The Flat was nice, clean and comfortable providing everything needed including a full kitchen so meals could be prepared when restaurant availabilities were limited or unavailable. The location of the Flat is exceptional, extremely close to the major tourist sites on the Island.

We were disappointed that there was no one to greet us on arrival. Nor did anyone ‘touch base’ with us during our stay to check that we were ok or to discuss any issues we might have. For example, the towel holder in the bathroom was not properly fixed to the wall, which we found on arrival, and were concerned that this should not be attributed to us. Otherwise everything else was good. Setting up and using the cooker was a bit of a challenge! The wifi/internet and tv facilities were good too. And the bed was very comfortable but you needed to beware of the corner legs when barefoot! Overall we had no complaints.

We were very happy with everything at keeper’s Cottage. Magical spot. Just a few minor hitches with the facilities but nothing to spoil our beautiful stay.

The cottage was easy to find thanks to the great directions provided. A 5 minute cycle from the beach and similar distance to Staffin, this was a great location to stay for attending a friend's wedding in the area.

The cottage is exactly as described and as per the photographs on line. A quiet haven to explore from.

For two of the days there was a lively family staying next door and their cottage accommodation extended over mine and so was woken by kids running back and forth across the room above my bedroom, but such cottages were not built considering noise insulation and this did not dampen my stay here.



Nightmare. Unless you don’t need sleep and you want minimalist at top dollar, avoid this property!

Pros:
*the bed was comfortable.
*Walk to water is beautiful

Cons:
*Communication: (note: we rented the property three months in advance). From the get-go, we should’ve recognized this was going to be a problem rental. One example: They sent documents written in German? when clearly we spoke/wrote in English. When we asked for them to resend in English, they again sent in German? The third time came in English. We had to initiate most communication which we did via email and overseas phone calls. We were referred to other agencies only to be referred back to the first one. It was a nightmare. Multiple emails and multiple calls went unanswered.
*the place is tiny, which is accurately depicted in the photos, but LR furniture is extremely uncomfortable.
*although advertised as having wi-fi, it DOES NOT.
*No telephone reception. We had to walk 2+ blocks to get reception. There is NOTHING in the listing indicating no phone service.
*No toilet paper altho advertised that it is provided. Check in is 4 so by the time we got there Sunday night,, stores were closed. The lady next door kindly gave us a couple rolls and access to her wi-fi so we could send an email to the rental company. They sent someone over with toilet paper at approximately 10:00 a.m. THE NEXT DAY. She came to the door just as we were leaving and we told her we were vacating. The agency has never responded regarding the lack of wi-fi and phone service.
*oven didn’t work
*the view from the windows is a big hill within five feet of the cottage. In other words, there is light but there is no view.
*the walls of the property are paper thin. We could clearly hear what the neighbors were talking about.
*remember…paper thin walls….the people upstairs either have several extremely active children or a dog. Whatever it is, the crashing, banging and bouncing started around 7:00 p.m. Sunday and lasted until around 10:30 p.m.Sunday. It started up again Monday at around 5:30 a.m. We don’t know how long it lasted because we cut our trip short and checked out. We notified the rental agency at 10:17 a.m. Monday that we were vacating. The rental agency’s response to us checking out and the issues we encountered? “Sorry that your chosen property does not work for you”.

Our suggestion to the property owner
…..update the description so it accurately describes the property and
…..find a rental agency that is accessible and responsive to your guests. The one you currently have doesn’t understand even the most basic customer service.

We were enchanted by the area. We would have liked though a bigger refrigerator and more space inside the apartment. We loved the shower.

We loved staying at this comfortable and very clean, cute cottage. The big bay windows let in tons of light and it was a hop and a skip to the beautiful beach. It’s perfect for a couple, it was so much better than staying at an impersonal hotel!
