The weather was outstanding, the villages, beaches and cliffs were beautiful. We enjoyed walks around Trelowarren the family. We especially enjoyed the delicious pizza at Trelowarren on Sunday evening!
The Trelowarren estate provided us with everything we needed for a three-generation family holiday. Gweal Gullas has a downstairs bedroom and wet room so it was easily accessible meeting everyone's needs. The house is within the woods providing easy access to acres of woodland walks. The heated outdoor swimming pool and yoga classes were a welcome treat. Days out were spent visiting the many local attractions within a short drive - the Lizard Point, St Michael's Mount, St Ives, Loe Pool and the Helford Estuary. I would thoroughly recommend both the house and the location at any time of y...more
Happy week at Chyreen - high spec property, set in lovely woodland area. Lots of activities in the local area.Highly recommended.
We have been staying at Trelowarren for many years. Every time is magical, peace in beautiful properties, in the perfect location. You are left alone, but if you need anything it is sorted. We have stayed in a number of the cottages, and are always delighted with how clean, and well presented they are. Every comfort is thought of without the fuss, and we really feel at home. We will be visiting for many years to come. Well done, and thankyou.
A wonderful holiday home. Everything that you could possibly need is there! It is quiet and peaceful and a great rejuvenator! Would definitely stay again. Thank you.
Fogou has a totally enclosed garden, hard flooring downstairs and lovely walks from the door. Ideal for dogs. It has been refurbished since we last stayed, and looked very smart. It has some very attractive period features coupled with modern comfort. The layout downstairs- log burner almost hidden by the huge table is not ideal but works well enough. There are 2 TVs downstairs with a great choice of programmes. Upstairs the beds and bed linen are wonderfully comfortable after an active day. Thank you -a great stay.
Primrose is a small but perfectly proportioned house that has been recently decorated and is well equipped. The house is attached to another rental but whilst we stayed here it was quiet. The house benefits from some wonderful views and has a cosy log burner for cold winter nights - even if logs are £3.50 a bag! The house was very clean perhaps at the expense of a later check out time but the staff were very helpful and the process was exceptionally easy. Most of the windows are private however, the door to the house could benefit from a blind or voile. Similarly, the directions to the cottage...more
As always - lovely. Some lightbulbs were dead. There was a draught coming through the window downstairs at the back and also in the bedroom with the bathroom. Very relieved that the front garden was dog proof!
We are huge fans of Trelowarren and love its beauty and wildness. The houses have comfy beds and luxurious bed linen and are generously designed. I think the marketing of the estate is not entirely helpful with its emphasis on ‘5 star’ luxury. Yes there are clear elements of that, but also examples of faded and stained furnishings that urgently need replacing. We know they will be in time but looking at other reviews not everyone is accepting of this, and it results in bad publicity. So we suggest play down the ‘5 star luxury’ bit and play up the romance, wildness and comfort.
Such a super place! We used the gym and pool this time and it really added to our pleasure. Great place for a facial too. The walk down to Tremayne Quay is tremendous especially with the benefit of a Gear Farm pasty, it is so peaceful and there is a good chance of hearing a curlew. This year some lovely autumn colours in the grounds.
Wheal Prosper is beautifully designed, with careful atttention paid to the soft furnishings as well. As such it looks stylish and gives an impression of understated luxury. The kitchen is huge and well - equipped, and there are views everywhere to outside. Stairs are quite steep and there is a short trek from the car park. Neither of these are an issue unless you have a disability. The garden is not fully enclosed. Sunday lunch in the New Yard was fabulous, as was my March special treatment at the spa. All highly recommended.
We love the Trelowarren estate. We have almost stayed in all the houses now excluding the great office. We spend Christmas and Easter there with the odd week in between. I like Penhillick it’s bright and spacious. My only criticism is the lumpy sofas, they are definitely showing their age. Despite that I will continue to stay at Trelowarren on a regular basis.
This was my first time renting a house for a holiday, we were 6 people celebrating a special birthday, Goldfringy at Trelowarren was perfect. The house was everything we wanted and the location perfect. A swim every morning made up for indulging in local fayre. We were visited by a pheasant each day and the woods around us were magical. The reception staff were so helpful and friendly when we needed advice on the locality and when we had to report a chipped cup!! It was a week of luxery to remember at an everyday price, we will definatelty be back.
We had the most wonderful stay for a week in the 16 th century Drs. Cottage! What an Amazing historic cottage that had all the supplies and conveniences. Was so relaxing enjoying fires and meals around the big farm table and sleeping in the attic room. From our arrival it felt like we had escaped into another world! Even during the winter the grounds and gardens were so beautiful! A highlight was taking walks by the daffodil fields! Learning about the long family history of Trelowarren was like an amazing history lesson and walking around the grounds is like a visual history lesson. Attended a...more
The house was perfect for Christmas. Cosy, comfortable and spacious. The woodland views are stunning. Easy to access the pool and restaurant in New Yard. Highly recommended for a relaxing break.
Wheal Liberty is a lovely place to stay, whatever the weather. Warm, comfortable and very well equipped so home cooking is easy. Restaurant, pool and spa all great, and the Lizard is always interesting to explore
None of the interior has been changed since I became involved which must be 10 years ago... Consequently the sofa cushions have lost their definition, the lamps are tired, the downstairs bathroom is very datef and the heating is extortionately expensive Despite this it remains good cottage in a great location...
