York Cottage is a cosy two bedroomed end-terraced cottage located in the city village of Heworth, childhood home of Dame Judy Dench. This property provides a relaxing retreat in a quiet village, yet is only a 20 minute stroll or 5 minute bus ride from beautiful York. This charming Georgian cottage is in the historic conservation area of Heworth and has Mair's Deli, The Walnut Tree pub, two supermarkets and a traditional fish and chip shop on its doorstep. (A ten minute walk will take you to the green areas of award winning Glen Gardens, Heworth Holme and Monk Stray.) Perfect for a romantic getaway or small family

This is a lovely little cottage, so comfortable and cozy, it felt like a real home from home. The friendly and helpful owners really have tried to think of everything you might need and leave a very generous welcome hamper. Everything is immaculately clean and bedding , towels etc are all of very high quality. Am looking forward to a return visit.

York cottage was easy to find. We'll appointed. Everything provided for a short stay plus lots of thoughtful extras. Comfy. Warm. Opposite a bus stop. 7 minutes from york on bus. Very close to 2 pubs. Owners very helpful over arrival / departure times. Kept in contact in case of issues. Great experience. Highly recommended

We had a lovely time at York cottage. Cosy, lovely comfortable master bedroom, ideal location for all activities in York. Very clean and added extras like welcome hamper and robes a nice addition. Did find the wicker dining chairs uncomfortable personally but I'm also heavily pregnant so not sure that helped! Only issue with location was found there was some noise from next door at night with TV blaring. However, again we are used to not being attached to anyone so perhaps a little more sensitive than most.
Overall a really nice place to stay for our short break :)

Beautiful holiday home with all the home comforts you could want. Lots of personal touches making you feel very special and welcome. Lovely and clean. You will want for nothing. Owners made contact and were extremely pleasant. Picturesque 20 min walk into the city centre. The Walnut Tree is a nice little pub a minutes walk away. There is also a good fish and chip shop,a deli,a small supermarket and a boots chemist just 2 mins walk. Easy access to the A64 for Scarborough & Whitby. Such a gem we will definately be back.
