Eilean Feoir is a wonderful place for a holiday. The view from it is breathtaking as is he whole of the peninsula, the beaches are fantastic and as a bonus we had a Red Deer Stag visit the garden most days. We had a great time and would love to go back again.
The Byre is a very cosy, comfortable cottage in a beautiful location. The Wood burning stove was perfect for cosy evenings after the very few rainy days. John and Jacqui were great hosts. Thanks a lot for the heartly welcome and for all your value advices. We had a great time at the Byre and have enjoyed every day. Highly recommended
In my opinion, Rudh Dubh is, without doubt, the most beautiful place on earth in. It provides a complete getaway from life's worries and stresses. I went there to start writing a new book. The only interruptions were that I couldn't stop staring at the beautiful changing skies, the seals playing in the water, the waves on stormy days, the clear blue sea in the sunshine ... the list goes on. Even the wind sounds different to the wind at home ... no buildings for it to work its way around ... it sounds like it's singing through the heather and across the mountains. The little house wa...more
Spent Christmas in this beautiful home with plenty room for all the family and so very well equipped with lots of extras..and amazing views.. to make a stay here special.
You couldn’t ask for a better position, right on the sea front with spectacular views from the lounge and main bedroom windows. Sheep on the beach, sheep in the garden, sheep in the road. Loved it! The kitchen was well stocked, the lounge comfortable, the main bedroom could do with a new mattress, the bathroom looked quite new. We had a problem with the flush on the toilet, we reported it and within minutes a man arrived to have a look. He couldn’t find a problem but it carried on being troublesome as soon as he left so we reported it again. The chap arrived quickly again but was unable to f...more
My 4th visit to Dondies. Such a lovely little cottage in a perfect location. So peaceful and the views are gorgeous, changing several times per day depending on the weather. If you like quiet, gorgeous scenery and a lovely wee cottage then you'll love this place.
Ever year we return to Steading Homes at this time of year and as usual we are very well looked after.
Perhaps a little isolated for a stay at this time of year, especially with the weather, but bungalow was nice and warm, there is a good chance i may come again next year.
The bungalow was bigger than we expected and very well equipped. The view from the lounge and front bedrooms was fabulous! We would have liked WiFi connection but at least the 4G phone signal was enough to post to social media to boast about the beautiful place we were staying! Cleanliness has just got an OK because of the giant spiderwebs hanging from the utility room ceiling. Bathrooms and kitchen were spotless! Lots to do in the area . We wished we had booked for 2 weeks!
We have been holidaying in Kilchoan for decades - so that's our recommendation of the area as a holiday destination. This is our second stay in this cottage and the kitchen has been renewed since our last visit. The house is very well equipped and we had a very comfortable stay. We enjoyed using the breadmaker and the wood burning stove . The WiFi (required by son for work) was good. It was still warm enough to sit outside and the tables are well placed to maximise the sunny spots.
Had a lovely short break in Kilchoan Ardnamurchan, part of the workforce building a new house on the hill.
We arrived on a blustery day to find the cottage well-heated & cosy. It is wonderful that the Trust has saved such an iconic cottage from dereliction & there are still a few improvements to be made but we loved our stay & hope to return.
Enjoyed our stay in Kilchoan, we were very lucky with the weather, dry and sunny days in late November.
It was a third stay at a Steadings Lodge for me and the wife, the fourth for our daughter, and the umpteenth of my Sister and Brother in Law. We will be back again. Ardnarmurchan is a beautiful place and Steadings provide comfortable and well priced accomodation for families.
The lack of anything to welcome us felt like a bad start (no washing up liquid, soap... flowers) and mean spirited. It is sad to see such a fine old house neglected and seemingly unloved. Two of the bedrooms are fine, if you like old furniture, which I do, but the other two bedrooms are not suitable for adults. All the furniture feels tired, worn and cheap. The 1950's is not a good look! The kitchen and scullery are really badly laid out for working in, or for sitting. Having these old plastic covers on the armchairs in the sitting room is frankly rather insulting. The fumes from the Rayburn...more
