This former 17th Century farmhouse and its substantial Victorian Extension have been tastefully renovated to provide a spacious dwelling that combines immense historical charm with modern luxury. Sleeping 12 people as standard and dining 20+, Hyning House has become very popular for family reunions and can be booked alongside our other cottages.

Beautiful luxury accommodation. A group of us booked Hyning House, comprising of two properties both of which were very comfortable and warm.
All in all a superb break.

Four families with young children, stayed at the Hyning house that links Hallbeck Cottage with the Farmhouse cottage. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and overall is very luxurious. The kitchen is well equipped with very nice cutleries and plates, cups etc. We cooked there every night. The beds are comfortable and bathrooms are perfect and clean towels, shampoo and soaps etc are provided. The house is very insulated with underfloor heating. The large dining room in Hallbeck cottage, overlooking the beautiful garden, enables us to have a good quality family time. The well- maintained garden and open space is very nice. The cottage is in a very nice countryside but still very accessible to Kendal and The lakes.

Richard and Jan, the hosts are the best- they are very friendly and patient. Prior to arrival, we had several requests including bed arrangement for the younger children and Richard was very helpful to make sure our stay is comfortable . Kelly the site manager is also very friendly.

We would definitely recommend ,definitely a nice place to stay especially for families .

After two years of Covid its just great that your four families were able to get away together. The gardens are looking beautiful and we are hoping for an equally special time away when our daughter gets married here in under 2 weeks time. It really is an amazing setting and something I'm sure we'll all remember for the rest of our lives. Extremely comfortable well maintained property in a stunning location. Lovely and warm inside throughout. Kitchen is well equipped. Beds are comfortable. Tastefully decorated. Everything including bathrooms very neat and tidy. We were a group with wide age ranges and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their stay.
