The cottage is the perfect place if you look for a remote place in the english countryside. You may even see deer from the bed rooms which have a unique view into the natural scenery. The living room and kitchen are very spacious and comfortable. Sightseeing spots like Petworth House or Arundel Castle are just a few minutes drive away. Last but not least - the landlady Clare is very friendly and helpful. It was a perfect stay for us!
10 of us took up residence for a week in this lovely property overlooking the river. The house was amazing, unbelievable comfy and extremely well equipped. The house flowed and provided room for people to get away from others for a quiet read. The bed linen was lovely and the towels fluffy, something that is not always featured in rented property. It was safe for children, had a lovely garden and electric gates with plenty of room for cars on the drive. The owners of the property were extremely helpful, telephoning to make sure everything was OK. All in all everybody had a great week and...more
We spent a lovely week at Castleton in May this year. The accommodation was perfect for two people, very homely and tastefully decorated throughout. The Annexe was well equipped with everything you could need. The small issue we had with their toaster was resolved with an immediate replacement, which was a clear sign of the owners consideration for their guests. The owners were very friendly and helpful with lots of local knowledge and even offered us the use of their beautiful garden. The sunny patio was a lovely place to sit and have a drink. The location was excellent for exploring Chich...more
Rubens Barn is a little rural gem. All of the creature comforts, extremely generous food provisions and a wonderful owner who greeted us on arrival and departure. Accessible to Chichester, Midhurst and Petworth. Highly recommended.
Lovely cottage on the mill pond. Wonderful big kitchen, dining and living area. Great Emsworth location for walks and for shops and restaurants.
We really enjoyed our stay at Tides Cottage and would definitely recommend it. It was wonderful have the sea so close.
In a word...PERFECT. This house is a total delight and the garden is just wonderful. It feels so private and is complete with comfortable furniture and little lights that look like stars. The sweet peas were in full bloom and magical. The entire stay was a delight. The hosts so kind and helpful and everything so comfortable and well designed. We loved it and were so happy with our choice of properties. This is a great one.The kitchen is fantastic. I did not do much cooking but loved sitting in it. . The beach is at the end of the road..or one of the beaches. There are several and all fun. T...more
Whyke Cottage is a quiet, comfortable, well-appointed house (with the bonus of off-street parking) within easy walking distance of Chichester town centre. Both the owner and her local caretaker were immensely helpful and prompt in dealing with a couple of queries we had.
Perfect. Very comfortable. Everything in tip-top condition. Fast internet connection. Parking space available. Henry Adams staff outstanding.
A modern yet homely apartment with incredible views in a peaceful/beautiful location. Lots of extra touches included to make your stay more comfortable. We will definitely be returning.
The Old Root House is in a great position with lovely views. It is very conveniently placed for Goodwood Racecourse and there some lovely pubs in the area. The house itself is very clean with modern appliances and bathrooms. Comfortable beds and sofas. Lots of space and light so a very pleasant home from home.
A home from home and very child friendly. A break enjoyed by three generations. Great location close to Chichester and plenty of things to do in the area. We'd certainly visit again if back in the area.
We had a lovely stay at The Salterns in Chichester Marina for a family birthday. The apartments are stunning and in a beautiful location next to the water. There is plenty to do with walks, restaurants & pubs nearby. Would highly recommend.
This was our second stay at Cullimore where the owners are kind and welcoming and very dog friendly. Everything is provided to ensure a comfortable stay at this lovely bungalow. The bungalow is near to shops, cafes, restaurant and the beach. We had another enjoyable holiday here and hope to return again.
We had a lovely long weekend here in October. The apartment was as expected ( actually looked like the photos on website) with beautiful views across the marina. Secure parking was a plus. The weather was glorious and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I am sure we will return.
Flint Cottage was peaceful yet in a great location close to Emsworth. The cottage was very comfortable and stocked with everything needed for our holiday. Easy to walk into Emsworth but also good communications with the South Downs.
We found a very nicely kept house with a lovely garden. Everything was prepaird and we could feel at home imediatly.
This is the second time we have stayed at Oldbury Cottage and were as pleased with it as we were the first time. It is well equipped and ideal for a short break - e.g. long weekend - for a couple.
Faces on to a private courtyard with table and chairs (and grape vine). Very comfortably furnished. Good beds. Everything for a relaxing stay. Country walks on the doorstep and a short drive to loads of things to see and do.
Our stay in the Diary was without a doubt one of the most comfortable experiences away from home. The place is very spacious, with plently of room for four adults. The open plan kitchen with diner and living room made it easy for everyone to socialize while eating and relaxing. The most welcomed feature however was the beds, which were extremaly large and comfortable. Outside there was a large green open space with plenty of nature to watch incl. baby bunnies hanging around the balcony doors. There was plenty of cooking equipment as well as bread, butter, milk and flavoured water left in the ...more
A superb location come rain or shine. Spotless, comfortable accommodation. Friendly and helpful staff.
Honeysuckle Lodge is a really nice place to stay, quiet & comfortable with easy access to Medmerry nature reserve. Owners friendly & helpful. Some distance from shops but Tesco will deliver & Hunston has a small supermarket & paper shop that sells excellent cakes.
Excellent stay. Good location near Chichester with access to some lovely countryside walks. Would just like to mention - Could do with a new toilet seat in the first floor bathroom - as the current one is stained.
Stayed for a week at the beginning of February, cycling in the South Downs and visiting Chichester. A great cottage, compact (fine for two, but would be tight for four), however there was everything that you would need, warm too. Well equipped and everything worked just fine. The hosts were friendly and there was a good starter pack with some basic supplies. Good off-road parking and a hose (great for a dirty winter cycle). Great location, in the middle of the country but only 4 miles from Chichester and about a mile's walk to the pub in Funtington. Thoroughly recommended, I expect that we ...more
We had a lovely comfortable short break at the cottage, which is set in the delightful old farm grounds and within a few steps of open countryside, and a few minutes drive of walks on the Downs and several excellent pubs. Chichester and Portsmouth were an easy drive. The Cottage had everything we needed and the welcome hamper was perfect and very welcome. Harriet welcomed us and encouraged us to simply ask if we needed help with anything. We would definitely stay again.
Comfortable cottage in West Wittering with everything you need. Nicely furnished and lovely bedding and towels provided. Just next to a little shop with a lovely butcher/Deli oppositie and a nice gift shop. Pub within walking distance and we had a lovely there with friendly service. Beach is a pleasant stroll away. House has a parking space behind and has a little courtyard to sit outside. Down side of the shop next door is a little noise but wasn’t a deal breaker for us. Good value for a cottage in a good location. Lovely area to explore!
We found New Park Studio was comfortable, with all the conveniences ( such as laundry facilities, kitchen equipment, books, CD's and tourist information). Its location is also convenient: it is a short walk to the shops.
Despite this being one of six apartments, the property was very quiet and the sleep quality was good. The location is such that you are in a tranquil area but within easy driving range of various attractions ranging from stately homes to military museums to shopping outlets. Local amenities are good and a few minutes drive away are more substantial outlets. The property is ideal for a short or longer break as there is so much to do in the area.
Lovely peaceful location. Apartment had everything we needed. Comfortable beds, nice and warm. Only very very slight niggle is the coffee pods that were provided hadn’t been restocked and tissues boxes left empty in the bedrooms. As I say, only very slight niggles and obviously didn’t affect stay. Overall a lovely apartment, great weekend. We shall return.
The house was bright, clean and in a good location, away from the hustle and bustle but easy 10 minute walking distance to town centre. Everything in the house was to a high specification from furniture to bedding.
Beautiful countryside with excellent opportunities for longer and shorter hikes. Not too far from the beach (40 km). Pub with good food within 10 min drive, shops further away. Car necessary.
This is a very lovely home. This is still the owners vacation home when they come to town. It is in excellent shape. Everything you would need for a short or long stay. First time we stayed there for 30+ days. This time 10 days. Our daughter & family live 3 blocks away. If I were to go back to Emsworth I would definitely stay there again. Can't give a better rating then that. All the comforts of home.
The accommodation had everything we needed. It is very clean, comfortable and quite. Whilst the owners where close (next door) we where not disturbed in the least, not withstanding they where on hand if we needed anything (which we didn't) It Is set in a very quite, peaceful area and there are local shops within 5 minutes from the location. If you need further shopping facilities the town of Chichester is very close and has a very large selection of shops catering for your every need. Additionally there is a beautiful Cathedral in additions to other attractions. David and his lovely wi...more
This is a historic cottage in a terrace close to the centre of Chichester so the location is excellent and a real plus. However, parking can be difficult, and often we had to park some way down the road or even in another road, due the volume of cars needing spaces. The owners were terrific - very pleasant and responsive and they made sure we had plenty of parking stickers. The cottage itself needs some work - there were holes in the doors in the extension and it was not clear to us why they had not been replaced or properly repaired before making the place available for holiday let. Had a wonderful stay for 7 days. Would definitely recommend to anyone who doesn’t mind a two story house and would love to return.
We have stayed at Avocet Quay for a number of years now and have always enjoyed our visits and hope to return next year. The deck house is very comfortable and has everything you need. The views across the ponds are beautiful - we love it. We being Neil and I, my mum and our dog Missie.
Very comfortable place in a quiet location. Ideal based for visiting the area. Access was not quite what we were expecting.
The flat is a compact roof conversation, with everything new. It is in a beautiful rural location next to a hay field and not far from Emsworth.
Excellent property to tour Chichester & area. Quiet & relaxing Excellent facilities Ideal for our trip to Goodwood
Emsworth was a wonderful find peaceful and low key for both st south coast. Cottage was located on small residential road, mainly used by pedestrians walking their dogs, overlooking a mill pond. Cottage was comfortably furnished to a good standard. Good use was made of the space and well equipped. Raised deck area in garden gets a lot of sun. Central staircase is steep however the 6 year old staying managed it fine. More of a consideration is the sloping roof in the bathroom for very tall people. We enjoyed our stay and booking was straightforward.
This house is located on the north side of the Chichester ringroad. An eight minute walk to City center through pleasant streets. A nice house, pleasantly furnished, good beds, good kitchen appliances, a well working refrigerator. In the dining room, a stunning Britain map produced in Germany. With respect to light, of course being in a large city the house is not very bright. But it is pleasant to live in. A place that I can recommend. This property also features an excellent letting agent providing friendly service.
Compact and comfortable pied-a terre in easy reach of Bognor Regis and Chichester. Well appointed kitchen, and inclusive access to wi-fi is a definite bonus. Looking forward to a return visit once he planned renovations / extensions are complete. Slight negatives : For me the single beds are a bit too short, and I kept finding the duvet on the floor, so I moved to the double bed. The fence beside the car park is not very secure, and tended to flap towards the car in the high winds. I've mentioned these negatives directly to the Pillings.
Hi We had a great week at The Salterns. We spent every day at Glorious Goodwood and then spent a relaxing evening having dinner on the balcony overlooking the lovely view and wonderful sunsets. It was very hot weather and luckily we had been supplied with two tower fans which we needed as the bedrooms were very hot mainly due to the safety windows only opening a little at the top. Would definitely come back.
This is our second booking for this property so as returning guests it is clear we are very happy with the standard on offer and is good value for money. As regular visitors to the South Downs we are sure to check out availability again in the future. This property is ideal for guests who require two bedrooms and bathrooms which provide good shared accommodation alongside bespoke bathroom and sleeping for two couples travelling together. (Equally good for families with older children/teenagers - note...some of the glass furniture may be a risk to younger children and toddlers) The whole pr...more
An exceptionally quiet location right by the shore. The property is ideal for families with young children. Easy access to Bognor and Chichester is only 20 minutes away.
Very comfortable and well-appointed house with glorious views, beautifully situated on the water's edge. Ideal for walks and access to Chichester. The gift of wine from friendly owners was much appreciated.
We booked this place specifically because we are researching our family's history in West Sussex, so the location was very good for our purposes. Our great grandmother was brought up here 1844 - 1851 whilst her father was serving a term of transportation for sheep stealing. Of course, it has been done up a bit since then and there is plenty of parking, it's on a bus route, very quiet, and retains the post 1834 Poor Law (Amendment) Act basic structure. It is a grade 2 listed building. Instructions for getting keys and getting in were fine, but we had to seek help from another resident a...more
Very good accommodation, we enjoyed our stay in tabernacle cottage. Approximately 10-15minutes from west wittering Beach
This was my second time staying here, so no surprises. It is an excellent property, right in the heart of Emsworth above the Driftwood cafe. The property is spacious and light, ideal for family with 2 kids (sharing a bedroom). The bathroom and kitchen both new’ish with everything you need. The welcome foodstuffs is a nice touch, which was very much appreciated (the Isle of Wight cheese particularly). The cafe downstairs is excellent, and we ended up having breakfast/ lunch there a few times. The only downside is the parking, as there is no space / permit, so you only have 45 mins...more
The good parts: 1. Location. It is beautiful and peaceful 2. Comfy bed and big powerful shower 3. Clean and modern 4. The people at Premier Marinas were friendly and helpful The bad parts: 1. It's way too hot. It needs air conditioning and blinds on the windows (outside). The hot water system makes it even hotter and the cold water also runs hot. 2. It needs comfy loungers and a sunshade on the patio. 3. We were there three weeks but no-one offered to clean, or change the linen. We had to ask for the bed to be changed and were given the run-around on whose responsibility it was. 4. Th...more
5 East Row Mews is a very centrally situated location in Chichester. The property was very clean and the beds were comfortable. I was surprised by the fact that there were no toiletries or hair dryer....maybe I should have read the description more carefully rather than have just assumed, that like every other property I have rented, these would be included. It would also have been helpful to have had instruction manuals for the oven, microwave and washing machine. It was very noisy whilst we were there as there were open air films being shown in Priory Park on two of the nights, but I guess...more
Should have outdoor BBQ in a property of this quality. Facility on hob to simulate a BBQ would cause too much smoke etc. inside the house and be a nightmare to clean. Outdoor furniture hasn't been cleaned since last year by the look of it.
Close to the town center with only a short walk to shops and cathedral we had a wonderful holiday in Chichester. The apartment is comfortable and nicely furnished.
We have stayed twice at the Toll House for 3 weeks each time and its just great. Clean comfortable and warm. I recommend it to any family or couple. Fully equipped, takes a little getting used to cooking on an Arga but there is also a conventional cooker as well. Great place to stay!!!!!!!!
Loved the stay and area. Wonderful light comfortable house. Love the stained glass around it too Thank you.
Overall we had a great stay. I would happily reccommend it to anyone. The ease of parking was handy and the flat itself was well equipped and compfy. Only one negative from our point of view: there’s no washing machine, which may not be a problem for a short stay. The laudrette reccommended only offer a service wash and didn’t do a very good job. That aside, the flat was perfect for our needs.
Lovely cottage with a stunning garden. Very peaceful. Felt like it was a much loved home as opposed to an anonymous rental. Would happily return.
We haved a problem with hot water at arriving and cleanliness of the house. Laura was very efficient and solved the problem the next day. I think the person in charge of cleaning and control the house before our arrival didn't look properly.
Can highly recommend this flat which is really priceworthy, clean, and big. The much better choice than any of the local hotels that are close to the hospital.
Lower Street cottage is a great place to stay. Has everything you need and was clean and tidy. Nice little garden out back for our 2 year old to play in. Very secure. Thanks for having us! Kerry, Justin and Lexi
We very much enjoyed staying at Frankland Terrace. It is perfectly placed for enjoying the area and there are plenty good eating places within a short walking distance. Our only bad comment would be that the shower was more of a drizzle. the hose leaked to make it even more inefficient.
Lovely place to stay, comfy and clean.Only one problem, lots of ants.Downstairs bathroom and kitchen, ants everywhere. Not too much of an inconvenience but annoying.
We stayed in this lovely little house for a number of weeks while waiting to move into our new home in the area. Birch End was very well appointed, clean, and perfectly suited our needs.
Delightful period cottage, full of character and well maintained. Host was particularly welcoming and provided an excellent and generous welcome pack. Chichester town centre is 10-15 minutes walk from the cottage.
Really enjoyed our 4 day break at The salterns. The place was lovely and clean and in a lovely location. Only a couple of small gripes. 1: There is no mirror to dry hair apart from in the bathroom but there is obviously no plug in there 2: There is no Air conditioning so we felt it quite uncomfortable through the night. There are a couple of fans to blow air but they only circulate the air in the room. Apart from that these apartments are lovely and we would definitely stay here again
We were 6 adults + 1 child (3 years) staying for a week and we had family and friends over to visit and stayed for a cup of tea. There was plenty of room for everyone. The only downside was that the house only have one bathroom/toilet.
We had an absolutely fantastic stay . The house was well equipped and had everything we needed and more for a three week holiday with children. The house was very comfortable and bright. Being on the beach for that long was a magical experience - we all enjoyed a daily swim and bodyboarding. The area is extremely interesting to explore for nature lovers. Pagham lagoon and wetlands are within walking distance. Bognor with its supermarkets is within easy driving distance, as is Chichester for shopping and visiting historic sites. The South Downs national park is also within easy striking distanc...more
Beautiful bungalow, lovely and modern inside.Nice secure garden. Great location. Very clean as well. Been twice to Kalami.
Perfect location, smart modern appartment with all amenities including a nice touch of coffee machine and stock of pods. Wonderfiul place and we want to book again for next year. Michael and Jane Madigan
We had a very nice week staying at Spence Cottage. Very clean, everything you , lovely tiny garden. Only downside was the traffic noise, but that can‘t be avoided. Short drive to the beach, lovely walks in the area and only 20 minutes drive to Goodwood (we came for the Festival of Speed).
Clean, spacious and well equipped. Centrally located in Midhurst, and quiet despite being on the main street.
Nice roomy house for 6 people. Good size bedrooms, lovely size garden - just be careful playing football that the ball does not go in the stream. Chairs in the lounge were a big hit! Small minus point is the shower - need to make sure there is no water and pressure loss out of the tube under the console. Good wi-fi.
Lilian is a lovely lady, always so very helpful, cottage is small but comfortble and cosy warm, this our second year there and all being well we will be spending next year there as well. would like wi-fi that would be nice.
Was not impressed by having noted telling is to dump rubbish over Bunn Leisure or the dump! I’m on holiday so not doing that! Also TV went blank a few times. Not good. Seagull poop everywhere in the garden, should have provided covers for chairs and table. Did not like the note that said I use the left over milk etc please leave some for our next guests....like you are going to leave gone off milk etc in fridge for a few weeks??? Won’t stay here again. Very disappointed with Henry Adams for letting the owners do this!!
Back in the early 1970s, IBM Canada transferred my wife and I to Havant for a three year assignment. During that period we lived on Hayling Island across from the Mengeham Rythe Sailing Club and then at Woodend up near West Stoke / Funtington. My wife taught in the Havant school and our first son was born there. So we came back to attend a wedding in Bosham of the son of one of our friends who lives in Bosham. We knew the Anchor Bleu very well back then and I raced a Finn all over Chichester Harbour. So the Oysters location could not have been better bringing back many memories of the beau...more
We've just spent a wonderful week in this property, we were 3 couples and 1 single. There wasn't a 2nd set of keys for us to use as indicated in the house details and I have to admit we struggled with the key safe, height, getting the keys to stay in the safe and to close it then, plus the prickly shrubbery next to it. One of the sofa chairs was a bit lumpy and lobsided ,( the one immediately in the lounge) . Lack of wardrobes in 2 of the bedrooms meant We had 5 people using the the main bedroom wardrobe. Also lack of any mirror close to a socket for doing hair in every room. The property w...more
A perfect location for exploring Chichester.. The flat itself is large and well equipped. However, there were a few things which could have been improved. A bath mat and a tea towel would have been useful, as would an oven glove and spare toilet roll! A couple of dishwasher tablets and some detergent for the washing machine would also have been handy! Also, no bed side light on one side. Parking in Chichester is obviously difficult: this parking is extremely tight - I only have a small car but was blocked in and couldn’t even get into my car. There should be a folder of useful informat...more
We booked Poplars Farm to host a party to celebrate my 50th birthday in a fun but relaxed way. It superseded my expectations! What a fantastic location and house with everything you could possibly want or need for a weekend's stay. We were blessed with gorgeous weather over the weekend so it made the surroundings even more idyllic. My guests were all in awe and we were all trying to work out how we could move down and take it on as a country retreat!! Loved it!!
It was a lovely, very comfortable cottage in beautiful surroundings. We will definitely be back some time.
Our second year here at Aura Favoni, and we much enjoyed this lovely spot. We would like to book for next year, can you let me know if you are still handling the bookings?
I stayed in No1, Cathy's own flat,as she had mistakenly double booked No 2. It was very comfortable & Cathy made me very welcome & let us use all her equipment.
This was our second stay at Himalaya. We visit during the West Dean International Classical Guitar Festival as a base to go to the concerts. We also love to visit Pallant House and other galleries in Chichester as well as Bognor for the sea. The flat is clean, bright and comfortable and the price seems right for what it offers. We love the Buddha and being able to browse the travel books written by the owners who let out the flat while they are away on adventures! One small(ish) thing - We had hoped that the shower experience would have been improved during the year between our visits - A w...more
Lovely spacious and relaxed house, with a good mix of adult and child friendly features, and great location. The only shortcoming for us was that there was no information sheet with things like the wifi code, recycling system, local facilities and services such as GP and pharmacy, and recommendations for places to eat. Perhaps this can be provided for future guests.
Emsworth is a nice village. The house is very near to the sea. If you want to visit London from there you can take the train without changes. Arundel Castle was superb! Beautiful nature everywhere.
We stayed for a week , beautiful garden, nice and spacious house. The shower glass screen in main bedroom was leaking so the floor was always getting very wet and we had to dry it out with towels not very practical... Toilet flush was leaking as well. We could have done with a few more glasses ... We mentioned it as we checked out so should be fixed.
Good location, nice property but what lets it down is cleanliness, did not expect to find a half empty congealed bottle of milk in the fridge, nor have to clean the kitchen and bathroom before we could use them. Comfortable kitchen diner and very good beds with clean linen provided(as long as you don’t mind non matching covers and pillow cases).
Beautiful house with lovely garden. 3 double beds and 4 single beds so great for a big group like we were. And house has got everything you need. Only the double bed in the garden house was quite uncomfortable and only suitable for 1 person, not a couple. But the other beds in the main house were great. In terms of the location please note that the map on the ad is very misleading, it shows the house being in Eartham and we thought we could walk to the local pub in 5 mins. It is actually 5 mins drive/40 mins walk north of Eartham! so don't expect to be able to walk anywhere. Also we found it o...more
Overall the house was ok, clean and great location. Personally i think a little work could be done with regards to the holiday letting side, no welcome manual, so no instruction on how to use the shower, heating, etc. and details on where is good in the local area, for dining and sight seeing. We were staying for nearly 2 month as relocating to the area, so for this length of stay, further items were needed, the hoover is hard to use, no mop provided for cleaning the wood effect floors. Only 1 door key. parking can be a little tricky in the cul de sac, no selected parking bay.
Great apartment , i really enjoyed my stay here. The apartment was very clean . The customer service is excellent , i will stay again thank.you Henry Adams Holiday
Lovely small cottage done up to a very high standard in a central location. Well equipped but small kitchen, lovely fittings throughout. Short walk to the West Wittering beach, saving on the daily parking charge! (Very) steep stairs and the fact that the toilet is downstairs make this unsuitable for very young children or those who are not 100% mobile.
Although we loved the location of West Mount Cottage and the welcome pack was very thoughtful, the 2 most crucial items in this property were sadly lacking. The beds were extremely uncomfortable (my husband suffers with a bad back and was in agony by the middle of our stay), and no relief could be found on the sofas as they also lacked any support whatsoever. No dishcloth (I bought one), mop and bucket, broom, vacuum or toilet brush were provided so any cleaning was almost impossible. I would suggest the beds and sofas be replaced to ensure a comfortable stay for future guests and more facili...more
Springs in top bunk poking through, uncomfortable for grandson. No mention of the fact there was not a table to sit at for meals which is difficult for young children to balance plates on their lap. But otherwise a lovely cottage.
We were over from the USA for unfortunately a funeral...We did not want to stay in a hotel or B and B situation..We also wanted to have peace and quiet and a nice natural surrounding area with plenty of room... This cottage was excellent..Filled with art work and books..Everything worked...Very pleasant and spacious old home..Great vibes..A horse farm in the back gave us a vista and we got to feed the horses apples...Great pub 5 minutes walk away...Queens Head...Cab service reliable and excellent.Gravers...Got to explore Petersfield..Sleepy small typical English village...Good restaurant Fez ...more
The location is lovely. The property is tired and in need of a refurb. The decked balcony was very worn with broken wood and flaky paint. Towel rail in bathroom was loose and no where to hang loo roll?? There was a lot of dust on skirting and doors on arrival. Double bed was not very comfy. The seating in lounge is plastic covered, no cushions so not very comfortable to snuggle up in after a days walking. These are just points to take note of. If you want a quirky, budget property in a fantastic location then it's great! Just be aware that it is not luxurious.
This was our second stay at this property, which is ideal for us and our two dogs. Being less than 50 metres from the shoreline and public footpaths makes it very easy for walking the dogs. Emsworth town, with its many pubs and restaurants, is no more than a 10 minute stroll, which makes the location of Avocet Quay excellent for our needs. The "pod" itself is "Tardus" in nature (ever expanding), very comfortable and ideal for a relaxing break.
A very disappointing experience. The house is NOT luxury as described. Poorly maintained and poorly equipped with almost everything old and tired. A number of basic items not available. My family and I struggled to find anything positive to say about the house apart from the location.
Our 3rd visit. The kitchen is now lacking in some areas - the oven and knives in particular. WiFi is poor. Otherwise, we had a good stay.
Position good although reading the notes and viewing pictures I thought this cottage was overlooking the prom. The cottage was not very clean. The rug in lounge very dirty. I don't think any cleaning has been done under the beds (see bunk room) the ironing board was left out in lounge. The kitchen bin has a banana skin in so that wasn't cleaned. The bathroom cabinet too low so that you bump head when rinsing mouth or washing face. The extractor in bathroom not working so mould on tiles and very damp. When window open the builders can see in as their ladder was outside. The wardrobe in the bunk...more
We stayed at the property for 4 weeks and enjoyed being there. Emsworth has a lovely atmosphere and Rookery Cottage was an ideal base from which to walk and also to explore the coast. It was ideal for the two of us and our two young grand children loved it when they visited for a few days.
Good location but house needs made maintenance and cutlery and plates needed proper cleaning asking and poor selection of glasses
The property was very disappointing. This is the 7th property we have rented this year and by far in the worst condition. I hesitate to use the word but it was filthy. The dirt under chairs, tables and beds was pretty disgusting. The dining table still had the remains of a previous tenant's meal on it.The bedding smelt and felt damp. There were numerous dead insects in many of the rooms including the bathroom and cloakroom. The cloakroom, although having a towel rail and towel, does not have a sink to wash your hands. The kettle is so furred up the boiled water for a hot drink is just not drinkabl...more
This property has 2 things going for it, the location (in the middle of the island) & there is a Co-op a few minutes walk away. The problem we had was that the beds and furniture were very uncomfortable, but someone else might find them O.K., we are all different afterall.
