We rented the week before xmas, great surpise and welcoming for our two kids, xmas tree and decorations, the kids thought santa had come early with all the toys available in the house. Excellent location within 10mins to the town centre, co-op around the corner for a 2min walk for anything you need. The house was very well presented, fully kitted kitchen with all utensils supplied that you need, including for kids. The owners Alex and Kate left us be, but were easy to contact by phone for any questions and very helpful in welcoming us to their property with regards to questions etc prior to ou...more
We had a very comfortable stay in this quirky, well-equipped cottage in the centre of town. Thank you
Fabulously furnished with great attention to detail and immaculately clean. The owners were great hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them.
Beautiful straw house in a beautiful surrounding. Our dog loved it walks are amazing. Spent Christmas week here would highly recommended it. The owners are lovely very helpfully. It is a working farm and if you ask the owners you can look around the farm. Would love to visit. Again.
We had a delightful 4-night stay at Daisy Byre. Very comfortable cottage, clean and modern, with everything you need for an enjoyable, relaxing break. We received a very warm welcome from the owners and were made to feel at home right from the start. Lovely hospitality by all, including the staff working on the adjacent farm. The complimentary passes to the farm were a bonus (as was a delightful evening in the theatre located on the farm watching a production of 'The Wind in the Willows'). A thoroughly enjoyable stay. The village of Wisborough Green and the surrounding West Sussex area has ...more
Everything about the Oast is perfect. It looked good online but that expectation was surpassed on arrival. Warm, comfortable and homely - all done with some aplomb to an extremely high spec. A delicious corner of Sussex - we’ll be back!
I book through Amberley House Cottages a lot and have stayed in some lovely places but this was by far the best. The views from the house are stunning and it's in a great location surrounded by beautiful countryside but also very close to amenities in Lindfield and Haywards Heath.. The house is equipped to a very high standard and is really comfortable. Tony is a great host. I would thoroughly recommend
Lovely barn, well equipped with great scenery. We had a great time and think it will be a great place to return to in winter. Everything was modern throughout and the layout has been carefully thought out. Only small things to note: soap dispenser in bathroom was empty, main shower doesn't drain well (had to remove drain cover to get the water to drain) and previous occupants, half used, left over food was in the cupboard.
Warm welcome on arrival with fresh homemade cakes on the table in the kitchen. The owners and staff were very kind and helpful throughout my stay. Plenty to do and see and well located for visits out. I definitely want to go back it’s such a good place to be. Many thanks to Mandy persuading me to see the animals even though I had my dog with me, just loved it. Thank you everyone.
The owner was very pleasant and helpful, we found the accommodation very comfortable and had everything we needed and also exceptionally clean. It is in a good location and there are plenty of Places of Interest nearby to visit.
Perfect accommodation in a perfect location. The accommodation was a perfect base for sightseeing in the area. We visited Battle Abbey,Herstmonceux Castle,Eastbourne,Bexhill and Middle Farm. The owner was very welcoming. The visitor's book was a testament to the accommodation and the owner with the numbers of people making returned visits.
We cannot recommend this place enough. Brilliant accomodation, thoughtful touches & friendly owner .
We picked Dairy Cottage in Burley for location and advertised info .on website. We found the cottage to be very clean and well looked after. The owners were very welcoming and happy to give any help we needed about the area.
The cottage we stayed in was just as it was advertised, it was very well equiped, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The hosts were very attentive with just the right level of contact while we were staying there, the location is very good, just a few minuets from the shops and beaches, The cream tea on arrival is a very nice touch. If we travel in that area again we would definitely stay there again.
The Reading Rooms was very well equipped with excellent attention to cleanliness. The owners have respectfully kept the buildings charm with touches linking to it's past. A peaceful village location with a local shop. post office, a good cafe and two pubs. There are fantastic walks on the doorstep around Wisborough Green with other villages, towns within short driving distance for shopping and visits. We would certainly stay again and would not hesitate recommending to friends and family.
beautyfull cottage, friendly landlords, lovely garden, infact: the garden of Eden!!! the village is very pretty.
An amazing place with incredible hosts. The location was ideal for us for the festival of speed but also to explore the local area. The Barn has been renovated with incredible attention to detail and no expense spared. A real home away from home. Charlotte and James were excellent hosts besides being a lovely couple who went above and beyond in an hour of need! We really enjoyed our stay and would strongly recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful escape in a lovely setting.
A superb and homely cottage in beautiful Arundel. The cottage was extremely well equipped and clean with everything we needed for our stay. We will be back!
We had a wonderful stay at Pump House Lodge. The hosts delight in making you feel comfortable but are not at all invasive. Care is evident in every detail of the house. It's comfortable, tasteful and well equipped. For many renting out accommodation is about making money but these people truly delight in being hospitable. Thanks for everything.
We were warmly welcomed by Ann and her husband. They had explained everything we needed to know about the cottage and made sure we would feel comfortable. The fridge was, to our surprise, filled with lovely groceries!!! We will certainly be back for another visit to the cottage and the country, we have had a wonderful weekstay!
The view and hospitality were outstanding. Super relaxing place to stay. Comfy bed. I hadn’t noticed that there was no cooker at The Cow Hide when booking, totally my fault, but Caroline booked us in to the George. Great fish and chips.
Was lovely relaxing quiet property set in a great location with easy access to the beautiful New forest, and also close to the lovely town of Lymington. Great pub(East End Arms) nearby and very friendly owners who just let you just enjoy their lovely cottage. Will be back.
Great little property that was not very little. Whilst only set up for two, with just the one bedroom, there was plenty of room for us and it felt almost spacious. Very tastefully fitted out with decent quality furniture and an excellent bed. Pippa was a delightful host and made us very welcome. Location good in a lovely part of the country. We had a great week.
Extremely impressed with Down Under - a 'hut' with an interesting history that has been refurbished to a very high standard, no corners cut from what I could tell. It made a perfect base for a long weekend in Sussex for an annual friends reunion being close enough to my old village but also to some relaxing walks on the Downs and a Sunday afternoon in Brighton, just 20 mins drive. Whilst Down Under is pretty close to the main buildings for the farmland it is sited on it is not overlooked and has its own private drive and uninterrupted views of the Downs. There were several excellent local ...more
Very nice cottage in very quiet hamlet with almost no traffic: ambient birdsong a splendid feature. Excellent facilities and particularly pleasant and spacious sitting /dining/kitchen area opening onto patio. Very helpful owners, supplies in fridge on arrival. Good walking from the cottage. Suited us (retired couple) very well.
This was our second stay at Bay Tree Cottage. It is in a quiet location on the outskirts of busy Storrington where you´ll find everything you need. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. Everything is of high quality and there are some nice little extra touches. The owner Shona is very welcoming and hospitable and she cooks a delicious meal if you wish to. You could also use the beautiful garden. Bay Tree Cottage is a perfect spot to explore everything the surrounding area has to offer.
Little Willow was ideally situated for exploring Rye. It is convenient, comfortable and quiet. We hope to return sometime.
What a lovely quiet, well equiped, comfortable cottage, spotless. Milk, tea and coffee waiting for us gratefuly received. We settled into the cottage quickly as if it was our own. The owners were helpful but not intrusive, even letting us plug in our highbrid car and use the hose pipe to clean the car. The garden was abundant with wild live including deer spotted in the wee hours.
A very comfortable and spotlessly clean property. We would recommend it and use again when we revisit the area.
A first time visit to this delightful little cottage in a beautiful part of West Sussex. The cottage was very warm and welcoming when we arrived on a cold December day. The owner had dressed the cottage with a Christmas tree and a few decorations including a holly wreath on the door and we immediately felt happy to be in such a special little cottage. The cottage was very clean and very well equipped with everything we needed to enjoy our Christmas break in comfort. The owner had provided extra goodies which we really appreciated. The location of the cottage is excellent being just a 10 m...more
We enjoyed a week in Marine House despite "unseasonable" weather. Our age span of some decades was catered for in a very well equipped house with a secure garden for the children and very close proximity to the beach. Nothing seemed too much trouble to help provide a child-friendly environment - for which we were most grateful. The house is spacious, clean and well laid out. The large kitchen area right next to the garden is perfect for families. The upstairs, cosy living area provides a space for adults to gather and have a quiet coffee or as a quiet place for tired children - thanks ...more
Not only is Owl Cottage very tastefully decorated and furnished, and comfortable, but is equipped to a very high standard. It has everything one could wish for and more. There are many unexpected extras, including provisions, which show how much thought has been given by the owner. The garden and sitting-out area are small but perfectly adequate and very attractive. We would rate it as excellent. Amberley is beautiful, quiet, and has a good shop, a super pub and a pottery selling lovely work at a resonable price. There are some pleasnt walks from the cottage. Overall an excellent place ...more
We would really recommend this stunning property. Very comfortable and in a lovely area too. Lots to see and do but the veranda is perfect for just relaxing as well. No traffic noise, just birdsong and rural views. A superking sized bed would have added to the very high standards but this is the only thing we would have changed in Little Barn.
The Old Surgery was absolutely perfect for our stay. It was a great size for the two of us and was peaceful even during morning traffic. The hosts were incredible, offering us umbrellas when it rained and great conversation in the garden. Next time we visit we will be staying there again!
Made to feel very welcome with an amazing welcome hamper! The accommodation is stunning in beautiful surroundings, we had a great stay!
My wife and I enjoyed a superb week at The Brambles. The property is comfortable, spacious and well provisioned, and the garden is a delight with wildlife in abundance. It is excellently situated for easy access to Chichester, Arundel and the coast, plus a range of walks, fine houses and gardens, and there a number of local shops, restaurants and pubs. The owners live in the adjoining property which is excellent as they are available and very willing to help as necessary, but are at the same time highly respectful of their guests' privacy. And, as a bonus, they are really nice people! ...more
Very stylish house, great interior, design bathrooms, very clean and in a superb location right across the Arundel castle site.
A very well equiped apartment which was comfortable and clean. Well positioned for seafront and shops. A wide range of resteraunts to suit all tastes within easy walking distance. Parking was ok but could be a little aukward at busy times like the airshow. A very considerate welcome pack on arrival along with a very useful personal greeting. Overall a great stay in an apartment that I would recommend.
We stayed in this cottage with my mother who is 103 and nothing was too much trouble, owners went out of their way to be friendly and very helpful which was wonderful, the property itself was wonderful and just what we were looking for with a bedroom downstairs which is en suite and ideal for elderly our bedroom upstairs was first class, all facilities one would wish for and a lovely garden to enjoy, cannot commend it enough!
Brooke’s Cottage is excellent in every way, for everyone, but especially for walkers and dog-owners. The view from there is outstanding.
Buttercup and Daisy are lovely compact holiday studios ideal for a couple or single person stay. We found the property to be in good order, clean and equipped, although crockery is at the minimum (2 mugs, 2 wine glasses etc..). The layout of the studio works well and the bed was really comfy. Parking at Buttercup is a bit fiddly to get your car through the gate into the allocated space/reverse out. The best feature of this property is its location - a 20-25 minute walk into Rye or a 10 minute drive. Rye itself is a beautiful town with many lovely features. Rye Harbour reserve, Dungerne...more
This apartment was great for 2 people. Plenty of space and good facilities. It was nice to have your own car parking space.
An excellent week's holiday! A first-class cottage: attractively decorated with good-quality fittings etc. and beautifully cared-for; we thought it would make a wonderful place to live. The main cooker is an AGA which, having never used one before, was a novel experience (there's also an electric hob for the less adventurous). There are some nice walks in the woods and countryside around Lickfold, with OS maps available in cottage. There' s also a good selection of what's-on leaflets for the local area and a shelf full of books (novels, wildlife guides and Sussex local history). We visited Upp...more

Good place, ideal location for a peaceful relaxing holiday. Walks on the doorstep, coast and gardens nearby. Friendly hosts.
Bit late with this review but my husband and I along with our Cockerpoo had an absolutely lovely 4 night break over the Easter weekend in April. The cottage is delightful and was a perfect base for us & the pooch. Lots of local pubs serving great food and dog friendly and if you don’t want to do too much driving there are lovely walks to do or a local bus to Brighton which is what we did on one of the days. Lucia the owner is super friendly and the welcome collection of groceries awaiting us on arrival was a lovely touch. Loved it !!!
We had a lovely week, the cottage was lovely, the kitchen well fitted and the welcome pack very well received. Hilary was very welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday
An excellent base, roomy and well laid out. An ideal spot for walking, cycling and chilling out. Road access to Maidstone or south to the coast is good and generally trouble-free. Headcorn the next small village is quaint and worth visiting for shopping and eating.
On arriving I was shocked, I knew the house would be beautiful but it was far beyond my expectations! We had fabulous weather so spent alot of time in the charming pool. The gardens are gorgeous with speaking hills for miles and the house interia is full of amazing art. The perfect house for a large group with lovely kitchen and lots of compfy nooks to relax in. Could not have enjoyed our stay more, would love to come back! X
Tarante had everything we want from short-break self-catering accommodation; it was clean and comfy, quiet and cosy. Perhaps more importantly it was within easy walking distance of the town centre with its great bars and restaurants, and had parking. The owner was friendly and helpful (the milk was a nice touch, so we could have a much-needed cup of tea on arrival) and every detail seemed to have been thought of in the accommodation. The garden was available to us and it was nice to have an early morning coffee in the sunshine on the decking. Highly recommended.
The Poolhouse was a lovely property, ideally situated centrally in Petworth. It contained everything that we required, fulfilling all our needs including those of a 92 year old who is partially disabled. The pool area is lovely and the heated pool a real bonus despite the disappointing June weather. We would certainly recommend this property to anyone visiting this beautiful area.
In the years of booking holiday cottages, this was the first time, that both owner and agency went beyond the call of duty to accommodate a last minute request. An exemplary service which only made our stay more memorable, as it had simply not lost its human touch. I would highly recommend Amberley and 76 The Mint. Perfect spot to unwind and enjoy all that Rye has to offer on your doorstop. Beds and linen are superior for a holiday let, leaving you feeling very comfortable indeed. Much appreciated.
The cottage was lovely, big enough for us and our three children. It was spotlessly clean and the kitchen was really well stocked, all the home comforts you need on a self catering holiday. It was a real home away from home, we had a brilliant time and hopefully will be back next year!
We had a lovely holiday staying at Oak Grove. The accommodation was excellent and larger than it looks on the photos online. Everything had been thought of - there was washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and washing machine detergent all provided. There are many interesting walks from the house and good nearby places to eat. We particularly liked the Red Lion pub. The owner even posted on free of charge some items that we accidentally left at the property, which is really appreciated. Thanks.
Perfect spot for a short visit to family in nearby Seaford and nearby country walks. A beautiful area and super quiet and peaceful. If the have to work, the WI-FI was fast and reliable as well.
Spotlessly clean, very nicely appointed cottage. We felt comfortable and at home as soon as we arrived. We had 2 lovely meals at the local pub, a 10-15 minute walk away, we also had a meal in Arundel which was a 5 minute drive and plenty of eateries to choose from. Lots to see and do locally, beach at Littlehampton was great for paddling and sandy, seemed suitable for families. We found Goring by Sea (west of Worthing) quieter but that was a shingle beach, but you could walk for miles, and parking along the adjacent road was free and plentiful! The Sea View beach cafe was very popular and de...more
The cottage and its surroundings are beautiful. The owners could not have been more helpful and friendly. The purpose of our stay was to attend the Windsor Workshop, which was just a short walk away along footpaths.
Swan Cottage is a great location for the sights of Arundel and the surrounding district and only a short pleasant walk into the town in the evening to visiting the variety of eateries and watering holes. The cottage was a warm retreat from the not so clement weather and was amply supplied with home appliances and the comforts of home for cosy nights in. The beds were incredibly comfortable and cosy.
Lambles was an ideal situation for exploring this area of the South Downs and the coast. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. Everything was extremely well organized: all household requisites were easily to hand; all electrical equipment was easy to use with very clear instructions for usage. There was an extensive and helpful array of information about the area. The beautiful garden is a special feature, with a private patio area for guests of Lambles to appreciate it. Thanks are due to the owners for the care and thoughtfulness with which this property has been created.
A lovely, clean and comfortable cottage in an ideal location. This was our fourth visit to this cottage. Handy for the shops and coast. A couple of breakfast bar stools would be an added benefit. A working light at the front door is required.
We had a nice time here - we came for a family event in the area. The owner and the farmers were very friendly. The place is well equipped, quiet and nicely furnished. Dishwasher, full sized oven, microwave, couple of TVs and fridge. Internet access worked fine too. Two bathrooms (one a shower room and one with a proper bath) very useful for two people and two kids. We walked a few footpaths and visited the Queen's Head (recommended but not that cheap) in West Chiltington. You can easily walk there on public footpaths and bridleways (takes 45 mins) avoiding the road - for route look for...more
A good location with access on foot to the city of Chichester if you're feeling fit (via the canal path) or via paths and lanes to Pagham Harbour. A small, peaceful garden was pleasant to relax in on the long evenings after summer days out in the sunshine (one evening a lone deer strolled by the cottage and had a leisurely graze). It was fairly quick to get to several places of local interest such as the Roman mosaics, Bosham, the South Downs beyond the city and of course Chichester itself which is great for a day out once you've successfully negotiated the busy ring road. The cottage owners a...more

This is a really comfortable and homely cottage to stay in. It is within easy walking distance of the town.
Had a fantastic long weekend. Beautiful location with the countryside and amazing walks right on your doorstep. Ideal for those with dogs.
Quiet restful holiday break in very pleasant surroundings. Excellent accommodation. Warm welcome from Mrs Wiseman set the tone for the holiday.
Our family enjoyed staying in The Old Granary with its remarkably high standard of facilities and plenty of space.
We had a wonderful stay at Mallards. Paula and Dave were good hosts and really friendly. The house is a lovely annex with everything you need. The location is good too. The area is beautiful, with wonderful walks all about. We certainly want to come back again!
This was my third stay at Priors Barn and I have already booked my fourth which says it all. So quiet and peaceful yet close to main roads making it easy to get around. Particularly delightful was the Robin redbreast who was in and out of the barn all day helping himself to my dog’s food and water and Oscar didn’t mind! We also saw several deer as we were on our morning walks which was a treat. Kip, Jan and the neighbours were all brilliant following my mishap with the key - thank you all.
Lovely light and airy house. Comfy beds, comfy sitting room, great garden and all very clean. Ticked all our boxes. The owners were so helpful. We asked them to mow the lawn before we went as our Pekingese can't manage long grass and they did. I asked also if they happened to have a summer duvet as I have a skin condition and find usual duvets way too hot. They provided me with a brand new one, wonderful! These two requests made so much difference to our holiday, can't thank them enough. Lovely area lots to see. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again if we holiday in Sussex anoth...more

Both my partner and I thought that the apartment was wonderful. We both enjoyed staying there. It is very well laid out.
An excellent week at this lovely cottage. We used it as a base whilst walking the South Downs Way.Very peaceful and quiet and the owners were extremely helpful.
We chose Fig Tree Cottage for a peaceful long weekend break with our dog. The property was lovely with all the amenities you could need. Very well equipped kitchen with all the basics you need i.e. tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper, kitchen paper, clingfilm, foil, washing up liquid, cleaning sponges. Bathrooms all had Moulton Brown bathroom products which were a welcome bonus. There is a very short walk to a local shop and three pubs. There is a large green within walking distance to walk your dog. Everyone we came across in the village was very friendly and welcoming. We would highly...more
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage and the owners are superb hosts and very accommodating. The peace and quietness of the surrounding area are amazing and there is so much to do and explore at close proximity to the cottage.
We spent two weeks at Selden Black. The studio was very well equipped with everything you might need. Owners were very lovely and helpful and on hand if you have any problems. We had a lovely time!
My husband and I were very happy with our stay at Calceto. Our hosts were friendly and helpful and recommended some good local restaurants and pubs. The apartment was very comfortable, clean, quiet and well-equipped. It is also conveniently located, a short walk from Arundel station and just a 5 minute walk from the centre of Arundel, which made it easy for us to explore the town. There are also some nice walks close by along the River Arun.
Wonderful cottage that sleeps 10 comfortably with lots of space inside and out for a family occasion.
Second visit to this location and enjoyed our stay just as much. The location is good for us visiting relatives in Bognor Regis, as well as a base for wider travel to e.g. Portsmouth, Brighton. Chichester station is a short drive and offers ample parking for a reasonable daily rate. The accommodation is clean, spacious and very quiet. All the facilities are in good working order and there is plenty of crockery and utensils. It is next to a working arable farm but we've never encountered any very early or late goings on. If I had one criticism it's that the blinds in the master bedroom offer l...more
The renovated garage has been converted to a very high standard. The well supplied kitchen was really well thought out and easy to cook in, although there were many good places to eat nearby, so we didn’t do a lot of cooking. The bedroom in the eaves was very nice and we woke to a beautiful view across the countryside. The shower was really nice and the living space was well laid out. The hosts made us feel very welcome and invited us to use their garden which was absolutely beautiful! For a secluded village setting Which was very peaceful, there is still a decent sized coop within wa...more
Absolutely lovely house, spacious and great decor. So close to the beach. Only criticism was that the glass door to the balcony in the twin room could've done with a bind/curtain - the children woke up so early - less daylight might have helped!
Very nice cottage on a beautiful place. Lots to do, to see and to visit within a half hour drive. We Made a very nice countrywalk wich starter in the garden of the cottage. We enjoyed it very much and appriciated the warm welcome of the owners.
We have stayed in many holiday cottages over the years and I think this is the best equipped cottage we have been in. The Granary is in a lovely country setting overlooking fields but only a 5 minute walk up the lane to the village where there are a couple of shops, tea rooms and 2 pubs. It has been beautifully renovated, it's spacious, very clean and extremely well equipped. The modern bathrooms are nice and big and the beds very comfortable. The kitchen has a good supply of pots, pans and utensils. The balcony is really good for relaxing and eating outdoors and watching the rabbits playing in...more
Our stay at Hayreed was all too brief. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the cottage was delightful, the welcome pack was delicious. Our hosts were very welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed. The location was special, we were delighted by the bird song. Sitting in the little side garden with a morning cuppa, what a way to start a day. Thank you .
Comfortable cottage, well equipped, and ideally placed for visiting Arundel and surrounding attractions. Interesting building, lovely garden - unable to take advantage of that owing to cold weather, but I can see it would be a huge bonus in hot weather. Some outside noise from traffic, but offset by the advantage of having the co-op, fish and chip shop and cash point all so handy. Would certainly stay here again if visiting Sussex.
Brilliant stay at Regency House. Lots of character and comfort in a great location! Great space easily catering to a large group. A little worried about parking but we all found a space just outside. Definitely recommend!
We thoroughly enjoyed our extended stay at the Nest, a perfect location for exploring Hastings Country Park with our dog, Bailey - just a few minutes walk from the front door! The Nest is very clean, comfortable and well equipped with everything you need to cook, entertain and relax! The owners, Sherry and Colin were very friendly and helpful. We hope to return next year!
The welcome could not have been more pleasant than the one we received. The Welcome pack was beyond excellent it was superb. The location, outdoor space was also outstanding. As a footnote I would be thinking of renewing all the carpets as although they were clean you can see where the stains have been and they haven't worn evenly so it attracts your attention. Secondly and more important are the mattress on the beds these have come to the end of their useful life and in our opinion they should be replaced with slightly better quality at the end of the season when general maintenance of th...more

Little Lock Cottage was exceptionally clean and well equipped, lovely surroundings and perfect owners.
We stayed fro 5 weeks in the house and had a lovely stay. It was clean and comfortable and everything worked well. Each week it was very well cleaned by friendly Chris who was most helpful and friendly. Its in a good position to enjoy the town and castle and also the surrounding area, where there are many lovely historic towns and lovely countryside.
Excellent venue and conditions for a quiet and peaceful getaway - we could have stayed a lot longer had circumstances allowed
Took my elderly parents for a few days. They loved it. Nice and bright cottage. Very well equipped. Comfortable beds and everywhere very clean. Host was lovely and made sure we had everything. Location great for visiting places. Only 10 min drive to the seafront. Would definitely recommend.
Cottage is compact but comfortable, clean & cosy.Location is good, nice walk into Arundel, five stars☆
A lovely family house in an excellent location, all the main rooms had views down to the fields where we enjoyed watching the sheep and lambs. The garden was large enough for both our dogs to have a good run and the grandson to practice his football. Enjoyable walks through the adjoining woods. There was plenty of room and seating to accommodate our extended family who visited us our during both days of our stay. We used the AGA which was satisfactory once we worked out how to turn it on properly, but I would suggest that if future visitors intend to use it that they get full instructions fro...more

Sea Pinks is a charming old cottage that has been tastefully decorated and furnished and with prety gardens in the front and back. The quiet shingle beach with its RNLI lifeboat station and fishing boats is just a 5 minute walk away; and Selsey village is 5 minutes by car. Between the cottage and beach is a pub/diner that serves marvellous fish and chips as part of its extensive menu. This cottage is in the perfect location, footpaths straight from the door across lovely farmland. Wildlife abundance, I.e. barn owl, deer and Fox. The cottage is reasonably well equipped but a basin would have been good.! Lots to do in the area, or just sit and relax with a glass of wine - perfect.
This is a very high-quality nice bungalow with a lovely garden. Everything you would need for a nice holiday is provided with great attention to details. Lovely decor and quality linens are to be admired. The bathrooms are good and the shower power is excellent. Such nice welcoming hosts who have clearly put a lot of thought into letting this property so that other people can enjoy the fruits of their labour. We had a good time despite the things mentioned below. Parking space is very tight unless you have a small car. It would be difficult to park a long estate or large 4x4. ...more

Characterful cottage with easy walk into Chichester. Lots of nice touches - fresh flowers in all the rooms, welcome wine etc. Top quality fittings and bedding etc. Would highly recommend.
We enjoyed a wonderful week in this superb stable conversion which is in a lovely peaceful location. It was spotlessly clean, comfortable and the underfloor heating is excellent. Good shower and very comfy bed. This is a very dog-friendly property with a really secure garden. We walked miles from the door in the beautiful countryside of the South Downs, also Arundel and Petworth are worth a visit.
We had a lovely time at this neat and tidy cottage. We had everything we needed - and more - and the house is great for a family of 5 like us. Perfect location, we hope to be back!
A delightful homely cottage, clean, light and spacious and very well equipped. Would highly recommend this cottage which is ideally situated in the beautiful South Downs.
The cottage is embedded in pure nature of the South Downs. We could observe deer, rabbits and other animals from the sleeping room‘s window. Claire is a very charming, kind and very helpful host. Ask her for good restaurants advice in the area!
We had a lovely time at Daisy, accomodation was very comfortable. The courtyard was a sun trap, it was nice to sit and have an early morning tea or a glass of wine in the evening. Rye is a lovely town with a lot going on, some good pubs and restaurants, the propoerty is very well situated with easy acces to Kent and Sussex, very close to Great Dixter and Dungeness both worth a visit.
The owners were excellent at responding to queries whilst there. The cottage was comfortable and homely and well equipped for a family stay. We were well positioned for a variety of day trips to keep the children entertained.
We all enjoyed our stay at River cottage the location was excellent to visit several National Trust gardens , it was also a very peaceful location with no passing traffic, the added bonus was the short walk to the river which was a wildlife haven we saw barn owls on several occasions flying early evening and late morning , two badgers and deer. The walk along the river was wonderful all you could see were meadows and the South Downs we would definitely return as the property had a nice atmosphere and was light and airy.
Nice cottage with good facilities and useful supply of food items on arrival. Suited us well (retired couple) - quiet, minor road noise sometimes (not night), sitting out area and encouraged to use garden by owner. Many pleasant walks from cottage door around the footpaths of Henfield. We enjoyed ourselves!
A very comfortable barn conversion in an excellent location for visiting places of interest around the Sussex Coast and South Downs
We had a brilliant time, some of our family stayed at the farm B&B also. The cottage was very well equipped with everything we could want. Our hosts were great. Lovely woodland walks, bluebells were amazing, great to be on a real working farm. We would definitely stay there again, as would most other members of the get-together. Thank you to Bob & Liz for the wonderful lamb roast family barbecue.
We often self cater in holiday homes like this. Echo House was wonderfully equipped, great for families who want a home from home. It was really comfortable, with a pretty garden. We were able to entertain family who live nearby with a bbq under the delightful pergola. Lots of space to park cars out front. Well situated for beautiful walks across Pulborough Brooks, easy drives to the coast, Arundel, Chicester... We would love to stay here again.
Lovely cottage used to explore the South Downs. Very well equipped with good standard of furnishings. Nice size for a family of 4.
This is our second time holidaying there and it was just as good as before, I've already booked for next year, it has everything you need to have a great holiday, fabulous location, comfy beds, loads of space and very dog friendly
We thoroughly enjoyed our few days at this lovely small house. The proprietor, Julian, went the extra mile to help us with a couple of small problems - many thanks again, Julian
We had a great week and wonderful weather whilst staying in this comfortable and welcoming cottage. We were a party of 4 adults plus our dog and there was plenty of space for all. The garden is spacious but on our visit was a little overgrown and in need of some tlc to make the most of its potential. The cottage itself is in an ideal location for walks straight from the doorstep onto the South Downs. There are so many places to visit within a short distance that we couldnt fit them all in. All in all we had an excellent week.
This cottage is in a quiet location within walking distance of Arundel town centre. It is has everything you need and is nicely furnished, comfortable bed including the one in the annexe which is a proper single bed (not a chair bed as in the details) Courtyard garden which gets the morning sun. Perfect for a relaxing break away from it all. Arundel has some good individual restaurants, cafes, shops including antique shops and of course the castle and cathedral and plenty of green space with the coast 20 minutes drive away.
Lionel met us on arrival, told us what we needed to know and then left us to it. Perfect. The cottage is lovely and was really clean. There's plenty to do near by. We had a great time and would like to go back.
We had a pleasant stay in autumn, there are lots of places to visit in the area. We visited small villages en beautiful gardens. Saw some castles. Enjoyed it very much. There were lots of goodies when we arrived, delicious. Cooking on the Aga was new for us, but it worked very well. Bathrooms were well equipped, beds very good.
Have just had a wonderful week here. The place was a snug retreat for us while we visited family and friends. Julian and Joanne were very helpful - even gave us the opportunity to view the movement of a swarm of bees, which was utterly fascinating. Facilities were excellent and the place was very well laid out. We'll be coming back.
Excellent welcome package waiting for us in this beautifully presented stylish cottage. Everything one might need during a stay was provided. It exceeded our expectations. On the night we returned to find that the water was off, because of a burst water main locally, Beth appeared at our door with emergency supplies of bottled water.
We had a very pleasant stay in this flat overlooking the church and Petworth House. The location is very convenient for the shops and restaurants in Petworth and for exploring further afield. The owner made us feel very welcome and left us treats and ideas of places to visit. The flat was extremely comfortable, the only drawback is the lack of a parking space.
A comfortable stay and met our needs .We were made to feel very welcome. Comfortable and clean bed ensured we had a good night's sleep
We chose this cottage to stay in for Goodwood Festival of Speed. The cottage is a lot bigger than we expected and was spotless, clean and tidy. Everything we needed was supplied, nothing at all we could fault. The location is quiet and peaceful. Just an amazing place to stay. The only criticism I would have is that it didn't mention it is at the side of a railway track and the trains are every 10 mins, but as we were out most of the time, it didn't bother us, but may bother people who would be hoping for a silent stay. Would highly recommend the cottage to anyone and won't hesitate using it ag...more
WE HAD A LOVELY STAY AT IVY COTTAGE WHICH HAS EVERYTHING YOU NEED FOR A COMFORTABLE STAY. SUSAN WAS VERY HELPFUL AND ON HAND PROMPTLY TO DEAL WITH ANY ISSUES,
This was our second stay at Apple barn. The barn is spacious, clean and very welcoming. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. It is equipped with everything to make your stay enjoyable. Although in a rural location it is not far from the towns of Arundel and Chichester. Our hosts, Becky and Simon are only too pleased to be of help. Thank you very much for the food gifts, which were much appreciated. We look forward to visiting again in the future!
The house is full of charm and feels like the residents have just gone out for a stroll because it's full of art, books and music. Kitchen is well-stocked for cooking and baking, and the barbeque set made a welcome change from the Aga. Beautiful location and lush garden allowed plenty of space to stretch out and relex without getting in each other's space. The second bathroom could benefit from some modernising but the seasonal spiders didn't seem to mind! Must have a car to overcome its relative remoteness. In short, a lovely location that feels like a home, not an anonymous modern box.
Good cottage for group of six women- all single beds and relaxing lounge area next to kitchen. A few maintenance niggles but nothing especially worrying so would stay again.
Excellent short stay accommodation, very hospitable friendly accommodating owners. Easy access to the property and well suited for travellers to the Sussex downs and the cities of Chichester and Guildford. Unpretentious but unique property of good value.
A beautiful setting for a relaxing break. Just a ten minute walk to Arundel and all essential amenities. Excellent for trains just 2 minutes away if you want a holiday without the car. Pleased to hear from the owner that the absence of smoke alarms was going to be addressed a.s.a.p as this was an initial concern to me but a maintenance man called whilst we were at the property.
The cottage is very small, but for two persons o.k..The furniture should be renewed. The Garden is very nice. The owners were very friendly and helpful. They gave many suggestions.
Had a great second stay at Harbinger, such a special place. We love the huge light and airy living space with comfy seating and views out over the garden and countryside. The owners (who live next door) are very friendly and helpful. The location feels very rural but is very convenient for Chichester, Arundel and exploring the coast and Sussex Downs. We will hopefully be returning soon!
Saga heats up the kitchen, not a nice place to have breakfast in summer. Car park in the street. Owner of house behind cottage parked his car just in front of our entrance.
The cottage was well located with a modern garden room backing onto a small pretty garden. The four drawbacks were as follows: -Lack of on site car parking with only limited nearby parking in the village. -The doorways to the bedrooms and bathrooms were particularly low meaning someone of average height say5 ft 9 ins tends to bang their head badly. Some foam on the beam lintels would help. -The cleanliness was disappointing with everything being particularly dusty coupled with sticky surfaces. The Vax vacuum cleaner did not work. -The furniture in the lounge was most uncomfortable.
So peaceful, lovely setting One minute walk to lovely pub, sofa bed not the most comfortable but would be ideal for kids
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Fisher Dairy. The conversion has been done very well with care and consideration being evident.
Lovely llttle apartment, very clean and cosy. Really enjoyed our 8 days stay here. Location is great, pubs, restaurants and shops all within walking distance. We only recommand a guideline for turning on the heating and also on how to turn off the smokedetector, as it turned out te be very sensitive.
Large flat for two people. Close to old town up a hill . Old town has interesting shops and lots of eating places. Free parking up hill but beware of first few yards that have double yellow lines - cars parking either over or behind these lines getting daily fines. Train to Bexhill-on-Sea for a day trip - cheaper and easier than moving car
Excellent property, everything works, comfortable and quirky. It being winter we could not really take advantage of the outside space. Would hope to return in warmer weather to take enjoy long leisurely bbq's. Would recommend for family gatherings.
A lovely little victorian house with contemporary decor. The location was excellent, and the property had everything we needed and a lovely welcome pack of goodies from the owners, along with lots of information on local attractions and places to eat. I will recommend this property to friends and family wanting to stay in the area.
Very disappointed with this property located in a family compound where guests needs were very much secondary. Heating not on when we arrived and none in the bathroom at first until we asked the owner to check and it was adjusted but this should have been done beforehand. There were no instructions on how to regulate the temperature. Mattress was well past its due date to be changed. Insufficient noise barrier between property and adjacent garage and pool area where children played very noisily. Informed that someone left for work at 5.15 every morning and started car in garage ri...more
The cottage was clean, modern & mostly comfortable. Poor lighting in the living area especially nighttime. Bed in the main bedroom was so close to the floor difficult to get in & out of. If an elderly person had been staying they would have found it awkward. Needs new mattress. We felt the kitchen needed more equipment...cups, mugs, cutlery. If there had been more of us staying we would have run out of things after every meal. Good spot for visiting Lewes, coast, NT properties, Charleston & Monks House. There was road noise but as we had a fan going at night....it was warm...we didn't real...more
We enjoyed our stay at this lovely property, which had everything we needed for a relaxing family holiday and more. However, when we arrived the beds had been slept in, and there were dirty towels on the floor. There had been some miscommunication between the agency and the housekeeper. This was sorted out, and we left them to it, but when we returned, we found that they had binned all our own stuff, including our beer, wine, (in the fridge) and even some children's clothes, which had been left to soak prior to washing!! The beer and wine were replaced when we asked, but the clothes had been p...more
We had a wonderful stay at the cottage for our daughters wedding at Slaugham Place. It was in the perfect location and was the perfect layout and size for our purpose. We entertained some wedding guests from the hotel and had enough room for all the bridesmaids and bride to get ready. Unfortunately there are a few issues that marred our stay. The bathroom and ensuite were in a very poor state, with cracked and mismatched tiles and black mound around the grout and edges of the shower tray and bath. The shower controls come away from the unit and are extremely difficult to use. Both bathrooms ar...more
We stayed at Oak House over the Easter weekend, it was perfect. Oak House is a gorgeous house and perfect for our family gathering. We were welcomed by a basket of goodies which was lovely. Great location for exploring Rye town and the surrounding areas. We cycled down to Camber Sands and Rye harbour with the kids. Will visit again. Thank you John
Rosings is ideally situated for walking from your doorstep in all 4 directions to explore the Arun valley , river and the South Downs. The cottage is well equipped, The small double bed was a bit narrow, being a three-quarter bed.The heating worked perfectly. The one bathroom, which had all mod cons might give problems if you are six in the cottage. We, 2 couples, enjoyed our stay very much. We can recommend a Sunday outing to Chichester with the bootsale market, lunch at the iTALIAN RESTAURANT AND Evensong at the Cathedral. A walk as indicated in the leaflet " Arundel" and a walk via Nor...more
My second time in Whippingham. I have friends and relatives on IOW and the Creek is a great base from which to see them all and to have peaceful solitude when needed. It is well placed for ferry access, Newport shops , Osborne etc.
Stunning location and gardens. The house is very well placed for lovely walks and a great pub just a short wonder away serving lovely food and great atmosphere. Sadly the seating in the sitting room is extremely uncomfortable. Whilst they look very good and in keeping with the furnishing in the house unfortunately they are not really designed for sitting and relaxing on. The fridge door was broken which resulted in not being able to stand milk or other bottles. We would definitely return if alternative seating was sourced.
We had a 4 night break with friends (and the dog). We were all delighted with the standard of the cottage which is very well equipped and in an excellent location for visiting the local area.
We were an adult party of five (three generations of one family, plus dog). We stayed for most of a week and used the property as a base for beach walks and visits to sites such as Bodiam Castle, Rye Harbour and the Kent & East Sussex Steam Railway. On arrival there was a lovely cake, cookies and local apple juice waiting for us which was a nice touch, and more than made up for the fact the previous visitors had used all the nespresso capsules! It is very close to the beach (if you don’t mind a scramble over the dunes just 5 mins) and the Owl pub. Parking is challenging as the spac...more
A lovely house by the sea with garden and open fireplace. Very light and comfortable. Great for quiet, relaxing break away from the city.
This cottage was ideal centre for exploring East Sussex. Coastal and Downs walks and many interesting places to visit. Very quiet, rural setting. Cottage well equipped and cosy.
This is a great place to stay if you want to visit Arundel and surrounding areas. The cottage has plenty of space and equipped with almost everything you might need. Yes as some of the other reviews say, the upstairs room does get pretty warm, but we have the same problem with our loft room at home. We didn’t find the stairs an issue at all, and they were fine for our 2 and 4 year old to navigate. Parking is a bit of a nightmare, but you should be able to find something within a short walk so not the end of the world. The owners left a lovely little welcome note and a few essentials for our ar...more
We booked Little House as it was near our son's home, we live in Cornwall and our other children live in Essex and Hong Kong. We all wanted to be together for Christmas and so the location was ideal. It was spacious downstairs with two bedrooms and a bathroom all of a good size and a further ensuite bedroom upstairs (couldn't work the heating upstairs so it tended to be cold). The open plan kitchen and living room allowed a very sociable space. The games room is a great addition when you have a lot of people around and is equipped with a table tennis equipment and a few board games. Al...more
Location is excellent - near to the beach but on a no through road so quiet. Pool was brilliant although would benefit from being completely fenced to make it safer for little ones. Loads of plates and big pots and pans but little room for storing foodstuff, and fridge and freezer much too small. Really appreciated the quality of the linen - very comfortable beds and pillows. Would definitely recommend this cottage and would consider returning.
A warm welcoming house. The position is ideal for us due to easy access to the coast and numerous walks in the countryside. The cottage has all the facilities we require and we have enjoyed all our visits.
One of the best showers we've come across in a cottage. A great kitchen too. The TV in each room and Wifi available were also nice touches. The customer service was very friendly and helpful, when we had questions there was always someone available. The location next to Fishers Farm Park, plus nearby pubs and towns was perfect for our family.
What a find. Small but beautifully formed and in a location almost to die for. A walkers / dog owners paradise; clean and tastefully renovated; well equipped kitchen; good shower over bath. It suited us and our puppy as we used second bedroom for our clothes. Go there now!!!
We have stayed in many cottages over the years and France Cottage is definitely one of the best. The cottage is comfortable, charming and has a delightful garden. It is in a lovely location with super views and a nice pub in walking distance (shops are rather further afield). The owner, who lives close by, did everything to make us welcome and ensure we got the best out of our stay. With lots of beautiful walks, beaches only a short drive away and lovely towns like Arundel to explore there is plenty to do! Our dogs had a great time too. We look forward to returning next year. .
Well equipped, cosy and comfortable cottage. We liked the way it had been sympathetically upgraded and that it retained many of its original features. Garden room an added bonus. We did feel shower curtain arrangement could be improved though. We know the age of the property probably dictates limitations, but a fixed shower screen would be a much better option, especially for larger guests. We thought the microwave should have been replaced due to its very poor condition. We would have no hesitation in recommending the property to others. It was a perfect base for us to catch up wi...more
Saxons was in a pleasant location and there was a nice patio area to sit outside on the whole the rooms were clean and comfortable. However I felt bedding and towels had been well used/washed and the towels particularly were 'thin' and needed renewing.
I have just spent 10 days in a lovely converted dairy cottage. I was given a warm welcome and shown where everything was. The views were either over rolling countryside or on horses heads looking over their doors, bliss. If you are looking for somewhere full of charm I would recommend Old Dairy Cottage any time.
The Print Studio is in a beautiful rural setting and is quiet and peaceful. The accommodation is nice but could be lovely with more attention to detail and some TLC.
My wife, my dog and I spent a long weekend in the Well House and loved every minute of it. The location is perfect for some great walks and ideal if you like the peace and tranquility of the countryside. We also spent an afternoon is Lewes which was only a short drive away. We would highly recommend.
We were delighted with our stay at the apartment. The location was perfect, and everything was spotlessly clean and looked brand new. The beds were very comfortable & the kitchen very well appointed. I loved my stay here - all the little touches made it feel like a home and not a holiday let, and my better half loved the smart TV. Would certainly try to book again next time we visit the area, which will hopefully be soon as we now have family relocated there. Thank you.
We spent 6 days at the end of October at Beach Reach. 4 adults and 2 children. The location is fantastic and even in October, access to the beach from the back door is fantastic. Waking up in the 1st floor bedroom to the amazing view is a real treat. There is loads to do in the area and we can highly recommend the English Heritage sites of Battle Abbey and Dover Castle as well as the fantastic bike tracks around Bedgebury Pinetum. The house had everything we needed and was a comfortable and cozy retreat each evening. Having a real fire was a treat. The only observation I would make is that ...more
Good except we found the bed very hard: key for front door mortice lock erratic: stairs not easy to negotiate.
Cosy, comfortable little cottage in an excellent location for a dog friendly break.Very quiet and fantastic walks nearby
The cottage is ideally located for access to all the major attractions in West Sussex, although the busy road alongside the is an issue. We did find a lovely walk from the cottage without having to cross the road, which was great for the dog, but on the down side the garden was not completely secure for him. The cottage was generally clean and tidy, if a little outdated. The bathroom at best can only be described as an ensuite in size. It is very small and located directly off the kitchen, which is not Ideal. The double bed creaked with only the slightest movement as did the old sofa! Over...more
Modern house well equipped. Shame about the limited parking. In general house style suits only 2 adults and kids due to only one shower and small kitchen/dining area. Office/lounge extension was a plus.
