We absolutely loved our stay at West Lexham. The grounds, the pool, the food, the self-catering facilities and the restaurant were all absolutely out of this world. The only things that let us down was a broken bed during our stay (this was very quickly drilled back into place), an uncomfortable bed/mattress that made a horrendous noise every single time we moved in the night, and a broken hot water bottle that leaked out onto the bed and burned me when I got in. I left the water bottle in question outside our bell tent on the chair. The others worked fine. Overall our stay was lovely but the sleeping arrangements could be more comfy!

We had the most amazing stay, 2 adults and 2 children. Beautiful surroundings, gorgeous pool, rowing boat for anyone to use, outdoor kitchen with everything you would possibly need. Gorgeous greeting from the hosts. Just lovely

We loved our stay in the glamping area. There are many activities for families, such us rowing a boat, garden games, swimming in the swimming pool or the lake. We also visited the garden kitchen where Lucy showed all the vegetables they are growing and gave some to the children. We are really grateful!

West Lexham is an Amazing place in So Many ways … it is the first time I have fully rely relaxed in a long time. I swam, I walked in nature, I was surrounded by beauty … including the buildings, I last under amazing trees, listened ti the wind and the beautiful sound of the incredible wind chime. I felt safe, even when I was out on my own, I had space to meditate. I felt incredibly looked after by the warm, kind, completely down to earth team - Aimee in the restaurant was incredible hospitable and kind. She looked after us immensely well for the 2 days she was with us and Maria was also very sweet too. Tanya the duty manager, when we arrived was so kind when she saw how stressed I was feeling and was so generous in her offer of help. She then efficiently passed this on and her offer was efficiently carried out by the team, wihich again was soo stress free and kind. I couldn’t think of a better place to regain your sense of calm and balance within, eat amazing food provided by the beautiful, abundant and nutritious vegetation, fruits and trees grown on the site, in the most friendly loving environment, having such easy access to the wonders of nature and a most amazing pool. I cannot thank you enough.

A stunning location for family Glamping! The most beautiful bell tents, the new cabins looked amazing and the bath/ shower / loo facilities are clean and also actually beautiful. We love the eco ethos at West Lexham and love the new addition of the kitchen garden which is expertly managed by Lucy - who is happy to show you around and if your lucky will let you pick some fresh strawberries! The pool is stunning and again being chemical free makes it the perfect place to spend time with the kids. Beautifully landscaped English lawns and gardens combined with a lake, some sheep and a Japanese zen garden makes this place truly magical! I will definitely be back with the family - and also may treat myself to staying for a yoga retreat!

This was our second visit to West Lexham and our second stay in a bell tent. The tents are great, everything you need. The washrooms are beautiful, clean and well maintained. Our first visit was before the cafe was built onsite and as much as we loved the outdoor kitchen, the cafe is first class! The whole place has calming energy that is hard to describe. The kids has a ball with meeting all the other kids there, the freedom they have to explore and just play is great. And we all loved wild water swimming this time! The evenings are relaxed around the fire bowl, meeting new people and hanging out with a glass of wine or two. A couple of nights wasn’t enough, no one wanted to leave. We’ll be back again for sure!

The tent was clean and comfortable, but having a late night disco for a ‘family weekender’ was odd as we couldn’t get to sleep due to the booming bass on the first night of our stay. We had a 2yr old with us. The website photos showed rustic seating and table outside the tent. It would have been helpful for snacks, relaxing and breakfast to be able to sit at a table by our tent.

We were confused by the ‘no self catering’. A family weekender with small children really needs cereal and kiddie friendly options, not to mention snacks and drinks available all weekend - and it was hot! We ended up (as many others we spoke to did) going to the supermarket and stashing food and drink in the tent. The restaurant itself was very nice, but very expensive, very limited choice and repetitive menus. The staff were polite and (mostly) smiling, but not always wearing their masks inside, however I felt they were coping well with a limited team under stress.

The entertainment was fantastic, The Flying Seagulls were fabulous on stage and off. Absolutely 5 star people, organisation and performance. The lake was lovely, but if the pool isn’t available (another guest said they’d been five times and never been able to swim in the pool) perhaps update your photos and advertising. It’s just disappointing expecting something that’s then not delivered.

I understand that the whole weekend was meant to be open to day visits from the public - I would worry about security in the tents. There were a lot of people wandering around who we presumed were staff, but didn’t know. Branding could be considered in future especially as there were children (some left unaccompanied) everywhere. I myself helped one crying very distressed child, so there are safeguarding issues.

We enjoyed the weekend but currently have no plans to return due to the lack of self catering. If you pay that much in a hotel or BandB breakfast is often included. We would probably have made lunch ourselves then had supper in the restaurant. It made a huge impact on the weekend for me personally having a hangry husband and trying to get enough suitable food into my daughter.

I stayed with my friend and three dogs, everyone was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately it rained heavily when we were there but the owners moved us to a more warm and dry tent which was great. The place is amazing and I’m sure is amazing in summer and when covid isn’t a threat any longer. Will be booking again for sure, defo recommend to friends, couples and families.

This is a greaut location to spent a few night in the outdoors, it is how described. No bad surprises, very relaxed atmosphere. Very clean and nice shower facilities and outdoor cooking area. We stayed with a toddler who loved it even though he didn't want to stay in the bed. Loads of concor trees to explore and blackberries to pick. Would come back.

We have had one of the most enjoyable family holidays at West lexham over the last few days.

Us and our 2 year old daughter made the most of the site, cooking out in the beautiful outdoor kitchen each night, including cooking pizzas one evening. Each day we were supplied with some amazing fresh fruit and veg from the site veg plot.

Colin was a really warm and friendly host, happy to share his knowledge about the site, but equally let you explore and discover the features of the gardens, forest and Japanese garden.

We absolutely loved wild swimming in the river, and making use of the rowing boat too!

We can't recommend the site more, and can't wait to visit again soon!

This was my first time glamping and I was really impressed. I would highly recommend it except that that would make it harder for me to book a stay for next year! It was clean, friendly, and sustainable. The bathrooms were clean and extremely pleasant, the tents were dry, and the communal kitchen was a lot of fun. Our kids very quickly made friends amongst the children of other families visiting, and there was a great communal spirit. The lake was fun to play about on, there are places to visit nearby. It's a shame the pool wasn't open due to Covid, but I imagine that adds even more to the experience when it is. Ironically we had the most fun the evening that it poured with rain, as everyone mucked in together and kept the wine flowing!

West Lexham was the perfect post lockdown break for our family. A beautiful campsite with a relaxed vibe & space for the kids to roam and explore. Great facilities including a fantastic kitchen garden & wash house with endless hot water. The lake is wonderful for wild swimming too.

Lovely bell tent in a beautiful location. It is the perfect mix of relaxation and activities with something for all the family. We loved the wild swimming lake. The bell tent had everything we needed and the beds were comfy. The communal kitchen was well stocked and using the pizza oven was great fun. Toilet and shower block are amazing. We spent our evenings around the communal fire pits.

The only thing I would recommend is more information on site. I know info pack have been removed for COVID but for example we only discover the freezer on our last day.

It was a very nice place with nice people, a shame some of the campers didn't know how to wash up! And some of the facilities like the toybox and the boats are looking a bit worse for wear. Also we couldn't get wifi in the tent area. But overall we had a good time despite the rain.

The communal kitchen was really dirty, flys on every surface. With the number of guests on site it needed some up keep from the hosts.
Other guests who were staying in tree houses took cooking utensils back with them which caused shortages for everyone else.
No where to hang T towels
There were no sharp knives
Not enough storage space...Other guests were brining pasta makers and a weeks worth of food with no where to put it.

The hand towels by the toilets were always wet and dirty...not sure how often they got changed over.

It's a lovely place but I think as it's gets busier the experience is going to deteriorate.

Also for people with young children there needs to be a secure lock on the door to the boats as this is a danger to youngsters.
