Enjoy exclusive use of a beautifully restored Grade 2 Edwardian house, the birthplace and home of the poet Dylan Thomas for 23 years and where two thirds of his published work was written.

This isn’t a bed and breakfast

We booked this so very excited and upon arrival it was clear that although this is a great museum, it is not set up to be a bed and breakfast, nor is it conducive to having children on the home, despite it being advertised as such. There were small breakable things in every single surface of the home, as well as no way to even slightly darken any of the bedrooms. Breakfast was minimal and the pancakes were left uncovered in the evening for the morning meal. We ended up renting a hotel with our kids while my parents stayed. There was no soap for renters, and the beds were as hard as could be. We told the worker that we would not be staying the night and asked about any form of refund but were denied (which we understand) and then the following morning we got an email asking us how our stay was and hoping we enjoyed it. I responded again to explain we didn’t stay and the reasons why and received no response. My biggest issue with all of this is that the price is incredibly expensive for a really awful sleeping and living situation. A very expensive mistake. (All that being said, go see the house, take the tour for sure, it is a great museum.)

Wonderfully atmospheric and even enjoyed washing up in the Edwardian kitchen. Excellent tour by Geoff followed by Welsh tea, and we slept in the family bedrooms with great views of Swansea. Would highly recommend the delicious Welsh lunch as well. Do find tme to explore the nearby Cwmdonkin Park to complete the experience. Thank you!

A fantastic piece of restored and maintained literary history. I loved my stay. Many thanks to all the volunteers who have, and continue, to ensure the house is available to the public. I look forward to returning in the future!

This was a unique experience. My wife described it almost as 'though Dylan Thomas had popped out for a bit'. on arrival Geoff gave us a unique insight into the place and a personal tour of the property. Then it was ours! We chose not to go out to eat for the evening but to have a take away in order to savour the atmosphere. Staying in this period property with so much history was amazing and is highly recommended.
