I found our accommodation fantastic, it was in a beautiful setting with so much charm and character. I can not fault any part of the barn, from the moment I stepped in it took my breath away with its size, decor , and style . The owner had thought of everything inside and out providing us with the perfect set to enjoy our stay and make it special . I would like to say the owners were wonderful and it is a credit to them.
Lovely cottage with excellent accessible facilities in a beautiful location. The friendly owners are on hand to give any support or advice.
What an amazing time we had on our recent holiday In devon. This self catering accommodation was absolutely fabulous and we will definitely be returning. The location was brilliant. The views were incredible, the owners and the lady who works for them they were all absolutely brilliant with our whole family They looked after us so well and couldn’t do enough for us , the man even brought a little cow to see us and the children, it was just so lovely. Our place was spotless and they had thought of everything. Thank you for a fabulous holiday. We just wished the sun ☀️ would’ve shone a little b...more
Absolute fantastic place to stay, great with the children, so much freedom would definitely recommend. The cleanliness was immaculate. Attention to detail is 2nd to none, lovely couple who run the accommodation. Wish the family who are running it all the best in the future. Absolutely brilliant very homely The Theakstone family
We checked in for the long weekend and it was just spectacular! The location the views and above all the hosts. They made us feel at home and literally took care of us throughout. I would highly recommend this place for a short trip or even if you are looking to get married as they have done up their new barn now!
Great location and amazing place to stay. Kick back and sit and admire the views. Enjoy preparing the hot tub and look forward to a warm welcome from your hosts. So clean so easy to use. Relax and take time out. This is the perfect place to stay.
Lovely cottage and perfect location. Spotless and had everything we needed. Very comfortable and very friendly hosts .
Courtyard Cottage is a beautiful place to stay. The cottage has been lovingly renovated and decorated and is incredibly comfortable in beautiful surroundings. The owners are very welcoming and accommodating. A lovely welcome pack is left for you. Everything about this stay has been well thought through - a beautiful home from home.
Good clear directions to property, when entering the property was greeted with a clean fresh smell. We have stayed in quite a few rental properties over the years and The Shippon was one of the best! With good quality detail it was warm welcoming Plenty of space with comfortable furnishings and the inviting hot tub was a winner. Definitely would recommend
Seaweed Cottage was a very comfortable, clean, bright and roomy home from home. It was spacious for a family of four (adults) and dog! Beds were comfortable and the cottage was well stocked with all we needed, including bed linen and towels. Showers were decent and there is a handy porch for coats and boots. It was literally a 5 minute walk to Combe Martin beach, shops and cafe's. The Black and White chippy was great (3 min walk), and the Ice cream parlour Sugar Rush was amazing. There is not much of a garden, but we didn't feel the need to have one as were so close to the beach. ...more
Our extended family rented four of the cottages for a long weekend and we had a lovely time. The swimming pool, games room and conservatory are such nice sociable spaces and cater for kids and adults alike. The views are gorgeous, the cottages are cosy and the owners are super friendly and helpful. Can't recommend enough!
This is our second stay at Seagulls, and we hope to return. It is a very comfortable, clean holiday home in probably the best location in St Mawes. Everything you could need is provided and there are spectacular views from most rooms and the terrace and garden. Lovely that they allow dogs to stay. Huge, dog proof garden, that runs down to the sea. A very pretty and quiet beach just a few minutes walk along the coast path at the bottom of the garden and St Mawes centre just a very pleasant 10/15 minute stroll away. Great value and highly recommended.
A last minute decision to go away for half term led us to Ford Hill Cottage and it was wonderful. On arrival we were met by Adam who showed us around the property and presented us with the most generous of welcome hampers. Adam and Janet were always available but never ‘got in the way’ - perfect hosts. The cottage is far more spacious than the pictures suggest and is furnished to a high standard and we particularly liked the extremely comfortable beds. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need but with a fantastic range of pubs and restaurants within a 20 minute drive you may find ...more
We really enjoyed staying at the cottage, which was in a great location (very peaceful) and had amazing views. Considering the remoteness of the location, the television, internet and water supply were really good, better than we have experienced elsewhere. The hot tub was a very good place to enjoy the views.
We stayed with extended family in this beautiful and spacious house. Poor weather but great place for exploring Dartmoor. Games room very popular will all!

We had a wonderful stay at the Shippen - the location, just a short walk away from town and Readymoney Beach, was perfect for us and our kids aged 9 and 11. The house is well equipped and had everything we needed for the week. The only thing we hadn't expected was that access to the kids' bedroom is through the double, making for very little privacy for parents!
The farmhouse was a great place to stay for an 80th birthday celebration with all the family. It is extremely well equipped and comfortable with plenty of space for 12 of us aged from nearly two to 80. The children really enjoyed the large garden with all its facilities. There are lots of lovely places to visit and fabulous beaches at Woolacombe and Saunton.
We stayed at swallow cottage for a week over the Easter break. The weather wasn't the best but my 2 boy's aged 7 & 11 had plenty to do including dips in the indoor heated swimming pool and fun in the well equipped games room. The hosts we're brilliant and helpful but not intrusive just leaving us to enjoy the stay. They even put on a Easter egg hunt for all the kids staying with cakes and drinks for both children and adults, even the adults had suprise egg's in the hunt! Basically we had a brilliant stay and will almost definitely return for another great holiday.
We loved our visit to Coast view. Brilliant location to visit with 3 Babies under two and a teenager. House clean and comfortable and plenty of space for us all. Wonderful to have beach on the doorstep and the wonderful garden to the rear. Only two negatives would have loved a bigger fridge and the sun beds needed a bit of a clean. But these are small things and really would not deter us from visiting again. Thank you My Favourite Cottages you were helpful, informative and nothing was too much trouble. Always quick to respond to any queries and we’re always so professional.
What a stunning house and a view to die for. We thoroughly enjoyed our week in a house that was exceptionally well equiped and very comfortable. The owner had thought of everything to make our stay perfect. The view over Woolacombe Bay was amazing, although, the trip down to the beach via a very narrow lane was a bit hair raising!!!!! My only, very small, criticism is that the microwave needs changing as it was rusty inside and not very clean looking. Having said that it wouldn't stop us staying again.
A well converted farm building. Big beds, very comfortable. Could do with storage space for empty cases during the holiday. Prompt response to hot water problems.
A very enjoyable stay , despite the weather. All that we needed was available .Would recommend stay for a family with easy access to beaches and towns .
Stsyed here with my extended family and had the best time. The kitchen/lounge spaced worked really well for us as we were able to keep an eye on the little ones whilst we cooked etc. The kitchen was really well stocked with all the equipment you could possibly need. The outside space was beautiful and very peaceful. The kids loved running around the play area, it provided lots of entertainment. Location was great, short drive to both Ilfracombe and Woolacombe and quick drive to a big shop.
We really enjoyed our stay at the old Piggery. The hosts were really helpful, lending us extra chairs for a BBQ and made us feel very welcome. The cottage was spotless and had everything you would need including coal and firelighters for the BBQ. On arrival we were given the nicest cream tea I have ever had. The ground floor bedroom is accessible without steps and has a step free shower in it's ensuite. It is in a beautiful rural location. We would definately recommend the property.
We have two young kids and staid in the Tallet Upper. It’s a very beautiful spot with views from every window!!! The house is warm and well equipped for cooking. The shower has great water pressure and always had hot water. The kids also loved the big bath tub. The surrounding grounds are beautiful, clearly well maintained with space for the kids to roam and an outdoor eating area. Easy parking near the house. Lots to do and see within an easy drive. A great holiday spot!!
A lovely cottage which is very clean and has all you need for a holiday away from the crowds. It is situated in pretty gardens with a small stream running through the gardens There is plenty of garden furniture with a barbeque area. It is quiet close to the road so you do get a bit of traffic noise but it is not a very busy road . There is a great pub/restaurant The Bell in Parkham the next village. Would recommend
Our second stay here at Talland Croft. Everything was set up according to our wishes, thanks to Lisa for this. Very clean, spacious and very accommodating house. The utility is an absolute godsend when you have so many wetsuits, cozzies and towels to sort daily. Fabulous kitchen with quality tableware with 2 fridges....1 for the beer and wine! Bedrooms all really good. The family bathroom would definitely benefit with a fixed shower over the bath, but we managed by sharing the en-suites. Superb, safe garden for the family and dogs, for bbqs and star gazing. We took an extra washing l...more
Riversmeet is in the most superb location. You could not get better. 20 steps and you are on the sandy beach. A few steps further and you are at The Boathouse pub. The cottage is lovely and well-appointed. The upstairs living area is comfortable, spacious and has everything you need. The views are amazing, you can watch the tides coming in and out as well as the most beautiful sunsets. The bedrooms are good sizes however the bed linen and towels could do with updating. We hope to be back again soon.
Great views, very comfortable beds, and brilliant showers. Just what is needed in any holiday cottage. The oven was a bit complicated to use but sorted when we found the instruction book
We stayed here for a week at the beginning of June, and were blown away. Although the pictures clearly sold it to us, it was even more perfect in real life. A fabulous location, short walking distance to amenities and the beach, and the garden overlooking the beach was perfect. The hot tub is a lovely addition, and the outside shower made easy work of cleaning up the kids and dog after a day at the beach. Comfy beds, very spacious rooms, modern decor, views that speak for themselves. The only minor issues: 1. The comfort of the sofa (very low and hard to get up off), and the two chairs in ...more
We loved the location of the cottages and grounds and beautiful lake. However the downside to Blare Cottage is that there was no view from any window and it was quite dark downstairs. Good for short stay and ideally located for the wonderful beaches that are not far away In a car and the surrounding countryside. But disappointing because of positioning of Blare Cottage.
15 friends spent a week at Biallid House in May. It proved to be one of the most popular venues we have ever stayed in on our annual trips to Scotland. The house is extremely spacious with good facilities and in many ways, quite luxurious. It's great to be able to cook and eat together with so many people and to relax together after dinner in comfortable surroundings. The location is excellent for outdoor activities and just to enjoy the local area and its wildlife. The booking and supporting admin were very helpful.
Lovely holiday home in a fantastic location. Great for beaches and walking. We booked advising we would have 2 cars. (Property sleeps 6 and we were a group of 5). The garage space was unfortunately too small to park our 2nd car which we and neighbours found out to everyone's frustration. So there were 4 cars on site with no-one using the garage spaces - challenging! Despite this touchy issue we had a lovely holiday in a beautiful location staying in this great property.
Firstly we had a lovely holiday, the location was perfect for us. The house whilst needing a bit of updating (old rusty microwave etc.) is overall okay, with good bathrooms/showers. We had a number of challenges with 7/8 adults staying, which may not be an issue for smaller groups. There is only a very small under counter fridge, which wasn’t working well, certainly not large enough to cater for a week or two for 8 if you plan BBQ/cooking. One of the eight beds is actually a ‘camp bed’ so for an adult was not practical and thus was squeaky. A number of pieces of garden furniture were ...more
Old world charm country cottage , good size rooms . Limited access to upstairs. Staircase steep not suitable for the elderly. Quiet location with good access for parking but only limited roadway to cottage. I.e only room for one car on roadway on lane.
We had extended family together of 23 in total staying at the property. Plenty of space for all of us. The views are amazing and the property has large spacious rooms.
Warm, comfortable stay. Quiet and family friendly. Lots to do locally. Really enjoyed our holiday. Many thanks!
Very comfortable, and in a great location. The countryside is magnificent. The fishing is mostly dependent on spates.
We had everything we needed at the cottage & the owners were there in a heartbeat if we wanted any information at all. The concrete steps down to the patio area may be a challenge for a toddler but there aren’t many. I was very happy to learn that access to the lake was through several gates and so not accessible to our child. We found the cottage spotless. Such a lovely spot and glad we found it. We would come again.
Well out of the way, a relaxing break. Village shop and pub a credit to the residents. 25 minutes to a choice of beaches. Give it a go!!
We had a fantastic weekend in the lodge. Amazing location surrounded by fantastic scenery. Would visit again.
We chose this cottage for its location, we paid a bit more than we would have normally paid for a cottage but we want to stay in Braunton. The cottage was nice but for a family of 4 it needed a little more storage downstairs and a bigger fridge and a freezer would have been nice. The location was quiet and we had a lovely week. The property did have a couple of big steps as you entered the cottage which I was a bit worried about as we carried our luggage and things in and out and on a wet day but they was a railing on one side you could hold on to. It was nice having the parking with the cot...more
Good points: the house was large and in a secluded location. The appliances (cooker, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine were all new and of high quality. So too were the kitchen utensils. The beds were clean and comfortable. Points that could be improved: there was a broken window in the shower room and some of the walls had holes in them. The downstairs toilet did not flush unless you removed the lid from the cistern and manually flushed it. There was a huge cobweb in the en-suite bathroom to Bedroom 1. The towels were frayed and could do with being replaced. Major pr...more
Good accommodation great location House was opposite beach and Instow being a small village was close to everything in Instow Great view from balcony were you can sit out and admire beautiful views also great at night time with the lights from Appledore town Would stay again and off road parking a big help just a little tight to get on to drive from road but achievable over all a good stay
It’s a comfortable and well-equipped house with some wear and tear, especially some issues with moisture in the home. Overall would recommend.
Just returned from a week at the Byre. Very nice property, well positioned for exploring North Devon.
Excellent location for hills. Helpful & efficient staff. Lovely views. Cottage was well equipped & comfortable for 6-8 walkers with 3 twin rooms & one double & 2 bathrooms.
We booked Diana’s cottage for a weekend with grandchild of 10 months to attend a 90th birthday party in Braunton. First impressions were that we’d walked into faulty towers…it’s a very old building and it looks like the decor hasn’t changed much either …reminded me of my grans house when I was a kid. The views are great and it’s a large property with a huge garden area so if you want quiet then it would be great. The bed linen was clean and crisp. The house was very warm heated by a number of storage heaters and mobile heaters, some of which set too high with a toddler roaming. However f...more
