Very comfortable and cosy and we will be coming back for another season ,we were very lucky with the weather ,it was great.
We had a wonderful stay at the Cow Hide for New Year Eve. It was the perfect peaceful getaway we were expecting. The area was lovely and worth exploring, with some trails easy accessible from the cottage. The cottage itself was impeccable and nicely decorated, with all the amenities you would need. Underfloor heating was really nice, keeping our feet warm. The views from the cottage leave you in awe and feeling blissful. Our host, Caroline was great, she looked after us and was very kind, made sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely come again in the summer as we didn't get to see t...more
Great hosts with lovely welcome pack, the accommodation was spotless and cosy and the peaceful surroundings made this the perfect spot. Easy walk via footpaths and blue bell woods from rock house mews to the village and fab location for walks and the coast, highly recommend
The owner was very pleasant and helpful, we found the accommodation very comfortable and had everything we needed and also exceptionally clean. It is in a good location and there are plenty of Places of Interest nearby to visit.
Down Under was great. It was exactly what we were after. It is a lovely place and a good base for exploring the surrounding area. It is well fitted out and a has very well equipped kitchen - we gave it a good test cooking a big roast dinner. It is somewhere we will definitely go back too
Three of us had a long weekend in Selsey, planned to link in with a family birthday celebration locally. Sea Pinks Cottage was everything we could have wished for: all the comforts of home, an excellent location for what we wanted and great value for money. Chrissy could not have made us more welcome when we arrived and we really did have a superbly relaxing weekend. The courtyard garden is a real sun-trap for a bright breakfast; the house is equipped with everything one could need and the front garden is a perfect spot for an evening glass of wine as the sun goes down. The proximity to Selsey...more
We were warmly welcomed and everything was just right. There were brownies, milk from the farm and all the basics necessary to set up our temporary home in perfect comfort. My husband is not very mobile, but he was able to come and go with ease. There were just two of us, so a bathroom each, really comfortable bed and even small torches to see our way around in the night. The weather was very cold, but we were cosily warm by the fire, with the dogs. We will book again when we come to Sussex next year. thank you Janice and Alan for your thoughtful care and letting us stay in your fascinati...more
Great little studio.Very comfortable. Short walk into town & lots to do nearby. A proper stand up shower over the bath would have made it perfect for us, as we are getting on a bit, but we managed ok. Owners very helpful when there was an electrical problem & quickly fixed. Delicious welcome goodies provided and suggestions as to what was on in the area that week. We visited Fairlight, Rye Harbour ( where we saw Acocets) & took a train into Brighton one day. Also explored some of the 1066 route. We both thoroughly enjoyed our week & loved the town of Rye. We also enjoyed an evening in the litt...more
We picked Dairy Cottage in Burley for location and advertised info .on website. We found the cottage to be very clean and well looked after. The owners were very welcoming and happy to give any help we needed about the area.
The cottage we stayed in was just as it was advertised, it was very well equiped, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The hosts were very attentive with just the right level of contact while we were staying there, the location is very good, just a few minuets from the shops and beaches, The cream tea on arrival is a very nice touch. If we travel in that area again we would definitely stay there again.
We had a very relaxing break at the Buttercup, very comfortable clean and well maintained, loved the location peaceful and quiet . Walked into Rye from cottage took about 15 - 20 min's , interesting town to spend a few hours, with loads of historic buildings and cobbled streets. Will be returning in the future and hopefully staying at Buttercup again.
Truly a superb place to stay. Charlotte was an amazing host. Everything about The Barn was wonderful
A very well equipped and maintained property. Conveniently situated near the restaurants and shops of Rye. An idea base for a short family holiday.
lovely little upstairs flat, walking distance from old town and sea front ,lots of places to eat out fresh fish stalls etc.off road parking is brilliant just watch when you drive up to keep right a bit as i caught underside of car on edge of drive which is a bit high on that side. other than that it is fantastic and would definitely use again
This was an excellent place to stay for a few days to explore West Sussex. We enjoyed being able to walk around the corner to eat at either of the great village pubs. Only very slight problem was the loose toilet roll holder that kept crashing to the bathroom floor (I repaired it - hopefully) and slight problem with a hinge of the kitchen cupboard door holding the waste bin, but these were minor niggles (and did not warrant a phone call to the owner) for somewhere to which we would happily return.
Jubilee House is situated in a cul-de-sac, a short walk away from the centre of Chichester. The property was exceptionally clean, beautifully presented and was very comfortable. We stayed in a cold week in December but were warm and cosy in the house. The owners live next door and called around shortly after we arrived to welcome us and made it known that if we needed anything we were welcome to call on them. The house was really well equipped with everything we needed, including many DVDs, games and books. There was a large table and chairs outside which I could imagine would be very nic...more
My wife and I had a lovely 3 night stay at Beacon Cottage. The welcome from the owners was very friendly and the accommodation was of the highest quality. Plenty of information available and things to entertain us if the weather was poor.
We had four of our engineer stay at this cottage and got great reviews on how nice it was and how welcome they were made to feel. Defiantly recommend staying at this cottage.
Warm as toast in middle of a cold February thanks to central heating plus a log fire and sunlight streaming through the windows. Lovely views through the windows, great walks from the door, South Downs up the road, bird song at dawn, birds and squirrels everywhere in the grounds... perfect!
The Potting Shed is located in an enchanting hamlet in West Sussex (car is essential), surrounded by countryside, streams, fishing lakes and villages (excellent walks). The owners, who live in the main house on site, are all that is friendly and helpful. We liked the cottage, which has a very well equipped kitchen and cosy living area upstairs and two small bedrooms and a bathroom downstairs. Great central heating (well used during an October half term), good wifi. My one quibble was that the bedrooms were a bit damp (lots of rain the week before). All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would rec...more
Was lovely relaxing quiet property set in a great location with easy access to the beautiful New forest, and also close to the lovely town of Lymington. Great pub(East End Arms) nearby and very friendly owners who just let you just enjoy their lovely cottage. Will be back.
We had a wonderful time in the beautiful little cottage, perfectly prepared by Bob & Rosemary. It was all we hoped for, and had a nice, relaxing midweek-stay in West-Sussex. Excellent base to explore the Sussex Downs and the Sussex Coast (if you have a car at your disposal).
This cottage was presented to a high standard and made for a very enjoyable and comfortable stay with our family over Christmas.
First class accommodation with helpful, friendly and unobtrusive owners. Ideal setting, well placed for surrounding amenities. Great base for exploring West Sussex.
Lovely cosy cottage with parking and close to Petworth Park. Would have preferred a stand up shower
Very nice decorated. Good location, close to the walks of the South Down Way. Very comfortable. Quiet place. Very friendly dog! Nice welcome hamper.
Have just enjoyed a very pleasant stay at 76 The Mint with a group of friends. The house is right in the middle of Rye so pubs, eateries and shops are literally right on the doorstep. Having said that, once inside, the house is very private and quiet despite its central location. It is also an easy 5 min walk from the station. The house itself is very beautiful, comfortable and furnished with an eye for detail and quality. The kitchen has everything you could need and there was a very generous welcome pack which we really appreciated. We were blessed with warm weather and enjoyed throwing ope...more
A well equipped and very comfortable cottage which was spotlessly clean. The cottage is a short walking distance from the village centre.
Very stylish house, great interior, design bathrooms, very clean and in a superb location right across the Arundel castle site.
A very well equiped apartment which was comfortable and clean. Well positioned for seafront and shops. A wide range of resteraunts to suit all tastes within easy walking distance. Parking was ok but could be a little aukward at busy times like the airshow. A very considerate welcome pack on arrival along with a very useful personal greeting. Overall a great stay in an apartment that I would recommend.
Stayed at Hayreed Barn for a short break - what a find! The cottage was beautifully presented, clean and cosy with a lovely welcome pack waiting for us! Petra and Matt were really welcoming and helpful and provided us with a useful file of information . Although it has a really rural feel it is only 5 minutes from the main road to Brighton and Hastings so really well located ! Certainly will go back again- hopefully in summer!
We cannot praise this place enough, we no have never stayed in such a clean, comfortable, well equipped place.the owners are lovely and made us very welcome. It's in a perfect position for getting around. We will definitely return for a longer stay. Can't think of anything else to say except WOW, it's amazing.
Wonderful location for the South Downs. Accomodation excellent and the views from Brookes suberb!!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very pretty cottage with it's lovely garden, very quiet at the end of the terrace. The very clean and well maintained cottage has a very nice and cosy interior and everything you could ever need during your stay is there. We really felt at home there. Because Tail End Cottage is situated in the historic heart of Rye, everything is within easy walking distance. To us not being able to park our car near the cottage wasn't really a problem, we have done this before in Rye. We just left the car in the very large carpark, opposite Rye Station (only 2 pounds fo...more
An excellent second stay and home from home. Good base from which to explore Rye on foot and Sussex/Kent border around Romney Marsh.
Nice stay in Amberley, a very pretty village with a lot of nice thatched houses and a wonderful village shop where you could find everything from 7 AM !!! A wonderful welcome from Mary, Guy and their nice dog, everything is well thought out for our comfort, The studio is small and compact but very cosy and comfortable, well heated, the bathroom (no photo on the site) was a nice surprise with a large shower. My husband, who is 1,90 meter high, just had a problem with the low ceilings in the kitchen and in the room, but I think that if we required two separate beds as Mary gently proposed, it w...more
We had a lovely stay at the Old Surgery which has been thoughtfully restored and spotless throughout. It has everything you think you might need with a well resourced kitchen and good quality equipment throughout. The bed and bedding were very comfortable with a nice spacious en-suite. Unfortunately we were unable to make use of the quaint garden and summer house due to the' Beast from the East' prevailing! This meant we could not spend as long walking as we had planned but we were we were happy to spend the evening in, as well as were able to spend a couple of nice evenings eating out in ...more
Stayed at Little Lock Cottage while looking for a house in the area. Everything you could possibly need was provided and excellent quality. The cottage is located in a beautiful rural location with stunning views and lovely countryside. The owners were incredibly helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. Would highly recommend.
Rosemary cottage is a great location if you want to base yourself in the peace and quiet of the Sussex countryside yet be close to the coast. We had a very enjoyable short stay and our dog liked the large grounds which you are able to access. We were made very welcome and the nearby location of Pubs, shops and great fish & chips made it a perfect choice. Hope to make a return trip at some point in the future,
My stay in the skillfully restored Barn was a bliss: the inside so cosy, comfortable and tasteful, the view and the terrace just wonderful, the surrounding gardens marvellous and the hosts so welcoming and charming. It is a very quiet place, perfect for relaxation but situated so well, that you have great places to see very near by. I have been more than happy there.
We booked the house in celebration of Mums 90th Birthday. The downstairs bedroom and en suite bathroom made our break possible as Mum has restricted mobility. The house is in a good location, very well equipped with absolutely everything you need. Comfortable beds and quality furnishings, we plan to return now we have found this gem of a house.
Very comfortable home. Quiet and peaceful area whilst being an ideal base to explore the surrounding countryside, also close enough to the coast to enjoy a visit.
With a lovely welcome we enjoyed a great weeks stay at Bluebells in April. Wonderful location and very peaceful it was the perfect place to stay whilst visiting family. Many thanks.
A cosy attractive cottage in beautiful countryside. We really enjoyed our Easter break here and the cottage was an ideal base
Had a lovely stay in the cottage, nice touches from the owners, including bread, eggs, butter and wine and fresh flowers. Would definitely stay again, and hopefully it won't rain as much.
Lychgate Cottage is very well equipped and is within a short walking distance of Henfield and all it's amenities. The owners were welcoming and helpful and also kindly provided a very generous welcome pack. We enjoyed our stay very much.
The house was very good for 6 people, unfortunately the weather was bad so could not use the pool. It is very near the shops and centre of Petworth an excellent location for an area with masses to do and see. This was our second visit we like it a lot. Owners very helpful and welcoming.
On arriving I was shocked, I knew the house would be beautiful but it was far beyond my expectations! We had fabulous weather so spent alot of time in the charming pool. The gardens are gorgeous with speaking hills for miles and the house interia is full of amazing art. The perfect house for a large group with lovely kitchen and lots of compfy nooks to relax in. Could not have enjoyed our stay more, would love to come back! X
This comfortable upside down cottage in a quiet backwater but close to Brighton was ideal for our short stay. There was everything that we needed for a comfortable break.
Tarante had everything we want from short-break self-catering accommodation; it was clean and comfy, quiet and cosy. Perhaps more importantly it was within easy walking distance of the town centre with its great bars and restaurants, and had parking. The owner was friendly and helpful (the milk was a nice touch, so we could have a much-needed cup of tea on arrival) and every detail seemed to have been thought of in the accommodation. The garden was available to us and it was nice to have an early morning coffee in the sunshine on the decking. Highly recommended.
We had a lovely week, the cottage was lovely, the kitchen well fitted and the welcome pack very well received. Hilary was very welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday
We had a nice welcome of the hosts. On everything is thought: Filled fridge, fresh bread, cookies, drinks, shower gel and shampoo... The place has all the comfort you can think about. Good and well equipped kitchen. Very comfortable bed with view over the terrace. A lot of information about East-Sussex is available. Good place to start walks along the footpaths in fields (with friendly sheep and donkeys) and woods. A good spot to explore the county, cities with nice antique shops, and the coastal area.
The cottage was lovely, big enough for us and our three children. It was spotlessly clean and the kitchen was really well stocked, all the home comforts you need on a self catering holiday. It was a real home away from home, we had a brilliant time and hopefully will be back next year!
We very much enjoyed our stay in the pig barn. It was warm, welcoming and very comfortable. It is situated in the heart of West Dean and meant we could walk into Friston forest and Cuckmere Haven from the door. Excellent base to explore the local area and a cosy haven to head back to. We will definitely return as a great place to stay for short or long stays, as we have family close by. The produce from the Manor House farm shop is also excellent!
Great place to base out of for mid Sussex. Easy access to A23 and Brighton. Well equipped and modern cottage. Good communication with owners.
An excellent base, roomy and well laid out. An ideal spot for walking, cycling and chilling out. Road access to Maidstone or south to the coast is good and generally trouble-free. Headcorn the next small village is quaint and worth visiting for shopping and eating.
This cottage was booked for my daughter and family from Australia. There was 5 of them in all and were comfortable all they needed. Owners very helpfully with letting us view in advance and explaining all about the cottage. Would reccomend.
A most thoughtfully equipped, spacious cottage, perfect for two to stay in comfort. The location is a delight; it is that rare property - quiet but accessible for some lovely National Trust and other houses/gardens. Local wild and farmlife provide a gentle soundscape; Barley is the most polite of little dogs but owners will make sure he does not bother you if you would prefer not. The owners themselves are charming and offered a warm, generous and very genuine welcome.
We really enjoyed our few days at oak Grove. Lots of good walks through the woods towards Haslemere and over Black down without having to take the car out. House itself was clean, cosy and warm. Good enclosed garden for the dog too! Nice to be able to walk into the village for bits and bobs, and easy drive into either Haslemere or Midhurst for supermarket. Would recommend the Red lion in the village for eating out.
Dave and Jean were the perfect hosts for a great week away. The Beacons is well-furnished, high tech but homely, comfortable accommodation with all things to hand. It was so good to be in a quiet location but able to easily access all places around. Thank you for letting us stay
Loved the cosy atmosphere of the cottage. We were made very welcome by the owner, who explained its features (everything you could want, including a very good welcome pack) and also had suggestions of things to do during our stay. Thanks very much.
Quiet restful holiday break in very pleasant surroundings. Excellent accommodation. Warm welcome from Mrs Wiseman set the tone for the holiday.
This is either our 3rd or 4th visit to Croft Cottage and it continues to please! Great location, cosy, warm, quiet (for a terraced house), very clean (by the standards of many rentals). The only reason some of our scores are Good instead of Excellent is because we'd reserve Excellent for newly converted/refurbished rentals which are in as-new condition, but Good doesn't mean Bad in any way! The kitchen and bathroom are both well-planned out; the lounge, dining room and bedrooms are big enough, and everything works. Thanks Jenny!
Had a fantastic long weekend. Beautiful location with the countryside and amazing walks right on your doorstep. Ideal for those with dogs.
What a delightful, peaceful, clean & comfortable Cottage. Everything had been thought of, a perfect 'home from home' A perfect base to visit such a delightful county. Thank you
Both my partner and I thought that the apartment was wonderful. We both enjoyed staying there. It is very well laid out.
An absolutely stunning property in a fantastic location with such welcoming hosts. Would highly recommend.
Excellent property and extras from owner, lovely town and area - rotten location, way too close to A27 and therefore very noisy at all times of the day/night but ok if you can sleep through traffic noise.
Could not fault accommodation and location. Lambles had everything you needed , Lesley and Paul were very welcoming nothing was to much trouble, there if needed but not intrusive.
A delightful cottage in which to stay - in Autumn as it happened. As Keats might say in "a season of mists and mellow fruitfulness". The owner's garden is outstanding. And if it rained there was a most extensive library to enjoy.
Warm, comfortable and quiet, this is a very pleasant place to return to after a day out. The owner provides some essentials items such as bread and milk which are very welcome.
Wonderful cottage that sleeps 10 comfortably with lots of space inside and out for a family occasion.
Very comfortable stay. Everything worked well. There was always plenty of hot water and good showers. The property was in a quiet residential area with woodland walks opposite and also a 10 minute walk into New Milton. The owner was very friendly and welcoming and helpful.
We spent two weeks at Selden Black. The studio was very well equipped with everything you might need. Owners were very lovely and helpful and on hand if you have any problems. We had a lovely time!
Clare’s Cottage was just what we needed. Located centrally between coast and country with many local tourist attraction within a short drive. The cottage itself was well equipped for all our needs. Being on one level with a walk in shower was perfect for my infirm parents. Anne and Charlie were really friendly helpful hosts. They supplied the best welcome pack we’ve ever had in a holiday cottage!
This is a perfect location from which to explore the South Downs. The cottage is beautifully appointed, with a fully enclosed garden, surrounded by extensive grassland. Footpaths and bridleways are plentiful nearby the house, clearly signposted and a pleasure to explore. Parham House is not far away - the parkland also has a scenic right of way across it. Although the cottage is situated towards the end of a private road, it's easy to get to Storrington, two miles away, for anything you might need during your stay. I thoroughly recommend Freeland Farmhouse Stables as an ideal holiday destinati...more
A very pleasant warm & comfortable house with plenty of room to enjoy time together or in separate areas according to how you want to spend time. Lots of nice touches including all the relevant tea, coffee, dish washer and washing necessities included and also hand washing and shower gel! Lots of nice sofa's and chairs to sit on in the lounge unlike a lot of properties. Lovely big Garden although we couldn't enjoy it as much as we would have liked due to the weather. Property ideally located for exploring the surrounding area and attractions. Thank you.
Brilliant stay at Regency House. Lots of character and comfort in a great location! Great space easily catering to a large group. A little worried about parking but we all found a space just outside. Definitely recommend!
This is a perfect peaceful location - there is beautiful countryside all around that you can just walk out into. It is also close enough to be able to walk into and enjoy the amenities in Arundel. The A27 nearby enables you to easily travel along the coast in both directions. John and Karen were delightful hosts.
We had a great time at Priors Barn. We were on holiday in Sussex in order to visit our daughter and new-born grandson who live nearby, but at the same time to relax and enjoy ourselves. The 'Beast from the East' caused us to be snowed in almost as soon as we arrived, but no matter - the barn was cosy and warm, especially with the wood-burner. I don't think we have ever stayed in such a well-equipped holiday cottage. Everything you could think of has been provided plus loads more that you wouldn't have imagined! Whilst it is compact, it doesn't feel cramped, even for a fortnight of wintry wea...more
We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas at Ockman Cottage, which had been beautifully decorated and heated before our arrival. The house is comfortable and well equipped, and the owners are very friendly and helpful. We would love to return to explore the area further.
Very enjoyable stay in a well equipped clean and comfortable cottage, complemented by a sunny conservatory and peaceful cottage garden. Great location, close to Pevansey Castle and perfect for exploring by foot, car, bus or train. Lovely personal touches from the owner including welcome cream tea and basic provisions.
We had a fantastic weekend at Brewery Cottage and will definitely be going back, A quirky cottage with loads of character and charm and I would image a lot of history as well. The cottage is warm and welcoming and has a lovely feel about is. Main feature as you arrive is the huge fireplace, which came in very welcome as the weekend we were there was cold and snowy. All bedrooms are of a good size with comfy beds. The property is very well equipped and very clean. Bathroom and shower very good and overall it really felt like a home from home. Sadly we didn't get chance to use the garden but on...more
Apple Barn was centrally located for us to visit family and friends during our weeks stay. The Barn is spacious, comfortable, warm, well equipped and unbelievably peaceful being located in farm land, whilst being only a few miles from Chichester and the A27 .
We very much enjoyed our stay at Cowslip. The cottage looks small on the outside but is much larger on the inside and is fitted out to an impressive standard.
We all had a perfect break in the most beautiful, peaceful and quiet location - even the weather was perfect! A lovely property - well equipped and extremely comfortable.
Lovely, well equipped cottage. Would definitely book again. Good location - easy to travel out to places
We had a fantastic long weekend at Jasmine Cottage. Lovely house, beautifully furnished, all the home comforts you could wish for.
My friends and I had a lovely long weekend at Little Turret, everything was warm and cosy and the place had everything we needed for the weekend. Would definitely recommend. The owners were also available to answer questions and responded to text and email queries very quickly. And they also have logs stored at the base of the tower, so don't sweat it if you run out or forget to bring some for the wood burner.
Most enjoyable holiday, owners very friendly and helpful. Lovely location close to pretty village. Will definitely be returning.
Had a fantastic stay in this great location. Loads of walks and places to visit locally. Owners very prompted to respond to plea's in preventing our escapist (dog).
Loquat Cottage is a lovely house to stay in. We found it to be well-furnished, comfortable, very clean and everything worked, including the WiFi (even in the attic room). The long garden is an added bonus for warm weather. The walk into Arundel is painless and takes about 7 minutes. (The directions for the best route are handily located in the House guide.)
The barn conversion is excellent, and all the furnishings are of good quality, and we enjoyed our stay. We have done a lot of self catering over the years and was disappointed not to have a welcoming pack of milk tea/coffee if you arrive before searching out the shops this would be a very nice touch. I found also that both bathrooms although very well thought out especially the walk-in shower for guest with disabilities did appear to be very sterile in appearance. The location for our passion of Birding was excellent Pagham harbour a short drive and going out on to the downs was excellent.
The cottage was comfortable, well-equipped and clean and the host, Dora was very accommodating indeed. She was was friendly and helpful. The one slight improvement which we thought could be made would be to provide lightweight duvets for the summer months. We have already recommended Courtyard Cottage to family.
Marine House was a little hard to find but once we arrived we received a very warm welcome from Lucie. The house itself was spacious and very comfortable - perfect for our two-family group. The kitchen area was very sociable with room to spread out and on a winter weekend we made good use of the wood burner and pool table. The children enjoyed the selection of games and loved playing hide and seek in the house. The location was very convenient for both the shore and the shops of East Wittering. Lucie's tips for places to eat were great and we had a lovely meal at Billy's Beach Café. We brought...more
Excellent. Vast space to relax in . Very comfortable. Helpful hosts. Great position in sussex. Go now!
Very friendly host but still felt private. The cottage is small and cosy but had all we needed. Lots of places to explore within a short driving distance.
A truly memorable location in rural Sussex. A warm, comfortable, welcoming and delightful house. There are footpaths and bridle ways in every direction, the South Downs Way is close by, Graffham has its own village shop, and Midhurst is the nearest town for additional supplies and rewarding exploration. There is a traditional and peaceful feeling to the whole area. The woodlands are extensive, the lanes are picturesque, the views of the rolling South Downs landscape are spectacular, and I would thoroughly recommend a visit to Church Cottage for a restorative experience in well-appointed surrou...more
Tucked away amid the Sussex countryside . The owner was very helpful and the cottage was very well equipped and spotlessly clean.. Would certainly recommend it.
We booked a five night break unfortunately we had to delay our journey by one day due to the weather. The house was very warm and welcoming when we arrived and the owners had left coffee, tea, biscuits and chocolates for us. The nearest shop for general groceries is a few miles away so these were very welcome. They had also left coal and logs so we were able to light the fire when the weather became particularly cold. The local pubs are very welcoming, with log fires and provide very good food at reasonable prices. They also allow dogs in the bar. Take a torch with you, there is no street lig...more
When arriving, we were welcomed by our host. It gave us the possibility to get some information about the area and the cottage itself. In the cottage you have a booklet with a lot of information. When we opened the door, we noticed immediately that the cottage was warm, which gives such a nice touch and makes you feel welcome. The welcome basket was also much appreciated. The cottage was spacious for 4 people. TV and DVD were available (with a lot of movies). It was very nicely decorated. The kitchen was wel equipped. The studio was tucked away in a quiet, private little spot which somehow also managed to be close to the train station and high street - making it very convenient for both relaxing exploring. It was a lovely base from which to explore Rye and the surrounding areas. It was straight forward to book, the key pick up and drop off went smoothly and Sharon, the owner, was very welcoming.
We enjoyed our stay in the cottage, it's very well equipped, clean, warm and comfortable. Nice walks in the area.
Just returned from a very relaxing stay at The Bothy Cottage. We all loved this property, so full of character and incredibly welcoming. The Aga made cooking a breeze, and we were delighted with the welcome pack provided by the hotel. The beds were so comfortable, linen exceptional. The weather wasn't kind to us, but we lit the wood burner and chilled. Very pretty enclosed garden,in which we still managed to have an Easter Egg Hunt! Another day we went to Horsham, and then down to Chichester. Well situated for visiting beautiful West Sussex. The hotel reception where we picked up...more
We had a lovely stay at Ivy Cottage, which was our base for days out with the children. The cottage was comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. A good time was had by all!
Lovely break away, shame about the weather but the cottage was perfect. Ian made sure all was well. Would go back!
I really enjoyed my stay at 'The old town Bolthole'. It was perfect for what I wanted- a cosy, warm & comfortable place to unwind. Everything was spotlessly clean & I slept like a log! ( the mattress & bed linen was so comfortable!) I lit the woodburning stove every evening & just relaxed. I didn't bring a car & the Station was only a 20 min walk away & just a short walk to the sea. Shops, cafes, restaurants etc were all close by & I bought my provisions locally. Everything else I needed was provided. I am looking forward to my next visit!
Daisy cottage had everything we could need and more in a perfect location. Really comfortable and clean.
A super weekend at River Cottage. A clean, comfortable and cosy cottage, perfect for a rural escape.
We had a fabulous stay, nice and peaceful, close to the beach, lovely walks all around, the bungalow was very very nice, everything you could possibly need, very comfortable beds, one of the nicest places I've stayed in, definitely going to stay there again, oh and very dog friendly, garden great for the dogs.
The flat was very clean and comfortable. We made a few requests (early check in and a late check out) and the host was very accommodating and prompt response. It really felt as if the property was cared for. Would definitely recommend this property.
We loved this cottage, especially the good mix of character and original features with modern comfort. The garden room was lovely. We stay in a cottage every year and this is our favourite so far.
We stayed at Hunters Cottage for a long weekend. We loved the location and had great walks and pub visits. We went daily to Glyndebourne which is very close. We loved the cozy kitchen. Excellent for post opera suppers. Lovely sitting room with open fire. Wonderful friendly welcome - we were well looked after. We have already booked again!
A lovely place to stay. Peaceful. there are walks from the house. Managed to get out and about despite the weather.
The cottage fulfilled all our needs. The owners were very welcoming and could not have been more helpful especially regarding our two dogs and also visits from our family
This was a good place for a short stay - small but comfortable. Good walking on the downs and across the river meadows, very picturesque villages, fantastic wall paintings in the church next door.
Wonderful walking area, very well thought out cottage equipment, good heating, plenty of hot water, and our dog was welcome what more can you ask!
Good cottage for group of six women- all single beds and relaxing lounge area next to kitchen. A few maintenance niggles but nothing especially worrying so would stay again.
Our 3rd stay at Tackleway Cottage, we love the location and the local amenities. The house is really well kitted out and suits 4 of us (children aged 5 & 7) perfectly. There is plenty of space for us all and it have everything we need. We hope to return again! The spiral stairs may make it difficult for some but they do at least free up floor space.
We stayed three nights at the cottage in late April 2018 and had a great time. The whole property is really clean and well equipped. The owner provided a very fulsome and helpful information pack with lots of suggestions for things to do in the area and the kitchen has everything you could need, including nioce matching mugs and crockery. The location is great, just a short walk to the beach and a nice long country walk to the pretty town of Rye. We have a small child and the cottage was perfect, with high chair and crib provided. The house is full of charm and feels like the residents have just gone out for a stroll because it's full of art, books and music. Kitchen is well-stocked for cooking and baking, and the barbeque set made a welcome change from the Aga. Beautiful location and lush garden allowed plenty of space to stretch out and relex without getting in each other's space. The second bathroom could benefit from some modernising but the seasonal spiders didn't seem to mind! Must have a car to overcome its relative remoteness. In short, a lovely location that feels like a home, not an anonymous modern box.
Our group has stayed at Echo House many times. We look forward to preparing meals together in the well-equipped kitchen, and lounging and chatting on the comfy sofas in the adjacent lounge, both warmed by the double-fronted fireplace. When the weather is fine, we enjoy chatting, drinking, and eating in the well-landscaped back garden. Beds, linens, and bathrooms are stylish and comfortable. There’s a lovely, welcoming atmosphere and we know why the owner treasures this place.
Great location friendly atmosphere very welcoming touches such as milk tea and biscuits...and high standard of facilities...would love to return soon and stay for longer
This was a return visit to Weir View and we were not disappointed! The house is in a lovely setting and provides everything needed for a relaxing break. Bosham train station is nearby and one soon gets used to the sound of the trains passing. The house is well equipped and the seating and beds are comfortable. Local walks are most enjoyable and Chichester is within easy access by car or public transport. We really enjoyed our time at Weir View and plan another visit soon!
A great location on the south coast - near to Chichester and Bognor Regis. Wellow Barn was spacious and well equipped. The owner was not there when we arrived so we were greeted by his son - Paul - who showed us around. Our only complaint would be that the heating had not been turned on (it was very cold when we arrived) and the barn took a considerable time to warm up - after which it was fine. The lack of wifi is disappointing but not a major issue as phone reception is good. Overall - a great holiday stay.
From the moment we arrived at Little Timbers we felt at home. The house is not pristine but it was warm, cosy and perfect for us. The lounge was the perfect size for six adult and the kitchen/diner over looking the garden was perfect too. We all said we would love to return again in the summer to enjoy the beach and garden in warmer weather but that we would also look to see if we could book again for another Christmas holiday. Thank you Little Timbers
This is the second time that we have stayed at Rose Cottage and we enjoyed it more than the first We had the hottest April and so were able to sit in the garden. Then towards the end of the week we had heavy April showers and the temperature dropped so were able to enjoy the wood burning stove. We had the best of both worlds. Arundel is a short walk away (some steep streets to climb but good exercise!) and has plenty of good pubs and coffee shops as well as book and antique shops. The cottage is small but ideal for two or three people. We will certainly return for the total tranquillity of...more
Swallowfield is a lovely cottage with all mod cons, the kitchen was very well equipped, we especially liked the separate fridge and freezer, the sitting room was very comfortable so were the beds, the cottage has everything you need. Within walking distance of shops and nice pub serving good food. Although near a road the cottage was quiet. It has a small garden sufficient to sit out and hang out washing. We have booked again for next year. The only downside is the road as the cottage exit is on a bend and it's difficult to see traffic coming from the right. If there was a mirror on the road t...more
Excellent property, everything works, comfortable and quirky. It being winter we could not really take advantage of the outside space. Would hope to return in warmer weather to take enjoy long leisurely bbq's. Would recommend for family gatherings.
Lovely little cottage, perhaps rather cramped for six people. Nice welcome gifts and the games room is useful for teenagers. Suggestion for improvement would be a few more mugs.
Perfect location near the station and several supermarkets. Lovely cottage, very clean and comfortable. Friendly owners.
Accommodation was comfortable although the sofas are rather tired looking. The lady owner was very helpful. Unfortunately on Saturday afternoon when I was going to make use of the garden the owner/Gardner decided to use the strimmer and lawn mower. Whilst I appreciate it is difficult to fit in maintenance it did mean we were able to make use of the garden.
Second time at the Old Tractor Shed and going back again to a holiday cottage is always a good indication! Toni and David make the stay special and the farm provides a lovely aspect, especially the sheep and horses nearby. Sutton is a great location and easy to navigate from. Lots of lovely walks over the Downs or through nearby villages, close to historic Arundel and not far from the coast. A day in London via Pulborough railway station (15 minutes away) to see our son was a bonus. If you love the country, outdoor life and rural idyll then two weeks is not enough, we hope to be back in 2020 o...more
The house is charming and with plenty of space both on the ground floor with a good separation between the kitchen, the dining room and the living room, as on the first floor where the bedroom and bathroom are. Everything prepared for you to feel better than at home. In the house, there are several books in case you forgot to take a reading, and in the room, you have all kinds of guides for the area. Near the house, there are several routes for those who enjoy walking and want to forget the car for a few days. Also, the owner will give you all kinds of extra information you may need about t...more
Tollgates was a nice cottage providing very comfortable accommodation for our party of 7. We liked the wide open views from the conservatory and the pretty garden to the side and front of the house. There was plenty of parking and good facilities provided. The basket of goodies provided on arrival was very welcome and the information in the house was comprehensive and helpful. As requested, we didn't alter the heating settings but found the radiators came on at very strange times of day and night which was odd, but no other problems.
Charming period cottage close to a variety of attractions, we particularly enjoyed the open fire and the owner was welcoming and helpful.
My second time in Whippingham. I have friends and relatives on IOW and the Creek is a great base from which to see them all and to have peaceful solitude when needed. It is well placed for ferry access, Newport shops , Osborne etc.
Set in a lovely location, and so peaceful and would like to visit again soon!! Thank you for the welcome goodies.
This was our second visit to Manorside, and we were very impressed with the quality of this property. It has a designer finish with all modern conveniences. There were a couple of niggles, the radiators were all turned down when we arrived, and the hot water wasn't working on our first morning - an early start for the Goodwood Members Meeting meant we couldn't wait for the immersion backup option to kick in.
Perfect location. Nearby the park and its further surroundings to walk the dog (for hours, including nice pubs for lunch). Inside the older village (which brings you back two centuries). Very close to the best an most hospitable pub (the dog definitely agrees). The cottage is clean, complete, warm and offers all the facilities you can wish for with four adults and two dogs. Didn't miss anything, although i make it a habit to bring my own cooking knives, tea glasses and filter coffee (which was not necessary). There is a sufficient amount of cleaning tools (including consumables). Towels, be...more
Nice cottagey place in a terrace of cite semis. Well equipped pleasant garden and decking. Petworth is a lovely place as are the Downs, Midhurst and Arundle. Great pubs everywhere
We booked Little House as it was near our son's home, we live in Cornwall and our other children live in Essex and Hong Kong. We all wanted to be together for Christmas and so the location was ideal. It was spacious downstairs with two bedrooms and a bathroom all of a good size and a further ensuite bedroom upstairs (couldn't work the heating upstairs so it tended to be cold). The open plan kitchen and living room allowed a very sociable space. The games room is a great addition when you have a lot of people around and is equipped with a table tennis equipment and a few board games. Al...more
We booked the property because it was so central and right on the river. We had been warned that it was not really suitable for older people but we booked it anyway. I have had two artificial hips so the steep wooden stairs were a bit of a problem especially in the night as the light was not working on the stairs and if you were not careful the corner of the blue cupboard jutting out just by the bathroom door could be a problem. The local dogs used the artificial grass as a loo and this could be a problem with children as the poo would not wash away over time, I just removed it. It was an ...more
Spacious house with amazing view of the beach from first floor bedroom, spacious decked garden backing onto the long sandy beach; good location for Dover Castle, Canterbury Cathedral and Rye, also RSPB Dungeness.
Inside the cottage is cosy and finished to a high standard. Both bathrooms have fantastic powerful showers! I only gave comfort good not excellent as inside there was only room to seat 5 people to watch a film (a 3 seater sofa and two chairs) but it can sleep 6. Outside there was a nice patio area and large table with chairs but the property is not quite finished and it was a shame the grass area is like a ploughed field, full of ruts and the driveway isnt fully finished ( it looks like another property is being built 100yrds or so away but no building was done while we were they so it was sti...more
We weren´t on a holiday but visiting my mum, who isn´t well, so it was nice to sort of come home in the evenings instead of going into a hotel room. And after a day of settling in, it felt like home, Everything that is needed is there, and if there are any hicups Victoria is there to sort them out. We also had an excellent meal at her pub in Middleton. Location is excellent for shopping, eating out and walks on sea front or river. Would come again.
This place for us as a family of four and dog was ideal when we came to the area to visit family and we had a really lovely stay. Ninfield itself does not have much to offer but this should not put anyone who has a car off staying here. The house is in a nice quiet area and the location is a great base to visit lots of different parts of Sussex, many of which are just a short drive away. We found the road outside to be quiet, the house was more spacious than we expected from the photos. The bedroom upstairs was amazing as was the bathroom- just a shame the kids bagged that room and bathroom! T...more
The house is very comfortable, the garden extremely small, it's very close to other houses, the parking is limited for a . house that sleeps six. The kitchen is extremely well equipped. The weather was appalling at the beginning and we therefore spent more time in the house than we usually would have. It was lovely and warm.
We had a lovely week at Sea Bank with it's fantastic views and close proximity to beach which was brilliant for our dogs. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. The cottage was very clean and well equipped with comfortable beds. We shall be back next year hopefully.
We had a superb weekend in South Stoke, one of the loveliest hamlets in Sussex. Glorious walking, and the cottage was very clean and comfortable - thank you. Two points: it was rather tantalising to look at the open fire and not be able to light it. Just over the next few months, I would recommend that mid-week visitors in search of peace check how the building work is going next door. It was all beautifully quiet at the weekend, but work started on Monday morning and I was very glad we hadn't booked a mid-week stay.
Very comfortable and relaxing stay, very friendly and helpful owners. Really enjoyed our stay. Would recommend to friends.
Had a lovely weekend stay at this beautiful cottage close to the town. Very well equipped and newly renovated
Beautiful location with birdsong and walks from the front door. Comfortable sofa and warming wood stove too.
Nice character cottage. Good parking. Nice kitchen. Comfortable beds. Step hazard at foot of stairs needs better highlighting. Hot water far too hot. Whoever cleans the property really should move the lounge furniture when hoovering ... there was rubbish and grit under the settee. Low beams in places were difficult for our 6-foot member of party.
The boiler timer was an hour behind and we suspected that someone had been fiddling with the timing of the heating as it came on somewhat randomly. Apart from that, we enjoyed our stay at New Barn cottage.
The terraced cottage was welcoming and had a fantastic welcome basket when we arrived. The location was unique because it's in the heart of historical Rye. Just a few steps to the infamous Mermaid Inn and an array of beautiful buildings that will charm you. However we all had trouble with the door key and entering sometimes, we then realized you had to turn the metal ring with the key to enter, this was a little frustrating at times. There is no outside light so when you return at night you can't see to get in unless the neighbour has their outside light on, this is a necessity because the ste...more
The cottage is situated right next door to a children's adventure farm on a quiet lane, so in terms of location, it was just what we were seeking. The cottage had all mod cons and was aesthetically pleasing. However, we were dissatisfied with the comfort of the beds and also the place clearly had not been thoroughly cleaned in a while, as there were pet hairs and clumps of dust around the place and bits of rubbish under the beds. The property also would benefit from a decorative touch up. That said, the owners were very welcoming and helpful. We would recommend to others if the above...more
We loved the position of the cottage and the walk into Bosham. Places of interest within easy travelling distance.
Our stay was really lovely. It was very peaceful, and the perfect place to recharge the batteries. The scenery and walks were beyond beautiful, it brought so much contentment and happiness.
This is a nice property let down by poor maintenance. When we arrived one of the bedrooms was not made up and there was a mattress on the floor making it look very unsightly. The toilet flush in the downstairs bedroom was not working properly and the shower in this room was constantly dripping. The kitchen area needs some attention with a loose and delaminated door and some of the chairs in the lounge need cleaning. The owners were very nice and apologetic but we felt these problems should have been addressed prior to our arrival. I think this property could be top class but the owners need to...more
Modern house well equipped. Shame about the limited parking. In general house style suits only 2 adults and kids due to only one shower and small kitchen/dining area. Office/lounge extension was a plus.
With someone living below, we found it almost impossible to walk across the hard wood floor quietly. A carpet or large rug in the bedroom would have been very helpful. In the kitchen some basic items we have normally found in other properties were not available. A washing up bowl, hand-wash, small sharp knife for preparing dishes (the very large sharp kitchen knives were too clumsy) and a microwave. We were not sure whether the one towel in the kitchen was intended for drying dishes or drying hands..
The property was very clean and comfortable and in a good location. Parking was an issue though. The house is situated on a side road on a hill. Some of the neighbours put traffic cones outside their properties to stop others parking. Luckily, I have a small car and managed to squeeze into a space in the first day. There is "four hour" free parking opposite the property on the main road but it was impossible to find spaces. There is a car park at the bottom of the hill which charges £9.50 per day. I had my elderly mother with me and being able to park close to the property was importan...more
