Four of us Came down to Ballyvauhan for the Singers Weekend 14th February. The cottage is fine, however we would have depreciated, if there was something in the kitchen to make tee or coffee and some firewood or loggs to make a fire on arrival.
We didn't stay the full week and hat to pay € 90.- for electricity for only 3 days, which we think it is way too much.

Good afternoon Michael Thank you for taking the time to write a review on Ballyvauhan. We are glad to hear that you like the house and location. Not all our owners provide welcome packs on arrival. The electricity in these houses are meter read. I have been speaking with the care taker and the meter was read with you on arrival and departure. Kind regards Maura

Damp and musty. Full of moths.
I had to get caretaker back as pillow cases still damp ( not dried properly). Toilet seats burst open with foamy material extruding , most unhygienic. Cupboard where fridge was- skirting board broken off with sharp nails sticking out ( I have 3 small children). Loose plug sockets in kitchen.Duvet covers don't close over duvet at bottom, again a hygiene issue. Dirty edges on travel cot. Wardrobes and cupboards not cleaned properly ( I have photos of all the above problems). Ring marks from cups on bedside lockers- just old and worn out looking- on the other hand it was generally clean - floors, carpets all ok. And in particular the caretaker Clare was very helpful and came over straight away with new pillowcases, and she was friendly. A super location made everything bearable,

We stayed in these homes for 3 days in Feb. The house was very comfortable. Would be great on summer time. We enjoyed our stay. The quilts on the beds were a bit light for this time of year but we just left the heat on and we were very cosy. Great for family would recommend

Thank you Niamh for your review. We appreciate all feed back from our customers. We are glad you enjoyed your stay at Sam Maguire Cottages. These houses are very cosy and perfect for familys. I will pass your feed back on to the home owner so they can ensure that all needs are met in future. Thanks and kind regards Maura
