This is a historic cottage in a terrace close to the centre of Chichester so the location is excellent and a real plus. However, parking can be difficult, and often we had to park some way down the road or even in another road, due the volume of cars needing spaces.
The owners were terrific - very pleasant and responsive and they made sure we had plenty of parking stickers. The cottage itself needs some work - there were holes in the doors in the extension and it was not clear to us why they had not been replaced or properly repaired before making the place available for holiday let. There was also a persistent dripping tap in the kitchen.
Another problem was the lack of dining space - it was advertised as suitable for 8 guests, yet there are only fours places at the dining table; several had to eat sitting on the sofa. Finally, the kitchen is lacking key items - these include sharp knives (there was no bread knife), salad and serving bowls (we had to purchase these). a frying pan, and a cheese grater. There was also no laundry basket or dustpan. Overall, a conveniently located historic cottage with a lot of character with nice owners that needs some work and that lacks certain amenities and basic necessities.

Thank you so much for taking the time in writing your review. The Cottage is a lovely period property and is so close to the center of town. I will forward your feedback to the owners to get this rectified. We look forward to you booking with us again soon.

A lovely 500 year old home with modern updates. We really enjoyed our time in this beautiful town. The Cottage was in walking distance to the town center, train station and grocery stores. We walked everywhere. Chichester makes a great base for visiting other towns and landmarks. After a 12 minute walk to the train station you can visit Winchester, Brighton, Portsmouth and our favorite Arundel, an uncrowded coblestone town with a fantastic castle. We also did a day trip to Cardiff castle in Wales. The owners met us on arrival and were available for any questions or concerns. We felt very safe and comfortable. This is a 3 story accomodation with some steep stairs to two of the bedrooms and baths. There is a bedroom and bath on the ground floor. My only issue was with scented laundry as I am sensitive to smells.
