Hidden down a long country lane on the edge of the rural village of Edgefield, 15 minutes south of the beautiful North Norfolk coast and just north of Norwich, eight four star self-catering cottages are set around a grassy courtyard.
Converted from traditional Norfolk flint barns and stables and incorporating many original features, the cottages sleep 2 - 6 people in one to three comfortable bedrooms.
Our cottages have achieved 100% for cleanliness from Visit Britain four years in a row and are equipped and maintained to offer everything you need for a great countryside holiday.
The excellent Pigs pub is only 10 minutes on foot.
This was our 9th or 10th visit to Wood Farm, and this year proved to be very different from every other. The snow and gales meant we couldn't stray far from Wednesday onwards, but Holly Cottage offered us a cosy bolt hole to catch up on some reading. The Pigs Pub kept open with staff staying there overnight to continue giving an excellent service in these adverse conditions.
We will of course be back next year. Can't wait.
We enjoyed our stay.
2 minor things which were slightly irritating was the fridge door and the can opener.
It isn't possible to open the fridge door with one hand.
The can opener, requires replacing.
As I say both minor.
We had a very warm welcome, lovely people to deal with.
We will most certainly recommend staying here, which I do often.
Don't let my minor comments put you off.
Wood Farm is absolutely wonderful - great location in the heart of the countryside, near the beaches, with lovely fresh, comfortable and clean rooms. Beech cottage is especially great as the living area connecting to the kitchen makes a really nice socialising space for cooking and eating together, playing games etc.
Having the Pigs pub within walking distance is a real unique selling point for Wood Farm, as you can just wander down and back for a few drinks / dinner without having to worry about driving etc!
Diana and her team were welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived.
After spending a week in Oak last September we jumped at the chance to secure a last minute weekend away in this wonderful cottage.
From fish and chips in Sands restaurant in wells-next-the-sea to home cooked sautéed Swordfish with stir fry veg and pilau rice and cooked Veggie breakfasts in Horatios of Holt the whole weekend was a restful and relaxing break enhanced by good comfort in beautiful surroundings.
Already looking forward to our next visit.
We have just had a very comfortable stay in Rowan Cottage, Wood Farm. The cottage had everything we needed so was a peaceful ‘home from home’ in an arable farm setting. A high point for us was seeing the barn owl flying at night. Would recommend this for a quiet retreat, a short drive from the facilities of Holt and close to beautiful coastline.
