The Doocot is a charming secluded cottage set in woodland beside an 18th century doocot, within walking distance of the conservation village of Dunning, with views towards Craigrossie and the Ochil Hills. Enjoy the quiet, peaceful surroundings or play a round of golf at the end of the garden on the 9- hole local course or perhaps at the five star Gleneagles courses nearby. Parking is available outside and the accommodation is all on one level. There is a double room and separate bathroom, lounge area with log-burning stove and television. WiFi is available. There are stunning views of fields and the Ochil Hills from every angle whether you are enjoying an evening glass of wine in the conservatory or breakfasting on the deck. You could warm your toes beside the log burning stove while gazing out through the french windows or lie in the hammock and watch the … sheep … go by!

Lovely property in a lovely location. Cottage had everything we needed and was nice and secluded.
We didn’t meet the owners but they helpfully kept in touch via text and a hand written note. They’d provided a lot of info in the cottage on the local area which was excellent.
We went to the Kirkstyle hotel for dinner was great mainly down to the craic from the locals.
My only complaint would be the outside decking was a bit run down, we couldn’t have sat out on the furniture.

Just at the doorstep of the Highlands, this cottage is a perfect place for a quick getaway for two + a canine. The owners add in lovely touches to make you feel right at home. We cannot wait to stay here again!

We've had a very traumatic few months and wanted some peace and quiet from the chaos. The Doocot is perfect in every way. Equipped with everything you need. (Hilary's homemade Damson Wine was to die for !) Really friendly owners and the friendly villagers. Great food at The Kirkstyle Inn and The Dunning Hotel which is only a short walk.

We will definitely recommend to friends and family. We will proably come back nex time in summer and just laze about on the deck.

Only downpoint, it needs 2 comfortable 2 seater sofas. The seating was very uncomfortable. (sorry Hilary)

The cottage is lovely and homely. Lots of nice touches that I didn't expect from a self-catered cottage such as bath robes & slippers, hairdryer, toiletries, tea & coffee, and scones on arrival.
The bed was very comfortable. The shower was good for an electric shower. Plenty of natural light from the windows and big curtains to block the light when you go to bed.
The kitchen is well stocked for cooking, again much better than I expected for self-catered accommodation.
The garden is lovely and big. Our dog had a great time exploring and playing with the owners dogs.
The pub and hotel in the village both do nice food but it's not too far to Perth for more choice.
The local shop in the village has a relatively good selection for such a small place and Tesco is only a 15 mins drive for everything else. The local farm shop (1 mile up the road) was disappointing. It's more a coffee shop and gift shop than farm shop.
We had a fantastic holiday at the Doocot and would definitely recommend it.
