Badgers Hollow Lodge is located on White Cross Bay at Grasmere 30. This is a contemporary 2-bedroom self-catering lodge with 2 double beds and lovely outdoor hot tub. The lodge is located in a cul-de-sac which is close to the clubhouse. There is a real home away from home feel to the lodge and it enjoys a wall mounted flat screen television with a DVD player, surround sound music system, Micro CD/Radio player, Wii and basic handsets (please bring your own games). The lodge has an American style fridge/freezer with its own water cooler and ice maker. Dog friendly - 2 small/medium dogs accepted.

Thank you for your brief review of Badgers Hollow. As your comments are rather vague and at odds with what the vast majority of guests say about their stay at this very popular lodge we have asked you to clarify them. These will then be passed on to the owner for their reference. Badgers Hollow provides great value, comfortable and modern accommodation and is a very popular lodge in which to stay.

Had a brilliant time staying in Badgers Hollow Lodge at White Cross Bay. Felt very comfy and homely. The park is in a great location and the lodge had everything we needed, all the mod cons plus the option of a bath or shower, the fridge was big and spacious to store our food and there was a wii and other games to play with too. Really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

What did you enjoy most about your stay?
Loved the location of the park and the comfort of the lodge.

What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests?
We went on a boat ride on Lake Windermere, the port being only a short walk

It was a bit of a gamble booking this lodge as I've never done one before and not knowing what to expect. However, the previous reviews gave a very good account and they were right.

The lodge was well appointed, clean and well equipped. Having an ensuite bathroom was bonus. Also having a hot tub was fantastic especially after doing a lot of fell walking. My only gripe was that there was an odd smell that from the hot tub area - vegetation and chlorine mix. This came into the lodge near the cupboard by the back door. It was quite noticeable when first entering the lodge. Also the dogs didn't think much of it either. I've made Lake District Lodge park aware of this in another feedback form and they will look into it.

The lodge is in a nice location and we didn't hear much noise when staying there. A walk down to the Marina is well worth it and the view is stunning early in the morning especially as the fells had snow on them. There's also a woodland walk that it good for walking dogs in the morning and plenty of dog poo bins.

Ambleside is only a few miles away and most areas like Hawkshead, Coniston are not too far away by car.

The whole holiday exceeded my expectations and I would recommend staying at the lodge park and the lodge I had.

What did you enjoy most about your stay?
Love the hot tub and great lodge

What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests?
If you are fit and like walking then do the Old Man at Coniston. The views are well worth the climb up.

Struggled to get out bearing to the lodge at first at wasn’t very well sign posted on site. But the lodge itself, was very well presented, very clean and tidy. Amazing hot tub, would certainly visited again or recommend it. Not many places to walk the dog. Had maintenance people turn up trying to take paint off the lodge early hours Monday morning which we hadn’t been told or aware of.

What did you enjoy most about your stay?
The silence and being able to relax.

What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests?
Great place for walks outside the site, not many places in site though.

A lovely lodge for a much needed rest! Myself, husband and two children and of course our cockapoo had a lovely stay at badgers hollow. The heating and lights were on for our arrival, the lodge was immaculate with dvd’s, games and books available. Great location for exploring the lakes and we loved relaxing in the hot tub in the evening. We had contact numbers should we have had any issues (which we didn’t) easy to book and good correspondence from company. I would definitely book again.

What did you enjoy most about your stay?
The beautiful lodge, family time and exploring the lakes.

We spent the weekend at Badgers Hollow and loved every minute of it . It was so cosy, clean, warm and the hot tub was amazing.

The lights that come on around the lodge at night time are so pretty - it was so lovely - we had a chilled and relaxed time - the lodge was so comfy and very close walking distance to the main clubhouse which was great.

Would highly recommend this lodge to anyone and especially if you have a dog as we were able to take our springer spaniel.

What did you enjoy most about your stay?
We just love the Lakes but the lodge was so peaceful and the hot tub amazing !

Had a great stay at badger hollow this year. Would definitely recommend it to family and friends. Great location, walking distant to some villages. A few areas for improvement would be the the shower was weak (lacking pressure) and Wi-Fi wasn't great at lodge but you could go up to the main centre but these are very minor in comparison to the overall stay. The use of the hot tub was a huge bonus.

What did you enjoy most about your stay?
Great locals walks, great family entertainment

From the moment we arrived on the park we were delighted, it was what were looking for, a few days of quiet on our way home from Wales. The staff on site were lovely and helpful, the lodge was great everything we needed it felt like home. Our girls had a great time ESP the hot tube. It was good with the decking being able to leave doors open and know that our dog wouldn't be able to escape. The lodge was lovely and clean for our arrival and a perfect location for trips into Bow-ness and Ambleside we enjoyed exploring the Rydal caves too. We have fallen in love and hope to return in the future.

Badgers Hollow was a home from home with a well equipped kitchen. If required there was plenty of reading matter and dvds. Our hot tub was maintained three times during our 7 night stay which is excellent as it was well used. My only gripe is the hot water was very sparidic which made having a shower very long winded even altering boiler didn’t suffice.
I definitely would and have recommended Badgers Hollow to my friends.

First time booking to stay in a lodge and it didn’t disappoint, in fact surpassed my expectations completely. Very much home from home, the only downside if I was to be picky was the size of the kitchen and lack of work space to cook. The bedrooms the lounge and bathrooms were spot on. Our 4 year old loved it and it really felt homely, from the corner sofa to the TV and media equipment! The absolute knock out for us was the Hot Tub, literally we were in it every eve after our walks and in the morning too! Really made our stay that little bit extra special. Would highly recommend this lodge and management of it. We had an issue with the oven on a Friday night and they were out within 30mins to sort for us. Fabulous customer service! Will definitely come again and recommend to friends! Thank you!!

Absolutely loved this lodge. The decor the vibe, just everything was great. Had no trouble getting there and it was only a 10 minute drive from bowness. The site was on the lake too so it was lovely for a late stroll. The hot tub was great and private, with fantastic ambiance. They decorated for Christmas too which made it even better. The tv and sound system was lovely and the beds were so comfy. I loved the addition of an en suite and would definitely stay here again. Could not fault in any way.

It was a very nice peaceful few days away really did not want to come home. The lodge was nice, clean and well equipped a dishwasher would have been nice so we could relax more. The only thing that was needed was a mop for the wet room we had to roll towels up to stop the water running into the bedroom.

I did like the lodge but I would look at one of the larger ones next time as they seem to have more access room around the hot tubs. We didn't have a grill either in the oven, if there is one we could not use as all the symbols have worn off around the controls. Access to a movie channel or Netflix would have been nice even if you had an additional charge.

I took my mum away for a few days after we lost my Dad 3 months ago so we were not interest in going out which most people would probably do it was a chill out holiday, don't get me wrong we had a really great time can't wait till next time, hot tub aarrr!!

Absolutely wonderful stay in this beautiful lodge! Although the weather was not too kind during the week, coming back to such a lovely lodge with the added benefit of the hot tub was superb! Very quiet location on the park which made for a lovely relaxing week. Everything we could possibly need was provided, including the ice dispenser in the huge American style fridge freezer! Would highly recommend this lodge and we will definitely be returning. We would also recommend the on site restaurant - good food and good customer service too.

What did you enjoy most about your stay?
The hot tub

Had a fantastic 3 night at Badgers Hollow, the lodge itself was immaculate and it had everything you need for a weekend away. There is a lot to do in the surrounding areas, Windermere, Bowness, etc with a lot of different restaurants to choose from. The hot tub was a bonus and a treat after a long days walking. We even got round to using the Health Choice Club, swimming, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room which was amazing. Overall had an amazing weekend, will definitely be booking back up for next year.

What did you enjoy most about your stay?
Relaxation and the hot tub.

Had a week at Badgers Hollow with my wife and our three year old daughter. The lodge itself is finished to a decent standard and felt comfortable and cosy. My daughter loved it. The site itself is well situated with some ok facilities. However, the bar/restaurant is too small to accommodate all the holiday makers on the site even though the staff do their utmost. The multi games area also has a very restrictive net ceiling (presumably to keep the leaves off it in the autumn) so it is impossible to play even a friendly game of tennis. In short, nice lodge, nice staff but the site itself needs some investment. Given the extortionate cost they are charging for buying a lodge, they must surely have the money.

What did you enjoy most about your stay?
The hot tub!

What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests?

Thank you for your review, Matthew and we were delighted to hear you had a relaxing break at Badgers Hollow. The lodge is equipped with all home comforts for guests to enjoy a very comfortable, and relaxing stay (lovely to know your daughter thought so too) And of course the hot tub is amazing! How better to unwind of an evening? As booking agents to this privately owned lodge the park facilities and services are something outside of our control, although having said that we appreciate you letting us know and we will pass on your comments to the park management for their reference. The nearby towns, Bowness-on-Windermere and Ambleside, have an excellent choice of eateries and bars and with a good atmosphere. Definitely worth trying. Badgers Hollow offers superb contemporary accommodation for families or couples looking to escape to the Lakes. An ideal holiday retreat.

We enjoyed a week at Badgers Hollow in June as a family of 4 (2 children aged 9 & 11). We were lucky with the weather, so were able to sit out on the decking, using the patio furniture provided. The hot tub was fabulous and we used it every day. The wet room off the main bedroom was great, but we could have done with a mop to dry it afterwards and prevent wet feet onto the carpet. There was also a full bath in the other bathroom. We also loved the american fridge with ice dispenser and generally found the kitchen fully equipped and happily cooked in it. The beds and sofas were comfortable and I even found a good book to read off the bookshelf in the lodge. There was plenty of wardrobe space and hangers, plus space to store outdoor coats and boots in the hallway. The washing machine was also another much appreciated addition to the lodge. it is in a quiet location on the park, so no problems sleeping at night.

What did you enjoy most about your stay?
The hottub

We arrived at 3pm on 26th June for a 4 night break. Check in was easy and fast. The lodge upon first sight was fantastic. It was actually better than the photos when we booked it.
The hot tub was ready to use that evening which was great. The fencing around the tub could be a little more private but that doesn't spoil it at all.
There's everything you need in the lodge and the huge fridge with ice maker was an unexpected surprise and a definite bonus.
No dishwasher but I would prefer the fridge to that anyway.
Lovely decking with fab furniture but we only got to sit out there once due to Lake District weather.
We highly recommend Badgers Hollow to anyone who is looking for a lodge holiday and we will definitely visit again!

What did you enjoy most about your stay?

Amazing week spent in the Lake District! Would recommend this holiday park to anyone ranging from couples to large family's.

Advantages:
>Clean and tidy (the actual park and lodge)
>Reception was fast service
>Staff very friendly
>Lodge in good condition and hot tub
>A lot of activities to do for everyone
>Nemoruos walk ways to explore
>Overall a fantastic experience and we will be coming back next year.

The only two disadvantages is the park map as it's not very clear to understand where your lodge is, also some sign posts were missing in the park to direct you to where you need be.

Fantastic Holiday though 4.5 out of 5 :)

What did you enjoy most about your stay?
The lodge itself and the many walkways the Lake District has to offer, the best bit was the hot tub after a long hard day of activities.

What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests?
Boat ride across the lakes and explore all the walking experiences.

After a number of years had passed since our last visit to the Lakes my wife recently returned to stay at Badgers Hollow. The property is in good order and well presented with most things that we needed provided. The only item that the property needs that it doesn't have is a tumble dryer. Whilst the weather was excellent during our stay, the Lake District is well known for heavy rainfall a tumble is a must. The property also needs a much stronger wifi signal, the signal at the moment is very weak. Apart from those two minor criticisms we were very happy with the property and would recommend it to others.

What did you enjoy most about your stay?
Very quiet location.

What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests?
Boat trip on Windermere.

Thank you for the review, Nigel. We were so pleased to hear you returned to this beautiful lodge once again. Comfortable, cosy and well equipped for a relaxing break in the Lakes. Although a launderette is onsite we will pass on your suggestion for a tumble dryer to the lodge owners for their consideration – thank you. Similarly, as the Park provide the WiFi we will pass on your comments for their information. For some the chance to escape and unwind in peace and tranquillity is often just what is needed, and the Lake District is such an amazing and stunning part of the world. Thank you for recommending the lodge to others and letting us know you enjoyed your stay. We will be very happy to welcome you both again in the near future.

We couldn't of asked for anything more. So clean and tidy and well equipped.
Maybe the site could do with a few more sign posts as it took us about 15 mins to find the lodge as there don't seem to be sign posts apart from reception/exit.
We'll definitely be back :)

Would highly recommend this lodge, myself my husband, daughter and dog all stayed for my husbands birthday and outlr 1st year wedding anniversary weekend. We couldnt belive how lovely the lodge was, all the little touches like the guest book for example, the hot tub was amazing and we lived the ensuite bathroom you can tell the lodge has been finished with very high standards. The only downfall we had personally which wasnt the lodge owners fault but the park itself doesnt allow you to leave your dog unattended in the lodges so we wernt able to go out for tea or breakfast at the onsight restaurant but they do have takeaway on anything they sell so we did still manage to have a meal we didnt have to cook just at the lodge instead. They had all kitchen essentials so we managed to cook food as if we was in our own kitchen. Highly recommended. Thank youu will hopefully be staying again.

What did you enjoy most about your stay?
High finish throughout and hottub

Thank you for your review, Kirsty. It’s lovely to hear you had a double celebration and chose to spend it at Badgers Hollow, an excellent choice. A very cosy lodge that is fully equipped for a relaxing stay - a real home from home with the bonus of a hot tub. Although dogs are not allowed to be left in the lodge unattended, the Lake District is very dog friendly and there are many bars, cafes and restaurants close to the Park that allow dogs – with that said we were pleased to hear you enjoyed the takeaway service on site as well as making good use of kitchen, it is indeed very well equipped. Very kind of you to highly recommend this lodge, thank you. We would be delighted to have you stay again in the near future.

Absolutely loved our time at Badgers hollow, only regret it that we did not book for a week!!!
Some lovely walks for our 2 boxer dogs (would had an absolute ball) and also plenty to do for the kids too as we have a 3 year old daughter.
We used the free pass to Choices health club and took her swimming and I would also recommend brockholes just up the road (we walked it as it was only about a mile away) The outdoor play area up there was amazing, but the rest of it was shut as it was late on a sunday (will definitely be back to experience that properly)
The lodge itself was so homely and comfortable and especially loved the hot tub after a busy day walking. The TV signal wasn't the best at times but we would just put a film on.
We definitely be back in the future, loved it!

What did you enjoy most about your stay?
The break

What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests?
Brockholes

Thank you for your review and lovely comments, Michelle. We were delighted to hear the lodge met all your requirements and you had an enjoyable stay, boxer dogs included! Choices Health Club is brilliant for children, lovely pool that is usually quiet and only a couple of minutes from the Park, as is Brockhole. The Park is in a great location with so many things to do nearby and Badgers Hollow is modern and stylish with the added bonus of a hot tub - A popular choice for those looking for a holiday in the Lakes. We are so pleased to hear you will be returning in the future, perhaps next time for a week?

My husband and our best friends absolutely loved our weekend at badgers hollows! It really was exactly what we needed. The surroundings & views were stunning but it was the actual lodge that made our weekend. The lodge was cosy, beautiful and practical inside... the two spacious double bedrooms were lovely and the bonus was that each couple had their own bathrooms! The lodge was so comfortable infact we barely left it just for our one hike up orresr head (defo worth going up there- stunning stunning views!). A beautiful, relaxing weekend & can not wait to come back!

What did you enjoy most about your stay?
Everything! The late 5pm check out was the perfect added bonus as it meant we got to have the much needed lie in on the Sunday!

What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests?

I booked a stay at Badger's Hollow as a surprise for my girlfriend's birthday, and suffice to say we were not disappointed! The lodge is neatly set in a secluded part of the camp and is not overlooked at all. On entering the lodge it was nice and bright, and very clean. The bedrooms were both a good size and the master had an en-suite wetroom with overhead shower that was lovely. Every room was decorated nicely. In the kitchen there was a selection of teas, coffees and sweet treats, which was a really nice touch to the lodge. The owners also provide robes and slippers which were also very nice (albeit the slippers too small for someone with size 10 feet!). We only really used the lodge overnight for the 3 days that we were there, but it was always nice to come back to a warm and inviting lodge at the end of a day's walking, and the hot tub was perfect for unwinding. The views of the sky when relaxing in the hot tub at night were wonderful, as there is next to no light pollution around the lodge. This really made the holiday for us.
All in all, a very nice little lodge that is private, cosy, and perfect for a weekend away... or even longer! We will certainly be coming back given the chance.

What did you enjoy most about your stay?
Hot tub and views of the night sky

What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests?
For the fitter guest, climbing Scafell Pike. Just don't do it in winter!

Beautiful lodge in a beautiful location.
Cant say a single thing i was unhappy with.
The owners of the lodge have made it extremely comfortable with some nice touches including games books robes etc.
Although we had great weather so never needed to stay indoors and the hot tub just put the cherry on the cake.
First class will definitely go back

Our second time booking with lake district lodges and our first time staying at badgers hollow, the lodge was lovely and clean and comfortable and the little touches like complimentary slippers and dressing gowns and toiletries made us feel very welcome, the hot tub was great after a day's walking and although a little overlooked by next door it didn't put us off using it twice every day, there is nothing negative I can say about the lodge and will be booking it again for next year, also I would like to thank Simon at Lake district lodges for texting us on a Sunday to let us know our keys had been found!! Many thanks

What did you enjoy most about your stay?
Peacefull surrounding's and the hot tub

What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests?

Everything about badgers hollow was perfect, from the comfy corner sofa to the relaxing hot tub. On site facilities are great. Perfect for kids as well. So much to do and really good location. Windermere town is 10 minute drive. Or 5 min walk out side the complex there is the lakes vistor centre or opposite direction there is a few shops and restaurants. We will definitely be returning.

Relaxing in the hot tub

We really enjoyed our stay at white cross bay in badgers Hollow. It was very comfortable, quiet and in a good location. The lodge was really modern with lots of great items from books/games. Cinema surround sound and a Nintendo wii, so great for couples or families. It is a great size also the decking area is quite big too. The hot tub was amazing and really easy to use/operate. The only minor issue we had and it was very minor. Is that the hot tub wasn't completely private. It was a different hot tub and fencing that was in the picture. When you got in it to relax it was dead opposite another lodge front door. But with some good positioned extra sheets we took that we placed over the trellis fencing surround the hot tub sorted the problem.
Over all it was excellent. Defiantly worth every penny and we can't wait to go back and stop again.

What did you enjoy most about your stay?
The hot tub and location.

What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests?
The lake cruises and the steam train.

Fiona - Lake District Lodge Holidays replied more than 1 year ago
Thank you for your review and kind comments, Luke. We were so pleased to hear you had a very enjoyable stay. Our apologies that the photos of the hot tub were not accurate - the hot tub is an upgrade and due to health and safety screening is now not allowed on the park. Occasionally lodges are slightly different to the photos as they are not always updated as quickly as the changes. We will adjust the website accordingly - Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused. The lodge is very well equipped to cater for families or couples, and the lodge owners have also added some extra little touches to make the holiday just that little bit more special. Not forgetting the hot tub - perfect after a day out exploring. Delighted to hear you will be returning. We look forward to welcoming you again to Badgers Hollow (next time with your loyalty discount!).

The lodge was quiet and peaceful when we stayed. Although it was not in the main children's holidays. It was well equipped to a high standard and nothing felt "cheap". My motto is, why would you pay to stay somewhere less than your own home ??
We were about an hours walk into Bowness which was just enough to rustle the appetite for a coffee and cake.
Although our weather was not outstanding we had one very sunny warm day so we took advantage of the hot tub which was super. On the other two days it was cloudy but we busied ourselves at Coniston and Windermere so the weather did not hinder us.
As gym users my husband , son and his wife were all disappointed with the gym, unfortunately we did not have time to visit Choices to compare.
We would come again, the leisure staff were lovely and friendly but I would not pay to use the site's leisure facilities.
We went with our son and his wife who have been married just 10 months and the lodge did not feel cramped and the en-suite gave us privacy so we did not feel we were under each others feet.

What did you enjoy most about your stay?
White Cross Bay location. Family time

What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests?
We went to Ulverston to visit the Buddhist Temple. It was amazing and free. The lakes can be expensive.

Thank you very much for your review and for awarding us top marks on all aspects of your stay, Pauline. We are so pleased to hear you had an enjoyable stay at Badgers Hollow. Our lodge aims to provide a unique experience and we are thrilled that we were able to exceed your expectations on this occasion. That aside we note your comment about the gym on site and although this is something outside of our control we will pass it on to the park management for their consideration. We look forward to your next stay and are sure you will find Choices Health Club a superb alternative - it has an excellent and very well equipped gym. The lodge is a super choice for a family or a couple as it has plenty of space to relax, and the owners have added some lovely touches with great attention to detail.

Lovely lodge that obviously has owners that care that you enjoy your holiday.

Everything is catered for in the lodge i.e. iron, slippers, robes, and it is in a very good condition and well placed in the park.

The hot tub is nice though it is not as private as the images on the website make out as the bamboo fence blew down previously. However, some well placed towels on the new fence serves just a well.

If you are looking for the BBQ stand to place your disposable, it is a paving slab on the floor, which is not a problem - it just took a sec to figure out that that was what it was for.

The park itself is nice and clean, with two small parks for children and a restaurant that serves Harvester type food, though they could do with some more staff, the wait for service/food is usually awful.

Unfortunately, we had to leave early due to a medical emergency, but I would stay in the lodge again without hesitation. The surrounding area is beautiful, and the park itself is well placed for touring the lakes.

What did you enjoy most about your stay?
BBQ on the decking, and scenic drive through the lakes.

What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests?
Windemere boat trip to Lakeside and aquarium.

Thank you very much for leaving a review and for the great ratings, Neil. We were sorry to hear you had to leave early, we do hope all is now well. The owners will be delighted you enjoyed your time at the lodge, as are we. They take pride in delivering a first class service by anticipating the needs of their guests and having excellent attention to detail. We are so pleased you were fully satisfied with the results. Lovely to hear you took a boat trip, very relaxing and calming and with some wonderful scenery along the way. And the aquarium is superb and in a beautiful setting by the lake. We would be delighted for you to return to Badgers Hollow, it is a lovely lodge to escape to complete with some of the finer touches.

Can't say enough about the park site and the beautiful surrounding areas. While away we spent a day in Bowness which was a stunning little place. but remember that some streets are a little on the steep side . The park itself is really nice but we didn't enjoy the food on offer. Badgers hollow is a great little property and very well kept . I would strongly recommend this place for a trip to the lake district and surrounding areas .

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, James. Your ratings are great to see and we are delighted to hear you had such a good time. The lodge is in a great location for exploring the beautiful area and Bowness is no exception. A picturesque little town on the shores of Lake Windermere, admittedly a little on the steep side although it is what makes the Lakes so special and what amazing views! and plenty of restaurants to try. We are delighted you chose Badgers Hollow, a lovely lodge having that little extra touch of robes and slippers, perfect after a dip in the hot tub. We are very pleased to hear you will recommend us, thank you.

Perfect first holiday with our little boy who celebrated his 2nd birthday whilst we were there :) lodge owners even left us presents ... very thoughtful! Lodge was really lovely inside, comfortable with everything you needed, hot tub was great fun and convenient to be able to park outside. Great day trips really close by and we had lovely sunny afternoons to relax outside, in the forest and by the marina. Called the customer service number once, answered straight away (even on bank holiday) and resolved with visit in less than an hour. Couldn't have wished for more and would definitely recommend to others. Thank you badgers hollow for lots of lovely memories x

My wife and I + our Vinny(the Pug) loved the lodge. It went beyond our expectations and we could not fault anything about it. It was peaceful and quiet and made the ideal break for us. The location was central to all the areas we had planned to visit and see. The only point I would make is that the site being claimed as dog friendly but you could not take your dog into the bar area on site, whereas the locations ie pubs, shops, museums, coffee bars we visited throughout the Lake District welcomed dogs.
Overall a great lodge and location and we will definitely be back in the future.

A lovely warm and cosy lodge and well cared for by the owners who obviously want their guests to have a good relaxing holiday , we had a lovely quiet and relaxing weekend and would thoroughly recommend a visit to Badgers Hollow at White Cross Bay and a dip in their hot tub if you need to unwind and relax as well.
No need to leave the site if you don't want too as there are good on site facilities and a shop that sells newspapers but if you do want to see the sights in the Lake district this is an ideal central location for doing so.

I take my dogs all over for holidays and always put them first. The dog exercise area was not easy to find or signposted and when you did finf THE ONLY AREA they where aloud OFF the lead it was a 2 minute dirt track through the trees. Dogs where not permitted in the bar/lounge area when most hotels, bars ,restaurants and shops in Bowness and Windermere gladly welcome them in. So many rules about what the dogs are NOT aloud to do it a wonder why they advertise as DOG FREINDLY!!! If you are not aloud to leave them in the lodges at any time alone how are you expected to use the on site facilities. Very disapointed .
Thankfully we had a great time and took him in the car every day to places he could actually enjoy. will not be back for this reason alone, which is a shame because the lodge was lovely and an ideal location in the heart of the lakes.

This was our second visit to white cross bay and we again throughly enjoyed it, the most relaxing place!
The lodge itself was very comfortable and cosy. The hot tub was great. Definitely a great place to get away from it all and relax!

Thank you for your brief review of Badgers Hollow following your recent stay, Nigel. We were sorry to hear you were not happy with the standard of cleanliness of the lodge and apologise for this. This is most unusual as can be seen from other reviews for the lodge. We have had separate correspondence about this and appreciate you clarifying a few things so they can be addressed with the housekeeping team. Badgers Hollow is a very popular, comfortable lodge with a lovely hot tub to add to the experience of staying there.

Our first visit to the Lake District was everything we could have wished for. The lodge was the perfect location and central to all of the places we had intended to visit. The lodge provided all of our needs and the hot tub a great success and very welcome at the end of our first day out.. Sadly the hot tub failed to work after that, but we were generously recompensed by the company who dealt with the situation competently and sympathetically. We will definitely be returning and have no hesitation in recommending Badgers Hollow to all of our friends.
As it was the middle of May the weather was cold but luckily it was dry and in no way prevented us from visiting the surrounding lakes. All in all we were really pleased with the lodge and the locality.

What did you enjoy most about your stay?
The high tech lodge and the location

What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests?
The nearby Visitors Centre was within walking distance and the gardens well worth a visit. As

This was our second stay at Badgers Hollow as the hot tub did not work properly the first time we were offered a reduced stay. Second time round the hot tub was perfect and certainly made the stay more comfortable.

The site is great for families, we had 2 young children with us and they loved the play park and pool.
The cabin itself is very secure for children and the decking gives a lot of space for them to play safely.

We look forward to returning in the future.

What did you enjoy most about your stay?

We had a fantastic time thank you, ideal lodge for a family. The facilities in the lodge were excellent and well maintained. Wifi was a little unpredicable but we survived. It was excellent being able to use the swimming pool and park facilities free of charge and the hot tub was amazing. The only thing I would say that let down our stay was the beds, unfortunately they were both really uncomfortable as had lumpy springs and in much need of replacement so we didn't sleep great. This is only negative comment we could say about this lodge and it was a shame as everything else was perfect!

Upon our arrival last Friday we both said to each other Wow what a great place.
The welcome in the reception was spot on, our log cabin when we saw it was OMG this looks awesome and it didn't disappoint at all.
The plus was the Hot tub, superb and did we cane it. We will defo come again to White Cross Bay and maybe in the same Badgers Hollow because as you say its a great place to relax and take onboard what is there to be seen.
It must be a brill place more so in the summertime but that does not take away our stay at all with it being October.
Have told loads of folk at work and when they saw our pics on facebook that showed it all the more so.

Thanks a great time and see you all again.

Pleased to note you enjoyed your stay at Badgers Hollow. We were surprised to hear you had cleaned (and thank you!) but we don't ask guests to do this merely to leave things tidy and empty bins. We would love to give guests longer to stay at the lodge but the housekeeping teams only have a short window to get things ready for arrivals from 3pm. As you mention the lodge is great and much enjoyed by all who stay there.

Really pleased you enjoyed your stay at Badgers Hollow, Owen. Sounds like it was much needed! It's a great base to explore all the local attractions as well as heading off onto the nearby fells.

this was a lovely lodge, well presented and had everything you would need. the site was busy but very quiet we never used the onsite facilities as we were having a family get together but we did venture out on the sunday and had a great day out.

Great location for families. The pool was nice and warm and the children's play area's are very good.
The cabin is well equipped with a fantastic fridge that has an ice machine.
The decked outside area is perfect for young children as all access points are locked gates.
Our only negatives were that the hot tub was not working properly which I am assured has now been fixed and that there was dog hair on the carpet that ended up on your clothes if you sat on the floor.

What did you enjoy most about your stay?
The en-suite shower and on site facilities

What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests?
walk to Ambleside and ferry back

Thank you for the review of your recent stay at Badgers Hollow and glad you found it a nice location. We appreciate you pointing out a couple of negatives which we have addressed. Please accept our apologies for the lodge not being as clean as it should have been. The owners have also now installed a brand new hot tub as a number of faults were discovered when it was serviced. This will make the stay at Badgers Hollow even more enjoyable.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Badgers Hollow. Very clean, comfortable and homely. Chilling in the hot tub with a glass of wine after a hard days mountain biking was exactly what we needed. Overall a very relaxing stay and we look forward to returning in the near future.
