This property is in an ideal walking location for Edinburgh centre and two minutes walk from a small Sainsburys and Tescos. The house is very comfortable and clean with little extras supplied like tea and coffee. There are two lovely bathrooms, and a warm and cosy living area and kitchen with mod cons.
This was a great location in Edinburgh to use as a base for a vacation and for family visits. The house is very comfortable, well equipped and is located beautifully to get wherever you need to go whether it be on foot or by bus or whatever. We were made to feel welcome immediately and that just set the tone for a terrific visit to Edinburgh in general and Stockbridge in particular. The electronic information guide that was provided when the booking was completed was absolutely first class and very, very helpful. This is a great property.
Thanks for enabling us to find such a fantastic house. Everyone in our party of 11 commented on what a gem of a property it was. Good value for money.
What an amazing experience! Absolutely overwhelming! Everyone in our party had an unforgettable time! Brilliant!!!!!
We had a brilliant weekend at Reddish Manor. Plenty of space to relax, and to party, comfy bedrooms, large gardens, gorgeous kitchen (with absolutely everything you could possibly need!) and Garfield the owner was so helpful and amenable to anything we asked for. Everyone had a absolutely fabulous time! We would love to come again one day.
Our party consisted of 15 adults and 6 children and each and every one of us had a great time at Stuckgowan. The house was larger and more impressive, than our expectations had been from looking online at the images shown. The house itself was immaculate and the facilities were tremendous.... I could not recommend Stuckgowan any more highly!
My husband and I were married summer 2019 in Edinburgh, inviting family and close friends from Europe, the United States, and beyond. We had many requirements for the venue: open to parties, enough beds for 20, indoor and outdoor space, flexible check in and check out, and, of course, location. Drylaw House exceeds expectations in all categories. The restoration completed by the owners is a triumphant labor of love, and truly makes the house unforgettable. Renting and celebrating here, you get much more than you pay for — believe me. John and Nicki made us feel extremely welcome, responded to ...more
Loch Lomond was a lovely area for our annual family holiday(21 of us). The house is very well equipped and has masses of space. The children enjoyed playing on the little cars and in the swimming pool.the whole family walked, climbed Ben Nevis, ran, cycled, sailed, canoed and swam in and around the loch My only practical suggestion is to get the piano tuned, so that although it will always be honky tonk all the notes will sound (I was going to bring up a keyboard, but at the last minute had to change cars and hadn’t space for it) Thanks for a lovely venue for our holiday
Pros: close to nice restaurants, 10 minute walk to Prince street. Nice layout with 2 big bedrooms. One bedroom with two twin beds so great for kids. Really nice bathroom and shower. Excellent and we'll stocked kitchen. Owner very helpful and responsive. Cons: beds ok but a little firm. The bedrooms are in the basement so has steep stairs ( would be difficult if you have mobility issues). Take the secure parking for the extra charge, parking in Edinburgh is a pain.
Excellent location, accomation, facilities and service, which all made for a wonderful weekend celebrating my wifes birthday.
Comfortable stay lots of room in this central located mews house. Very quiet location but within walking distance of the city centre.
We had a family group ranging from age 3 to 90. The house was very well appointed and comfortable, re
Good communication during the booking process - house was even better than the pictures on the website. Great handover from the house keeper on arrival - very informative and helpful. Really well equipped house and was spotlessly clean. Ideal for our birthday celebrations - 20 guests.
Had the most wonderful stay @ the Gatsby for a family gathering. Our host was one special guy who made us feel so welcome. The house is trully spectatular and so beautiful a real credit to Alex's hard work to transform this once hotel to a wonderful home. The whole family felt so comfortable and relaxed. Alex had thought of everything, we wanted for nothing thankyou so much for making our family gathering the best ever
We stayed at the Drury for my husbands 60th birthday in October 2019 with family and friends. From the outset I was very impressed as was all the people I had invited. The house is amazing, bedrooms stunning, living areas fantastic, hot tub was a hit!! Everything you could ever want and need for a fabulous weekend at one of the most amazing properties. Special mention to Gregor who is just the most amazing House Manager. He is so welcoming, friendly and helped us so much. He is always available if you need him (which we did not) but just knowing that he is there is fantastic.
Perfect place to hold a hen weekend or even a weekend away with family, I would definitely recommend this to others. It really is as beautiful as it looks in the pictures. The train line is very close (as we were already advised) but it really wasn't an issue as you just get used too it and it is literally for a matter of seconds. All the rooms were perfectly presented and I will definitely keep in mind for other get togethers
A beautifull house with a good view over Oban. We were staying with two families and frieds (12) in the house and it was a marvellous vacation. Maybe the space in the kitchen good be bigger, because with 12 adults it was a little bit small, butt all the other things as rooms, bathrooms, garden, cleanliness, area etc. Almost everything. We want to thank the organisation. It is really a very good house to have a holiday like you are coming home. Scotland is so beautifull and the people are great. Greetings Jacqueline
This is a fantastic house, with everything you could possibly need! The house is even more impressive in real life Would highly recommend, and we are looking to re-book for next year! :)
This was a lovely clean and modern house for our hen party. Everything we needed was in the house and garden. The owners have put a partition fence across the garden splitting it into two halves so the garden isn't as pictured. Beds were comfortable and there was lots of storage space. The surround sound music system in the living areas was great. There are straightforward instructions in a welcome pack in the kitchen and plenty of fridge space for large groups. The hot tub is located over the driveway a bit separated from the house but it was defiantly a bonus. House parties were very communi...more
This was our 8th time visiting Baille Hill House. The property is perfectly situated for the city centre and close to many other places of interest. The house is warm, clean and well stocked with crocks and pots. Some of the amenities in the house are a little tired and could do with updating. The showers and the upstairs bathroom are not very user friendly. Small improvements such as bigger towels, hooks on bedroom doors, working TVs and maybe a smart TV in main lounge wouldn't come amiss. The house although lovely has seen very few significant improvements in the last few years.
We booked the house for a hen weekend. The location was perfect.. a ten minute walk into the city centre, extremely comfortable, spacious, excellent kitchen space and living space, very clean throughout, parking permits for two cars. Also, excellent service from the owner, house parties company and car taker. No complaints, I will recommend and I would absolutely book again.
A wonderful spot to watch the river activity. Efficient boat service from the Ferry Boat inn. All necessities and utensils enabled us to have a relaxing week with the family. The only slight issue (which we were aware off) was parking was tricky and a steep walk.
We had a long weekend away at Foldyard House with family and friends staying over the August bank holiday weekend. The cottage itself is beautiful and looks to have been tastefully restored and extended - its huge! It has great facilities (really good parking, seriously impressive kitchen, dining and lounge areas) with the bonus of a well maintained hot tub, sauna and pool table. What sets this place apart though is the location - with a bit of research (there is a good welcome book actually which contains a lot of this), the house is around 20 mins from Bridlington which given the weather we...more
We found the house was clean. It was very sparse and not comfortable. We had asked for a cot and high chair. We only got the cot. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were good. Disappointing for the price we paid
