Alderburn 1 is a spacious family holiday home overlooking Portree Bay and just a few minutes walk from the harbour and square. With three bedrooms, kitchen, dining area, lounge and a mature garden with garden furniture, it is perfect for families or groups of friends. Alderburn House makes a great central base for exploring the Isle of Skye whilst close to amenities.

Alderburn is truly a wonderful and very comfortable house with a splendid view

We’ve a very very pleasant stay in Alderburn 1.
The location is just marvellous and the house very comfortable: Everything you would need -and more- is there!
The heating was pre-programmed and 1 radiator of the master bedroom had a broken thermostatic valve. This caused a high temperature in the room when going to bed. Later this is handled by a plumber: perfect.
The communication with both the owner and Islands and Highlands Cottages was always very good and with quick response.
A perfect location for a potential future trip to Skye.

Good location, very convenient for exploring the island. Nice house, lots of space. There was no info pack in the house, not a big problem but meant that we didn’t have info on practical stuff like rubbish/recycling.

Highly recommend the Alderburn for a group / family. Perfectly located on the edge of town - a two minute walk brings you to the lovely town of Portree with its assortment of shops, cafes and restaurants. The property, with 3 double bedrooms (1 en suite), beautiful views of the bay from the lounge, large kitchen/ dining space and outdoor seating areas in the garden, was ideal for a family holiday with teenagers ( good wifi too). The property is well looked after, very clean and my bed was really comfortable. We met the owners son, Ross, while we were there and he was lovely too. He and the housekeeper very quickly helped us when we realised after departure that we had left something behind in the property.

Alderburn is a lovely house and garden with excellent views. Kitchen well equipped, spacious bedrooms, large bathroom and small en suite shower room. Very near to the centre of Portree for restaurants and shops. Garden did seemed a bit neglected in terms of weeds on patio area and the garden furniture consisted of old wooden bench, rickety looking basket chair and picnic bench. Found it strange that the attached flat for 2 people had nice decking and modern table and chairs for 4. We did enjoy our stay but a nicer area to relax outside would've made it perfect.

Allderburn House was in the perfect location, less than 5 min walk into the centre of Portree. A very well equipped and comfortable house. A perfect base for exploring Skye. Highly recommend.

A perfectly placed house near the town centre with enough space for 6 adults or a large family not to get under anyones feet.
Ample parking with easy access from the Staffin road we will definatley be back to Alderburn house.

This beautiful house is in a great location, only a few minutes' walk into town, but very peaceful. The views are magnificent. We also enjoyed listening to the delightful bird life. The house has lovely, personal touches to the interior decoration, which makes it feel like a home and not simply a rental property. It is spacious and the bedrooms very comfortable. We stayed three nights in mid May and would like to have stayed longer.

4 of us had a fantastic week staying in Alderburn House in September. The house is very comfortable, well equipped and warm - the underfloor heating in the kitchen particularlly cosy, We appreciated the milk, hot drinks and biscuits left to welcome us. The walk to the Coop just a few mintues away was a pleasure with beautiful views out to the harbour below, and the Coop was well stocked with everything we needed. Plenty of places to eat out within easy walking distance. We enjoyed walks with stunning views both nearby and further affield.

I particularly appreciated the help from Islands and Highlands Cottages promptly returning a loved left behind item.
