did. Great space, furnishings, history and ideally located between York and Wetherby. Would definitely recommend to friends and hope to stay again ourselves soon.
Thank you so much. It was amazing, the fresh flowers and wine was a real treat! Would definitely return.
We absolutely loved staying at The Grand at Dukes Town House. It is so stylish, comfortable and well planned. From the crisp white sheets to the opulent bathroom, the clean lines of the kitchen and the panelling, it was relaxing and luxurious. A great advantage was the parking at Marygate car park close by and a short stroll to york centre. Fabulous location and place.
This is one of the nicest cottages we've stayed in. It was immaculately clean and well equipped with everything you needed. Loved the extra touches, welcome pack of teabags, coffee, biscuits, milk and butter. Especially liked the prosecco we were given on New year's Eve. I would definitely recommend these cottages and we will definitely stay again. 5 mins from park and ride, and another 6 mins on the bus into York.
We had a wonderful time in York, despite the weather. 18 St Johns was well presented and well positioned for the centre without being IN the centre. Local shops and takeaways also very handy!
Lovely apartment, very spacious and only minutes from the centre of York. Added bonus of having a supermarket on the doorstep.
Located in the city centre in a really nice and quite area. Close to local shops. The apparent is modern it provides all the things you might need. The bathroom was huge!!
Brilliant apartment, clean and comfortable. Highly recommend and would definitely stay at the apartment again.
We had a great stay in the Tractor Shed at Brecks Farm. The cottage was in a great location , close to York city centre but also surrounded by lovely country side and within walking distance of a lovely village with shops and pubs. The cottage was beautifully decorated and Guy and Tracey were very welcoming.
Really fantastic place, great location. My boys and I loved the pool table. The kitchen was well-equipped and the place had lots of original features from when it was a Maltings. Would recommend!
We stayed in 'the parlour' which open plan, one level, with a garden looking onto the front field where we could see the owl in the evening, hares and a pheasant. The cottage is modern and the bed was big and comfy. Farm is a few minutes from a Tesco and retail park but it's so quiet you wouldn't know, and the park & ride for York is 5 minutes drive away. Spent time watching the ducks and ducklings at the pond, and the other wildlife. A lovely relaxing break, or breck.
The ideal and functional accommodation. Of a superior standing, A few words to define this apartment, fabulous, clean pleasant calm and very beautiful. I recommend it and I will come back. . A few minutes walk from the city center, beautiful cobbled streets. Thank you to the Johns Mews team who always listen
Everything we needed was prepared for our stay. The location is perfect for exploring York’s History. The Walls, Museums and Gardens, The Art Gallery, beautiful old streets with unique shops and of course York Minster. The ArtHouse is a successful example of modernising a character property into a comfortable, relaxing and unique stay in the magnificent city of York.
Overly Satisfied with the Cottage. Tbh the pictures don’t do it any justice whatsoever, the decor in this place was second to none. Absolutely stunning. Quite possibly the best air BnB we have ever used. Hats off to the owner. Highly recommended, perfect location.
My family & I stayed at Grande View for a week and had such a fantastic time. The house has such fantastic amenities, we used the hot tub ALOT the pool table had us entertained for hours not to mention the amazing cinema room, we all watched a film in there every night!! All of the beds were comfy & the baths/ showers were great for everyone trying to get ready. The location is great, it takes 8mins to get to Whitby harbour which is such a beautiful seaside town . We took the beautiful steam train from there to Pickering, which was a lovely trip. We visited Scarborough, York and Knaresboro...more
Lovely cottage within a short walk of the beach, handy for Whitby and local drives. Lovely facilities and walking on site.
The apartment is in an excellent location, is very tastefully furnished and immaculately clean. Amenities are also good. The duvet was clearly excellent quality but was far too warm - a lighter one for summer months would be a good idea. There was a nespresso machine but no pods in the welcome pack. The welcome pack was insufficient for two breakfasts for two people (only 2 coffee bags and 2 sugars - had to buy extra) and would have expected fresh milk for this price. TV didn't work as per welcome pack instructions. Checkout time of 10am is a little early. Having said all of that, these...more
A beautifully presented and fully equipped cottage within walking distance of York city centre. Didn't use the car at all during our stay which was lovely. Middlethorpe village just down the road with some great pubs serving very good food. Stunning surroundings, very tranquil. The cottage has been finished to a very high standard with so much attention to detail. You can see a lot of love went into the renovations and the owners should be very proud of what they have created there. Definitely one to make a return visit to and recommend to others.
We stayed for three nights across the bank holiday weekend, having previously lived in the centre of York a few years ago. This is a beautifully appointed house on probably the most exclusive street in York and is central to all that York has to offer whilst being very private. The only thing to be mindful of is that the Minster bells are loud and regular, but they stop for c 12 hours from 8pm. We’d be keen to stay again.
This is a really amazing property. Very modern, clean, spacious with an absolutely stunning interior. We felt instantly comfortable and it really is home away from home. Lovely touches with the Alexa and such comfortable beds. It is less than a 5 minute walk into the town centre so accessible for all bars, restaurants, river trips, shops etc. You will not be disappointed when you stay here.
We loved our stay in Bay Tree Cottage, the space was really cosy and relaxing and equipped with everything we needed! The cottage is beautifully decorated and the underfloor heating was an absolute winner! It’s only a few minutes walk away to the town centre which is handy but also on a quiet lane! We would definitely stay again if we were in York!
Everything you could want and more. The bedrooms both ensuite were a real luxury. The kitchen was fully equipped. The only thing I would suggest is printing clear instructions for using the washer/dryer. I found it difficult to use. Also more towel hooks in all the toilets. Other than that I would say it was a10/10 The location is great. Just outside of the extremely busy centre. Five to ten minutes to walk to everything we wanted to see. We had a great time watching the swans and geese on the river. If we come back to York I would book it again. Also the staff at Stays York were very kin...more
This is a great property which is very well maintained and run. Fully equipped of appliances and electronics, ideal for a short or long stay.
Wow what a lovely house, 5mins walk from the minster. Couldn’t ask for anymore, modern, clean, comfortable! We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend a stay here.
We love this Little House. Dawn the owner is amazing - very helpful and kind. The house is very clean, comfortable, well equipped and a great location. The welcome " basket " and homemade cake was fantastic. Thank you for a great stay. Perfection !! See you again !
We were delighted with the accommodation at 30 Woodsmill Quay which had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend break. The apartment was spotless and the kitchen really well-equipped. We particularly enjoyed the fantastic views of the river with much to watch day and night! The location is only a short walk from the railway station and everything York has to offer.
We had a lovely few days here, it was really comfortable and clean. The roof terrace was relaxing and didn’t feel overlooked. Just a few minutes walk to the bars and shops. And there’s loads to explore in York too
We had a lively weekend visiting york and staying at 26 Cocoa Suites. The apartment was stylish and cosy will all the furnishings and items you could need. It was the perfect place to relax after a tiring day exploring the city. The river next to the window was a lovely treat, and the minster only a short walk away. The company were incredibly helpful in the lead up to our stay with special birthday requests and on the day with checking in. The arrival hamper was a beautiful extra treat. I would definitely recommend and hope to stay again.
Had a great weekend at 42 Holgate Road for my son's birthday. Easy walking distance to the National Railway Museum which was our reason for the trip to York. House absolutely spotless, warm and well equipped, comfortable beds, couldn't ask for more. Credit to the house-keepers for doing such a good job on the cleaning. Had a major problem with the drainage (obviously a long term issue caused by the original plumber who renovated the property, and unfortunately it just happened to reach breaking point during our stay) but Stays York dealt with it very quickly and efficiently and sent a speciali...more
This is our second stay in the apartment. It is ideally located for York Minster,The Shambles,York Market and many other York attractions. It is kept warm by central heating and the facilities are all there, including cooker, kettle, toaster, fridge and even a dishwasher!!
The wardrove in this room is a bit small. It is a bit complicate to go in with so many codes. Furthernore, I did not receive them the firs day
We stayed in Skyview Retreat for three nights at the beginning of May whilst attending our daughter's graduation. The apartment was perfect, spotless, comfortable and in the ideal location. We will be back. Sorry about losing the parking permit!
Our first time in York and all I can say is wow what a place! Beautiful city with so much to see and do. The apartment is a stones throw from the Shambles, very well looked after, great decor and very clean. Would highly recommend staying here.
Lovely property in a fantastic location - we had an issue with the bed albeit the owner sorted this very quickly . Only slight issue was that the beds were too soft for our tastes and as such sleep quality sufferred- apart from that could not fault it. Would highly recommend
One of the best holiday apartments I've ever stayed in, so clean and neat and just as described. The little welcome pack much appreciated.
A lovely apartment just as all the pictures shows. Brilliant position, only a few minutes walk from everything in the centre. Spotlessly clean when we arrived, a nice welcome hamper with lovely goodies, king size bed very comfortable, shower extremely good, instructions were faultless all the way through. Handy supermarket literally over the road for croissants every morning! Good safe parking space (Volvo car size) next to apartment so no need to use the car whilst there. Lift up to apartment rather than take the stairs! Would definitely recommend the apartment as well as the stays york agenc...more
What a wonderful place. The location is just brilliant. The view of the Minster is just amazing. The flat itself has everything you need. It is very comfortable and stylist. And it having secure parking right by the flat is a bonus. Especially with being in the centre of York. Just a wonderful place.
An amazing apartment very clean and had everything you need for a comfortable break away. Location of this house is superb, close to all the tourist spots.
Lovely well maintained building even the lift is polite. You can't really go wrong with this accommodation everything is new and there's a welcome pack. Tesco is only 50m away and your right in the town nothing is more than a 15min walk and there are loads of restaurants and places to visit. Our only comment would be get a bigger sofa. After a day walking round a more comfortable one would be appreciated. Oh wifi password in document is wrong due to a capital letter issue. 5 stars definitely.
It is exactly as shown in the pictures. It’s a brand new high end apartment and is well finished and furnished. We were visiting with our grown up son so was ideal to have the lounge area to socialise when we were in. Didn’t actually use the kitchen facilities at all but again were excellent if you needed them.
Well what can i say beautiful apartment safe & secure, location is fab plenty of amenities around the area. 5 min walk( if that ) to the minster. The staff at York stays were second to none. thank you Molly for helping me with the cooker. Also the out of hours staff when i thought i couldn't work the TV , turns out just me not been so up to date with technology. The staff at York Stays were truly amazing nothing was too much trouble & they dealt with any issues swiftly. I really enjoyed my time here. Just a couple of niggles ( clear instructions how to use the induction hob) even ...more
This apartment was well located and in good condition. Despite being in a busy area, the windows were thick enough to keep out any noise from the street. My only gripes were lack of a shelf in the en suite shower and an electric bin lid that didn't work (batteries flat presumably?). Also pretty low on tableware and glasses if there are 4 staying (only 4 glasses, for example). Would book again without hesitation.
Stayed at Castle Chambers for 3 weeks The location was ideal - 5 mins from the City Centre and all attractions The apartment was well maintained and beds were comfy The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and appliances Would highly recommend staying here Suggestions 1. Wish there was a Dryer in the apartment as ours was a long stay 2. Essential supplies like salt & sugar could have been there ...
Very comfortable and clean. Location great, quiet yet within walking distance of town and amenities. Will definitely stay here again
Having visited York many times over the years, 12 St John's Mews is certainly one of the best self catering accommodation we have stayed in. Stays York manage several properties in this development and we think this is possibly the best. The apartment is very light, tastefully decorated and furnished. It is on the first floor, with views of the Minster from the living/dining/kitchen and one of the bedrooms. The second bedroom is also very light with double aspect windows + juliet balcony. There is also a juliet balcony in the kitchen area. There is only one bathroom (only a shower) between bo...more
Great apartment, very comfortable and in a good location. Disabled access wasn’t good enough for guest in a wheelchair due to inadequate ramps. Parking permit to park near to apartment not available which was only disclosed after the booking was made. parking was at a public car park a distance from the apartment.
This beautiful apartment has panoramic views over York city and an unrivalled view of York Minister from its sunny roof terrace! Despite being located in the centre of town it was very quiet as the apartment is located quite far back from the street entrance. There were 3 generations in our group and everybody was blown away by the views - we would definitely like to return!
Beautiful apartment situated in an excellent location on the River Ouse, everything about the apartment was excellent, also has its own little garage where you can park your car as everything is so close by and walking distance definately will be booking again
What a fantastic stay in this apartment its got everything you need even car your own car park space behind gates which is a massive plus the apartment was spotless also the location was brilliant 5 minutes to the shambles and all that york has to offer we loved it
What a fantastic cottage! Beautifully decorated with the best kitchen supplies I've ever known in self-catering accommodation. Shame there's no pavement to the bus stop (or the lovely cafe next door), but that didn't stop us exploring. I'm looking forward to the new washing machine "cupboard" soon too. Thanks for everything Guy and Tracey.
Really nice, right on the river, we had a small problem with the shower which we rang about and they got it fixed same day with no problem at all - can't ask for more than that really.
We had to extend our stay several days and the host was very accommodating. We would definitely stay there again!
Really great location for York city centre - everything in easy walking distance, but still quietly away from the noise of city nightlife! Lovely decor, clean and well presented. As always, great customer experience from StaysYork.
We booked Cocoa Suites as it looked to suit us for a weekend birthday city staycation. Although we struggled finding it initially, the instructions were very clear and we were able to check in early (which was a huge bonus!) The bed was comfy, the amenities and stay York gift box were a lovely touch, and the shower was good. A great location to dip in and out of York and would be very happy to stay here again!
This is the best place to stay in York hands down and the owners are absolutely lovely. Everyone goes above and beyond. Simply the best!
Our second visit to this well equipped and luxurious apartment. As delightful as ever. We did lots of day trips this time and being so close to public transport is such a benefit. Roll on visit number 3.
Enjoyed my stay at 10 the tannery the flat was cosy comfortable and in a great location Thanks for a lovely stay
Very clean, comfortable and well-equipped. Excellent location for local shops and a short walk into central York.
This is a comfortable cottage in a great location, a lovely walk along the river to get into York. The area is quiet and parking was not a problem. When we arrived the beds were not made up as we had asked but Stays York quickly sent the cleaner back to sort this out. Only issue was the lack of an extractor fan in the bathroom meant that this got very steamed up even with the window open Would definitely recommend this for a short stay though.
The house was very clean and comfortable for our family of 5 adults. It's been nicely renovated, located on a quiet street, and very convenient to historic York. Do note the 3rd bedroom is up a steep and narrow stairway. A wonderful house with comfortable beds. Small things...it would have been convenient to have a cutting board in the kitchen and soap in the 3 bathrooms. The staff was communicative and checkin was easy.
The property was easy to find, the parking so convenient, and the space plenty large enough for our estate car. The flats had a gated entrance so felt secure. The area too felt safe and was within easy reach of several convenient stores/cafe/restaurants. The flat was well presented, clean and had every imaginable appliance, kitchenware etc. A really pleasant and comfortable stay. Would happily return.
I was in York for work for 5 days, and the apartment made a pleasant alternative to a hotel. Very well equipped.
We had an amazing stay at HQ Penthouse! The apartment was fab for a a weekend getaway! Interiors were beautiful and fresh. Some lightbulbs missing from laps but that did not affect our stay! Location was amazing for taking strolls into the town centre and exploring what York has to offer! The terrace space added an extra space for relaxation and gathering your thoughts. Would highly recommend this apartment for anyone looking for a touch of Luxury!
We have just returned from a wonderful week in this excellent accommodation. It isn't an overlarge property but is totally 5* in quality. It isn't just about the rooms, but who can complain about 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms with a decent size lounge and kitchen. It is the quantity of equipment provided for use. There was nothing we were short of and didn't need to keep washing up to be able to eat a meal. The cupboards were full of crockery and cutlery and everything to be able to self cater that you could want. It felt lovely and homely and is in a very safe block with wonderful views of York.Y...more
We enjoyed the accommodation. Good value for money, and good location. We definitely recommend it to anyone.
Loved this property Great kitchen and patio area Good level of cleanliness Lovely gift waiting for us on arrival Would defo stay again snd highly recommend
An Excellent apartment only a few minutes walk to the city. Spotlessly clean. Had a lovely wake up call with the geese taken flight in the mornings. Loved the place.
A very late 3 day booking. Simple and comfortable little place in a really excellent location for exploring York on foot. Free parking outside property in quiet no through road despite its location was a real plus. Decor is modern and neutral The outside garden/courtyard area however is nothing more than a small narrow strip adjoining the kitchen and bathroom presumably all that's left after extending into the once garden, it was nice to be able to open the door to this area to let the fresh air in but its not a place to enjoyably sit out in really. 3 or 4 min walk to a supermarket for ...more
The apartment is in an ideal location for walking to local sights and fabulous bar and restaurants. Very comfortable and clean accommodation, felt like a home from home. Would recommend as a place to stay in York
Enjoyed our stay having stayed with Stays York on previous occasion was not disappointed. The location was ideal.. The apartment was great for four people. Comfortable beds. The weather was a bonus loads of sunshine Lovely welcome hamper.. Will definitely use Stays York again.
We chose Fairfax Street for its central location and family friendly amenities (cot/highchair, parking, etc). The house is on a quiet residential street with ample parking. On arrival the house was clean and tidy, with a thoughtful welcome hamper. The living space is large and comfortable, great for socialising, with a well equipped kitchen. The master bedroom was large, plenty of space even with a cot set up. The other two bedrooms were smaller, but fine for our needs. The location was excellent - just a short walk into the city, lots of cafes/restaurants nearby, and even a small...more
My second stay at Cocoa Suites this time in the Waterline apartment. Cosy apartment ideal for 2 people but could fit 4, wonderfully clean and tidy, great stay.
We have stayed here on numerous occasions and never been disappointed. Great Central location and unbelievably quiet. Lovely outdoor area all well maintained. This is first time we have booked with Stays York and can't fault there efficiency. Staff very helpful and polite could recommend this company now.
Very comfortable even if access arrangements were complex. Shower cubicle needs a new gasket to avoid flooding.
The location is ideal, you can walk into the city to see the Minster, Wall walks, museums etc. The house was very clean and tidy with good facilties, dvd microwave, dishwasher etc. Stays York we're prompt in refunding the deposit and the booking process was easy.
Apartment very well located. Short easy walk to York Minister, shops, museums. York has loads to do. Easy walking access to supermarkets. Few minutes walk to join the York Wall. Apartment has everything you could need a great quiet space to chill after a busy day. Real bonus of having a parking space with the apartment.
One of my favourite places I've ever stayed! The pictures can't do it justice, and you feel you have just stepped back in time as you're surrounded by all the history of this lovely Tudor building. Beautifully renovated, this beamed apartment takes up the top floor of the house and along with so much character, has all the modern conveniences you could want. It has gorgeous furnishings, fabulous bathrooms and nicely equipped kitchen. The living space and the master suite were so impressive! Parking is a few minutes away which is a bit of a walk with the suitcases but it is so great to have the...more
A group of 7 of us visited York to celebrate a birthday. The house was plenty big enough for us all, 2 toilets helped. The rooms were modern and nicely decorated with very comfy beds. We enjoyed the welcome hamper, much appreciated. We were also contacted to let us know we could check in early. Only downside is lack of parking. Carpark near by but quite pricey.
We greatly enjoyed staying at this apartment. The kitchen was well stocked and easy to use and the bedrooms were roomy and comfortable. Mark and Liz were very friendly and helpful at our arrival and provided plenty of information about how everything in the apartment worked.
Easy to book with clear instructions on using parking etc. Clean and comfortable. Near to town and attractions- 5 minutes walk to town. Parking is outside the property but street is very narrow and a bit tricky at times but we always had a space, nothing to worry about just nice to know beforehand. We had a lovely break at Maggie’s Place.
Cocoa suites is next to the river. It's a nice place. Everything was great! The apartment is really comfortable and the value for money it's really excellent, because York it's an expensive place.
We enjoyed staying at Queen's Court again. Great location, well appointed apartment. Couple of maintenance issues but otherwise excellent. Deposit returned quickly
This is a small apartment however it was quite nice. Pros, Location ,cleanliness, new build. Cons, Small parking space, small bathroom, only a double bed ( i doubt a bigger bed would fit) Heating is controlled by HIVE i think, you can only manually boost it , so it was a little cold at times. I would say these are only minor issues.Apart from the bed we were comfortable.
1. The kettle needs to be changed, water flows out 2. The mattress on the big bed is very uncomfortable. It's impossible to sleep on it. Like iron bars 3. There is no wardrobe. It is very uncomfortable. My things were in the suitcase for 2 months Other than that, everything was great. Thanks a lot!
We thoroughly enjoyed our three nights at Middle Cottage. The property was clean, welcoming and comfortable. Having a small supermarket and lovely bakery over the road was useful as well, and Dunnington is a pleasant little village. We didn't use the garden area, but the only even remotely negative comment about the house itself would be that it is rather too easy to hit your head when opening or closing the fridge door! That apart, everything was fantastic and we'd definitely be more than happy to stay there again.
Our second stay, we have visited York many times before and this is now our favourite property, ideally located just outside the city walls. Would definitely recommend!
Locate about 10 minutes walk from city centre. Quiet and private. Convenience as nearby supermarket and shopping area within 5 minutes walk.
Loved this place. Comfortable, clean, spacious. The wee terrace out the back was an extra plus, the sun hit it around midday, it was lovely to sit out and have a late breakfast or afternoon tea. Despite being so central, it was very quiet. Would definitely go back again.
Very comfortable stay for 4 nights in York. The location is second to none and provided an absolutely perfect base. Clean, tidy and comfortable. Very useful welcome pack. A number of restaurants, tea rooms and coffee shops directly outside when your feet are too tired to go back out and a Tesco express just round the corner for everything you need if staying in. Lovely spacious modern flat. Great views from apartment 18 and will definitely use again.
Superb location and a lovely apartment. The only downside as others have mentioned is that the shower in the bathroom is really tiny, which is strange because there is plenty of space for a bigger one. Otherwise absolutely great
Nice, clean and pretty place, very good location to city centre, all sightseeing places and restaurants. Spacy appartment with small kitchen. With nice birds sounds in the mornings (be sure you do not mind this). Definetely recommended!
Great weekend. Accommodation perfect. Good location - 20 minutes walk from the railway station. Excellent restaurants nearby.
Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings. Close to the beach and not far from Whitby. Clean and well equipped. The only downside was no outside seating. The seating in the photo belonged to the next cottage.
We have been coming to York from Somerset for many years now for our Christmas shopping. We love it here. This is the second year we have stayed at Moatside Gate. It is convenient for the shops and restaurants. The house is well equipped and clean. The only thing missing was a few Christmas decs but I assume because of Covid this was not possible. Will be back in 2022 hopefully if all goes well.
We had a fabulous stay in the house. Everything was very clean and well equipped. There was plenty of room in the bedrooms and dining area. Great location for getting around York too.
In every aspect an excellent place to stay in York for up to four people with two separate rooms. High standard and overall good finish. Big screens and air conditioning in every room. The location is perfect, close to attractions, restaurants and outdoor activities. Small disadvantage (but not dealbreaker): Hot water heater sometimes noisy
Excellent location. Loved the fact we were in the city centre but once the front door was closed we could have been in the country !
We stayed at the apartment for the purpose of visiting the races and sightseeing in York, and the location of the apartment was great. We were a little apprehensive at first as it overlooks the Royal Mail sorting office, but if the windows were closed there was very little noise. The apartment was clean and was very well equipped. Stays York we’re extremely helpful with a query I had prior to arrival. All in all a very pleasant stay and would recommend and book again.
The location is excellent for exploring all the main sites in York centre and there are lots of good eating places very near. The apartment is well equipped and is very quiet. Would recommend it and would stay again on a future visit to York.
Excellent location, lovely apartment has everything you need! Only let down was that the hot water went cold (freezing cold) after one 10 minute shower, which isn’t ideal when trying to get ready to go out for the day on a cold rainy day! We did try and resolve this on the first day however it did the same again by the second day and heard nothing back after emailing. This was the only let down, otherwise it’s an ideal place to stay. Would consider returning if the water issue was sorted.
I booked a 3 night stay for me and my mum to explore York. Location of property very good. For 2 out of our 3 days we were inconvenienced by not having hot water or heating due to a problem with the boiler. A gas engineer was arranged but did not arrive until late afternoon to fix the problem, this left us with no shower facilities prior to us going out for our evening meal. We were disappointed that we had no courtesy call and no offer of a small token of compensation from Stay York. Such a shame.
I highly recommend this place. Very confortable with everything you need. Perfect for couples and families with children. It is the second time we stay here. We Feel as in Home! Perfect location in the centre of York.
Really nice apartment. Great small balcony sun trap. Good location . Great for two couples with it having to bathrooms with showers.
Perfectly positioned for our favourite restaurants. Very secure and safe Will definitely return again …
Brilliantly located for our needs, so accessible to central York and the walk along the river. Clean and comfortable.
We had a pleasant stay at Apartment 8. It was spotless clean, had everything we needed and the gift basket was a great surprise. The only downside is that we can only wnter the flat at 4 pm. It was hard to spend 6 hours outside with a toddler.
The property is in an ideal, quiet location and within walking distance to access city centre sights. Well designed with a small outdoor area, it is suitably furnished and equipped for up to 4 adults. Modern, clean and uncluttered in a clever design.
We have stayed at this flat for a number of years and have always found it well equipped and comfortable. There are some signs of wear and tear eg The surface of the kitchen top is lifting, the roller blind in the bathroom is stained , however overall these did not detract from our holiday.
Lovely cottage with nice furnishings in a lovely location. Although the kitchen needs more basic equipment: more cutlery (only 3 dessert spoons), potato peeler, bread bin. Also the cleaner needs to invest in a feather duster as cobwebs everywhere! However I would stay again.
Lovely modern and well thought out apartment, very clean and well equipped. Welcome pack a nice touch. One of us found bed to be very comfortable the other wasn’t to keen, ( the only reason I gave it 4 stars on comfort) but it would not stop us booking the apartment again. Would have been more convenient to have 2 sets of keys for the apartment front door and more detailed instructions for the heating. I look forward to staying again when we are next in York.
Really enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. Beautifully decorated. Close to all amenities. Very convenient location. Would highly recommend this home and will return. Only problem; parking permit issued was out of date. This resulted in me receiving a parking fine. This was frustrating and upsetting. Fine was paid immediately by StaysYork but left me wondering everyday if I would receive another fine.
We enjoyed our stay in this quaint location, the view from the bedroom window was amazing overlooking York Minster. Would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone wishing to visit York, it’s in walking distance to all of the attractions this walled city has to offer. Would definitely stay here again
Lovely house for a short break, we chose it as it has a small garden which gets the sun in the evening.
Recently refurbished, clean, quiet flat close to city centre. Second bedroom was smaller than depicted on the website, with the pull out bed erected there was only half a metre space between the 2 beds which were against each wall so really not big enough to be a twin bedroom, ok for smaller kids perhaps but a bit tight for my 2 teens! Ideal as a single bedroom however. Flat was well equipped with iron, ironing board, hairdryer and all kitchen utensils required. Towels, sheets etc. all good quality, new and clean. Kitchen immaculately clean and new, likewise the bathroom which had a good, p...more
Beautiful apartment in excellent location. A few minor issues: - There should be a tray in the guest shower to put toiletries for showering - A bigger bed could be considered for the guest room - this is too small for 2 grown adults - Consider thicker curtains for the living area as the sun shines directly into it and makes it extremely glaring in the afternoons
Well designed and comfortable. Office responsive when mistake about bedding was made. Couldn’t access terrestrial TV.
This is a great cottage, very comfortable in a brilliant location. I would give it 4 out of 5. It would be 5 out of 5 if the kitchen was a little better equipped as there are not many dishes available if you want to self-cater, and if the internal lights that have failed were fixed.
A few minor hiccups along the way but Stays always there to get it figured out. A bit tight in parking when many cars but handy to have parking as so many don't. We stayed 2 months :) Very handy to all main streets by walking
We highly recommend this apartment. It's super convenient for accessing all the tourist spots (basically half a mile from everything and obviously super close to the wall). The flat was clean, spacious and well appointed. The balcony was enormous! When we return to York in the future this will definitely be our first choice.
Immaculate, comfortable, relaxing. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The photos on the website were a true image. I couldn't fault the accommodation. It was a little out of town but a lovely walk to get there and an adequate bus service 2 mins from the property.
A lovely property that's a short walk from the city centre. We hardly used our car. House was spacious and clean. Beds were comfy and bathroom was good. Kitchen was also good however the kitchen equipment was very minimal. There were only two suitable size cups for a cup of tea and no small plates. The cutlery needed replacing. During our stay the dishwasher broke and flooded the floor however this was just bad timing I believe. It was not fixed in time for us to make use of it which was annoying. The sofa and seating in the living room was not enough for a family of four to sit comf...more
A lovely property and great family stay. Would return and also recommend. It’s a new property with a great location and the safe parking was a huge bonus.
Great location for town. Nice apartment. Fantastic to have washer dryer. Lovely shower. Bed ok but did not quite fit frame, there was a gap between the mattress and the frame which was a bit uncomfortable. Carpet a little dirty and could do with a clean. Lovely stay though and enjoyed it would definitely come back
Great location minutes walk to many key locations in York. Well appointed with functional small kitchen. Quite noisy especially on evenings when the nightclub is open across the street. Lights in bathroom are slightly annoying as they are on automatic sensors which is not great in the middle of the night. But for our family it was a good place for a few days.
Great location in York city walking distance too main attractions. Apartments are in great condition with a high end feel. Comfortable beds and furniture. Only downside we felt was shortage of crockery and lack of mugs for tea and coffee, also the dining table looks great but really awkward too clean. Great touch with the welcome pack with food and drink essentials but feel it would be nice too get essential pack with shampoos and soaps etc. Just a few touches would make this a 5 star stay in a great location
We stayed for one week in early August. We arrived at 4pm (keys are collected and returned via a key safe near the entrance lobby) but unfortunately the apartment had not yet been cleaned or beds changed, it was also very hot and stuffy, so we opened the windows and the cleaners arrived a few minutes later, were apologetic and asked us to vacate until at least 5pm. When we returned the apartment was clean, it feels new, modern and tastefully appointed with artwork on the walls. The master bedroom with en-suite is the room which converts to twin beds so our two teenage sons took that room, ...more
Stayed here Monday to Friday, family of 3 including 16 year old and had a fab few days! Apartment has a great layout over 3 floors with lovely spacious bathrooms and bedrooms and a comfortable lounge diner which is well equipped. Wifi was superfast so teenager happy! Lovely garden area with outdoor seating, perfect for early evening chill outs. Parking area just a few minutes walk and so able to just park up and walk into city centre in around 10 mins so great location, our fave bit(& one of reasons fot booking!)was Dough bakery literally just next door & serving delicious breads, pastries, ...more
Good location, plenty of space inside, uncomfortable mattresses! Furniture could do with refreshing, dining room chairs are a bit odd, nice kitchen but two malfunctioning gas rings. Good to have 2 living rooms. No looks in loos and only one door key was a bit unhelpful. No loo roll holders or towel rails…
Amazing property and exactly what we were looking for as we had a wedding near by. House was spotless throughout and had everything you could possibly need. Quality bed linen and really comfortable beds. We had drove over from Dublin and found the parking a little tricky but plenty of parking on other streets nearby so no major issue.
Upside, fantastic location, 5 minutes walk from Minster, convenient for Sainsburys and Coop, plenty of accommodation for 6 people, house had everything we needed. downside, no parking, public rooms small, TV in upstairs lounge not connected, no toilet on ground floor, unable to adjust temperature in shower, gas hob unit faulty unable to light 2 of the hobs, in general the house is a bit tired.
We stayed for a week in this well-equipped flat. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed for cooking. Rooms were well-laid out and comfortable. Location is excellent. There is an M & S foods about 4 blocks away and a large Sainsbury’s within walking distance (and a taxi ride back). We got our “fit to fly” Covid tests at the Whitehall Clinic in Leeds for our return flight home.
We really enjoyed our stay very quiet got a good night sleep. Very close to al the amenities as well. Only thing was when we leaned on the bed it moved across the floor the bed was not attached to the headboard.short stay
We had a lovely stay in york County house is very close to center of town and parking is secure. The apartment had everything we needed and more.
The Pigsty provides spotlessly clean, modern, light and airy accommodation, in a very well designed small area. It's slightly minimalist, which suited us, but a few additional touches such as wine glasses as well as tumblers, a coffee table by the sofa and instructions for the heating and television would be welcome. The bathroom door is somewhat artisanal, which is fine, except for the noise when you try to close it. Slingsby is a charming village, and the local pub is very friendly and welcoming. The catering was limited to delicious pizzas while we were there, but no doubt the menu w...more
This is a beautiful house that is comfortably furnished and situated in the delightful Raithwaite Estate. We arrived to a lovely little Yorkshire goody bag, filled with yummy treats - which was most welcome! The beds were super comfortable, with lovely bed linen and the place was spotless. Would definitely return again - many thanks!
Booked at the last minute but not disappointed. Super location, lovely accommodation and very clean. Would highly recommend!
Great location just inside city walls with 5 minutes walk to local shoos and 10 minutes walk to city centre. Quiet and easy parking. Comfortable and decor like stepping back in time (in a good way) with thousands of books adirning the walls. Everything you could need in kitchen and bathroom. If being picky, tv a little small by today's standards and limited space to hang smart clothes. A welcome pack detailing how to use facilities ans getting on wifi would be useful but easy enough to work things out. Perfect for a city break.
No wi- fi and needs a tv in bedroom for lazy mornings in bed. But really good property and right in York centre
A few minor worries (TVs not all in working order; clothing from previous customers; broken skirting board in living room) but overall, this is a very comfortable and well-appointed house, perfect for 4 or 5 couples. A little over-priced.
The bathroom was rather cool. Some of the upstairs radiators needed to be bled. The engineer who repaired the boiler said that this was not the first time. Suggests that the heating system needs an overhaul.
This flat is very well located for York, and it generally well appointed. However, it is let down by two poor quality mattresses and poor quality polyester bedding - the stays York team did their best to resolve whilst we were there, but sent two cheap polyester toppers. Additionally, this is a ground floor flat without security straps/catches on the windows, so it is vey hot overnight. Cleaning was average, some litter under sofas and crumbs on the carpet. Quick fixes would make for a better stay.
Me and my girlfriend stayed in studio 44 for a week and it’s the best week away I’ve had. Lovely apartment with all the necessary appliances and modern interior. Would recommend for anyone especially couples. 10/10!!
I love the Cocoa Suites. Small but perfectly formed as they say. Go out the front door and it is an easy stroll to work, out the back and you are moments from the middle of stunning York. If I was to make a suggestion or two... perhaps a drawer to put stuff in and some thing to stop the pillows disappearing down the back of the bed. Still love it and would go back in a heartbeat.
The house is in a row of charming early Victorian workers' cottages about five minutes walk from the centre of one of the most interesting and historic cities in the UK. It is tastefully and comfortably furnished. However, it is advertised as accommodating six people. It doesn't, especially if they are not one family or all adults. The rooms are small: one had only a large single bed and another, with a small double, required some dexterity to navigate. The sitting room/area had only five easy chairs and, for example, there were only four wine glasses and four tumblers. The worst thing though ...more
Had a fantastic stay at this property, beautiful decor & excellent additional items included such as teas, coffee pods, pasta & wood for the fire. Great location however parking isn’t the best for unloading luggage. Will definitely use stays again, very friendly, polite staff which go the extra mile. My only gripe would be the check in & out times. Midday to midday would be much better for the premium price you pay.
The pictures don't do the apartment justice! It's a very comfortable place to come back to on your travels. It's location in the middle of York means nothing is more than a walk away and you do not need to navigate the public transport systems if you don't want to. Pleanry of lovely places to eat close by tpp if you want an evening 'close-to-home'.
Overally very pleased. The property definitely has character and quirky features but we liked it. Rooms were clean and decor nice too. Couldnt really find fault other than to say parking can be a problem. Inaumed for George street as suggested which was full so had to drive around. Took me about 20 mins of searching the council website to find parking allocated to r18 permit - would be useful to include this i feel in your welcome pack.
The apartment was well kept, clean and had everything there one could ask for in a short stay. The location was nice, as it was about a 15 min walk or less to the center of the city were there's always activities and food to enjoy.
This was our second stay at 123 Nunnery Lane, which is well located for seeing our family who live in York. It is next to Bishopthorpe Road, which has a great collection of independent shops and eateries as well as a couple of convenience stores. Rowntree park is just down the road, There is no parking at the property, but it isn’t too far from a car park. We didn’t use the car all week as we walked into York every day - a pleasant 10-15 minutes to the centre. It is an easy walk from the railway station. The flat is stylishly decorated and there was plenty of room for the two of us. T...more
Couldn't have wished for a better location, on one side you're right on the wall and seconds into the city center whilst nestled in Bishy a wonderful artisan area with a fabulous range of shops. The property has everything you need and more with a higher than average spec, there's everything you could possibly need and more and everything top quality !! Beautiful artwork throughout .. a private gallery in its own right. Street parking with permit provided was never a problem although no place directly outside to unload the car however that was simply because I was there on a long stay with a l...more
Quirky but well thought out property in center of York. Stay spoilt by no hot water and no heating. Calls and text to support number not returned. Internet TV didn't work. Staff in office unresponsive.
Overall a fine stay but some things could be improved: Parking permit available on arrival - we got a ticket Better quality bedding (pillows and mattress) Hessian carpet as you come out of the bathroom isn't pleasant No blinds in bedroom - v strange! Very noisy from upstairs - sounded as if the people walking around upstairs were in the bedroom. Small milk in the fridge would have been helpful.
We had a 3 night stay for New Year. We liked the position of the cottage but we were disappointed with the facilities. We couldn’t get the TV’s in the bedrooms to work. A hairdryer in 1 bedroom didn’t work. And on New Year’s Eve we didn’t have any hot water. We turned on a switch we believed would be the immersion heater and contacted emergency support. We had cold showers. The next morning the water was hot but the boiler made a loud noise when we turned the thermostat down. We feel the property lacks sufficient crockery for 4 people to make a meal. The cafetière was for 1 person but there i...more
Enjoyed the space and the extra touches of the record player etc. The property needs a little attention in the general maintenance, stairs rickety, washing machine no button to start, foot bar not secured to bar stools, filled sink over the overflow and leaked out under the sink unit. Also the rugs on the wooden floor are lethal when walking around. Could benefit from a better equipped kitchen Enjoyed the space very much, large, bright. Easy check-in/check-out. Great location.
The house is well located for a city break, 5mins zigzagging through some back lanes and you’re within the inner city walls via monk gate. Procedures are swift and self explanatory. The property itself has seen many generations of guests which is mainly felt in the bed and reception rooms. Kitchen and bath are best for cleanliness. The cleaners know their job. There is a black throw on the double bed that might need to be exchanged or properly cleaned as it does not smell good anymore. Upon arrival the house was cold which was not very welcoming, it needed a whole evening to get warmer and bei...more
House was approx 25 mins walking distance from City Centre. Storage space limited in some of the rooms and some areas of the house looked as if decor still had to be completed and could have been tidied up. Beds in all the rooms apart from main room were very low and maybe not ideal for older people Weather was nice but sadly couldnt make use of garden as felt it still needed to be finished Nice welcome box left for us on arrival, but unfortunately couldnt use the coffee as no percolator in the house. Oh and bring your hairdryer, nothing to be found
Excellent apartment in a great location for visiting York. The only disappointment was that some areas such as the bathroom did not appear to have been cleaned prior to our arrival. Other than this, I would recommend it.
Generally it’s a good experience. But delivery sometimes called us through the outside entry system although it is not our package.
Firstly and most importantly the studio was spotless when we arrived, very good cleaning, as you'd expect while still in a pandemic. A rather nice hamper awaited which added to the wow when we got there. The bed was lovely and certainly no problems there. Plenty of plug sockets, more than anyone could need. But general decor was lovely and welcoming. But unfortunately there are a few things I would pick up on, that all in all really did change my opinion on the stay. Firstly, I could hear every movement from the people upstairs. I wouldn't expect full sound proofing but when it comes to wo...more
Unfortunately we thought previous reviews might have been exaggerating on the amount of noise you can hear, in particular from the 2 bedrooms at the front of the property... How wrong we were! There is a lot of noise and I'm afraid mostly from people after a night out. You can hear every part of peoples conversations. We stayed for 5 nights and were woken up by noise every night/early morning and not just a few minutes, one night was over an hour we were kept up, at around 3am (and this was a week night, not the weekend). The property itself is extremely clean, great layout, and an exce...more
We stayed in the cottage for a week long 'staycation'. The cottage is tucked away as part of the Raithwaite estate, and benefits from the calm and quiet surroundings, as well as the facilities from the nearby house. The location was perfect. Big enough to have enough comfort, but close enough to the beach to make the walk not feel like a chore. The cottage was well presented, and was very clean and tidy. The facilities were excellent, and no issues with the TV set up. There was a small courtyard area outside the front which we made good use of too. I would recommend this propert...more
The apartment was as expected however the main problem was car parking. The information pack that is supplied by 'Stay York' suggests the closest car park is Shambles Q Park which isn't correct. Having taken this information at face value and having pre-booked with Q Park and paid pennies short of £70 for 3 nights parking it was extremely disappointing to find that parking was available outside the apartment block. Admittedly the charges would have been similar to that at Q Park however it would have been more convenient given that the walking distance of approximately 500 metres from the apar...more
(a) Installations needed some maintenance, which at some point was fixed (shower water got cold very fast; the smell from the family bathroom drains were unsavoury). (b) We were counting with on-street parking, in front of the house, which was actually not available; on the other hand, the landlord always paid for the parking facility bills. (c) House keeping was cleared mentioned during the booking and also stated by the welcoming pack, however, once we'v settled, we'd been informed there will be no cleaning service, at all. (d) We should have extended our staying for a bit longer, but the ag...more
