Great stay, lovely apartments in greatlocation. Highly recommend these apartments in the centre of york
Never doubt to stay again! Close to town and with plenty of choice of restaurants. Pleasant apartment to stay !
Lovely comfortable apartment only 5 minutes walk from Minster and centre of York. This is our second stay in this apartment so highly recommended.
Located in the city centre in a really nice and quite area. Close to local shops. The apparent is modern it provides all the things you might need. The bathroom was huge!!
I absolutely loved staying in this apartment. It's close to the City and is extremely comfortable. It's also beautifully furnished.
10 Cocoa Suites is a beautiful modern studio apartment. It is situated within the city walls and just a short walk from York centre, close to many lovely bars and restaurants, despite the location the apartment is very quiet. Inside it is very well appointed with everything needed for a comfortable stay. All fittings and finishes are modern and well cared for. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
We come every year to York from Somerset for Christmas shopping. It is a wonderful place to shop with a great Christmas atmosphere. We have stayed at 14 Cloisters Walk for many years now. Dawn is a wonderful host making sure every comfort is catered for with a bubbly enthusiasm, always making us welcome with an ever surprising welcome pack. The house is in a perfect position just outside the city walls so that we can keep going back to drop off our shopping before going back for more. It is always in excellent condition and I think the only thing that could improve it is if it was snowing...more
The wardrove in this room is a bit small. It is a bit complicate to go in with so many codes. Furthernore, I did not receive them the firs day
Hey, yeh no complaints with the flat, may-bees too hot when sun shinning, so much glass, wonderfully high up, peaceful once up there.....its a long way from parking up, and we found that with entrance being on the main street, not so good. Thats how we saw it anyways....no complaints with actual property or booking, as i said its lovely once up there.
This says it all: we planned to be there for a month but ended up staying for almost three. The condo is in the middle of the city and a short walk to everything - grocery, shops, restaurants, tourist sites. No need for a car. The kitchen is well equipped, the place is bright and airy, and the owners very nice. Would be hard to find a better place in a more central location that this one. We hope to return in the future!
This is our second stay at this house and we will definitely visit again. Location is within 5-10 minute walk of the city centre so perfect. The house has plenty of space for four people and the bedrooms are a great size as well as the main living area having two armchairs and double sofa all very comfy! Decor throughout the house is stylish , clean and modern with traditional touches. The kitchen doubles as a dining room and is a very good size. We love this house and as we have now been twice it feels very much like a second home!!
Charming sitting room, modern kitchen (well equipped but no coffee machine), lovely bedrooms (one of the bathrooms requires updating), Orangerie Cafe next door but didn’t detract at all. Great for family get together, plenty of space. Limited dog walking from the house itself and cattle grid to cross to leave the grounds if on foot with dogs so not the best for four legged friends.
I use this place regularly when I visit York for business. Its clean, comfortable, convenient and centrally located.
102 Westgate is a lovely flat in a large modern apartment building, overlooking the River Ouse. The location is excellent, and the flat itself is modern and well-equipped. It is kept impeccably clean.
The apartment is really new and very well equipped. Since we've got our bikes with us the trip into York's center took only 3 minutes, on foot perhaps 10. So the location of the apartment is very good, Also a supermarket is only 5 minutes away on foot. The apartment is really nice. There are only two suggestions concerning the equipment: An extractor hood would avoid false alarms of the smoke detector in the kitchen, even if is only a circulating air model. An a fan would help to move the air in the rooms. Because the windows open to the same side, no natural "cross ventilation" is possi...more
I have to say that if this flat belonged to me, I would not want to rent it to anyone else, because the flat is so great. when I first saw the flat, the sound from my heart was "WOW" and thought that the landlord must be very generous! I enjoyed my holiday in York not only the beautiful city but also the comfortable flat. It has everything a person need for holiday home. The properties and amenities are of course sufficient, most importantly the overall environment and atmosphere were just perfect to me. Staying at such a wonderful flat, my holiday in York this summer definitely has b...more
We stayed at Emperors Wharf for Christmas week. The arrangements to gain access to the car park worked well. The first thing we noticed was the cleanliness of the property, which is excellent. It is ideal for 3 people with all the kitchen appliances needed, even to make a full Christmas dinner, which is quite unusual. The dishwasher proved to be very useful. The location is excellent for wandering round the city centre and it proved useful having a garage. We enjoyed coming back to the apartment at night and being able to relax whilst we looked out at the river. We will certainly return, hope...more
As I work overseas, and no longer have a base in York, I've booked this house a few times now. Clearly if I could have found better, I would have stayed there insted, but, its the best I can find. My only comment has nothing to do with the property, but its the downside of being so close to Micklegate, and the noise of the drunken people returning home late at night. Other that, No: 7 is a charming property.
Very nicely put together house with great location for both York centre and for walks along the river and out to the countryside. We didn’t touch the car when we were there for the week. Everything you need and nice extras. Spotless. It is a little dark and there is some wear on furnishings, but nothing at all a problem. We went as a family and I don’t believe we were asked whether we wanted two doubles or a twin, the twin is the master with a second small double room, again not really a problem but made up as two doubles for us. Parking and street narrow - I was a bit intimidated as...more
We really enjoyed our week at this beautiful apartment. The location was beside the river - close to lots of restaurants, pubs & cafes. It was very near the railway museum, which is a really enjoyable visit. (just allow at least 2/3 hours - maybe more} It is so interesting! And we are NOT train enthusiasts! The walks around the city walls were very nice - but windy! The apartment itself is so comfortable. Really well presented. And very modern. A lot of thought has gone into the interior design of the proprty. The balcony is lovely. (such a pity that we went while the river was in flood & the...more
We were fortunate to be there in lovely weather but the apartment was unbearably hot. We didn’t have the heating on! It was too hot to sleep but we couldn’t open the bedroom windows as there was so much noise in the street till all hours of the night. That of course is not the fault of the accomodation which was wonderful. Loved having the washing/ drier machine as were traveling for many weeks.
There was 4 adults and 2 children and plenty of room for us all. The house is beautifully maintained with many modern facilities that made our weekend away feel luxurious. The team at York Stays were helpful from the first phone call and provided us with all the information we needed. It's a quiet street but 10 minutes walk from all of the main attractions. We highly recommend 48 Fairfax Street!
Liked the short walk to the main York highlights and to Tesco Bathroom, bedroom and kitchen were well equipped. Would recommend to friends and also York as a interesting, manageable and historical small city to visit. Bill from Sydney, Australia
We had a great experience staying at the Smithy for a couple of weeks. It's surprisingly quiet for being just off of the main road, and there are several pubs and restaurants nearby for meals. The nearest grocery stores are a 10-15 min walk away, which is a bit inconvenient if you're planning on cooking, but it's easy enough to pop by on your way home as they're on the way from the city centre. For sightseeing, there is an easy bus route into York, or a lovely walk along the river if the weather's nice. The cottage itself was charming - extremely well renovated and modern, with lots of light, ...more
this townhouse is in a excellent location with good facilities, easy walking distance to all attractions and plenty of choice for restuarants and pubs.
A super property in a great location Would definitely return and recommend Had a great stay loved it
We greatly enjoyed staying at this apartment. The kitchen was well stocked and easy to use and the bedrooms were roomy and comfortable. Mark and Liz were very friendly and helpful at our arrival and provided plenty of information about how everything in the apartment worked.
Cocoa suites is next to the river. It's a nice place. Everything was great! The apartment is really comfortable and the value for money it's really excellent, because York it's an expensive place.
We enjoyed staying at Queen's Court again. Great location, well appointed apartment. Couple of maintenance issues but otherwise excellent. Deposit returned quickly
Excellent location and property. Thank you for the biscuits and other treats. Stays very responsive when we had a problem with key safe and called us back within 10 minutes (on a Sunday evening). Disappointed that we had to have a cold shower on the first morning as the water was cold, it was a large tank so it took a while to heat up the water Suggest that Stays checks that boiler is on before guests arrive, as not something we would check ourselves.
Excellent location, within walking distance to the city centre. All mod cons available for a comfortable stay. The penthouse seemed insulated from the hustle and bustle and traffic noise. Safe car parking space. Enjoyed our stay, thank you.
Well located house , does what it says on the tin. Not luxurious but suitable for the price. Showers and bath cold if others using . Bit awkward that only bathroom on main floor is an en suite. However it’s clean and homely , location great , agency was helpful , would go again .
Excellent location for York and a good base for locations further afield. Quiet and helpful neighbours just an added bonus
Selected for its proximity to the main tourist area of York - it did not disappoint. A very short walking distance to all the main attractions in the city and the main train station. Booking was quick and easy, with confirmation received in good time (considering we booked during the Christmas break). Nice modern finish in the property with sufficient cooking equipment for a short stay. It is worth noting that parking is limited on the street out front of the property and the road is very tight when cars are double parked. Would recommend the property and booking company to friends and will us...more
This apartment is ideal as it is close to restaurants, bars and places of interest. It was very clean and modern, the only slight criticism is that the bedrooms were quite small but as we didn't spend much time in them, it really didn't matter. The agent was quick to answer any questions I had before our visit and the instructions to access the apartment and building worked perfectly first time - always a bonus! Definitely recommended.
A great place to stay for a city break in York. Central location, simple appartment with everything you need for self catering.
The location is excellent for exploring all the main sites in York centre and there are lots of good eating places very near. The apartment is well equipped and is very quiet. Would recommend it and would stay again on a future visit to York.
We had a great stay at the flat. It was very centrally located and was in perfect condition. I would highly recommend this flat to anyone who wants the comfort of a home away from home.
10 Stonegate is a lovely, clean and quiet apartment with comfortable beds and beautiful views of York Minster right in the heart of the city. We had a wonderful holiday there. More cutlery would be appreciated by future guests.
The ease of getting into the accomodation was great. The parking on the street outside was a definite positive in a city where parking is very difficult and expensive. Unfortunately there were a few little things when we arrived. We appreciated the coffee and milk but the bread however was not as useful without something i.e. butter to put on it. The dishwasher was full but clean and the bin was full, both of these we could, and did, empty but do not expect to do so when entering a property. There is a note to contact the cleaning lady if there were any issues but we would not call someone ...more
Myself and my boyfriend recently stayed at 316 Westgate for an early Christmas break away. We have stayed at Westgate in the past so we knew the location of the complex. It is very central and close to all the attractions York has to offer. The complex itself is spotlessly clean and clearly well maintained and had a festive atmosphere when you walked in with the lovely Christmas tree. As for our apartment, again spotless and well maintained, lovely en suite bedroom and a relaxing living/dining area. Also we had everything we needed supplied for us. If there was one tiny I will say observation...more
We have stayed at this apartment (and no 14 next door) on several occasions. The apartment is comfortable and well kept, and an easy 15 minute stroll into town. Morrison and Lidl Supermarkets 2 minutes in the car, and various local takeaways nearby if you dont want to go into town - the fish and chip shop is excellent Word of warning - Beware of the Private Parking Enforcement Officers - make sure that you clearly display the permits in your windscreens - first job when you arrive. We were busy unloading bags from the car when we arrived, with the car parked outside the apartment, and...more
The apartment is great, excellent location and it has all you need to stay comfortable. It is big enough for four persons.
We have stayed here 4 times and the apartment is well maintained, in an excellent location and very well appointed. Ideal for 1 or 2 couples and very quiet and completely secure with on site parking a real bonus.
Excellent location for York and for us the easy access to the racecourse and access to the City wall were a bonus. The Bishy road availability is also a big plus for shopping etc . The balcony was a lovely feature especially in the evening. Negative points were the lack of a pint of milk on arrival, the oven not working on the first evening (though the agents fixed this the following day), the dining table seemed to us a bit like Caravaning in the 1960s,
Really enjoyed our stay. Amazing location close to everything we needed. The house worked really well for a family with teenagers. WiFi and a room each. Kitchen well equipped. Quite a bit of stair climbing as toilet on first floor. We enjoyed a wood fired pizza in garden of Bistro Guy on Gillygate, the walls walk from Bootham Bar to Monks bar great views of Minster with breakfast at Wheldrakes cafe.We caught bus from station to end of Claremont street on arrival but it’s an easy walk anyway. .
The apartment was virtually brand new and had everything we required for a lovely stay. It was clean and comfortable and very well furnished and right on the river with a lovely view and only a short walk to the shambles area and bars etc. There was always lots of hot water and shower was great infact we could not fault the apartment at all and next time we stay in York we will definitely stay there again if it is available and we have recommended it to our family and friends.
I always like to stay here when I am working in York - it is comfortable and convenient. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds are comfortable, its clean and close to the town and office. The staff at Stays (Anne and Chris) are very nice and pleasant to deal with. They always respond quickly and politely to any issues raised. I have a few concerns about security - on the past two occasions there have been mix ups over keys. This time a strange man entered my apartment by mistake which was quite frightening (it was soon sorted out and my fears were allayed by speaking to Chris on the phon...more
I stayed in cocoa suite 11 for 2 weeks. It is an axcellent accommodation, brand new, near the city center though in a very quiet area, in a former industrial building on the river completely restored, on the river which make all this a charming stay as well. It is fully equipped, perfectly clean, with WiFi, new tv. I would recommend it certainly. The only trifle is the bed a little too small for two people and the amount of money paid for a two week stay. They should offer discounts for long period . The rest is perfect.
I previously stayed in the Cocoa Loft and then moved to No 9 due to lengthening my stay. After staying in the Cocoa Loft I was disappointed with No 9. The layout was very different and the sofa was different to the pictures - not a huge problem. The studio was in good condition although the heating wasn't working. However, Chris/Rachel from Stays York ensured the heating was fixed the next day and were very helpful. No 9 wasn't laid out the same as the Cocoa Suite because it was a different shape. However, it wasn't as cosy and didn't have the same facilities e.g. no iron/ironboard etc. There ...more
Excellent location, great break and comfortable. There are a lot of stairs but the view of the minter is well worth it..
we all thought the property was fantastic the best any where and EMISTINA was fantastic THANK YOU hoping to meet you again
A great house and so close to the town centre. The house had a real homely feel, the 2 living rooms were great and the kitchen was well equipped. We even managed to cook a full Sunday roast! The bedrooms were of a good size and the beds were comfy, if a little soft in the master bedroom. The bathrooms were great especially the slipper bath. Unfortunately we couldn't get the water hot enough to run a really warm bath, but the shower pressure was good.
Stayed for few days 11th -14th July, nice apartment close to York centre, however.had a few issues, there were building works opposite side of the road, also had no hot water last night. Couldn't get going despite following instructions. Brings me to last issue because of Covid 19 weren't allowed to use manuals for devices.so.had problems sorting hob as it's an induction hob never used before (Tip need stainless steel pan)(doesn't work.with aluminium) After saying that would consider again as long as building works are complete
Great place for our family of five. Perfect location near to train station and all the museums that York has to offer.
The apartment is nicely located about a 10-15 minute walk from the beach, (and what a beach!) Car Park immediately to the rear, easy to access. Positives: The apartment is comfortable, and fairly well equipped. Double bed suited us, bed settee in main room OK for our 14-year-old daughter. Dishwasher, microwave, and washing machine all functioning. Overall it was clean on arrival, with clean bedding and towels (exceptions noted below). Some bedding/towels were missing on arrival but a phone call to Annabel and it was swiftly sorted! Negatives: Broken/cracked shower head in the bathroom needs...more
This is the second stay I have had in the Cocoa Loft. I have stayed in a couple of the other Cocoa Suites but they don't compare to the Cocoa Loft due to the way it is set out and storage etc. I like the set-up here and feel comfortable etc. The only slight negative this time was the kitchen area. The hob was stained and the floor was cracked and missing grout. Just a little bit of maintenance and it would be tip top again. I am looking at staying here again very soon. I would recommend the Cocoa Loft.
Lovely modern downstairs accommodation. Loads of fridge and cooking space. Nice big table to seat everyone and plenty of sofas. Upstairs, as others have said, is perhaps slightly less stylish but the beds are comfy. The en suites are small but functional and it was a real bonus having 5 en suites for 7 girls staying over a weekend. The location is spot on. A pleasant walk through the Museum gardens/ along Bootham and you’re in the centre of town. Couldn’t be better. Parking is a bonus, although you can’t really say there are 3 spaces as the third is just a public road. There are 2, which were ...more
Stayed for 5 nights over Christmas. 2 bedroom unit, Great location ; well-equipped. Needed a good clean.
The property was well situated (although youngsters outside McDonalds, which is directly opposite, were often very noisy!). It was clean & the beds comfortable but the sofa was very worn. It sleeps 7 but the lounge only has seating for four, or five if three people squash on the sofa. There was also a lack of crockery & glasses for that many. The shower curtain in one bathroom was only held up by about three rings & we had to screw the stair rail to the wall as it had become loose at one end & we felt it was dangerous. A shame as most of these complaints could be sorted with minimum effort & n...more
Fantastic holiday apartment on the main road between Bridlington and Filey and a 10 minute stroll to the beach through the beautifully maintained estate. The apartment was quiet and had everything we needed including a dishwasher, washing machine, Hairdryer, Iron and ironing board, towels, bedding and even a welcome pack. There were plenty of parking spaces (although the complex wasn’t full)and lots of outside space. My only criticism would be that the mattress could do with being replaced as it has seen better days. There was a pub, restaurant and chemist on site but we didn’t use them. ...more
I stayed at this property for 4 nights with my 5 year old child. I was really impressed by the cleanliness of the apartment on arrival. The sofa is in desperate need of replacing, so worn out we were sitting on springs which was very uncomfortable. The dvd player only worked for a short time and would then freeze and not play for some time. Due to this it took us the whole week to watch one dvd, which really disappointed my child who was desperate to stay up late and have a movie evening. We would recommend and come back to this property if the sofa was replaced!! We are regular v...more
A spotless, bright & perfectly located apartment with a fully equipped kitchen & blissfully comfy bed. It was right by the river, just across the bridge from the Minster, and next to the station. Parking was free and convenient. We loved the big light windows overlooking the memorial gardens, and comfortable sofa & chairs which meant we could just enjoy being there, even if it was raining. The block is modern & well-managed, with a lift to the 2nd floor. I'd recommend the place to anyone wanting to be close in to the city centre but somewhere quiet, comfortable and with a bit of green! It was ...more
Lovely little apartment, good location bus stop into Filey, Scarborough and Bridlington less than a 5 Minuite walk away. Good size apartment for a short stay and has everything you could realistically need. You will struggle to find anywhere better value for money.
Loved everything about the flat. Two things I wasn’t happy about. One is my booking was initially confirmed for another flat which showed it was available on HomeAway then the owners cancelled saying the property was already booked by someone else. Second time I booked this property it got confirmed and again it got cancelled by the owners saying there was a problem with the scheduling. Ultimately they gave me the property for a day less than I wanted. Other than that the check out time being 11 am was not convenient but that’s their rule so I guess acceptable.
Excellent location to city center. Parking was easy. The house when first walking in feels like the owners have just walked out the door. Their personal belongings are all over the house from clothes to mail and files of paperwork. When you read the handbook all the rules of what you can and can't do were explained in a nice way but these should be explained when booking.. Any cupboard or door with red spots your not allowed to be used which is OK but empty your clothes out the wardrobes you can use. Not allowed to sit on the chair in the master bedroom to do your make up, so provide one...more
we had a 5 day break in this apartment. It was very clean and felt safe in current covid crisis. Flat is comfortable and bright. Easy to walk to beach-15mins away and we had a long but lovely walk along beach to Filey. My only cticism is the bed - the mattress was very hard and the pillows were really thin. Given the obvious care spent on the rest of the apartment it seems crazy to skimp on something as simple to rectify as pillows!
Once again a most enjoyable stay will be returning again later in the year perfect place for a base for the lovely area with plenty of places to visit
Wonderful property, fantastic position, close to everything. Quiet and peaceful in the centre of the city. Loved the geese swimming by in the river Foss below the window.
The apartment was in a excellent location and was very clean and tidy. We had a brilliant stay in the apartment. Only issue was being given incorrect code to retrieve the keys but was soon sorted out with a phone call.
Clean apartment Everything you need is there So close to beach ! Be warned take toilet roll as you get 1 and there's no toilets on beach so beware !
All in all we enjoyed our stay,I love the location. We had an issue with the hot water on our first night, but after a quick phone call this was sorted the following day. Lovely clean apartment, just a little criticism over the dining chairs, could do with renewing as there is no padding left in them so made them quite uncomfortable as you sunk right down. Great value for money and would definately look to going back again.
The area and the site are great. The apartment needs a lot of work and the furnishings are very cheap and uncomfortable. The dining furniture was unusable, with badly sunken chairs. The lounge settee was also difficult to use for any length of time so we used a garden recliner that we’d brought from home. One of our first jobs was to re-hang a couple of curtains that came off their runners as soon as we touched them. By contrast the kitchen area was very good for a small apartment. Clean and with everything needed, and a nice welcome pack.
We liked our stay in York. Beautiful city and many things to do and to see. We even liked the house. But when we came back home we received an email that we had damaged a chair which we did not. But we had no proof so we did not get back the deposit we had paid. This felt really bad and we were so disappointed, that we do not have good memories anymore.
