Sixth time in this cottage and it remains one the cleanest, well equipped cottages we've ever stayed in. Amazing views from the living room and beach just seconds away. Really well equipped for everything you would need. Perfect family retreat.
Coss, well equipped cottage in a perfect location. Really enjoyed our stay and will look to return.
Very pleasantly surprised by how comfortable a stay we had. The caravan/extension is set in a lovely spot & feels very private. Amazing view from the sitting area windows. It is lovely to be so close to the beach & Sanna too (a lovely walk of 30 mins or so with great views along the way.) The porch/utility room really adds to the usefulness/spacious feel. Its a large enough space to simultaneously hang out washing, hang wet gear, leave all bags, cases etc & still have lots of room. We were only 2 people but I imagine for 3-4 this space makes the caravan very do-able - it's a great overfl...more

Peaceful, beautiful and refreshing little piece of paradise. There are insufficient superlatives to cover the feelings Rudh Dubh provokes. The wildlife, the scenery, the weather (in all it’s forms) and the atmosphere of the building itself make for a restful place away from the modern world. Just sitting on the deck with a cuppa or a glass of wine waiting for the next wave to break is reason enough to return. We left with heavy hearts but a spring in our step after a refreshing week. Fingers crossed for a return visit.
Spent Christmas in this beautiful home with plenty room for all the family and so very well equipped with lots of extras..and amazing views.. to make a stay here special.
Brilliantly well equipped, best we have ever stayed in. Everyone loved the cottage even the dog, who was totally at home. Very good location easy access to beaches, hills, pub and shop. Plenty to do in the cottage on a rainy day - games, DVDs, Sky, etc. Thank you for a lovely stay.
This was ideal for five adults and location was brilliant directly opposite the bay with fab views of sunsets from bedroom, iving room and front garden . Very conveniently located for walks either way to Sanna bay or to The Lighthouse. Very well equipped for rainy days too with TV, board games, wifi and woodburner. Garage with washer and barbecue very useful too. Easy parking.
Wonderful stay.Be back. Wildlife ,sea & great walks from door. Cottage has all you need for your stay.
The view from the living room is straight over to the islands of Muck, Rhum and Eigg, which appeared and disappeared with each change in the weather. We loved watching them come and go. The house is beautifully quiet (apart from the wind) and the little beach at Kilmory is within easy walking distance. The house was comfortable and cosy, and scented with the sweet peas left in the kitchen. The water comes from a private supply and is really brown - if staying here again, we would bring water for brushing teeth etc. The kitchen is very well equipped. It doesn't have a dishwasher but this...more
The bungalow was bigger than we expected and very well equipped. The view from the lounge and front bedrooms was fabulous! We would have liked WiFi connection but at least the 4G phone signal was enough to post to social media to boast about the beautiful place we were staying! Cleanliness has just got an OK because of the giant spiderwebs hanging from the utility room ceiling. Bathrooms and kitchen were spotless! Lots to do in the area . We wished we had booked for 2 weeks!
Very comfy lodge. Think the price was about right for what you get. Kitchen with everything you need. Good size bathroom with spare toilet. Shower was hotter than the sun with great water pressure. Was advised not to bring food and buy local, as would reduce environmental impact and boost local suppliers. I was all for this but with hindsight I think taking some supplies is a good idea. The 24 hour grocers is excellent but they have what they have. What we did buy, however was fresh and tasty! The village shop was closed by the time we arrived Saturday then shut on Sunday. When it di...more
Uncomfortable beds and. Extremely bad sofas, we were in the cabin a lot due to very bad weather so comfort was important. I was disappointed to find black mould at the kitchen sink and in the shower. It is worth paying extra for the better quality cabins which have WiFi and sky in. case of bad weather. P. S the fridge door needs to be the other way round.
A very comfortable cottage in a wonderful location in a remote area of Scotland with lovely views. Handy cafe for a morning coffee and an interesting exhibition about the lighthouse. View from the top of the lighthouse amazing. Cottage spacious and well equipped.
We were pleasantly surprised to find a very clean and cosy cottage. The owners have thought of everything which made the stay even better, from cleaning products to books and games. We will definitely use Steading again. The location was also perfect.
The lodge was excellent for us as we were working in the area, had everything we needed, we just had to bring food and clothes, didn’t get to go the local shop but apparently it is well stocked, Thanks for a nice week just a pity we were working most of it.
We were moved to Glashven after we complained about the state of Ian’s Lodge. We were happy at Glashven after the horrible start. The house was fair enough but a little tired in some areas. The kitchen was new but not well thought out. Difficult to fill the dishwasher from the sink. The manger did her job well and rectified our situation quickly but on looking through the reviews of Ian’s Lodge the issues we had , had been issues with others for a long while. The weather was very good which made a huge difference and we had a nice holiday. The area is very remote so be aware of this whe...more
