Sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms
Morse Cottage is set in a unique location, off the beaten track, surrounded by open countryside with gated access to the coastal path where there are panoramic views along this spectacular coastline including St Catherine's Lighthouse and Oratory.

A gem!

A special character home in a beautiful setting. We absolutely fell in love with the property and the area with the stunning views of the Island. Secluded but close to shops for supplies. We will definitely be staying at Morse Cottage again.
Thank you to the staff of Island Holiday Homes for their excellent service and communication!

Rather tired. Outside equipment - table, BBQ - hardly/not fit to use. Advertised microwave only arrived after much contact & 3 days of valiant efforts by agent. En suite toilet seat dangerously loose. All a shame given the location. A good recommendation would depend on a bit of basic smartening up - not rocket science. Some similar comments have been made by others, why no change?

We spent a relaxing week in this "cottage", small bungalow. My impression was that there was everything you could possibly need provided. If you want peace and quiet then this is for you. My husband loved its location but it wasn't for me. Even though its close to Niton ( 2 min drive), if you wish to walk there it is on country footpaths or the coastal path which takes 20 - 30 mins. It is accessed by a rough small trackway and not well signposted from the main road. Although it is very homely, it does need a bit of attention and updating. The sofa and chairs were comfortable but very tired and tatty, luckily i had taken some throws to cover them up. The bathrooms were ok although the baths need either replacing or a good scrub! The beds were comfortable and we all slept really well. The bunkbed room did smell very musty so we kept the door open to ventilate as there are not proper windows to open only a small one above the door. Not my taste in furnishings and too many pictures on walls everywhere but it was great to have a dishwasher and washing machine. It would have been nice if there was an area around the cottage kept mown for somewhere that children or a dog could play. I understand the need to keep a "wild meadow" but there was ample room around the surrounding countryside for this. The photographs advertising the cottage show it all cut but this wasn't the case until midweek when the neighbouring farmers cut it for hay. There is decking outside and car parking space. The outdoor furniture needs revamping too. We had lots of insects indoors, probably because of the decking, lots and lots of peabugs and an enormous cricket! Even though i wouldn't stay here again we still enjoyed our week on the lovely island.

Fantastic location in 10 acres of wildflower meadows. Sea views from the terrace adjoining the property and fantastic views out to sea over Niton Lighthouse just 50 yards from the edge of the property. We saw a pair of Peregrine falcons hunting who are nesting there and a buzzard regularly hovered over the property itself.

The history to the build having been a telecoms hub for passing ships is fascinating also and the conversion has been done sympathetically blending what used to be a utilitarian building into the landscape.

The decor and furniture is traditional, functional and homely and we had no issues with appliances at all during our stay. A unique property in a unique location. We’ll be back!

Morse Cottage is in a lovey location with plenty of room but the cottage we found to be very tired.
All the curtains require maintenance throughout the building and one set seemed to be running with moths.
We did leave a list of things on the dining table that we found e.g. no cereal bowls for breakfast (we ate out of kitchen bowls), the bottom tray of the dishwasher was broken and would not slide out - parts broken parts left in the fruit bowl, the ensuite toilet seat was broken on arrival, the iron did not work (no fuse), no toaster, no welcome pack with instructions and safety notes and no guest book.

We had a great stay at Morse Cottage which was pet friendly so ideal for our chocolate Labrador. The two bedroom property was spacious, clean and cosy with lots of windows and lovely views of the sea, meadows, hills. Very peaceful and only a few minutes walk to the costal path and the most magnificent views of the light house and sea. Only downside was you had to drive to the nearest shop / pub in Niton as a little too far to walk and no street lights if you were walking back to the property when it was dark.

Lovely situation.

There were 12 of us and a dog so both Morse Cottage and the Old Signal House were ideal as communicating door was left open for us.
One en suite shower in double bed room could have anti-mould spray applied round base of shower door and grouting of tiles.
This washroom could have had more attention. The toilet seat was loose and moved when you sat on it.
There was plenty of room.
