We have stayed in countless cottages and this one was one of the best ever! Don't worry about whether you'll get to heaven - just stay here and you'll have done it!
We have been returning to the shore and now the croft caravans since 1993! We love it here. Janet and Alistair I would like to consider friends if for one week in the year. We are now looking forward to next year's visit!
This was our second visit to The Byre. We really enjoy the comfortable, homely feel of The Byre which provides the ideal place to completely relax and change pace. We were originally booked for June but the Covid restrictions resulted in our booking being postponed to September. The customer care are support we experienced as we navigated our way through all of that was superb and friendly and gave us complete confidence that all would be well when we did finally get to use our booking.
We loved it here! Such a stunning location overlooking the little bay, where we were greeted on our arrival by a whole host of seals. We spent most of our week exploring the coast in both directions, with a few trips further afield. Inside all very well appointed and cosy. I'm sure we'll be back!
The 6th time we have stayed in The Bungalow - speaks for itself. The most beautiful place to stay, go walking, swimming and having a thoroughly relaxing break away from it all.
Really helpful owner as all but one of the storage heaters didn’t work ( but alternative heaters were available). But upstairs shower leaks into kitchen so major drawback - we were told it was working at the start of the week (despite the information folder saying not use it) but it was leaking by the end of the week. This needs pointing out in the booking information and I don’t think it was as we would not have booked to stay here had we known.
The owners are lovely. Accom is half new and great, half old and in need of update. New kitchen is well equipped. Beds good. Alarm needs moving as goes off each time the oven door opens, seats could do with update re-upholstery, and windows a bit draughty. Think a bit overpriced because of these things. But enjoyed watching the quail and it's quiet and peaceful.
We had a super week in Kilchoan, staying at Strathconon. A good size and well equipped kitchen. Would definitely book again.
Ardvaig is everything promised. It is very comfortable ;extremely well appointed;if a little tired. Excellent position with to die for views up the Sound to Ben More and we have endless photographs of Ben Hiant in the ever changing light conditions. Kilchoan is a lovely community. The Ferry Store are nearby Ardvaig (including fuel) and it is a pleasant walk to the Puffin cafe and hotel (which does good bar meals). There is a regular ferry to Tobermory and daily boat trips to Staffa. Portuairk and Sanna are a 20 minute drive but the best views of Eigg,Rhum and Sky were from Kilmory. Do not mis...more
The clean and spacious cottage is placed at the rim of an old volcano crater with lovely views over the cauldron. Sheep, cows, deer, sea eagles, cuckoos, and loads more wildlife can be viewed through the great panorama window. Spectacular Sanna beach is an easy stroll of only about 1km away. The only downside for digital natives might be that you'll find reception only at the telephone booth at the beach car park - but digital detox can be very rewarding :-) Our local contact, David and Moragh, are very friendly and were extremely helpful when we had some problems with our hire car. Fabulous week at Ian’s lodge. Wonderful location. Peaceful and tranquil in lovely surroundings. Short distance from sanna beach and ardnamurchan lighthouse. Well equipped and comfortable. Could do with some updating however I have no complaints the whole experience was amazing and would definitely return.
Jack's ranch wad a great place to stay I an unspoilt area. Well equipped and comfortable, with local shop. Ferry to mull and boat trips to staffa.
