Excellent all round one suggestion would be to buy a bigger toaster in the restaurant
4 of us had toast for breakfast but it took ages for the waitress to cook the toast.

We had a lovely weekend here. the grounds and buildings and swimming pool really make this place unique and very tranquil.
There were however some shortfalls regarding amenities. It was raining on our night of arrival and the despite having booked the restaurant, the numbers were too low to open. I was expecting an area to eat that kept us adequately dry when eating our dinner but as another family had already moved a table to the only undercover area, we had to sit on damp chairs under a sun umbrella!
I was also surprised that the fire pits you advertise were not lit?
Breakfast was excellent but you were out of many ingredients on the full English (beans, bread, sausage) and unless we’d challenged the price we’d have felt short changed. You’re on to something really special here but to feel seeking some advice on the catering front and service would put you up there with the best.
One final tip, giving more notice on the restaurant closure would have meant we could have booked somewhere else, a weeks’ notice meant anywhere decent on a Friday night was already booked up.. perhaps a list of recommendations on eateries too in these instances.
It’s a fab spot though so good luck with it! We’d only return if we had a treehouse with catering facilities as a result of the above comments.

A couple of days immersed into the nature... the bell tents, cabines and tree houses are beautifully layout among the natural landscape. It's quite pleasant to be there, walk and swim and forget about the city life...

Amazing place - weather was fabulous
The washing facilities were far superior to any camping ones I have used before
The temporary kitchen was an unexpected extra although one night a family did rather takeover the kitchen area.
The tents were clean and comfortable and additional fairy lights etc made it extra special
The atmosphere of the place is very unique and we were all impressed.
My only criticism is that the cafe staff although very polite were slow but maybe coming from London I need to change my expectations!
I would highly recommend it and want to come return even considering a yoga retreat

We had a great time at the campsite. We swam in the pool, lake, took the boats out. Food was amazing!

On arrival we met with the host, who proceeded to show us around the site, everything looked great and we were very happy to be there, it was then dropped into conversation that we couldn’t eat at the restaurant, due to three retreats being booked on the same weekend, this was very disappointing and poor from west lexham.

We have three children, our friends have two young children, so to turn up to where you are staying and be told you cannot eat there is quite frankly appalling, there was no prior warning from west lexham regarding the other bookings, so we were left to scramble around to find nearby restaurants to see if they could accommodate us.

We didn’t want to let this sour our stay, the site is beautiful and serene, unfortunately it has put us off coming back again, better communication is needed with future stand alone bookings like ourselves.

We had a wonderful stay at West Lexham. The place, bell tents and surroundings are truly beautiful. The staff was delightful and always helpful and smiling. It was a special experience and we would love to come back!

On the whole a beautiful venue but the time in the bell tents was really not OK. I've got 4 young children, have been going through a hideous divorce for over 3 years, work really hard and have no family near me at home. I really needed to feel looked after and thought for a total cost of approx £2400 this would happen. The map showing your bell tents shows them to be well spaced apart - the reality is that they're far too close and crowded. There was a horrible smell near the wooden bridge too. I've been glamping a few times and have always had at least a table and chairs outside to eat and a full set of crockery and cutlery with freezer for ice blocks. Instead no sign of any of this; a kettle by the cafe but no mugs, no way of eating our own food unless we used our hands, I was told there'd be use of a microwave but no microwave in sight, no obvious kindling or logs to light a fire to toast marshmallows (but marshmallows were on sale), with no clear explanation of where to find these things. Supplies did appear on the Friday morning (maybe you only stock up once a week? Bad luck to those Monday arrivals). I booked self catering which changed to only the on site cafe being available. Lovely food but difficult opening times with young children and it added £100 per day to our holiday. Pool was closed and although covered as a possibility in the small print on booking in February, I thought it would only be closed due to Covid - instead it was just simply closed with no compensation or apology. We went rowing and one of the boats isn't even really useable as the fixing for the oars is broken. For the money I spent you can't even make sure the rowing boats are fully useable?! I'll never stay there again, what could have been a relaxing break became really hard work. A friend has asked me for your details and I told them not to bother. I also will not stay with you again. I can see it's a beautiful venue for a retreat and the tree house was lovely but the 'glamping' element really poor. Sorry.

The porperty and the surounding are absolutly fantastic. Once you are there you feel completly relax and in contact with nature. The tent is comfortable and everything is super clean.
On the other hand I felt so dissapointed about our stay as I book this glamping because they had a lovely restaurant ( organic food) and I love the idea of NOT DOING ANYTHING at holidays. But they had a group booking at the site and couldn’t attend us or anyone else at the campsite althought they told me they had some ISSUES at the kitchen and lunch and dinner were not Availble. Then in the morning the group had a fully menu including eggs while the rest of the host were left aside with a simple breakfast.
I felt that I was charged fully for the accomodation but we were second priority guests as the group took all the places and attention.
So I think the place is lovely but we should be informed in advanced because I didnt want to end up driving daily and doing shopping to cook in a non self catering site.

We needed this break . I stayed in a bell tent with 2 of my adult children & my 2 year old grandson. We were lucky with the weather until the last night . We loved the location : the peace: the kitchen : the grounds : the bathrooms . A photographer’s dream . The bathrooms were scrupulously clean & warm . Loved snuggling down in the comfy beds with a hot water bottle . Will definitely return . Desperate to try the swimming pool . A great escape . We love Norfolk . Thank you all .

We stayed for 4 nights in a bell tent and what a wonderful experience we had. The children absolutely loved it (ages 5 and 3). Lots of things to do around the site, the children enjoyed every part of it. For adults its a real peaceful environment, in its own little world really which we really liked. West Lexham is also not too far drive to other tourist destinations, Holkham beach, bewilderwood adventures etc.
Overall a great stay and can't wait to go back!

Very comfortable beds and great shower block and kitchen. We didn’t have great weather unfortunately, but the kids found friends and it was fun swimming in the river

We very much enjoyed our glamping, the grounds were beautiful and so peaceful. The kitchen and bathroom facilities were excellent, we very much enjoyed our stay.

The only issue was not having enough charging points onsite to charge mobile phones/ipads etc. This would have been helpful.

We stayed at West Lexham for two nights in Bell Tents having previously discovered the site on a yoga retreat.

Hands down, the best camping experience ever! The outdoor kitchen was awesome - a great mix of a rustic, outdoor vibe with convenience and ease (and camping is rarely synonymous with ease). The washrooms are fantastic - stylish, warm, clean. Wst Lexham is a beautiful place - the gardens, the lake, herbs and plants buzzing with life. We swam, rowed, made pizza, gathered around the fire bowl, outdoor yoga, read books - and all within the space of about 40 hours!

Well done all on creating a truly special place.
