South Bay is a large 5 bedroom holiday home rental situated just a short stroll from Rosslare Strand's five-mile stretch of golden sandy beach.

Great location and lots of space for a large family but could have had a lot more TLC done to it as it was poorly cleaned and needs to get WiFi put in.A lot of hassle on clients part organizing bins to be emptied as were full and stink on arrival, not a good start to a holiday!

It was a lovely house that hasn't been maintained well. Dirty floors & filthy Windows on arrival, which were cleaned in the following days. The downstairs bedroom smelled bad, cleaning & airing didn't rectify that. The sitting room furniture was very dusty & also smelled bad. The fridge didn't work properly & we had to throw food out. Extremely loud plumbing woke me up numerous times. Comfortable beds.

Very Disappointed

From the minute we stepped into the property at South Bay we were hit with a damp and musty smell. Great start to our holiday by the sea. The property had been cleaned but the smell in the downstairs bedroom was overpowering. Aine the caretaker came on Sunday morning at our request and she agreed the smell was bad and she offered to clean the room again. I thought the property had not been occupied for a while and this might be part of the reason for the smell but she informed us that it had been occupied the week before we arrived and had been a very busy season. Following the clean, the smell was still there. We had to ensure the door to this bedroom was closed at all times. Other problems included rooms had dust on skirting boards . No storage in the bathrooms- shelves missing etc., TV reset itself every 5-10 mins which was annoying. Some blinds were stuck and could not be opened/closed. Fridge was not cold enough even though it was at Max. We had milk and meat go off. Toilets could not be flushed at night as the noise while refilling was very loud. Double doors to patio/garden did not open. The line provided was a rope tied against the green stained garden fence with the neighbour's oil tank against the other side of the fence. Other problems included the back garden /patio although large left a lot to be desired. A few folding deck chairs were provided. A small round plastic table had to be lifted from the dining room through the back door (double doors did not open). It was miserable to look at. The dining room kitchen and living room were adequate. Suite of furniture was comfortable to sit on. The only reason we stayed for the week was that there was no other choice as accommodation in the area was booked out. Also it was only a 5 min walk to the beautiful Rosslare Strand. I am not one to complain usually but we feel really cheated out of our hard earned holiday this year. The children hated the house. It is a disgrace the the owner of the property can get away with charging €1,100 per week plus €25 to Relax Ireland. Aine (who was very nice) passed on our comments to the owner but we did not hear from him. Am I surprised? No!
