The tent site is located in a secluded area screened by trees but convenient for on-site facilities. The weather was wet and sometimes cold but it was October. The site is quiet and near Aviemore (3/4miles)

Really enjoyed our very brief stop over; would definitely come back again. Liked the way the tent pitches were set out and remarkably midge less!

Great experience in a great place. I love this holiday park. The only issue we had were the teenagers in our tent field who listened to the music until 2am (I had to come to them a few times to ask to turn it off). While they did it quietly, due to the physics of tents and the field, you would feel that they are listening to it right in front of your tent. So, I would recommend booking the tent in special designated areas, not in the field.

The showers and toilets were not cleaned regularly enough and when we went to the shop at 7:40 one evening we were told we weren’t allowed to buy anything as they were closing up even though the shop closes at 8pm. No point saying it closes at 8pm if you can’t buy anything up until then!
Location was amazing and pitch field was nice and small which is good

It is a beautifully maintained campsite in a wooded setting. The plot for our tent was surrounded by trees and tranquil. The only negative is that the shower block had only two female and two male showers for a lot of campers and there were frequently queues. We found ourselves getting up extra early to avoid the rush.

This review is based on my overall experience and I understand that some of my issues would not be with the campsite itself but with the fellow campers sharing the tent field. I was meant to stay back in July but thunderstorms had been forecast so I changed my booking (which had been a forest pitch) to any date that was available during the school holidays that I was also available. This meant that I had to switch from a woodland pitch to a spot in the campfield. Not a huge inconvenience but from the tone of voice from the girl handling my query on the phone, it left me feeling like I had massively inconvenienced her! Not a great start to the only holiday I could give my son this year. We arrived mid afternoon and was greeted by a member of staff who spoke so quickly that I got the impression she wanted us gone asap. Off we went to set up our tent. We were lucky that the field wasn't full up and found a spot next to some trees to give us a little shelter/privacy. The field itself is a decent size and quite flat with only a few stones that hot in the way of our pegs. We had a booking with Cairngorm quad bikes (highly recommend them, they are based on the camp) and afterwards spent the evening trying to relax in the tent. Difficult to do when a family are playing rounders in the middle of the field and keep hitting the ball at your tent there is a toilet portacabin quite close to the tent field - the male door handle needs fixing as my son got locked in twice. But the ladies seemed ok - don't know how often it gets cleaned but it was never very dirty whenever I used it. The shower block however is a bit further away and was disappointed to find only 2 showers for the whole tent side of the park!?! Which meant a bit of a wait in the morning. I would have expected more showers for the size of this campsite tbh. But, I did get up earlier the following morning and didn't have to wait. The shower cubicle is spacious with a sink and hooks on the wall (one hook needs fixing in the furthest away cubicle). But the floor was soaking both times I used the shower - I know this is to be expected but something I felt I should mention - a better drainage solution would solve this. Shower itself was fine - a very small shelf to hold your shampoo etc. A mirror above the sink is a nice addition but a lack of shelves was frustrating. The shower curtains seemed clean. The Alvie food truck didn't disappoint and it's convenient. A neighbouring family however, felt it acceptable to take their dog nearby our tent and let it pee! Not sure if there's an allocated dog walking/toilet area but this to me was disgusting and just lazy! Anyway, we left the evening before we were due to, mainly because of the weather but mostly because my experience was not the chilled out relaxing camping holiday I had my hopes up for. Over priced for the condition of the facilities, the shop could stock a lot more supplies, the staff could be friendlier, and a warden could do rounds and check in on campers to make sure their stay is going well ‍♀️ it's in a beautiful location but it is somewhat lacking and could be so much better.

We arrived on a Thursday & the campsite facility was excellent from checking in to pointing out where everything was. The staff were friendly & helpful. Unfortunately the toilets could have been cleaner & quite a few were out of order. There is no opportunity to mop the floor in the toilets like in other campsites but that may be Covid related. Also the signage was poor because in order to get to the washing up area - you technically had to enter through the men's toilets (according the sign but in actual fact you didn't have to at all). Final comment was that there was dog poo on the tent field which I found incredibly unpleasant. I would like to see campsite's that are dog friendly be more aware of owners using the tent field as a walking area for their dogs and allowing dogs to poo on the field.
I loved the experience & am already looking forward to going back to this campsite!

It was great with a couple of buts

This was the first time we stayed in this type of campsite and we loved the private pitch and having forest around. The place was quiet and family friendly. Didn't entirly like our pitch though as there was hardly any grass on it and loads of stones that could be felt through the tent floor. From looking at pitches around us it seemed that only we had that problem. Playground was a bit of a trek which wasn't ideal either. Location itself was fantastic, well stocked shop open till 8pm, food van serving delicious food, great surroundings for walkingand cycling, close to many attractions i.e. Highland Wildlife Park, Loch Insch, Loch Morlich.

We visited in our tent with a four year old and absolutely loved the site. It is huge, and with lots to explore for a small child - lovely playpark and he adored the tractor train rides! The pitches are nice and private, other campers really respected each other and kept quiet.

The facilities were all you needed and were generally really clean, the only suggestions would be to have another men's toilet as the one unit was very well used, and to pop a sign on the doors to encourage people to leave the doors open to air out smells/ shower steam/ covid risk etc.

Incredibly - not a single tick, and only one midge bite as we were leaving, and the weather had been muggy too!

Red squirrels bouncing around near the tent was a total treat :) Just a lovely place and so easy to get to Aviemore and Loch Insh. Oh - almost forgot to mention the incredible food van too!

Sadly a cock up by Dalraddy meant we ended up on the tent field rather than one of the much quieter and more secluded woodland pitches. Immediately after a booking a place on the tent field online, I phoned to see if we could get one of the woodland pitches… spoke to a lovely gentleman who said it wasn’t a problem and who assured me there and then that he had transferred our booking. Despite asking if I needed to do anything to confirm the change, was told that everything was good. On arrival we were directed to the tent field which at first I didn’t query as I/we don’t tend to make a fuss, but on seeing that this area was going to be busier and noisier, we returned to the reception to query this. Alas the place was full and no woodland places left… so our tendency was to just get on with it, which we did. As anticipated it was a lot nosier than we would have liked, although the rain did dampen both the noise and the partying. As a result we left after the first night.
Nothing wrong with the park itself, and to be honest, the staff we met were brilliant - just really disappointed that the telephone conversation wasn’t actioned and consequently we lost the money for extra nights stay.
All that said, I wish Dalraddy all the luck in the World in these mad times, and equally hope everyone who stays here has a wonderful time - but unfortunately for us, a “sods law” experience spoilt our experience.

Good pitches in the field with easy access from the parking bays all around. The picnic benches are a good addition, but unfortunately some were commandeered by early arrivals - seemed to be a bit against the spirit of it.
Staff were helpful and cheery in our limited interactions.
Wash facilities were grand - Clean, not too busy, felt COVID-safe.
Great on-site and near-site activities, including the new tractor-train for the little ones, which was a lovely end to the weekend right out through the forest (40 minutes, maybe).
And, of course, Alvie Forest Foods deserves an honourable mention because it was class.

When we arrived we were made to feel welcome, clear directions to tent area. Tent area not to full plenty of space for tent and gazebo and a few picnic tables in the area. There was some parking but mainly at one side of the camp area.

Toilets and showers clean and easy accessible.

Food van was not great and only a few choices and not good value for money.

Phoned campsite reception about five times between 10am and 10pm and left two voicemails asking to call back - nobody answered the phone and called back only the next day. this is why customer service was ticked as not great. i think voicemail messages should be dealt with on a day.

first few days camping were great however on Sunday afternoon the campsite got too crowded. our tent three times were hit by a ball. are children allowed to play football and run in between the tents?

Had a great stay in the tent field, beautiful location near Aviemore and lots of outdoor action. All campers respectful of noise / social distancing etc. Met some lovely people. My only criticism is the loos/ showers could be closer ( or have dedicated ones for tent field) but that’s a small observation. Alvie food stall a great option. Will be back

A lovely pitch which was private and quiet, set well back in the wooded area of the site which was visited by a number of birds and a red squirrel although it was a reasonably long walk to the shower block.
The booking process was simple and pleasant, made easy by lovely office staff. I would definitely recommend this site.

We has a wonderful stay at Dalraddy. We were on a woodland tent pitch which was excellent. The pitches are the best we have ever had with lots of space and privacy.
Hoping to come again towards the end of the summer.

One of the best aspects of Dalraddy campsite is that the pitches are arranged in trees so that you feel quite private even when the campsite is full. The new work on making stone car parking ports and a string across which makes a fantastic drying line was mush appreciated. The location is stunning and a walk along to the open ground at the end allows you to watch the sun set peacefully with a pink glow over the Cairngorm mountains. Showers and toilet block are very clean and the water very hot and showers powerful. There is always a cheery welcome and the staff are very efficient.
The food stand near reception is also quite exceptional.
No wonder this is the only place I book for groups when kayaking the Spey!

I recently stayed at Dalraddy Holiday Park with some family (some in tents, some in camper vans) and our entire stay was absolutely fantastic.
We loved that each of us had our own little "private" camping area surrounded by trees and all made use of the lovely fire pit near the Quarry.
Would highly recommend the site to anyone!

All good again - staff very friendly, helpful and flexible. Facilities very clean to help COVID-safety - the staff put in a lot of effort and emphasis on this, even so late in the season, when there are fewer visitors. Impressive that plumbing maintenance was done after 10pm, to minimise disruption. Look forward to next visit - great that the site is open all year and very reasonable for a pitch.

very late season tent camping - good pitches, all separated by a decent set of pine trees, giving a sheltered pitch for each camper. The path through th etrees to the toilet block (spotless facilities) was a bit tricky to fin din th edark, though. The Alvie food van on site is great, the shop good for basics. Only grip is thatthe tent pitches are way beyond the wifi zone - that needs a walk to the shop/reception area to briefly log on. Would certainly be back if I need a campsite in the area again

Stayed 2 nights at short notice at Dalraddy. Tent pitch area was quiet with parking spaces around the outside. Toilet/shower block nearby and very well maintained. Ladies at reception helpful & friendly. Superb food from the Alvie Forest trailer by reception. Some covered seating in the BBQ area - very civilised for a chilly morning. Highly recommended all round.

The pitch was a good size and though it was near the access road for the campsite and other pitches, passing traffic wasn't a problem and other campers were very respectful of quiet time.

The ground under the turf was quite rocky, so be sure to take rock stakes and a good mallet. I knocked a few chunks out of my rubber mallet knocking in the pegs.

The toilet block was a few minutes walk away. I found the toilet cubicles to be small and because it had been raining the floor was covered in mud, the shower room too. This made it difficult to sit down on the loo without getting trousers messed up on the floor, and there's not a lot of leg room though I'm only 5 foot 7.

Changing in the shower was also a challenge, it was like a game of 'hot lava'. Toilet tip: Take a pee bottle or two to avoid late night treks to the toilets here ;) and in hindsight I would pack flip flops for the shower room.

The staffed reception area is good (though a bit low on stock at the shop in my visit) and the activity hub with access to archery, quad biking etc is great. There is also a food van with good quality food on sale which keeps convenient hours.

Location and value are both excellent. A short drive to Aviemore and to Rothiemurcus or Glenmore.

Overall this is a good campsite, convenient and well run with efficient staff.

The toilets could be better but would need significant investment to improve them and are satisfactory for the price, just come prepared for that.

Nice campsite situated in a convenient location for exploring the Cairngorms. We camped in the standard camping field and had no complaints to make. Nice flat pitches and plenty of space to so as not to feel over crowded. Toilets and showers only a short walk away down a lit walkway. Facilities where plentiful and clean.
We would definitely stay at Dalraddy Caravan and Camping again.

We found Dalraddy really well laid out and spacious. The trees everywhere hide the fact that it is actually quite big.
My only comment would be that the toilet block, although provided with hand sanitiser, provides the opportunity for transmission of Covid. I thought face masks would be required when moving around in there.
Overall though enjoyed the stay - and no midges!

Rocks under the surface bent quite a few pegs but everything else was great. Had your own little pitch surrounded by trees. Facilities were clean and modern. Bbq areas if you dont have your own and fires are allowed aslong as they are raised off the ground in firepits. No midgies in September.

We loved our stay at Dalraddy Campsite.
The receptionist was helpful and the shop stocked most essentials.
There was a lovely Grill van at the entrance cooking up delicious meaty, vegan or veggie meals .
Our pitch T15 was spacious and tucked in to a level clearing in the pine trees. We chose not to have an electric pitch. There was ample room for our car ,Tent and we had our own picnic bench too.
Lovely peaceful night. Have recommended this site to friends.

Just recently camped at Dalraddy Holiday park. Very quiet location, could not hear service road or A9. Little noise from railway but nothing major. The toilets and showers were very clean and plenty of sanitizer available. Ladies in the reception were friendly and helpful. The shop was well stocked on essential foods and forgotten camping equipment. There was a hot food van on site when we visited. The site is a 5 min car journey in to Aviemore, which makes it quiet. Lovely walks from site on to moors and forest. Just wish I'd asked to change pitch from busy centre field to something away from other behind, so have a walk round before pitching and ask.

The site itself is brilliant with great facilities and lovely staff.
My only faults are that upon booking I requested a pitch with an electric point but didn’t receive one.
Pitch T11 was very difficult to pitch a tent onto as the ground underneath was very rocky a couple of cm under the grass surface which meant that tent pegs would not fully insert into the ground to secure the tend and guy ropes.
Also T11 is directly on the main road leading into the camping area so there is noise from cars and pedestrians walking by. We parked our car in front of our tent to try and help with this.
Minor gripes as we still had a great stay and would definitely use the site again. Excellent toilet, bbq area, staff and activities.

Stunning camp pitch, felt very secluded which really made you feel like you were in the wilderness. But with the additional comfort of clean warm showers and other great facilities.

Site clean enough, toilets good and shop provided basics. There were Hand sanitiser in main locations around camp. The pitch was suitable for my size of tent but they had areas for bigger tents and tourers if need be. Not to far from aviemore

I really appreciate finding a place for tent camping that is NOT plonking my tent down in the middle of a field with lots of other tents. I liked the privacy the "secluded" sites offered in the pine trees. The only drawback during our stay was the road just the other side of the trees, but having said that, it was easy enough to tune out the road noise, and it didn't affect our stay negatively. We camped just as Scotland was re-opening following Covid shut down. The toilet blocks / showers were clean and not crowded. I feel those who were staying on site in caravans were following the advice to use their own facilities as much as possible. I think mask-wearing should be encouraged in the toilet block and dish washing facilities. We will be back for more private camping in the trees!

First time I have stayed at Dalraddy with my family and I must say I was impressed. Great pitches each separated with trees to give you some privacy during your stay. We arrived after the office had shut but had no hassle in collecting our map and finding our way to where we had to pitch our tent. The facilities are kept clean and the site as a whole was tidy and well kept. Some other reviews mentioned about the proximity of the a9 and the railway and noise but we did not find this an issue. Although you can hear the noise and from the a9 and the railway the trees kept is quiet enough not to annoy us. We were planning on fishing in the Dalraddy estate at Loch Alvie but due to an issue with a reduction in fish permits we had to go further afield. I would recommend you phone ahead to check this if you do plan to fish during your stay. Overall I would say the site is very handy for the Aviemore and beyond - We will be back.

Stayed in a secluded pitch, good location in the trees. Bit of a walk to the toilets but that was fine. Had a 2 & 5 year old with us and they loved it. Lots of stuff to do in the area. Came here 10 years ago and still a good campsite.

This is a very nice camping site located in a forest. Each camping space is separated from the others with trees, which gives you a personal space. Facilities are clean and adequate. No Wi-Fi, but why would you need it in a forest anyway? :)

My favourite campsite in the Cairngorms. The showers and toilets are always warm and spotless.
Pitch 11 is a short walk up the hill from the toilet block. It is well protected by trees on 3 sides and it was great to have s picnic bench to sit on.

102 is next to washing area and toilets but not too close. Convenient for small children. Previous campers had left many burn marks in the grass and littered with spent charcoal. Very few midges which seems to be a theme of this campsite.

Booked our spot last minute as we had been wild camping touring and decided to find somewhere with hot running water for the night.
Very cheap, clean, quiet (a little too quiet as after 9pm I felt very self conscious about my kids talking too loudly as everyone around us had went to sleep.)
There are no campfires allowed so we did get a wee bit midge bitten but my only negative feedback would be how far away the toilet block is, gets quite lethal to pee in the middle of the night as you navigate down stairs avoiding being blinded by the powerful lighting and still managed to trip over what I think was a pipe.
The toilet block however was spotless warm and I have to say the power shower really gets the job done.
I would stay again but not with a tent but rather the caravan.
We were gone as soon as we arrived but the wee shop and pleasant staff made you feel very welcome ....well worth it

We had a really good time during our 2-night stay at the park. The staff at the office were very welcoming, friendly and a great help. The facilities were very good in total, I would be hoping for next time to see (if possible) more showers for the camping pitches, as currently there was only one for the ladies and one for the gents and the waiting time to use one was quite long. The toilets and showers at the main block were a lot more for example. I'd definitely be staying again.

Trip spoilt by gangs of other campers unsupervised children and hours and hours of loud music blaring from several pitches..... Almost as if they were competing against each other. We left a day early, probably won't be back as it's an expensive site and isn't for us.

Great weekend, weather didn't dampen our spirits. Toilet/Shower Blocks & Dishwashing Facilities very clean. Large Firepits at BBQ Areas a nice addition (smaller versions at each pitch would be a good idea too?).

Very little of no grass on this pitch, it's very bare compared to others.

Clean facilities and camp site. Really enjoyed my stay here. Nicely lit as well to make finding your way around in the dark easy. The only thing i'd mention would be they need to corner off this pitch for a while and let the grass regrow as it became pretty muddy with the rain.

Great location with secluded pitches in the trees. Sadly the toilet facilities were of a very poor standard. Overflowing sanitary bins, empty hand towel dispensers, and filthy floors. I appreciate that people can leave a mess but a single daily inspection and cursory clean isn't acceptable. That aside, a very peaceful site right on the Speyside way with a lovely cycle path to Aviemore or Kincraig and beyond. An enjoyable stay despite the cleanliness which could have been a temporary issue.

Thank you so much for your feedback it is greatly appreciated as it helps us see where we need to improve. I firstly would like to apologies if the toilets at the tent area were not clean, this is certainly not usual practice. We have them cleaned in the morning, checked in the afternoon and cleaned at night so this should not have happened. The toilets in the tent area are under a lot of pressure at this busy time which has brought to our attention the need to put in a new toilet block which will be able to cope with the demand. I am very pleased you found your stay peaceful and I hope you will come back again.

Hi, we (3 Lads) Camped for two nights - Friday and Saturday and Walked the Larig Ghru on the Saturday. We were all very happy with the Campsite but found it a bit if a stride to the Toilets (Boys being Boys we were having 'a few' Beers and were back and forth to the Loo. I was greeted warmly and staff did everything to help me and make me feel welcome.
T15 was a large pitch surrounded by trees which made it nice and private. It was a little lacking in grass in places but was more than adequate for my needs. It took my large tent with ease plus my car tucked away nicely in the trees leaving the rest of the pitch nice and open with plenty of space.
Toilet facilities were kept in good order by the DHP (Dalraddy Holiday Park) Team and they were constantly doing jobs around the park to keep the place in excellent condition.
I was there for 12 days and never had an issue with anything.

The location of the pitch in amongst the trees was great, very private and lots of space. Thankfully there was a breeze so there were no midgies. The shower/toilet block was a bit of a walk, so nobody was keen to go through the night. Only two showers, so there was a queue in the morning even though the campsite was not so busy. They were generally clean. Bit of noise from people after 10 one night but very quiet apart from that. Staff in the shop were very friendly and helpful.

We camped at Dalraddy for 2 nights, and really enjoyed our stay. Pitch was great, and facilities at campsite were really good. Staff all very friendly, accommodating and helpful. Only minor drawback was not having a pub close by, but the on site shop well stocked and very reasonably priced. Local buses are available right outside the campground, which made transport options easier too. We would definitely stay again, and would recommend to others.

We only stayed for a weekend as we were hill walking. The camp was easy to find, nice area sealed off for camping. Very quiet when we were there. Toilets/showers a very short walk away. Hot water not a problem. Didn’t see any camp staff as we were out most of the time, but correspondence with them was easy and their directions good. Much cheaper to stay here than the big two in Aviemore. Much quieter as well I bet. I will return here next time I go hill walking in the area

Tried to see reception during my stay which had closed earlier than advertised so I emailed to explain I would be leaving a night early. Didn't hear anything back from the email so called up. Apparently there is something in policy to suggest that you lose the fee if you go home early. Not clear to be honest and not that happy about the customer service.

Despite it being a bank holiday if you camp in a carefully chosen woodland bay it needn't feel busy.

We stayed here in January this year what's happened? . First not a sink plug to be found anywhere. Cutting trees at 5 30am. Hand dryer complete waste of time. GOD'S POINTS staff great polite and helpful. Clean. Reasonable price. We will come back as I am sure my observations are short lived blips.

Arrived at campsite and went to book in. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rained a little before we got there but managed to stay dry in till our tent was up. The pitch we got gave us a few bent tent pegs but suppose you can get that anywhere. Campsite itself has toilets...showers...washing machine..tumble dryer and a room with sinks to wash any dishes you may have.the only downside about camping there is my wife and daughter weren't able to dry or straighten their hair after a shower as there was no plugs to plug anything in, maybe need to do something about that in the future. Apart from that it's a very lovely..big and quiet campsite...aviemore only 5 to 10 mins away.

Although this is a great site, the cleanliness of both the male and female toilets was abysmal: unclean, lacked soap all weekend, the hand dryer didn't work in the ladies and toilet paper all over the floors. We didn't dare use the showers. One side of the ladies toilets and showers were closed at 10.15am (possibly one of the BUSIEST times of day!) for cleaning, which put even more pressure on the remaining four toilets. Unfortunately there are not enough toilets for such a big campsite (even including the two additional single -toilet portacabins). Clean toilet facilities encourages clean behaviour.

We recently stayed at Dalraddy campsite for two nights and we have been raving about it ever since. The staff were friendly and helpful and we had a very relaxing stay , We arrived just before 8pm to find that we had forgotten our tent pegs and the shop was about to close but they stayed open long enough to allow us to buy some. This was the first time we stayed in a private pitch and it was lovely. We hardly felt like we were in a campsite as it was private and peaceful, there was enough distance between us and the pitch opposite with plenty of space to park and to put up a shelter over our table etc. Toilets were within easy reach. There is a friendly atmosphere at the campsite and the surrounding scenery is stunning . The location is also perfect with plenty to do around Aviemore. Finally , and very importantly when travelling with a large family , the campsite is extremely good value in comparison with other campsites in the area. The only thing we would change is that it would be good if every pitch had its own picnic table. We will definitely be back .

All good, would definitely recommend.
We camped in 6 man tent, 2 adults 4 kids, easy to find somewhere to pitch up.
Toilets and showers all kept clean, good facilities.
The only negative for me was that the temperature of the showers could not be set, they were fixed on very hot so when showering with young kids the shower room became a steam room which wasn’t ideal.

The campsite is around 4 or 5 miles outside Aviemore so there is not much you can walk to.

Would definitely return again.

The Dalraddy Holiday park near Aviemore is a fantastic campsite. We visited 15 years ago and it has developed so much over the years but with so many benefits. The individual camping pitches are great, giving you your own spot surrounded by trees to give a certain degree of privacy, which is great. The kids loved the play park. We will most definitely be back in the future.

Overall was good with respect to facilities. A few comments for potential improvements.
I could not find any rubbish bins in toilet/washing block or elsewhere aside from the main rubbish/recycling areas
The ground was very uneven and we did not manage to find a level area to pitch tent.
Had a good stay in spite of this.

Great location, good facilities.

The toilets, showers and dish washing area could be bigger and better located for tent campers. Currently it is located in the middle of the caravans area. They were clean and mostly functional (one of the two urinals was not working). On a busy weekend it was inadequate at times. NOTE: while we were away for the day someone had gone through our small two person tent. It seemed they were looking for valuables since they ruffled through our sleeping bags and extra clothes. They left the screen door open and the outside porch door open but did not take anything. We left no valuables in the tent beyond the obvious sleeping bags and mats. Beyond the obvious distress of being violated (my first time this has ever, knowing, happened to me in over 40 years of camping) and the large number of insects in the tent nothing was damaged. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR VALUABLES IN YOUR TENT WHEN YOU ARE AWAY. Perhaps this was just a one off, hard to know

DHP reply replied more than 1 year ago
Thank you for your feedback it is greatly appreciated. We have had a plumber in to look at the urinals and get any issues with this resolved. With regards to a person going through your belongings, this is very serious and I am so disappointed it has happened. Anything like this should be reported to reception or the warden if it is out of hours and we would always recommend reporting it to the police. I hope this has not put you off visiting our campsite as it is certainly not something that normally happens and it is very frustrating that there are people out there who do this sort of thing.

People were very nice the site was clean with toilets near pitches. Only fault I would say is the shower blocks should have sockets for hair straighteners and use of your own hair dryer as I was in a non electric pitch I had to walk around with fussy hair during my stay.

My partner and I stayed at Dalraddy Saturday - Sunday at the beginning of July. The site was extremely easy to find and the staff were very helpful upon arrival. Our camping spot was great, also easy to find especially as we were given a map of the site when we arrived. It was a shame we only stayed one night as both Dalraddy and Aviemore are great to visit.

Arrived around 8pm to a lovely campsite but quickly fell short of my expectations when it came to pitching the tent as the ground was ridiculous, it was so hard with stones that out of 18 pegs not 1 went into the ground as it should (all bent and ruined) and what should have taken 20mins to pitch turned into over 1hr I later checked other people's tent and everyone was the same. I suggest somebody from management goes and tries to put a peg in the ground, you are taking money from people but not providing adequate ground.

The other issue we found was there is not enough shower blocks and the water was off so we had to go down the bottom of the site and why is there no wash station in the camping area. I think you are not ready to deal with the number of people due to lack of facilities yet it appears there is work being done to make more tent pitches, I hope that you will invest in more facilities in the future.
Overall not the best experience but still a lovely place, I would not return until improvements are made.

We decided to take my son on his first camping trip and Dalraddy was a brilliant spot for it! Sheltered and secluded pitch. The only issue we had was the slight hike to the toilets but we survived and this was a minor issue. We loved how close to local attractions the park is.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at dalraddy. It is the 1st time I have taken my son camping and everything we needed was close by. Toilets, shop etc. Great location only 5 mins from the numerous activities in aviemore. Pleasantly surprised by how reasonably priced the shop was too compared to other holiday parks i have stayed at. Most impressed and would recommend a stay here if you were in the area.

Spent 2 nights at Dalraddy camping with 3 grandkids. We all lived our stay and all agreed that we would go back again. Our camping pitch T15 was in the trees, excellent spot. Quiet but also close by to the toilet block. Kids loved the pitch as they liked running around hiding in the trees. Toilet block is really good, very warm and clean. Will be back for another visit.

The site is set in a beautiful location with rabbits and red squirrels running around the pitch areas, The shower and toilet facilities are excellent with plenty of hot water at all times. The dish wash area would benefit from a bin for waste food to prevent people trying to force leftover porridge etc, down the plug hole of the sink.

We stayed here in a tent may half term. The site is well positioned, close to Aviemore just off A9. The shop has a good selection of stock with friendly and helpful staff. The showers and toilets are clean and warm. The field we pitched on was nice and even some hard ground though! Lovely views and our 6yr old liked the park.

Staff at reception where understanding with our situation . Location was good as where all the pitches . It Was hard to get tent pegs into the ground due to stoney ground. Toilet block are self contained units offering washing toilets and shower unit which where clean and supplied with hand and toilet paper. A little tite as to room but shower room was good but could do with a shelf to keep cloth off the floor.

I will return in the future.

It was our first time camping at Dalraddy. The site is lovely. Set amongst for trees it is very picturesque and quiet. Our pitch was large with and surrounded by trees. There was a pinic table which came in handy.
The main toilet and shower block was close by. They were clean and we didnt have to queue for a shower.
I think we would ask for another pitch further into the trees and away from the main track next time.
And there certainly will be a next time!

There was a hiccup with our pitch, had booked electricity but not available on arrival. The staff did all the could do to rectify this, providing extension cables and other items to try and help.

The space available was great and really safe for children to run about and play in the park.

Facilities were clean and warm. Plenty of hot water.

We had a lovely pitch amongst the trees and it felt like we were wild camping! We weren't overlooked and had plenty of space. It was great. When we arrived at Dalraddy we were made to feel very welcome and it was great to receive a map with directions to our allocated pitch. We will definitely be back.

Good location in the whole, nice that we were all spaced out a little allowing privacy and loved having the bench for food!. Cleaningless of facilities was very good but out campsite had quite a lot of cigarette bugs left from previously visitors. Will come back!

Stayed here for two nights last weekend. Had an excellent time. Good walks near by, good facilities at the camp etc. The actual pitch was a small alcove in the trees which was lovely and gave you some privacy when you wanted it. Can definitely recommend.

There is a pleasant feeling once you enter Dalraddy Holiday Park. The area we saw is well laid out, with plenty of greenery to keep it feeling open. The staff were friendly and professional, providing lots of information at check-in. The facilities of shower/toilets were clean and accessible. We stayed in the camping field, which is well-drained and flat. Cars can be parked next to the open pitches, it has picnic benches, and stair access down to the facilities. This path is lit up after dark. The camping field is higher and more exposed than the rest of the park, and it was noticeably more windy up there on our stay. There is also the drone from the A9 nearby, and the occasional train, but while aware of these, they didn't bother us. A very pleasant stay that was excellent value for money.

We spent the first 2 weeks in August 2017 at Dalraddy, the site is kept really clean as were the toilet/shower facilities. There was always hot water available. The laundry facilities were good and very reasonably priced at £3 for a full load which took 30/40 minutes and then £1 for 15 minute tumble dry.
The staff in the office/shop were always friendly and very helpful and informative about the site and local facilities and activities.
The daily fresh strawberries were delicious and well worth the £2.90.
Good to camp in a site where the 10pm - 7am quiet time is respected ensuring a good nights sleep.
You can cycle from the site to Aviemore via the Speyside way which runs at the back of the site.
Would certainly recommend and will be returning again.

Pros
Good location, quiet pitches, space for kids to play & ride bikes

Cons
Very limited facilities. 2 washing up sinks for the entire site, limited showers. Recent investment in a washroom portakabin doesn't offer any quality.

If not for proximity to Aviemore no one would pay such a premium for site so lacking in investment.

The site was very run down, looks like no money has been invested in it for a long time. Cleanliness of facilities was absolutely shocking, toilet paper left on floor by the cleaner as he was "cleaning" hairs in the plug in the showers, never removed, mould on the roof, lumps of dust over the walls, very dirty. No ventilation in the showers. Very small amount of showers for the size of the place. The park area for children was run down and not much at it. The warden came round twice in one night, couldn't sleep until early hours as noise on the camp site was ridiculous. One group got thrown off the site. Not a family friendly environment at all. Definitely would not return or reccommend to anyone.

We enjoyed our recent stay at dalraddy and just have a few suggestions:

More pegs in the toilets and showers please (esp main block)

Some reels of blue paper so campers can help keep the sink area in loos and dishwashing free of pools of water.

The dishwashing area is really small for the size of the site.

The pitches around T36 are actually at the furthest point from all facilities and if we return, I would ask the be closer.

All these points would add to the camping experience!

I stayed here as part of a tour of Scotland where I stayed at 6 sites in total, and Dalraddy was my least favourite. I'm a solo traveller so my needs are different to say, a family, but this was my experience:

Positives - it's pretty close to Aviemore, easy to find, reasonably priced, has WiFi on site and there is a well-stocked shop. There's also a nice play area and there are lots of activities advertised on site or nearby so if you have children that's a plus.

Negatives - the staff member who served me was very blunt and seemed bored and disinterested, very busy, lots of families, noisy until late at night, shower block and toilets were quite a walk from the tent field and the route wasn't well lit the whole way so at night I found it difficult to find the toilet, only two showers were warm and all were a bit dirty so there was long queues, camping field was bumpy, rocky and uneven.

I wouldn't stay here again and wouldn't recommend it unless you are travelling in a group or a family and don't mind being up late/ walking a way to the toilet.

I booked a single pitch for two small backpacker pup tents and four adults. My son and his 3 friends were doing a charity coast to coast walk. I felt the £48. I thought this very expensive whereas our camper van and a waning with electric two adults and a dog was good value at £30

4 days camping on T11 was pleasant. I was away early and back late as my trip to Kincraig was to photograph various species. Site was fairly busy, numerous small children, but quiet after 9pm. Full bins by end of day were emptied early morning. Toilet and shower block was effective and clean, the hot shower whether morning or night was very welcome. No-one bothered me and I had a couple of nights of more sleep than I would get at home. Red squirrel foraging in the pines around the tent was a bonus. Privacy at T11 was good. Didn't have any interactions with staff after arrival. Pleasant stay, would use the site again.

Having never had my own private pitching area, it was a lovely surprise that this was the case. It was nicely set in the forest, very quiet at the time, and there was no one pitched in any of the pitches near us either (they seemed to space everyone out). Facilities were nice too and it was nicely positioned close to Aviemore.

Excellent campsite in great location and get cheaper than the Glenmore campsite up at Loch Morlich, yet but as good. Very quiet and spread out so you have some space to yourself. Good showers and toilets and all in all a very pleasant stay.

We were up for walking in the Cairngorms so didn't take advantage of the activities on offer.

I have to say that this was my 1st camping trip for my son and mine in 30 years and was a fantastic experience for my wife and my son as well. I loved the location of pitch 4 and bizarrely managed to camp in the spot in the photo on the website made lots of friends and after the 1st day my son had accumulated a whole heap of new buddies. It would have been amazing if we could have had an electric hookup as where we we camped there were points adjacent on the other side of the road however I preferred the open location in the central part. Love the campsite and staff were polite and courteous. Please can we have more electric hookups Thanks

Great toilet & shower facilities. Stayed in a camping pitch (no electric hook up) and it was fab, there was trees dividing pitches and running behind them so were lovely and private which was ideal when I had my hyper husky dogs with me for an event. Highly recommend. Very clean as well didn't spot any rubbish or vandalism.

Always a clean and tidy site, plenty of space, well stocked shop open long hours, toilets/showers very clean. Good lighting for night time walk to toilets. Perfect for families. We always try to book the field for tent pitches so kids can play with each other. You can still have electric hook up at side of field if you need one. If you prefer quieter private pitch there are plenty. We have used this campsite for years as a couple, family and as a group. People are generally very good at sticking to the 10 pm "quiet" rule.

A last minute booking turned out to be an inspired choice. Fantastic location, excellent shower and toilet facilities, some of the best I've seen and really nice spacious setting. The only thing I'd like to see would be for the shop onsite to open a little earlier for my bacon in the morning, but seriously I'd highly recommend this site to anybody.
Thanks for a great weekend!!!!

This lovely site has gone downhill. Having stayed here several times over the last 5 years I feel the site & facilities need attention. The showers & toilets need a good clean. There was no working hairdryer & no sockets to plug into too to use our own. Reception staff disinterested in this.
A small (filthy) freezer to refreeze freezer packs (on the floor or the laundry room) is not adequate enough for the number of people using it- the site needs a larger chest freezer.

There had been heavy rain prior to our arrival but the pitch was in terrible condition. Mud everywhere. Trees need cut back to access water point etc.

The new toilets at the top of the site have no hot water!

The only good facility is the cycle path to aviemore.

Having recommended this site to many family & friends I will now be hesitant to return unless things improve.

Enjoyed our stay at this beautiful campsite we had always been wild camping previously but it was good to have other kids around for ours to play with.

Lovely but albeit brief stay in fab location.
Friends had their camper & two of us had our tents.
Winds were wild but lovely camping pitch.
Only slight disappointment were the showers were Luke warm.... But in fairness it was August so height of silly season.

New to camping and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff were really friendly and helpful, shop was well stocked with a good choice of goods. Laundry facilities were good, only thing was we had to queue for them. Lovely setting and would definitely go back. Thank you.

On arrival at Dalraddy I found the staff extremely friendly, polite and helpful. The park itself was not my preferred choice of location but everywhere else was full. However I was glad I stayed there as it was reasonably dry. Other sites closer to Cairngorm were wetter, and at least the sun broke through at this site; all part of touring Scotland. The facilities at the park could do with being increased. I only found 4 showers in the main block which were busy, but the water was hot and the showers were ok when I managed to have a shower. There was only 2 washing machines I found which were on constantly, so don't expect to do any washing here. At night take a torch with you if heading to the toilet blocks, as the lighting was damaged and only one light was working through a wooded path. A bit daunting for any female patrons. The shop which doubled as the reception was sparse and means a trip to Aviemore for shopping. Due to the location you would have thought that a larger shop would be good business. There is no pub or restaurant on the site. Depending on you're viewpoint that could be a good thing after all camping is about getting away from it all, so if you want entertainment go elsewhere. On a minor note, and this applies to anywhere, please make toilet cubicles a bit bigger, i'm of slight build and trying to get in and out of these things requires some skills as a contortionist. Note: - if you are of a larger build use the cubicles in the shower room.............there's more room to manoeuvre. Despite the whinging I found the site very good and would go back just because the staff were so friendly and helpful.

We liked that our pitch was tucked away and we had plenty of room for our large tent. It felt as though we were almost wild camping with hardly any other tents visible from ours, but with the benefit of a great clean toilet block. It was really peaceful in the evening as well although the road was quite noisy during the day but as this was just our base for day trips that was not an issue. The only two points that let the site down slightly was the poorly stocked shop and the lack of dish washing facilities. Each day we were here we had to wait in line to wash our dishes as there were only two sinks, I think that was a first for me joining a que of three people waiting! Only minor issues so would happily recommend this site

Great campsite, easy to navigate around. Plenty of showers and toilets so no queues and facilities were clean. Numerous fresh water taps dotted around. On site shop was handy and the kids loved the play park. Great location for heading into Aviemore and further north to surrounding attractions. Will definitely stay again!!

We were pitched in the camping field which was brilliant. We could pitch next to our friends, the ground was flat and dry, we could park our car next to the tent, the kids could play in the centre of the field with other children (which only had a couple of tents in), we were only a short walk from the toilet block and despite the campsite being full, we had loads of space.

Had a brilliant stay at Dalraddy. Campsite is excellent well organised and clean. We had a lovely pitch in the woods which was very private. Bit of a trek to the shower/loo but we didn't mind as we enjoyed the privacy of the pitch. Nice playpark and Aviemore is a great area!

I have stayed at Dalraddy several times. There is a good camping field plus individual pitches if required. The location is good for Aviemore and the western Cairngorms. The facilities are reasonable and good value for the money paid. I paid £7 pn for camping.

A campsite in a lovely setting with great facilities. From pitch T36 it's a bit of a hike to the showers but showers are lovely, clean and warm with plenty hanging space. There's also a small toilet block closer to the tent pitches which reduces the walk a bit. There's a choice of individual pitches or the main field. The individual pitches are quiet and secluded, the main field more open. We'll definitely be back.

Already planning my next visit, love the private 'alcove' style of pitches. Limited showers due to refurb work but didn't have to queue, my stay was pre school hols. Found it tricky to refill mop bucket so unable to clean out cubicle as well as I'd have liked. Would be useful to have some info provided about internet access.

4 days playing golf in the surrounding area was the backdrop to a perfect stay.
The campsite has been improved and the facilites are brand new with family sized 'wet rooms'. The owners and staff are very friendly and happy to spend time with you.
This is a great place to base yourself what ever your chosen activity.

The Dalraddy Holiday Park was excellent for a family tent pitch for one night. There was a choice between the tent field and secluded pitches in the trees all of which were away from the static caravan area. Great views of the surrounding mountains. Clean toilets showers and washing up area. It was May bank holiday and even so there was plenty of space available. Dog was allowed. Some other sites locally do not allow dogs. Having camped rarely since I was much younger it surprised me how much it cost to pitch a small tent for one night - £23 in all, but its a beautiful location and the facilities are good.

We found Dalraddy campsite after shopping around a bit - glenmore was very expensive for camping (>£25) for one night and other places were similar, so Dalraddy was a great find at £14 for a night.
The facilities were very good - the showers were hot and clean. This was great in the morning since we forgot to bring roll mats and were freezing!

I pitched my tent here one night during a hill walking weekend. Arrived after 5 and map and instructions were waiting as described in the email .. The shower /toilet block was clean and tidy , showers were hot .
The individual pitches are secluded giving some privacy . I didn't visit the shop during my stay but one of our party said I was well stocked . I've recommended it to friends.

The hosts here were life savers for us when our tent poles snapped in the high Skye winds! They allowed us to stay in their simple cabin that they provide as shelter for campers, for the same price as camping- there's a tv in there so we watched some films and just used our camping gear. Facilities were plentiful and clean, all you want at a campsite. Very friendly an helpful hosts. Beautiful spot by the loch, quite a drive to get other places but that's the case anywhere on Skye and the scenery is beautiful.

Clean and with all amenities needed for ones self.....
But after 3 nights stay I was told they had not enough amenities for 3 dogs!!! ...... I was not told that 3 dogs were not allowed on the site when paying for them on the previous nights! I could understand them not allowing more than 2 dogs if I was hiring one of there caravans, but in my own tent what does it matter!!!! so this being the case I shall not be going back with my tent!!! and my dogs!!!
I would recommend this site as long as you have no more than 2 DOGS !!!

Overall, a good site that could be even better with some improvements. The recently installed toilets at the camping end lack hot water and (crucially) handwash soap. The provision of showers in these facilities would be nice too. It is unfortunate that the campers, who have a greater need of facilities than caravans, motorhomes and mobile homes, are furtherest away from the main facilities block!
The camping pitches are not well signposted and although a map is provided, signs showing which pitch numbers are down which track between the trees would be helpful; a one way system around the camping access tracks would perhaps also be useful.
Otherwise, the site is clean, quiet and had a low midge population that was very welcome.

The camp site is in a great location, near but not to close to the overly expensive Aviemore.
Showers & toilets are clean & a washing up area provided basically its the most important things that I look for in on camp site
The bins in the camping field were full, taking rubbish to another bin an employee took it for me which was great but it would have been better if the bins had been emptied more regularly it was not busy & the bins were overflowing.
I would like some fire pits around the camp area, but can understand the reluctance of owners not to allow them.
All in all a great site & no doubt we will return

Really is a great place to base yourself if you want to see the Spey valley and beyond. We went cycling every day from the camp site and always found something new.
Downside - really needs more shower/toilet facilities! Porta-Loos are great for the middle of the night pee but short on main washing/showering spaces.
Still, would definitely recommend to others!

Fantastic location, friendly capable staff and the pitches were perfect and felt more private than most I've stayed at. Constantly funny smell from toilet block and showers were mouldy in areas but I think it was an issue with the drains and certainly they tried to keep on top of cleaning, which must be difficult with so many people in and out. Shop well stocked and good value. Really pleased we happened upon them.

Really impressed by this site. My son and I turne dup out of the blue with our two man (yellow midge attracting) tent, got given a lovely site in a cut away bit of the woods, loooked at the excellent facilities and immediately booked for another night. Plenty of safe walking tracks for dosg and children that lead you to some suprises as to how large but well hidden the site is.

The campsite as a whole was fine and understandably catered primarily for people with cars who can carry a lot of equipment. I was cycling and it would have been nice to have a picnic table on the site. I only saw one site with a picnic table.

Couldn't fault the location and the pitch, nice wee secluded area. However the shower block and wash area was a good 5 minute walk with only 3 showers available in the men's to look after all campers and tourers. They did however try to keep them clean. Portaloo's were dotted around the camp area but really stank and we're in need of a good daily clean and emptying. Overall the campsite was okay but I wouldn't rush back unless a new shower/wash area was located nearer the campers.

It is fairly large but nice camp ground. Some sites have trees and therefore are more private. We stayed for a short time only and pitched the tent on a large patch of grass. The facilities are nice and clean. The staff at the reception was particularly friendly.

Picked this site for the activities offered as a treat for my son. Only to be told the quad bike activity did not have enough people to run. Then only after my son had put on the harness for the zip park they told him he was too young to do the activity alone. Got a refund but not even a hint of an apology from the staff at the site even though they knew his age from the booking. The toilet shower block is a distance from the camping area and the 3 smelly porta loos provided are no compensation. Showers were filthy. If like me you are thinking about booking this site for the activities don't. There are better sites in the area and the Alvie estate activities can be booked separately.

First stay at Dalraddy I had a one night stop over on my way to John o groats. The lady on reception was really helpful, she found us a pitch at really short notice. The camp site was in a peaceful location with small pine trees around most pitches to make them private.Site was clean and everything around that you need.
Would stay there again without any hesitation.

Excellent location with great services on-site. Very helpful staff, and great value. Other sites locally looked overcrowded with tents too close to one another; this place is set in much bigger grounds. Will be returning soon! Thank you

Dalraddy Holiday park is a class above. Top facilities, all clean and plenty for the size of park.
Tent pitches were ample spacing wise, and I love that you have trees round each pitch making them private and quiet also.
Price was cheap and staff were very friendly. Shop was well stocked with all needed!
Thanks!

Staff seemed quite lost, alot of confusion with regards pitch sites, there's only one toilet block which is quite a walk for tenters. But its OK and seemed very popular

We used the site as a stop over for heading north this time we have been before great pitches easy access to the ameanaties. Noticed no portaloos in the forest area this year long walk to the toilet blocks. Love this site really quiet will be back for a longer stay. Thoroughly recommend

Facilities, especially showers, not very clean.
I paid on line then was charged another random £2 on entry.
Otherwise all good. Nice pitch.

We are a family of 4 with 2 young children. The site presents well and has good size shop, playground and washing facilities.

The only down side to the stay was the noise. A group were located in a hollow behind us. They were up till after 1am talking very loudly and playing music. They also had a very large fire which the wind was blowing smoke towards us. A real shame that the rules are not being policed.

After bagging Braeriach, a hot shower was worth the stay. Rabbits provided entertainment as I drank hot green tea at one of the picnic tables basking in the sun..

Great camping base for Northern Cairngorms and Glen Feshie. We had an individual pitch which was surrounded by low pine trees ~ possibily providing some shelter, but kept the sun off the pitch in the evening, and blocked views to the hills! Staff very helpfull, and good value compared to Glen More Campsite. Toilet block is modern and in good condition ~ our only complaint was that the showers were tepid, and never warmed up ~ the dish-washing water was however scalding hot!!!

This is the second time we have stayed at Dalraddy and absolutely love it. It is one of the cleanest, friendliest sites we have stayed in. There are small camping areas for a bit of privacy between the trees, or else, you can camp on the open field as we did this time. All locations are great. It is a shame that there are no views to the Cairngorms from this side of the site, but a short walk to the other side of the holiday park brings you to spectacular views. The A9 road is noisy throughout the night, but not too noisy as to disturb our sleep. Lovely place.

Stayed for 2 nights 5th & 6th Sept; when we arrived the staff were helpful and friendly.

The pitch was lovely; individual surrounded on 3 sides by trees, it had its own picnic table. Although probably only 10 meters from the next pitch it was enough to feel really secluded and was so peaceful.

The toilet block was a few minutes walk away but would be quite a walk from further pitches; however the staff did inform us that during peak season there are port-a-loos sited nearer.

We have just finished a weeks camping in 3 different areas of Scotland, this campsite won hands down.

We will definitely be returning :)

Stayed here for a long weekend with friends. The campsite is in a beautiful setting but some of the facilities could be improved. Only 2 toilets in the gents and one was out of order. Glad to find a coffee machine in the shop as there are no eating facilities on site. On the sunday morning there was no coffee in the machine when it was most needed !!!!

Campsite very clean, rubbish collected by staff regularly ,shop small but well stocked and reasonably priced only small gripe ,could benefit from a walkway from the site to aviemore as it is main road and didn't fancy walking it with the kids all in all definately booking for next year

Stunning spot for camping! Our pitch was away from the main camping field and was very secluded! Very quiet! Only downside was distance to the toilet block which also housed the washing up facilities other than that a lovely site which suited our needs!

It is a lovely little site and the wee individual plots are a great idea especially for someone like myself bringing dogs as we have our own space. The wood for walking the dogs in at the top of the site is also brilliant as I like to get up early and take the dogs for a run before breakfast and as no-one else is up I am not disturbing anyone out there!!

Reception staff were offhand and unwelcoming. Asked for two pitches adjoining, was told the adjacent one wasn't free but wasn't actually occupied at all during our stay & even put us beside the toilets out of spite. Avoid at all costs

Easy to find site a few miles south of Aviemore. Friendly staff helpful both for checking in and also for getting us taxi numbers to get into Aviemore for a drink at night. The individual pitches on the site are great with trees on three sides providing plenty of privacy. Only minor issue was a lack of water taps in the area we were in (T40s, 50s and 70s have none) meaning we had to walk to another area. Not a major issue but other pitches were definitely better off in this regard.

Its not an exaggeration to say that we always compare all other potential campsites to Dalraddy.

The staff always friendly, extra toilets provided near the further pitches during peak season.

Privacy, peace and often some of the best weather in Scotland.

Only minor downside is its a drive to nearest shops (other than the on-site one).
