Since first coming to Ivy Chimney quite a few years ago, and not long after it was first made available, we never tire of the pure escapism we feel as soon as we walk into the cottage. It's doesn't feel or look any different from when we first set foot there (apart from some very nice updates that have just enhanced the experience). It's a perfect location to explore the whole of Cornwall and close enough to be near the beaches but rural enough to be away from it all.

Matt, Tam and the boys are the perfect hosts, and it almost feels like visiting family when we go there.


Highly recommended to couples who want the best of everything!

Very clean, nice and bright and modern inside. Nice balcony/patio with great views.
Lovely bathroom with heated floor. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely comfy bed. In the grounds of a lovely big garden with horses and chickens.
Great location. We easily visited the following locations on day trips from the cottage: St. Ives, Porthcothan beach, Falmouth (and boat trip over to St. Mawes), Newquay, St Agnes/Chapel Porth Coastal walk (Tin Mine), Redruth, Portreath, Perranporth beach, Truro.

Always very happy with our stay at ivy chimney cottage. It is everything we need for a relaxing holiday. The facilities are are excellent and the location is ideal for visiting the area. The hosts are really friendly and look after us well.

We enjoyed the staying for three week during our summer holidays: a very lovely place, near to services but also peacefully if you need some rest.
the Owners were very kind and everything was perfect, also for our dog!

Ivy Chimney Cottage is a lovely place to stay in the heart of the Cornish Countryside but only a short distance from stunning sandy beaches and fantastic walks, After a day out exploring the many beautiful surrounding locations, we looked forward to coming back to relax at the bright, clean and well equipped cottage. Our favourite nearby village was St Agnes. Such a pretty place with traditional pubs and supermarkets to cater for every need. The beach was beautiful too. We would definitely stay at Ivy Chimney Cottage again.

We had a lovely stay even in the heatwave as the breeze was gorgeous owners were very accommodating, our only recommendation is the recycling if it could be bit better explained and our 1 and only gripe but it may of just been us the beautiful floor was lovely but creak even walking tentatively was just so creaky !! Other than that cannot fault a thing

This is our second stay at this property and we love it. The accommodation is delightful and has everything we need. Ideal for using as a base, plenty of local attractions and also for venturing further afield. Views from the veranda are stunning. Very quiet and private. The owners live next door and are extremely pleasant and nothing is to much trouble.

We had a great stay at the cottage, it is always up to our expectations and is in a lovely location. The hosts are excellent, helpful when needed but discreet and very friendly. We love this place.

The cottage is lovely with everything you need for a comfortable holiday. The owners are lovely too, on hand if you need them but not in any way intrusive. The location is great for exploring the whole county as well.

We had a lovely week's holiday in Ivy Chimney cottage.The cottage is even nicer in real life than on the website. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was the best we have experienced in the many holiday cottages we have stayed in. The owner was very welcoming and the cottage felt very private even though the owner's house was close by.The location was very convenient for the coast and the village of St Agnes. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, as did our two dogs and we hope to return next year.

.Lack of equipment for the microwave..
.Upper floor cieling could do with some kind of warning, visible.
.No exterior sign to indicate we were "there". Emerging from the drive was "blind".
We will not write an essay on all that we truly enjoyed, the relaxed agricultural setting, standard of equipment and good space. Above points raising constuctivley. The owners maintained a discreet but aviailable presence. Well done for all the work they have put in. The cottage will attract a great deal of praise.

A clean and comfortable cottage that met our needs. We walked every day using the quick access to the tram road to get to Portreath and the quiet roads to get to Porthtowan.
Needed the car to go out at night but nothing was too far. Everything needed to eat in was available with shops a short walk or ride away.
Would definitely stay here again if looking to visit in this area.

Ivy Chimney Cottage has been a total dream place to stay right from the first time we set foot in there. It's more than a holiday location to us... more like coming home to our best getaway you could imagine. It's always spotless and so quite. Couldn't think of another place that gets anywhere as comfy and cosy. That coupled with the nicest family that owns it that are there anytime they are needed, who could ask for anything more!

Another lovely stay at Ivy Chimney Cottage.
Perhaps more cutlery and china so we don’t have to put the dishwasher on when only half full.
Luckily the hens were laying so managed to take home some fresh free range eggs.

Was meant to stay here last year but due to covid we rearranged for this year and was definitely worth the wait. Absolutely loved staying here , the property itself was beautiful and clean and an info pack was left on the table for our arrival which was a nice touch. It’s situated across from the owners house with parking available next to the property , however it still felt very private and was nice to know that they were there if needed. The location was perfect as it was a nice central spot which enabled us to travel to multiple destinations in Cornwall without really having to travel over an hour to reach them. I would definitely recommend this accommodation and already have done to family , we will definitely be staying here again in future. Thankyou for a wonderful stay.

This was our third stay, would have been our fifth but Covid stopped that. The cottage is a perfect place for a relaxing break, in an ideal position to visit all that Cornwall has to offer and is cosy to return to after your day out. Owners are warm and welcoming and have set up a beautiful holiday home. Love it so much we have already booked another weeks.
