We have stayed in 4 Bootham Row from 20th-23rd August and genuinely have really enjoyed ourselves. The location was perfect, literally a 2 minute walk before you find yourself in the main area of York. The apartment itself has everything you might possibly need, really lovely outdoor seating area. The room was super clean and really well presented. We can’t thank you enough for helping us when we needed you to and helping us to find this place under the circumstances! The ONLY thing I would possibly comment on is the pre-set thermostat was a bit annoying because it was a really warm night a...more
I would have no hesitation recommending this apartment for your stay in York . It is spotlessly clean, beautifully presented throughout and easily accessible to all amenities. I look forward to returning in the near future.
Overly Satisfied with the Cottage. Tbh the pictures don’t do it any justice whatsoever, the decor in this place was second to none. Absolutely stunning. Quite possibly the best air BnB we have ever used. Hats off to the owner. Highly recommended, perfect location.
My family & I stayed at Grande View for a week and had such a fantastic time. The house has such fantastic amenities, we used the hot tub ALOT the pool table had us entertained for hours not to mention the amazing cinema room, we all watched a film in there every night!! All of the beds were comfy & the baths/ showers were great for everyone trying to get ready. The location is great, it takes 8mins to get to Whitby harbour which is such a beautiful seaside town . We took the beautiful steam train from there to Pickering, which was a lovely trip. We visited Scarborough, York and Knaresboro...more
This was a lovely apartment and had all the amenities you require. The surrounding area is not great but the apartment itself is clean and tidy. The parking space was a bonus.
Really fantastic place, great location. My boys and I loved the pool table. The kitchen was well-equipped and the place had lots of original features from when it was a Maltings. Would recommend!
Located in the city centre in a really nice and quite area. Close to local shops. The apparent is modern it provides all the things you might need. The bathroom was huge!!
A beautifully presented and fully equipped cottage within walking distance of York city centre. Didn't use the car at all during our stay which was lovely. Middlethorpe village just down the road with some great pubs serving very good food. Stunning surroundings, very tranquil. The cottage has been finished to a very high standard with so much attention to detail. You can see a lot of love went into the renovations and the owners should be very proud of what they have created there. Definitely one to make a return visit to and recommend to others.
Brilliant apartment, clean and comfortable. Highly recommend and would definitely stay at the apartment again.
This is a really amazing property. Very modern, clean, spacious with an absolutely stunning interior. We felt instantly comfortable and it really is home away from home. Lovely touches with the Alexa and such comfortable beds. It is less than a 5 minute walk into the town centre so accessible for all bars, restaurants, river trips, shops etc. You will not be disappointed when you stay here.
Excellent place, great location, lovely personal touch with a bottle of fizz on arrival! Couldn’t fault it!
Era la ubicación que necesitábamos y el dpto resultó ideal. Cómodo, limpio, con todo lo que hace falta cuando uno recién llega, en nuestro caso desde Argentina.
The property was ideal for our weekend stay with three children. A television in every room impressed the latter
Great location, very peaceful. The cow kennels is done to a very high standard, well maintained. Guy and family are very friendly, will do anything to make your stay enjoyable. We will definitely be returning.
Lovely cottage within a short walk of the beach, handy for Whitby and local drives. Lovely facilities and walking on site.
Unbeatable location and very clean. Thank you for hosting us. We were also allowed early checkin for free after calling day of which was super helpful
The city centre location was wonderful, it was so easy to get to all the tourist spots, and the great eateries! The apartment is beautiful, good sized and well appointed. The only thing missing is a charger point for shavers/electric toothbrushes, so bring an adaptor to use in a standard wall plug. We'll definitely look to stay here again if we come back up to York.
The apartment had everything we needed for a lovely comfortable stay. We loved the welcome pack too.
This is one of the nicest cottages we've stayed in. It was immaculately clean and well equipped with everything you needed. Loved the extra touches, welcome pack of teabags, coffee, biscuits, milk and butter. Especially liked the prosecco we were given on New year's Eve. I would definitely recommend these cottages and we will definitely stay again. 5 mins from park and ride, and another 6 mins on the bus into York.
Amazing location overlooking York Minster right in the centre of town. Apartment is like a home from home, everything was clean and tidy and very comfortable. Would recommend staying here to anyone and can’t wait to stay again myself
We loved this apartment, very comfortable and absolutely spotlessly clean and in a great location for all the sights in York and going out for meals in the evening .
What a gem! We stayed in the Tractor Shed, which is absolutely gorgeous. Two huge king size bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area. To top it off there is a log burner and, as we arrived in December, we were greeted by a lovely big Xmas tree. The owners are amazing, before arriving I received a phone call, followed by a WhatsApp message with all the details I needed, including a video about how to find the barn. I won’t spoil it, but there are some treats waiting for you when you arrive! Also, if you don’t fancy cooking, there is a country cafe right next ...more
Loved it here! Such a lovely cosy feel. The raised step and the slightly wider doors meant I could be with mum (who’s in a wheelchair) at Christmas. The owners were lovely too and were friendly and helpful. Couldn’t have been any better.
Wow what a lovely house, 5mins walk from the minster. Couldn’t ask for anymore, modern, clean, comfortable! We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend a stay here.
We loved our week here. We needed a central place with car parking and this was ideal. The apartment was spotlessly clean, comfortable and modern with everything we needed - the welcome box was a nice unexpected extra too. Great shower! Would definitely book again and will recommend.
Very clean, well equipped accommodation. Incredibly thoughtful welcome goodies on arrival. Fantastic location and immaculately presented. Thanks for a very enjoyable stay!
This apartment is brand new and very well furnished. Great location, superb specification with underfloor heating throughout. Car park is secure with plenty of space.
Great location for access into York. Would have no hesitation booking again on a future visit to York.
Lovely apartment ,very clean& it was lovely to find milk in the fridge when we arrived, there was plenty of tea & coffee sugar etc. Also lovely little welcome hamper. Very impressed with the lovely designer bedding. There was also a very decent hair dryer . There were a couple of things I would change ,the window blinds didn't cover the Windows very well, I think curtains would be better. & maybe a few more towels. You only get 1 bath towel & 1 hand towel per person ,that's ok for a weekend but we went for a week. Also a very well equipped kitchen. Not that I did .much cooking
Comfortable stay and brilliant location. Perfect for a short stay in York..............................
The wardrove in this room is a bit small. It is a bit complicate to go in with so many codes. Furthernore, I did not receive them the firs day
This is our second stay in the apartment. It is ideally located for York Minster,The Shambles,York Market and many other York attractions. It is kept warm by central heating and the facilities are all there, including cooker, kettle, toaster, fridge and even a dishwasher!!
All written above. I don’t want to arise anymore and you should not ask for more as it is annoying
Stayed at Castle Chambers for 3 weeks The location was ideal - 5 mins from the City Centre and all attractions The apartment was well maintained and beds were comfy The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and appliances Would highly recommend staying here Suggestions 1. Wish there was a Dryer in the apartment as ours was a long stay 2. Essential supplies like salt & sugar could have been there ...
No 42 is a spacious and beautifully decorated place to stay, warm and cosy, with everything you could need provided. Walking distance from the city centre, and with off street parking, it’s well located, and has a lovely deli right next door. Would definitely stay again.
What a fab stay at Lumby Hall, a lovely welcome from Rachel on arrival and the house was absolutely spotless...lovely mix of new and old decor with lots recently renovated and everything you need for a week away....great location just a few minutes from M1 and a 20 minute walk into South Milford which has a great pub for food...all in all a brilliant property/location and holiday!
Bright family from California. We absolutely loved our stay. I would love to purchase this flat and visit all the time. Amazing, perfect location center of everything. Charming decor. Enter down an ally that makes you feel like your in A Harry Potter scene. Lovely bed upstairs and perfect sleeper downstairs. Gift pack upon arrival was lovely. Can’t wait to visit again. If your in a rental car, parking may be an issue but we took a train and arrived by taxi. Can’t say enough. Love this place!
Had a wonderful stay in this excellent apartment Highly recommend Spacious, clean with excellent views from balcony
5 star apartment, perfect for a large family (possibly not so much for active toddlers as there are 3 flights of steep stairs) or couples. The view of York Minster from the balcony was stunning. (A couple of wee seats would have been nice to have been able to sit out on the balcony but still beautiful) Beds extremely comfortable. Cleaned to a high standard. Lots of clean towels. Loads of space to sit, eat and relax. And 3 bathrooms were definitely needed for 8 of us! But the best part was not even 5 min walk, you are in the heart of York. Which is possibly thee most magial place we have ever ...more
Really nice, right on the river, we had a small problem with the shower which we rang about and they got it fixed same day with no problem at all - can't ask for more than that really.
We had a lovely stay at Quayside great views across the river & in a perfect location for all the amenities that York has to offer. The apartment was very well equipped for our stay
We had to extend our stay several days and the host was very accommodating. We would definitely stay there again!
Located in a great place, next to the castle. The flat was very clean and slept comfortably. Value for money
This is the best place to stay in York hands down and the owners are absolutely lovely. Everyone goes above and beyond. Simply the best!
Enjoyed my stay at 10 the tannery the flat was cosy comfortable and in a great location Thanks for a lovely stay
The house was very clean and confortable. With everything you need to spend a week exploring wonderful York and surrondings. It was apreciated they leave us two tablets for the dishwasher and also soap for the washing machine, enough for one week. They also have some guides and books about Yorkshire that I used to find places to visit, eat, etc. In general, a wonderful stay. Thank you very much. My only warning is the stairs, they are not long but they are very steep, not suitable for small kids or older people.
We had an amazing stay at HQ Penthouse! The apartment was fab for a a weekend getaway! Interiors were beautiful and fresh. Some lightbulbs missing from laps but that did not affect our stay! Location was amazing for taking strolls into the town centre and exploring what York has to offer! The terrace space added an extra space for relaxation and gathering your thoughts. Would highly recommend this apartment for anyone looking for a touch of Luxury!
Fantastic place, Fantastic location, very relaxing, close to all shops, pubs and sights, just what was needed would book again
The apartment is really new and very well equipped. Since we've got our bikes with us the trip into York's center took only 3 minutes, on foot perhaps 10. So the location of the apartment is very good, Also a supermarket is only 5 minutes away on foot. The apartment is really nice. There are only two suggestions concerning the equipment: An extractor hood would avoid false alarms of the smoke detector in the kitchen, even if is only a circulating air model. An a fan would help to move the air in the rooms. Because the windows open to the same side, no natural "cross ventilation" is possi...more
The apartment was very clean and tastefully furnished. 2 good sized bedrooms with nice en-suite in one. Apartment is in a great central location just off Blake St. Partial views of York Minster and the rooftops of central York. Free parking pass provided with car park a 5 minute walk away. Homeless did sometimes use main access door area at street level to sit in or sleep but not really an issue. Overall a great central apartment that I would highly recommend and would certainly stop here again.
Stayed over a weekend at Mabels house , location was a 15 minute walk from walls, house was recently refurbished. Lovely welcome hamper .. Kitchen and patio was brilliant although weather for October was very sunny. StayYork looked after us very well.cheers Bea..x
The Smithy was excellent everything you need in the property for a great holiday, I would thoroughly recommend anyone looking for a quiet place to stay and relax. Having a bus service running in to York every few minutes is perfect no need to take your car.
Apartment in excellent location. Fantastic stay. Awesome views. Everything within walking distance. Will definitely be back.
An Excellent apartment only a few minutes walk to the city. Spotlessly clean. Had a lovely wake up call with the geese taken flight in the mornings. Loved the place.
Small but perfectly formed! We stayed as a family of four (2 adults, 2 children). Great location, very clean and all the home comforts you need for a city break. On street parking was great, but the street is very narrow so a bit of a squeeze for wider cars. All and all, a great place to stay.
A lovely, cosy and well appointed house to stay in during a cold snap. A quiet street. We came by train so a very handy location. Close to the town centre. Perfect for river walks and to pop to the excellent Minster Inn a few streets away.
We stayed here for the last 6 nights of our honeymoon and it was a great place to stay. So modern and everything you need. It is literally on the door step of the city. It has the bonus of a secure car park included. Very comfortable bed and living area. Would definitely stay again. Also the staff at Stays York were fantastic, they sorted this apartment out for us as we had to leave our other accommodation (not booked through them), We had a slight problem on check out but they sorted within minutes (we couldn’t get out of the car park, it’s that secure). Nice touch was a bag of bits includin...more
Liked the short walk to the main York highlights and to Tesco Bathroom, bedroom and kitchen were well equipped. Would recommend to friends and also York as a interesting, manageable and historical small city to visit. Bill from Sydney, Australia
Small but perfect for a city break. I was staying for work but it really felt like a holiday in this beautiful little flat. Great to have on site parking too. A very short and pleasant walk into the city and York was gorgeous. The welcome pack and all the facilities were fantastic, would highly recommend.
My second stay at Cocoa Suites this time in the Waterline apartment. Cosy apartment ideal for 2 people but could fit 4, wonderfully clean and tidy, great stay.
Very comfortable even if access arrangements were complex. Shower cubicle needs a new gasket to avoid flooding.
We were very impressed with the overall cleanliness of this property; it is also extremely well-equipped. The location is very good, both for ease of walking to/from the railway station (a little over half a mile) and for access to the centre of York (around 1 mile to York Minster). There is also a very useful local parade of shops and restaurants. In terms of comfort, the living area accommodated 3 adults adequately, but would have been a squeeze for 4; the TV on the wall is mounted a little high for comfortable viewing without reclining seating.
We really enjoyed our stay at 48 Fairfax Street, York. The property is in excellent condition and perfect location for easy access into York. The property was well equipped and clean. Parking was a bit tricky, large vehicles will struggle through the narrow streets. The owners made us feel welcome, with some treats. Will definitely stay here again.
Lovely house, exceptionally clean and presented , with well equipped kitchen, quality furnishings. Smart tv with access to streaming channels. We do prefer self catering accommodation than hotels if staying for a few days in order to relax in comfort, which we had here. Parking pass helpful, although at times couldn't get near the house due to cars parking without one ? In terms of personal comfort, due to an accident with a lawnmower cable I do have mobility issues. I found it difficult to climb the stairs to first floor because the banister ends before stairs turn to landing. Which was a s...more
Apartment very well located. Short easy walk to York Minister, shops, museums. York has loads to do. Easy walking access to supermarkets. Few minutes walk to join the York Wall. Apartment has everything you could need a great quiet space to chill after a busy day. Real bonus of having a parking space with the apartment.
Cocoa suites is next to the river. It's a nice place. Everything was great! The apartment is really comfortable and the value for money it's really excellent, because York it's an expensive place.
We greatly enjoyed staying at this apartment. The kitchen was well stocked and easy to use and the bedrooms were roomy and comfortable. Mark and Liz were very friendly and helpful at our arrival and provided plenty of information about how everything in the apartment worked.
Great location very clean 2 bedroom flat . Nice little touch with the goodies very close to all restaurants and shops
We would rate our experience at this Air bnb as a positive one. The location was perfect as it was on a lovely street which featured lots of bars, restaurants, shops, and even a bakery which we where regulars at for some freshly baked sausage rolls. The location isn’t too central though so we weren’t disturbed by noise at night. The apartment itself had all the facilities we required for our short city break. The place itself was clean and modern, however, one of the only draw backs for me was the size of the shower as I’m a 6ft 4 broad man. There was also only one roll of toilet paper. The ap...more
We enjoyed staying at Queen's Court again. Great location, well appointed apartment. Couple of maintenance issues but otherwise excellent. Deposit returned quickly
This is a small apartment however it was quite nice. Pros, Location ,cleanliness, new build. Cons, Small parking space, small bathroom, only a double bed ( i doubt a bigger bed would fit) Heating is controlled by HIVE i think, you can only manually boost it , so it was a little cold at times. I would say these are only minor issues.Apart from the bed we were comfortable.
Our second stay, we have visited York many times before and this is now our favourite property, ideally located just outside the city walls. Would definitely recommend!
Locate about 10 minutes walk from city centre. Quiet and private. Convenience as nearby supermarket and shopping area within 5 minutes walk.
Great weekend. Accommodation perfect. Good location - 20 minutes walk from the railway station. Excellent restaurants nearby.
We had a wonderful stay at 76 Nunnery Lane! It was very comfortable for our family of 5 adults and 2 children. Very comfortable beds, with luxurious bedding and towels. Well equipped kitchen, and powerful shower in the bathroom! This house has been very well renovated, and is in an excellent location for walking into the lovely city center of York and is right across the street from a delightful bakery! Restaurants and a Sainsbury's express are just around the corner. The couple of queries we had during our stay were quickly answered by the Stays York staff, and we were very impressed wi...more
Superb location and a lovely apartment. The only downside as others have mentioned is that the shower in the bathroom is really tiny, which is strange because there is plenty of space for a bigger one. Otherwise absolutely great
We have been coming to York from Somerset for many years now for our Christmas shopping. We love it here. This is the second year we have stayed at Moatside Gate. It is convenient for the shops and restaurants. The house is well equipped and clean. The only thing missing was a few Christmas decs but I assume because of Covid this was not possible. Will be back in 2022 hopefully if all goes well.
Lovely apartment overlooking York minster . Very modern and contemporary with all mod cons. When we arrived we had a lovely little hamper from stays of York . This contained a few essentials and some local luxury items . Very nice indeed. There were four of us so ideal with double room each . Few issues were the first room had no mirror . So difficult with makeup etc . There was one in bathroom but this steamed up after use . The en-suite room had a mirror but this was not near a plug so difficult to see when drying hair . There is no parking but the stays York lady advised us of times an...more
apartment was local to all amenities. excellent communication from the letting agency. Would definitely recommend a stay here. Very quiet area. I will certainly stay here again
Overall I would definitely recommend Castle Chambers for your stay in York. My husband and I stayed in a 2 bed apartment (both rooms en-suite) with another couple. The apartment is modern, clean and in a great central location for exploring York. It has all the amenities you would expect for a short stay, and the check-in process was straight forward. Only minor downside was the noise on the street outside the apartment in the early hours on weekend nights. I think this was when the pubs closed, so possibly to be expected in a central city location. Otherwise a great stay and very happy.
We stayed at the apartment for the purpose of visiting the races and sightseeing in York, and the location of the apartment was great. We were a little apprehensive at first as it overlooks the Royal Mail sorting office, but if the windows were closed there was very little noise. The apartment was clean and was very well equipped. Stays York we’re extremely helpful with a query I had prior to arrival. All in all a very pleasant stay and would recommend and book again.
We were very pleased with this property. The location was perfect as we had rail passes and the station was about a five minute walk away, and the centre of the enchanting medieval city was only a five minute walk across the river where there is a Marks and Spencer's food floor and most other types of retail outlets. A beautifully renovated flat, with a very spacious and comfortable feel, and we felt we were coming to a relaxing "home" every evening. The kitchen is beautifully appointed with lots of counter space and very well equipped with kitchenware, dishes, etc. The master bedroom was...more
We loved staying here, it was very comfortable and perfect location. We mentioned we were vegan and they very kindly provided oat milk and some outstanding vegan chocolate for us. We would stay here again if it was better value for money but it was very expensive.
I highly recommend this place. Very confortable with everything you need. Perfect for couples and families with children. It is the second time we stay here. We Feel as in Home! Perfect location in the centre of York.
Excellent location, lovely apartment has everything you need! Only let down was that the hot water went cold (freezing cold) after one 10 minute shower, which isn’t ideal when trying to get ready to go out for the day on a cold rainy day! We did try and resolve this on the first day however it did the same again by the second day and heard nothing back after emailing. This was the only let down, otherwise it’s an ideal place to stay. Would consider returning if the water issue was sorted.
The location is excellent for exploring all the main sites in York centre and there are lots of good eating places very near. The apartment is well equipped and is very quiet. Would recommend it and would stay again on a future visit to York.
We had a pleasant stay at Apartment 8. It was spotless clean, had everything we needed and the gift basket was a great surprise. The only downside is that we can only wnter the flat at 4 pm. It was hard to spend 6 hours outside with a toddler.
We have stayed at this flat for a number of years and have always found it well equipped and comfortable. There are some signs of wear and tear eg The surface of the kitchen top is lifting, the roller blind in the bathroom is stained , however overall these did not detract from our holiday.
Lovely cottage with nice furnishings in a lovely location. Although the kitchen needs more basic equipment: more cutlery (only 3 dessert spoons), potato peeler, bread bin. Also the cleaner needs to invest in a feather duster as cobwebs everywhere! However I would stay again.
Lovely modern and well thought out apartment, very clean and well equipped. Welcome pack a nice touch. One of us found bed to be very comfortable the other wasn’t to keen, ( the only reason I gave it 4 stars on comfort) but it would not stop us booking the apartment again. Would have been more convenient to have 2 sets of keys for the apartment front door and more detailed instructions for the heating. I look forward to staying again when we are next in York.
The apartment was fantastic and location couldn’t have been better. Unfortunately that’s where the good stuff stopped. The bed was horrendous… the worst I’ve ever slept on, sync I’ve slept in a lot of hostels and cheap hotels over the years. The customer service was awful… completely indifferent and of no help at all even though we were booked for 5 nights. It completely spoiled our whole break. The fact that’s we booked it to get away after the death of my mum just made it a million times worse. Due to the lack of customer care more than the hideous bed we would never stay again!
Fabulous apartment in central location. Only short walk to York city centre. Apartment was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Staff at Stays York were easily contactable and helpful. A lot of stairs to go up and down to keep you fit! Loved our weekend here.
Having stayed here in a different cottage a couple of years ago our family and I were excited to return the weekend before Christmas as a special treat for my sons 15th birthday. Directions to and access to the cottages was simple and straight forward and the cottage was clean and perfect for our 2 night stay. We not hesitate to stay here again when we decide to explore York in the future.
This is a great cottage, very comfortable in a brilliant location. I would give it 4 out of 5. It would be 5 out of 5 if the kitchen was a little better equipped as there are not many dishes available if you want to self-cater, and if the internal lights that have failed were fixed.
We stayed for one week in early August. We arrived at 4pm (keys are collected and returned via a key safe near the entrance lobby) but unfortunately the apartment had not yet been cleaned or beds changed, it was also very hot and stuffy, so we opened the windows and the cleaners arrived a few minutes later, were apologetic and asked us to vacate until at least 5pm. When we returned the apartment was clean, it feels new, modern and tastefully appointed with artwork on the walls. The master bedroom with en-suite is the room which converts to twin beds so our two teenage sons took that room, ...more
92 Union Terrace was well maintained and nicely furnished with very comfortable beds, great linen and lovely fluffy towels. The kitchen had all everything we needed (bar a sieve / colander). The welcome pack with Yorkshire products was very welcome. It was great for a family of 4 and under a mile from the city walls, so easy to walk in and out. There was a very helpful information folder with everything we needed, We were slightly unprepared for there only being 2 dishwasher tablets for a 4 night stay and 2 toilet rolls - one of each per night stayed would be a kindness! We really...more
Recently refurbished, clean, quiet flat close to city centre. Second bedroom was smaller than depicted on the website, with the pull out bed erected there was only half a metre space between the 2 beds which were against each wall so really not big enough to be a twin bedroom, ok for smaller kids perhaps but a bit tight for my 2 teens! Ideal as a single bedroom however. Flat was well equipped with iron, ironing board, hairdryer and all kitchen utensils required. Towels, sheets etc. all good quality, new and clean. Kitchen immaculately clean and new, likewise the bathroom which had a good, p...more
Well designed and comfortable. Office responsive when mistake about bedding was made. Couldn’t access terrestrial TV.
We highly recommend this apartment. It's super convenient for accessing all the tourist spots (basically half a mile from everything and obviously super close to the wall). The flat was clean, spacious and well appointed. The balcony was enormous! When we return to York in the future this will definitely be our first choice.
Spacious new flat in an excellent location for walking to the centre of York and all it's shops and restaurants. The apartment had all the facilities needed and all the furniture and fittings are in excellent working order. Having a parking space is also a valuable asset. I would return to this apartment in the future, but I have only given the cleanliness four stars because a lack of attention to detail in a couple of areas. For example, the toothbrush holder still had traces of the previous occupants paste and the outside veranda was covered in cob webs and autumn vegetation. Overall, I woul...more
Great location for town. Nice apartment. Fantastic to have washer dryer. Lovely shower. Bed ok but did not quite fit frame, there was a gap between the mattress and the frame which was a bit uncomfortable. Carpet a little dirty and could do with a clean. Lovely stay though and enjoyed it would definitely come back
A lovely quiet apartment in an excellent location. Well equipped and tastefully decorated with everything you need at hand. Check in instructions need to be. Little clearer. The lock box is on the street to the right of the door. As you go through a building adjacent to the tailor shop you need to go through 2 doors (up 5 steps) through another door (then down 5 steps) then through another door into a very small courtyard and through the patio door to get to apartment so very very secure. We loved it and would return.
A lovely property and great family stay. Would return and also recommend. It’s a new property with a great location and the safe parking was a huge bonus.
A lovely place to stay in the centre of York. It's a large one bedroom flat with a decent sized garden. You would never know you were next door to a pub. It's so quiet. It is truly a home from home a lovely comfortable feel about it. I definitely would stay here again if returning to York.
The apartment was very clean, although a bit of attention to detail was needed for the cutlery and crockery. The welcome pack was really thoughtful with some lovely touches. The location was top notch and even though you had to walk through a dentist surgery to get to the apartment, this wasn’t a problem. The ceilings were low with it being a loft apartment, but you quickly got used to this. Overall, we would recommend staying here and we know we certainly will be again
Stayed here Monday to Friday, family of 3 including 16 year old and had a fab few days! Apartment has a great layout over 3 floors with lovely spacious bathrooms and bedrooms and a comfortable lounge diner which is well equipped. Wifi was superfast so teenager happy! Lovely garden area with outdoor seating, perfect for early evening chill outs. Parking area just a few minutes walk and so able to just park up and walk into city centre in around 10 mins so great location, our fave bit(& one of reasons fot booking!)was Dough bakery literally just next door & serving delicious breads, pastries, ...more
Good location, plenty of space inside, uncomfortable mattresses! Furniture could do with refreshing, dining room chairs are a bit odd, nice kitchen but two malfunctioning gas rings. Good to have 2 living rooms. No looks in loos and only one door key was a bit unhelpful. No loo roll holders or towel rails…
Amazing property and exactly what we were looking for as we had a wedding near by. House was spotless throughout and had everything you could possibly need. Quality bed linen and really comfortable beds. We had drove over from Dublin and found the parking a little tricky but plenty of parking on other streets nearby so no major issue.
Upside, fantastic location, 5 minutes walk from Minster, convenient for Sainsburys and Coop, plenty of accommodation for 6 people, house had everything we needed. downside, no parking, public rooms small, TV in upstairs lounge not connected, no toilet on ground floor, unable to adjust temperature in shower, gas hob unit faulty unable to light 2 of the hobs, in general the house is a bit tired.
The holiday let was beautiful exactly as pictures etc. However, we couldn’t get in before 4pm on the Saturday and had to vacate the property by 10pm on the Monday. Therefore, this was an expensive stay when we only got one full day!!! Disappointing.
We stayed for a week in this well-equipped flat. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed for cooking. Rooms were well-laid out and comfortable. Location is excellent. There is an M & S foods about 4 blocks away and a large Sainsbury’s within walking distance (and a taxi ride back). We got our “fit to fly” Covid tests at the Whitehall Clinic in Leeds for our return flight home.
We had a lovely stay in york County house is very close to center of town and parking is secure. The apartment had everything we needed and more.
Booked at the last minute but not disappointed. Super location, lovely accommodation and very clean. Would highly recommend!
The Pigsty provides spotlessly clean, modern, light and airy accommodation, in a very well designed small area. It's slightly minimalist, which suited us, but a few additional touches such as wine glasses as well as tumblers, a coffee table by the sofa and instructions for the heating and television would be welcome. The bathroom door is somewhat artisanal, which is fine, except for the noise when you try to close it. Slingsby is a charming village, and the local pub is very friendly and welcoming. The catering was limited to delicious pizzas while we were there, but no doubt the menu w...more
This is a beautiful house that is comfortably furnished and situated in the delightful Raithwaite Estate. We arrived to a lovely little Yorkshire goody bag, filled with yummy treats - which was most welcome! The beds were super comfortable, with lovely bed linen and the place was spotless. Would definitely return again - many thanks!
Great location just inside city walls with 5 minutes walk to local shoos and 10 minutes walk to city centre. Quiet and easy parking. Comfortable and decor like stepping back in time (in a good way) with thousands of books adirning the walls. Everything you could need in kitchen and bathroom. If being picky, tv a little small by today's standards and limited space to hang smart clothes. A welcome pack detailing how to use facilities ans getting on wifi would be useful but easy enough to work things out. Perfect for a city break.
Longfield house fully met our expectorons. It was clean and tidy and well prepared for our stay. There was a slight issue with the heating as it was not functioning when we arrived and we were unable to switch it on. Stays York revolved the matter very efficiently the next day. A very very minor matter - we would have preferred some ordinary wine glasses. One set was too large for the dishwasher and the alternative were some rather fancy but useless cocktail glasses. All in all an excellent rental property for a visit to York
The bathroom was rather cool. Some of the upstairs radiators needed to be bled. The engineer who repaired the boiler said that this was not the first time. Suggests that the heating system needs an overhaul.
Brilliant location, comfy beds and high spec appliances all made pheasant house a real pleasure to stay in. A few additions however would really help, no where in any of the rooms to store your clothes, no air drier to dry clothes, no extra towels or sheets in the cupboard. Extra sheets were requested as a night cover due to the hot weather but no one ever got back to me. Overall a lovely stay made even better by the glorious weather, some of the comments above would have made the stay more comfortable.
This flat is very well located for York, and it generally well appointed. However, it is let down by two poor quality mattresses and poor quality polyester bedding - the stays York team did their best to resolve whilst we were there, but sent two cheap polyester toppers. Additionally, this is a ground floor flat without security straps/catches on the windows, so it is vey hot overnight. Cleaning was average, some litter under sofas and crumbs on the carpet. Quick fixes would make for a better stay.
I love the Cocoa Suites. Small but perfectly formed as they say. Go out the front door and it is an easy stroll to work, out the back and you are moments from the middle of stunning York. If I was to make a suggestion or two... perhaps a drawer to put stuff in and some thing to stop the pillows disappearing down the back of the bed. Still love it and would go back in a heartbeat.
Me and my girlfriend stayed in studio 44 for a week and it’s the best week away I’ve had. Lovely apartment with all the necessary appliances and modern interior. Would recommend for anyone especially couples. 10/10!!
The house is in a row of charming early Victorian workers' cottages about five minutes walk from the centre of one of the most interesting and historic cities in the UK. It is tastefully and comfortably furnished. However, it is advertised as accommodating six people. It doesn't, especially if they are not one family or all adults. The rooms are small: one had only a large single bed and another, with a small double, required some dexterity to navigate. The sitting room/area had only five easy chairs and, for example, there were only four wine glasses and four tumblers. The worst thing though ...more
The pictures don't do the apartment justice! It's a very comfortable place to come back to on your travels. It's location in the middle of York means nothing is more than a walk away and you do not need to navigate the public transport systems if you don't want to. Pleanry of lovely places to eat close by tpp if you want an evening 'close-to-home'.
Apartment quite spacious for 2 people.Central position. Fairly quiet apartment considering it’s proximity to a bar . Bedroom carpet was dirty and no water glasses, limited crockery ,poor quality.Freezer was totally iced up & could not be used . The state of the carpet was reported & the condition of the freezer . cleaners were sent a couple of days later ( as it was a bank holiday) and cleaned it well, defrosted the freezer also & provided 4 tumblers. The apartment should have been checked prior to our arrival ,instead we used part of our holiday reporting these problems - not a good start ...more
Couldn't have wished for a better location, on one side you're right on the wall and seconds into the city center whilst nestled in Bishy a wonderful artisan area with a fabulous range of shops. The property has everything you need and more with a higher than average spec, there's everything you could possibly need and more and everything top quality !! Beautiful artwork throughout .. a private gallery in its own right. Street parking with permit provided was never a problem although no place directly outside to unload the car however that was simply because I was there on a long stay with a l...more
Quirky but well thought out property in center of York. Stay spoilt by no hot water and no heating. Calls and text to support number not returned. Internet TV didn't work. Staff in office unresponsive.
I stayed in the cottage for three months and I was very sad to leave. It's very comfortable, private and secure. The team at stays york were really nice to communicate with. Always quick to reply to emails and answer questions. Would definitely recommend this cottage and this company if looking for a short term rental property. It's right In the centre of York with everything needed on the doorstep
We had a 3 night stay for New Year. We liked the position of the cottage but we were disappointed with the facilities. We couldn’t get the TV’s in the bedrooms to work. A hairdryer in 1 bedroom didn’t work. And on New Year’s Eve we didn’t have any hot water. We turned on a switch we believed would be the immersion heater and contacted emergency support. We had cold showers. The next morning the water was hot but the boiler made a loud noise when we turned the thermostat down. We feel the property lacks sufficient crockery for 4 people to make a meal. The cafetière was for 1 person but there i...more
Enjoyed the space and the extra touches of the record player etc. The property needs a little attention in the general maintenance, stairs rickety, washing machine no button to start, foot bar not secured to bar stools, filled sink over the overflow and leaked out under the sink unit. Also the rugs on the wooden floor are lethal when walking around. Could benefit from a better equipped kitchen Enjoyed the space very much, large, bright. Easy check-in/check-out. Great location.
Good quiet location with allocated parking but within 5 minute walk of supermarket. Easy walk to city centre. Comfortable spacious rooms. Well appointed kitchen with dish washer etc. Let down by only having 4 place settings for crockery and cutlery. Six would have been better. This was a ground floor apartment and suitable for guests in a wheelchair. Slightly let down by cleaners as found items in bedroom drawer.
Clean and comfortable, in fact the beds were amazingly comfortable. Wouldn’t want to live there but a good size for a holiday let. Good location with a short walk into town centre. Does have a great view of the walls but it includes a great view of the tyre place across the road. Bit of a faff getting in and out with car park barrier code, security gate code, but the lift worked fine, although it stank of marijuana. Everything in the apartment worked except the oven (grill and hob worked) and it was well appointed, very nice little welcome hamper too. Wouldn’t actually recommend it as it...more
Strange unpleasant odour in property on arrival (like wet dog) - in lounge/kitchen area - lasted till next day, we left majority of windows in whole flat open to try to alleviate it. Couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from. Had to put all crockery/cutlery (that we were going to use) through dishwasher as had been put away dirty. (Broken glass in cupboard) TV remote was found down side of sofa - not pleasant putting hands down to retrieve it! Under the chair and sofa there were food/crumbs Expected the flat to be extra clean due to pandemic! Lift and hallways not clean or tidy - w...more
Firstly and most importantly the studio was spotless when we arrived, very good cleaning, as you'd expect while still in a pandemic. A rather nice hamper awaited which added to the wow when we got there. The bed was lovely and certainly no problems there. Plenty of plug sockets, more than anyone could need. But general decor was lovely and welcoming. But unfortunately there are a few things I would pick up on, that all in all really did change my opinion on the stay. Firstly, I could hear every movement from the people upstairs. I wouldn't expect full sound proofing but when it comes to wo...more
Unfortunately we thought previous reviews might have been exaggerating on the amount of noise you can hear, in particular from the 2 bedrooms at the front of the property... How wrong we were! There is a lot of noise and I'm afraid mostly from people after a night out. You can hear every part of peoples conversations. We stayed for 5 nights and were woken up by noise every night/early morning and not just a few minutes, one night was over an hour we were kept up, at around 3am (and this was a week night, not the weekend). The property itself is extremely clean, great layout, and an exce...more
We stayed in the cottage for a week long 'staycation'. The cottage is tucked away as part of the Raithwaite estate, and benefits from the calm and quiet surroundings, as well as the facilities from the nearby house. The location was perfect. Big enough to have enough comfort, but close enough to the beach to make the walk not feel like a chore. The cottage was well presented, and was very clean and tidy. The facilities were excellent, and no issues with the TV set up. There was a small courtyard area outside the front which we made good use of too. I would recommend this propert...more
The apartment was as expected however the main problem was car parking. The information pack that is supplied by 'Stay York' suggests the closest car park is Shambles Q Park which isn't correct. Having taken this information at face value and having pre-booked with Q Park and paid pennies short of £70 for 3 nights parking it was extremely disappointing to find that parking was available outside the apartment block. Admittedly the charges would have been similar to that at Q Park however it would have been more convenient given that the walking distance of approximately 500 metres from the apar...more
A nice Apartment but just too loud in the evening with people and cars passing by in the early hours if the morning.
