We had a great autumn half term break in the cottage. John and Christine provide a very attentive service and some lovely local treats to welcome you on arrival. The cottage is well fitted out, very clean and there was ample sleeping space for the 4 of us. It’s easy to find and no difficulties with parking. We chose it for proximity to the beach walking into Berwick and as a jump off point for day trips to Alnwick Castle ( Harry Potter and the gardens) and Holy Island. This cottage is ideally situated for exploring the beautiful Borders region.It is cosy and warm with all amenities readily to hand. The access to the first floor is via a spiral staircase, which some may find difficult. We hope to return in the not too distant future
The owners are lovely and very helpful from start to end with our booking.The apartment would be perfect for a weekend/short stay but we found for a week in the winter months when you have to take extra clothes/coats/boots and want to cook and eat in here there was not enough space for food and clothing and limited worktop space for food preparation . The bedroom has one double wardrobe behind the bedroom door with a bottom draw in it and a small dressing table with two small draws which are not very deep so ended up leaving things on the top as could not fit into the draws but it really needs...more
A very pleasant location, with friendly pub selling great food within yards of the property. Cottage was cosy and comfortable with everything we needed for a week's break. John and Christine were very helpful and were there to welcome us on our arrival. Welcome basket provided with local specialities. We had a great time, thanks.
