This stunning cottage is set overlooking Cleggan tower and 0.4 km to the beach. This romantic getaway property is furnished with an American influence using colour and furniture to create comfort and luxury. If you like walking or just like peace and quiet this is the place for you. Kids will love the freedom as there is no traffic and it’s a safe walk to the beach. Shops, restaurant, pub, horse riding and playground are a short drive to Cleggan village where you can catch the ferry to Inishbofin

Nice house & owner, location is remote.

The house is a lovely spacious house, we were 4 adults, teenager & baby and space wasn't an issue. We needed to call the owner to clarify location & they were very helpful & kind. The house itself is very very remote. It is a solid 10 minute drive from the village & the road is not safe to walk so thats not an option. The road to the house itself is just the width of one car so if you meet anything it means someone reversing to the closest gateway. These are not necessarily negatives I just would have preferred knowing in advance exactly how remote the house was. There are sheep wandering freely but the house is well fenced & gated. You can't see the beach from the house & the walk is not suitable for a buggy / pram so kids need to be old enough to walk to get there. Also the picture you are shown is the front of the house but you arrive to the back so it's a bit confusing, we didn't think we were at the right house. Nice house overall, nice area to sit outside but just be aware it really is very remote. ( and I am from the countryside so its not city girl thinking)

Location is very private with stunning landscape, yet only 10-15 mins drive from mini supermarket, restaurants, bars, island ferry and horse riding in Cleggan. About 25mins drive from Omey island....my favourite place in Ireland. House very well equipped for kids, games, DVDs, and beach toys. Kitchen well equipped too but oven not really hot enough for cooking - BBQ outside. Overall, a highly recommended property.

Get away from it all.

A lovely remote location, with safe swimming and fishing from the rocks, all within a 10 mins walk.
The crockery could be replaced, many were chipped. Otherwise the beds and pillows were comfortable. We were given plenty of turf for free which was a nice touch. I did think that the electricity and oil should have been included in the price but that is just my opinion and not a complaint.

Ideal house for small children.

We have 3 children under the age of 7. The house was so spacious and comfortable with lots of games provided for the children. It was a safe walk to the beach where the children thoroughly enjoyed the freedom etc.
We definitely would consider returning again.

The home and location was great.Regarding directions the picture shown is from the front, but you only see rear from road.Regarding cost for oil and gas far to high would cover my home for a month. It would be helpful if extra toilet roll was available..

This is a great house, really warm and very well appointed. It has 2 living rooms so would be great for a family (or 2 families sharing) . It is a little remote but that is what we wanted but just take this into account when choosing. I really have very little negative to say about the house except the following

1. The kitchenware were not clean when we arrived. It all looked clean but there were very greasy. To be fair, the owner - Martina said she had problems with the previous tenant. I would say that things were put in the dishwasher without any detergent - looked clean but no grease removed. However, this should have been caught before we arrived.
2. I thought that the cost of the Electricity and heating was a bit expensive - €75 for a week. We were not given the electricity or oil readings at the beginning of the stay, so we could not see exactly how much we had used.

All in all a great house and I would stay there again
