An Caladh, Harlosh, is a two bedroom detached house situated on the stunning Harlosh Peninsula with amazing views overlooking Loch Vatten and MacLeod's Tables. There is a cosy lounge with log burner and a well equipped kitchen / diner with utility room leading off. There is a double and a twin bedroom, both with ample storage and lovely rural views. The bathroom has a shower, W.C. and wash hand basin. The garden has local wild flowers such as orchids, and a garden bench, a fantastic spot to watch stunning sun sets! With a variety of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants just a 5 minute drive away in the village of Dunvegan, this holiday home is a great base to explore many popular landmarks in Skye.

The cottage was extremely well equipped and in a lovely location, convenient for exploring Skye.

However, please note the brochure states the washing machine is available only to those booked at the property for "7 days or more" - however at the property the notice states "over 7 days". This needs clarifying and in either case seems odd if the property has a washing machine. Also the single bed was not comfortable, perhaps time for a new mattress?

Having said all that, we had a very enjoyable stay in this lovely property.

Lovely modern hoose, housekeeper is fantastic as it was spotless when we arrived and the fire was set, brilliant! Warm and comfortable, rubbish internet at times but the wee book tells ye that. Well equipped kitchen and utility room, but not sure why the washing machine cannae be used if ye're there for a week as going for a dauner in the bogs can result in dirty troosers and don't really want to have to wait till ye get back hame tae wash them. Snazzier ootdoor furniture would be nice but the nano second ye get on a sunny day before the midgies devour ye, skeletons on the lovely recliners would be the end result.
Great area, very quiet, white tailed eagles nearby and a merlin on the back fence post. Easy access and much quieter than the usual spots Instagram directs folk tae, shhh the hordes will descend if it gets oot...
Great value compared tae other wildly overpriced hooses on Skye. We'll be back in the future.

If you are looking for a quiet and cozy place in the countryside, that's the place for you. You can see the large bay leading to the sea from the living room. The design of the living room in brown and grey and the symmetrical order of the two sofas create an atmosphere of quietness and harmony. There is a large and modern kitchen, overlooking the vast landscape up to the horizon. A large hall which has enough room for all your rucksacks. A wooden bench and a table for eating outside. The beds in the small bedroom are rather narrow when you use it as a twin-bedded room, however. Our only point of criticism is that when you book it via a booking portal like Interhome, a washing machine seems to be included, but when you arrive, there is a sign saying the use of the washing machine is only for guests staying longer than a week. This should have been made clear before.

An Caladh was a wonderful base for exploring the NW side of Skye. It provided a warm comfortable place to return to after a long day out and a cosy refuge from inclement weather. It was well organised and maintained. We loved our time there, especially enjoying all the birdlife in the surrounding area - we didn't just hear cuckoos, we saw one on a tree outside the kitchen window.

An Caladh was a perfect cottage to see the Isle of Skye from. It was clean, spacious and well stocked with everything we needed. The area around the cottage was very quiet with lots of space between neighbouring houses. The decor is modern and bright which gave the cottage a very comfortable and happy vibe.

An Caladh is located very centrally in the island which made it ideal for driving to all of the various spots we wanted to see like the Fairy Pools, Old Man of Storr and the Black Cuillins.

We had a perfect stay.

An Caladh is a very good place to stay and use as a base for exploring Skye.

I was visiting by myself and An Caladh was my home-from-home for 3 weeks in February 2022. As soon as I walked in the door I recognised the house from the pictures and description on the internet. The welcoming feeling was completed with lights and heating already turned on. Despite it being quite a stormy month (for the UK as a whole) the house was warm and cosy and always welcoming after a day out. I had no need to change the central-heating settings, nor feel the need to use the wood-burner which was also ready to be lit when I arrived.
Two good-sized sofas made for comfortable seating in the living-room, though my personal preference is for an armchair. TV size and positioning might be awkward if a family of 4 want to watch together - I moved one of the sofas (and put it back before I left). Internet speed is not great and maybe not adequate for on-line gaming, though fine for watching TV movies. I understand that EE are the broadband providers and I think they would struggle to land even a glider - they didn't make their advert in a remote area of the UK!
I quite enjoy cooking and the kitchen, with one exception, had more than enough for my cooking and eating needs (I did need to use my own containers in the micro-wave which is basic with only a single function). The kitchen very easily has enough space for the dining table with its 4 comfortable chairs.
Bedrooms are bedrooms, and I slept well with the only interruption resulting from the wind.
Skye is beautiful, and prior to my visit I had researched and planned driving trips. Consequently I grabbed every weather opportunity to get out to see it: round the Trotternish peninsula; down to Glenbrittle; round the south side of the Cuillins to Elgol; and other shorter trips. At other times I just stood at the living room window and watched the loch and Macleod's Tables change by the minute.
A final word goes to the housekeeper who is friendly, welcoming and helpful. I had a minor problem and she turned up within a few minutes to sort it for me.

An Caladh has a wonderful cosy feeling. The house was really clean and the bedding and towels all spotless. We had a week of fairly rainy weather and it was lovely to come back to such a homely cottage. The beds are very comfortable and the cottage has everything you need to cater for a holiday. My only negative comment would be that the internet is very poor so if you desperately need internet and television then you might be disappointed. The location is lovely and you can do a very fine walk to Harlosh point from the house. Very handy for Dunvegan.

Warm, comfortable and spacious. Unfortunately couldn't manage to light all the burners in the gas oven without releasing a strong smell. Thats probably because we have only ever used electric. So we used the top rings but not the ovens.

Really nice place, very comfortable. There was plenty of room for the 2 of us, but I think there would still be plenty of room with 4 adults. Good location for accessing different parts of the island and only a short drive from a main road. The place was warm too (in October) and the log burner was an added bonus! A really well stocked kitchen too, with all the utensils and pots that you need! Would definitely recommend

Perfect property with everything you could need. The owners had thought of everything and the little touches were perfect such as the welcome pack, games, picnic equipment, binoculars, etc. The property is beautifully decorated throughout and is in an amazing location for exploring Skye.

I would highly recommend staying at An Caladh.

An Caladh is a fab little cottage and seemed to be one of the few we could find on Skye without hugely inflated prices. That said it doesn't compromise on quality, the cottage has everything you need and is a really comfy and enjoyable stay. Maps and books are even provided for guest use. Would definitely recommend.

Really enjoyed our week at An Caladh. Very comfortable cottage which is well equipped with everything you might need - especially the kitchen. We have been to Skye a few times but not stayed in this location and it was great - amazing sunset views and close to Dunvegan for amenities. We enjoyed fish and chips one night from the Harlosh takeaway down the road and had coffee with superb cakes at the Dunvegan on the Main Street in Dunvegan. Highly recommend.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The cottage is beautifully presented. Everything is clean and cozy. They have thought of everything. Every time we went to look for something we needed it was there. It was very warm despite the cold outside. If we ever return to Skye we would definitely stay here again. The little box of goodies on arrival was a nice touch too.

A lovely and well-appointed modern cottage on the west side of Skye. Plenty spacious enough for the two of us.. The kitchen was clean and tidy with a welcome pack waiting for us when we arrived. A very useful handbook supplied on living in the house, where things were locally and further afield. A warm and cosy place to come back to after a day of being blown around on Skye through sunshine and showers and should you need a boost of heat, the wood burner in the living room works really well!
