We had a lovely week staying in the cottage. It had everything we needed, including a very useful dryer for when the weather was a bit damp! The enclosed garden was excellent for our energetic dog, with a wonderful view across the water to the next peninsula. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for us all. The location might be a little remote for some people, but we really appreciated the peace and quiet, when the rest of the island was busy with summer visitors. There are good walks from the door, and excellent tea and cake at the Yurt Cafe just down the road. The owner called to make sure we had everything we needed, and was really helpful. We would definitely come back here (in fact my daughter did not want to leave).

Great house in an amazing part of the world to stay.

Lovely house with plenty of space and adequate facilities for six. Great panoramic view of the sea and accross to the outer hebrides, we were visited by roe deer, short earled owl (in the tidy garden), red fox accross the moorland and the closest I've ever seen the pair of resident golden eagles that flew over and around the house five days out of the seven that we were there, one even landing only 45 yards away breifly before taking off again. When you see them up close there's no way you can mistake them for the "tourist eagle" buzzards! Also a pair of the white tailed sea eagles glided over twice, perhaps even more impressive but a little farther away. the owner is friendly and couldn't be more helpful. Some nice local walks and only a short drive from Dunvegan Castle, Coral Beach and Neist Point lighthouse and the main town of Portree are not much farther. The house also has a collection of books and games (the tv is a bit awkward to workout though..!). Overall definitely recommended for a relaxing break or to spot local wildlife.

Wonderful views and a comfortable and extremely well equipped cottage. The location was just beautiful, with some lovely walks within easy reach. So nice to find everything we could possibly need for cooking and food preparation in the kitchen, and just a really nice place to stay overall. Also appreciated the care taken by the owner to make contact and check all well.

We were really disappointed in this cottage. Yes it is old, it is also not well maintained.

First the good news - the bedrooms, bed linen and towels were clean.
Now for the rest -
1. Cutlery and cooking pans were not clean. Even had old food still on them.
2. Broken hall table learning against wall so it would not fall down.
3. All windows and surrounding wood sills in house dirty, even condensation filled double glazing units.
4. Broken handle in kitchen window and two bedroom widows unable to open, I would consider this a health risk especially as one of the rooms is a single normally used for youngsters.
5. Outside patio wall in very rundown state with rocks approx 5kg loose.
6. Overall electrical appliances need a deep clean.

I do not understand how others say this is wonderful. When the owner called to check we had arrived safely, we told her about the cutlery and she immediately blamed the previous guests saying she had to spend a lot of time cleaning. Sorry, what we saw does not back that up.

Wish I had gone back as far as 2017 on TripAdvisor reviews, I agree with the July 2017 post. The owners response to that was that the cottage is old. Yes it is one of the older ones on the market today, but there is a difference between old and not maintained.
I did feedback directly to ihcottages, but 2 weeks later, I'm still waiting on even an acknowledgement. Says it all I'm afraid...

We had a fantastic week at this cottage, the space was perfect for us, plenty of room for us to enjoy our Christmas break with our dogs :) the garden is great, nice and large and the dogs spent plenty of time running around whatever the weather. The cottage was lovely and warm, had all sorts of kitchen accessories but our favourite spot was curled up in front of the large windows with a cuppa watching the weather. The views are magnificent. We felt completely at home and were very sad to leave! We can't wait to book again:)

A wonderful stay. The house was very comfortable and had all the space and equipment needed for a toddler and baby. Good drying and places for muddy boots and coats.
The owner was very helpful and friendly.
The views across to Loch Dunvegan were wonderful and believe it or not we had exceptional weather cold but sunny and no.wind.
I highly recommend this place to stay.

Sat on the hillside looking up the loch back to Stein and Waternish, you really don't need to switch the tv on or connect to the wifi to check your phone.

Beautiful big house with the most gorgeous lounge and views to die for.

I was met on by my lovely host Lynette on my first night who welcomed me into the house and nothing would be too much trouble for her.

Warm cosy and very good value. We were very happy there.well equipped and clean
