pheasants nest is a tastefully furnished lodge. . well laid out and the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in..we would highly recommend this lodge for a comfortable pleasant stay . in fact ive already booked it for next xmas.
Fantastic lodge, brilliant surroundings. ...........................................................................
We had a lovely second Christmas break staying Friday to Monday . Lodge was beautiful and lovely decor. Was great to have a Christmas tree up and trimmings in my favourite colour! Located a short walk from the club house and restaurant it was perfect. All the equipment/ kitchen utensils we needed was available including hairdryers and fan. We used the hot tub several times during our stay and was lovely and relaxing . Would definitely stay again.
Peaceful, comfortable place making it a perfect little get away for the weekend, not too far away from local pubs and a town to do a spot of shopping
Just back from Beech grove lodge lovely clean warm lodge best I have stayed at.everything you could need for a great stay.
Perfect location of this beautiful lodge, spotlessly clean with everything you could want. Weather was terrible but that didn't matter as we needed a quiet break. Pub onsite was lovely with good pub grub, we will definitely be booking again and cant wait to go back.
We stayed in Fallbarrow Glade Lodge for New Year, The lodge is immaculate and a real home from home. The lodge is equiped with everything you would need from kitchen equipment to a full Sky package and even an Alexa. The lodge furnishing are beautiful and there is plenty of room for six adults. Would not hesitate to return and would recommend Fallbarrow Glade Lodge to anyone.
Great location on the lakeshore, close to Ambleside and Windermere. Grasmere in striking distance also. Accomodation was absolutly fantastic could not have wished for better, very comfortable and well equipt. Christmas tree was a nice touch too.
Very nice clean cabin far enough away to be quiet but close enough to everything so that you didn’t feel isolated. Lots of mod cons. Would be good for short or long stays.
Lovely Lodge in a relaxing location. Everyone we spoke/came across from booking staff to the park staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. Beautiful views of the hills from every window. All facilities were brilliant and the fact that we could bring our 2 dogs made the week. Would thoroughly recommend.
It was wonderfull always is and thats why we keep coming back the cabin is always beautifull and clean
Lovely short break, Elder Lodge exceeded our expectations, inside was immaculate with plenty of space and so dog friendly with everything you need provided for your dog which is great. Our second stay at Limefitt as it is so well located. Cant wait to return!
We unfortunately shared our weekend with storm Ciara but the lodge was so warm and cosy that what was going on outside didn’t matter. It was spotlessly clean with everything you could need provided. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was excellent with quality products provided. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to spend another week there later in the year. We can thoroughly recommend High Borrans and our dog loved it too.
Last year we stayed in the Shepherd’s Hut but this year we stayed in a log cabin. Both were enjoyable experiences but we appreciated the extra space in the cabin. Extremely well appointed and in excellent condition. A first class base for exploring the delights of this part of the Lake District.
Amazing lodge, so clean and had absolutely everything we needed. Hot tub was fantastic and we had a brilliant time. Storm Ciara hit and the roads around the area outside of the park flooded and cut short our day out on Sunday, thankfully we had the wonderful lodge to go back to and and relax! Definitely will be back and would highly recommend the lodge and the customer service we received. Many thanks.
My husband and I couldn't have enjoyed our stay more. The lodge was fabulous, it has everything we needed and was spotless. We stay in the lakes alot, lodges and holiday homes and camping; and this had to be one of the nicest stays yet! Thanks Cathy for making our lodge so cosy and comfortable. We didn't want to leave. The dog enjoyed it too. She loved running about on the decking and all the walks. We had quite a bit of rain, but in the lakes there is no such thing as bad weather..just inappropriate clothing! We stuck on our waterproofs and had some lovely walks straight from the property. ...more
The holiday was most enjoyable from the help we received at the time of booking to actually staying in the Lodge which had all the facilities we needed together with great views and peace and quiet. We were lucky with the weather and the first thing we did on arrival was to sit on the decking and enjoy the sunshine. After a hectic summer this was the perfect break.
What an amazing lodge. We had such a lovely Christmas in this lodge. So relaxing & views that cannot be beaten. On arrival easy check in. Large spacious lodge. Very clean. (Have never stayed in an LDLH lodge that isn't. ) Couple of issues that were resolved as soon as the office reopened. A few maintenance issues which we highlighted & will hopefully be rectified in this lodge during shut down. Beds extremely hard but suppose that is personal preference. Visited the onsite bar / restaurant. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Wouldn't hesitate staying here again & have recommended to others. Look forwa...more
Louhrigg Lodge really is a home from home for our family. Homely, cosy, spacious, well equipped (although if you require a travel cot, you will need to take one of your own or you can hire one.) The MOST comfortable beds ever! The location is amazing, Limefitt Park has beautiful views especially at the children’s play area. The children’s play area is very good and well suited to both of my children who are aged, two and seven, they also have a football pitch. Limefitt Park is a short drive away from Windermere (I would definitely recommend Tree Top Trek- Windermere) This is an amazing day out...more
My partner and I had a lovely long weekend at High Borrans in September. The Shepherds hut is absolutely gorgeous, with lots of lovely personal touches and the setting/views are amazing. The location is great, we walked into Windermere a few times and tried out some of the beautiful walks that you can go on straight from the hut's front door! We would definitely return and have recommended to all our friends since we got back!
The lodge at High Borrans, Dene, met all expectations and more. The lodge itself had been cleaned to a high spec, and it contained all of the equipment you could need on a lake district holiday (inluding a very warm hallway cupboard to dry boots and clothing after a long walk). The bathroom was particularly impressive, with a large walk in rainfall shower and deep free standing bath. The main room contained an electric fire, and the heating was extremely efficient, great for our stay in October. The location suited us perfectly, with only a few lodges nearby in a very peaceful spot of the lake...more
This lodge is whithout doubt one of the nicest lodges,if not the nicest we have ever stayed in in all the years we have been visiting this beautiful area of our country.Warm ,inviting and with fabric furniture(understandably quite rare in a petfriendly lodge..
Stayed for a long weekend - was beautiful and everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Would 100% go back.
The cabin was lovely inside and beautifully located for the most amazing view! Would definitely stay again. Just one thing to mention was on our last day there was no hot water or heating, but other than that a great stay.
Really enjoyed our stay in this lovely lodge. Was very spacious and modern with a good quality finish. Wish we could have stayed longer. Would love to return in the summer months to enjoy the decking area with the amazing views.
We stayed in Marina view Lodge over the Christmas period and have to say it was clean , comfortable , and very welcoming. The customer service was first class I have no hesitation in recommending Marina view Lodge or Lake district lodges.
Tanglewood is a fantastic lodge at White Cross Bay. The location in the park is great, it was lovely being so close to the lake. The lodge itself was brilliantly equipped, a home away from home. The lodge was very clean and we had everything we needed. Loved having a washer & dryer (especially with 4yo and 8mo daughters!). Would highly recommend a stay here
Lovely lodge in a perfect location, highly recommended. We even had lunch out on the decking in November due to the sun trap position, what more can you ask for?
Just spent the full two week xmas holidays with my family here. We have stayed at this lodge before and it was owned by different owners. We had a fantastic time Limefitt park where the lodge is situated is awesome. The lodge itself is fantastic well equipped and has everything you need. Only bit of advice i would give is in my opinion a dishwasher is a must. And also the some better mattresses as they were very poor.
lodge was lovely and clean . very warm and in a great location, 5mins into Bowness-on-Windermere. really enjoyable weekend
The cabin was spotless when we arrived and everything was laid out for us. We had no issues whilst we were there and we will be staying again very shortly. Theres not a bad word to be said
Love this place the only downside was the pans ect weren't clean and the duvet had blood stain on it maybe need a more thourgh . Cleaner. Apart from that fantastic holiday. Loved every minute of it. Beds very comfy apartment great. Will definitely go again.
The lodge was beautiful, didnt want for anything. I didnt want to go home and I could have moved in. Perfect!!
A really lovely place to stay my only quibble would be the double bed was to hard for myself apart from that great would definitely stay again
Spectacular views of the lake, we couldnt have picked a better spot to celebrate christmas. The lodge was lovely but looked tired and missed a bit of love and personality. Customer service was excellent as always. The views were stunning, so would have helped if the windows were cleaned, so many cobwebs and dust, but we didnt let it spoil our fun. The sofa in the living room needs attention, not at all comfy. We love white cross bay and will stay again, but not in this lodge, the view made up for the niggles.
We came back to Limefitt Park for our anniversary as we do every year. We stayed here at Fellhaven. The weather that weekend was gloriously hot. Inside the lodge was welcoming and had everything you would need. It felt very homely. The sofas was a little uncomfortable as they were quite narrow and you couldn’t relax to well in them if an evening but as we were out most of the day it didn’t really bother us (we are not big people either!!). The lodge had dvds, games and a PlayStation if needed which is a fab idea for those wet weather days. At the end of the day it was lovely to get into a c...more
We had the most amazing time and the lodge was perfect we would highly recommend it and will return.
We had a lovely break at shoreside lodge. It was a home from home and very cosy. The views are beautiful and it's a perfect place for a relaxing break.
Four of us stayed for 2 nights in Brook Lodge. We all loved it and would happily return. Perfect location for a weekend in the Lakes. Parked the car up outside the Lodge and headed into Bowness - just 5mins stroll. Lovely site, friendly staff, check-in super speedy. No complaints!
Beautiful lodge, furnished and decorated to a high standard. Very clean, excellent position on the park for all amenities as well as being in a quiet area.
Excellent location, quiet, lovely walks on doorstep, easy if you have dog/s. Less than a 10 minute drive into Windermere. Lodge is beautifully kept highly recommended.
We have just returned from the Lakes - taken all three dogs this time. It was great to have a lodge that were happy to do this. The lodge was very clean and comfortable - loved the welcome present and Christmas decs up too, which was a lovely touch. Location in the park was great - we have stayed in a number of lodges and this one is the most secluded with great parking. It was great to go in the hot tub and not be overlooked. Everything was well thought out and we had a very relaxing time. The only suggestions I would make would be to have a sweeping brush and hoover that we could use befo...more
Family stay over the Christmas holiday, our 3rd such stay at this lodge. Always very clean and well looked after. Plenty of room, comfortable, hot tub gets a lot of use and in a great location between Ambleside and Bowness. This year a lot of time and effort had been made to decorate the lodge for Christmas which was nicely done and really appreciated. Wanted to book for next Christmas but already booked! Word must have got out how good it is.
This is a beautiful lodge. It’s spacious and airy with nice touches from the owners. Everything was top quality. We have stayed in many lodges over the years and this is the best yet.
Everything was above and beyond our expectations and what was advertised. Absolutely fabulous. Would recommend.
Beautiful location and not far from all major sightseeing points within the Windermere region. The lodge is well maintained and provided the 'home from home' experience that we wanted. The lodge is lovingly furnished and provides additional unexpected features such as children's games and a range of DVD options for the whole family. The outdoor space is excellent and perfect for sitting out and enjoying the spectacular views. The on-site activities are great for young children (park, zip wire etc.) and it even has its own pub restaurant with scheduled entertainment most nights! We couldn't fau...more
Perfect homely lodge just the right size for a small family. Well equipped lodge with the added benefit of a washer/dryer and the bonus of a coffee machine!
Do not think you will find better value lodge on the park, excellent lodge with fantastic hot tub. Short distance to pub/restaurant and close to park exit. Very quiet spot though and private.
Very nice lodge, only slightly let down by the rubbish outside the lodge, couldn’t find instructions for hot tub and couldn’t find 1 of the living room tv remotes. Other than that it was a very very nice lodge and would stay again. Thank you.
Spent a weekend here with the Grandchildren, the lodge was clean, modern and comfortable. Lovely views from the lounge window and well situated, children loved it as well. Welcome gift on arrival, wine, chocs, crisps, nice touch, thank you. Would recommend.
Stayed at Megala Lodge for 4 nights at the end of November. The park is in a great location on the shore of Lake Windermere and had decent amenities. The lodge is spacious and well equipped with everything we needed. It's in an elevated position with a view of the lake. The hot tub was a great place to relax with a drink and watch the sun go down. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.
Had an amazing stay for a weekend in December lovely views. Only slight issue and it really wasn't that big of a deal but the latch on the gates didnt work well and when the wind was bad they were swinging around and banging. We did sort it out by tying bin bags around the top though lol
We stayed as a family of 4 between Xmas and New year, was a lovely break , lodge was spotless , modern and spacious , very homely and cosy too , everything you could possibly need in there too. Close to club and pool . Would definitely book again . Thanks for a Fab stay .
Excellent stay at Damson Lodge. Stayed on the site a number of times in the past and this cabin/location was great - Clean, comfortable, and spacious. Would definitely book again!
This is an excellent lodge in a beautiful location. The lodge was extremely comfortable and very clean.
We stayed at Rydal Lodge over Christmas, I can not say a bad word about the lodge it was faultless. It was dressed for Christmas, Modern, clean, quiet, relaxing, wasn’t over looked whilst in the hot tub (as a lot was) and had everything we needed. We was also able to take out dog with us. We had a perfect stay Thankyou to the owners x Would recommend this lodge to anyone...,
Beautiful clean lodge with all home comforts. Amazing views from the lodge. Perfect location for walking with our dog and exploring the Lake District.
White Swan Lodge is a very well kept, comfortable, clean and cozy Lodge. Everything you could need for a break away from home is catered for, and the Owners have gone to great lengths to make sure that staying at their Lodge would be as comfortable as possible. We stayed early January, the weather was kind, so we enjoyed walks around the Lake and visits to Bowness, which is only s short walk. Returning to the Lodge after a brisk walk was always welcoming, where it was always cozy and warm. This After Xmas Break is in our Calendar every year now, and we look forward to Fallbarrow Park as home...more
The lodge is very clean warm and comfortable, with all the kitchen appliances you would need. We stayed over Christmas, however, and found the half size fridge too small to accommodate all of the food, never mind the fizz! We had to keep our drinks outside on the veranda and then put it in the freezer just before drinking it, which wasn’t ideal but it didn’t spoil things. The lodge had been decorated for Christmas with a beautiful tree and other lovely decorations, which was a nice touch, although new batteries in the numerous candles would help though as only a few of them actually worked, wh...more
the lodge was fabulous, maybe the hot tub could be a tad more secluded from our neighbours window but that aside we had no grumbles whatsoever, excellent location
We chose this cabin on short notice for an upcoming holiday. It turned out to be a relaxing weekend in a comfortable and well-equipped cabin. The sound of the river can be heard inside. It
This log cabin was perfect size for a family of four , very clean ,we had the best nye and will be returning again highly recommended the log cabin was a perfect location with a view of the lake and next to the woods overall 10/10 x
Had a great break with the family over new year. The lodge although smaller than previous lodges we have stayed in is very cosy and probably the best equipped. This is not just with the dedicated Broadband, Smart TV, TVs in bedrooms and Playstation 2, but in every aspect right down to having sufficient cooking utensils. Despite the cold weather the lodge was lovely and warm, which is an important factor when travelling with my elderly mother. The only point for improvement would be to look at changing the mattress in the double room and some better pillows as this was not the most comfort...more
This was our 5th time at the Lodge and each time has been a joyful experience. This time we stayed for 4 nights over Christmas. On arrival the Lodge had been fully decorated for Christmas and had a wonderful festive feeling. Also in the lodge was a bag of presents for us, including a special one for our dog Willow. We would like to send a massive Thankyou to Gina & Phil for this thoughtful gesture, it was greatly appreciated. Although the weather wasn't brilliant we still managed to make the most of our time there and would hope to be back again when the opportunity arises. Once again i wo...more
Well equipped, clean and modern with fabulous sunset view of the lake. Value for money and easy booking process. Access to choices health club was a nice touch. Whitecross bay provides a good base to explore the area. Well recommended
Our first Christmas holiday, it was brilliant. Lodge lovely and comfortable. Our second stay at Limefitt, back again soon.
Never tire of coming to this cabin, always cozy and well equipped we love it. Spent a fabulous week here and celebrated new year plenty of walks with the dogs exceptionally good weather for the time of year will be back before you know it xx
Great weekend with family excellent location and close to nearby towns of windermere and amble side . 2nd time staying in this lodge
It was lovely and absolutely thrilled to bits with the Christmas tree and lights around the cabin. Beautiful location
The only issue was the stained carpet and the smell coming off it. Perhaps a lodge which accepts pets would be better with a wooden floor or darker carpet?
The cabin was well maintained the beds were comfy the rooms nice and warm and there were lots of children's toys and the room was decorated for Christmas which was a lovely suprise
I took my mum to bramble bank to celebrate her 50th Birthday and we had the most incredible time! The cabin was beautiful, cosy, clean and well equipped. I couldn't recommend enough and we cannot wait to return!
We’ve stayed in this lodge for the last 4 years and every stay has been better than the last. We find it a fantastic way to kick start the Christmas holidays.
Booked for a quiet weekend with the family, we wanted to take the dogs and six of us. The hideaway was a perfect choice, lovely lodge with all the things needed for a comfortable stay, well looked after, bar on site with good food and service, perfectly located for Windermere and the lakes, we would definitely go back
Booked 4 nights in February to coincide with my wife's Birthday . (Fallbarrow Park reception even helped me arrange flowers in the lodge on arrival for my wife's birthday too ! ) Took our little Westie, Poppy and had a fantastic time . 4th time with Lake District Lodge Holidays , second time in recent years at Fallbarrow Park , first time at Nieldan lodge and it was great . The lodge is really spacious and modern . Sofa most comfortable one yet (the 100% leather ones tend to slide all over , this was great) . Great location on a very quiet "lane" tucked under the trees , literally 2 minutes...more
Stayed here for a week over the xmas period 21st Dec to 28th Dec. Lodge was lovely warm and clean and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Decorated lovely for the festive period with lights and a tree and we especially loved the hamper that was for left for us on arrival. Would not hestitate to book and stay here again in the future.
Lodge wasn't cleaned very well I wont explain what we found but it was disgusting. Beds were uncomfortable. We have stayed in a few lodges in limefitt park and this has been our worst experience at the park. But we still had a great break away in the lovely lake district
Stayed for 4 nights late Sept. Booking was extremely easy and hassle free. Lodge location is excellent with great views from the decking area and pretty central within the park. Condition and cleanliness cannot be faulted and if returning to Limefitt would have no hesitation on booking this lodge again. Only downside was the on site pub the Haybarn was shut for the majority of our stay for maintenance issues, which has no bearing on the lodge itself. We would certainly return here again as it is an outstanding location.
Stayed in a beautiful lodge surrounded by beautiful scenery...ideal location for Windermere And Bowness on the Lakes. Recommend a boat trip and Brockholes. Will definitely be returning. Great weather while we were there made the experience even better.
The Bedding was dirty there was an alcohol bottle and rubbish chucked under the beds, toe nails on the floor.. really spoiled what otherwise was a pretty perfect location and secluded break.. was corrected promptly when asked but only after spending a night in squaller as by the time realised there was nobody around to assist.
Pleased with the standard of accommodation. Comfortable and spacious. Preferred this lodge to a previous one we stayed at. This is a good base for exploring the Lakes. Enjoyed the hot tub and Choices leisure facilities.
Lodge and booking was excellent but entertainment organised by Parkdean Holidays was a sham by asking people to queue for 1 1/2 hours in the rain to buy tickets at 6pm at night. Once ticket was bought you were not allowed to leave the building and come back in so if you didn’t manage to get a seat you would have to stand all night. Also although a lot of people did pay to get in, there were also people entering and leaving without paying !!!! No one monitoring the situation !!! Not good enough !!!
Superb lodge. Very modern all round and kitchen work tops etc. The heating constantly works and simple to use unlike other lodges stayed at which seem to be on timers that you could not work out. Showers brilliant and powerful. The lounge was super comfy and felt like being at home. Would stay again and recommend. For a dog friendly lodge it was super. Well done to the owners!!!!
There's literally nothing that either of us could fault, if i was nit picking then the only thing i would say is the bath doesn't fill up that quick but that isnt a big issue at all. The lodge was very clean and we was made up with all the kitchen utensils and all the cleaning products. We felt at home within 5 minutes of arriving at the lodge. Beds was comfy, loved the interior decorating, extremely cosy and the lodge is in a nice little area. Overall we loved it for our first UK break and have recommended to many people already. Massive thank you
We have stayed here numerous times and the place is very clean, comfy and gets very warm. Will be returning next year, lovely place!
Really nice break away. We went for some peacful walks and it's certainty a great area for that. The site was nice, clean, dog friendly and staff were nice. Would definitely come back and recommend others
Really enjoyed our stay At the puddleduck lodge over the Christmas period. The lodge was very clean and decorated to a high standard with Christmas decorations which we really appreciated having small children . The owners provided us with a bottle of prosseco on arrival which touched us . The beds were really comfy and the lodge was full with suitable essentials . The Christmas entertainment was lovely for the small children , the only down fall was the amount of dogs allowed in the bar area . We went for a meal one day in the restaurant but unfortunately we had to leave early ...more
Really impressed with this lodge. Great facilities, Brilliant location and really clean! We usually stay at center parcs during Autumn but the kids wanted a change - they enjoyed this more! Super value for money. We'll definitely stay here again!
Lodge was clean and spacious and in a good location. The site is great for walks too and if you have a dog the dog field and shallow river is great. Lovely on- site pub too and food was good after a long walk! Would recommend!!
This is our second time staying in this holiday park, and our first staying in this lodge. It's a really good size for a small family of 3/4. The living area is spacious, with a fire and seating area. The kitchen had all the things we needed, as did the bedrooms. It was clean throughout. The decor is perhaps a little outdated, but it's not like you're there for long so doesn't matter. And the outside hot tub was amazing! Worth paying the extra to get a lodge with a hot tub for sure! My only real issue is that the lodge WiFi was really poor. I was on holiday with my partner and her mum, and ...more
We had the pleasure of staying at Robin View Lodge from the 23rd December for 5 days. It's been the first time we have gone away for Christmas and it has been the best Christmas we have had me, my wife and our fur baby and my parents joined us on boxing day. The Lodge is cosey the sofas are comfortable the electric fire adds to the ambience. The hot tub was amazing and very private and considering it was over the holidays the guys still came round most mornings to clean it and check the levels etc. We cooked a full Christmas dinner 2 days and the kitchen had all the equipment and utensils an...more
This is the second time we have stayed at Beckside Rest, lovely cosy accommodation. Makes you feel like you are in a 'real log cabin'. Outside space is fantastic with a lovely view over the stream and across the valley. Excellent service as always from Lake District lodge holidays and all the staff at Limefitt. No hesitation in recommending the lodge, the site and the company.
Was really pleasantly surprised when arriving to the lodge and wasnt sure what to expect. But the minute we stepped in i knew it was going to be lovely, i travelled pregnant with a toddler so just wanted a comfortable relaxing few days and thats exactly what we got. we normally stay in caravans on other similar sites but nothing compares to this now! the site itself doesnt have a lot on but we didnt really need to venture there. Location is fantastic and views on windermere just a short walk away are amazing. would definitely stay again
We booked this lodge for 4 adults to have a New Years break. We were very disappointed with the size of the lodge it was no way big enough for 4 adults. There was inadequate seating in the living area for us to sit so we spent most of the week sitting on uncomfortable dining chairs. The hot tub is around the back of the lodge and there is no outside lighting whatsoever making it very unsafe. The second bedroom has no room to dress, no mirror and no low lighting (e.g. lamp) so the only place to get ready is the tiny bathroom or use the mirror next to the front door which is very inconvenient. ...more
Loved everything in our recent festive trip to Limefitt Lodge on Limefitt Park. The lodge itself was everything and more we could of hoped for.Beautiful furnishings, comfortable beds and great Hot Tub.Lovely touch with the bottle of champagne,Chocs and a Christmas Card on our arrival. Thank You.
Woodmere Lodge was beautiful, a perfect getaway for Christmas. The cabin was clean and well furnished. We stayed over the festive period and the owners had decorated the cabin and made it feel very Christmassy! The cabin had a private hot tub which was a lovely little extra touch. We will definitely be back next Christmas!
We came for our second stay at Oakwood lodge after loving our first stay there the year before. Unfortunately over the last 12 months the lodge has seemed to become very tired looking and not at all up to the standards from the year before. Also we did have a couple of nights where we were awoken in the early hours of the morning to drunken arguments from the occupants one of the parks rental caravans behind us, this is the first time this has ever happened when we have stopped at white cross bay it’s usually very quiet and peaceful. We did have a nice holiday and had wonderful autumn sunshin...more

When we arrived at Roe Deer lodge it was lovely and clean, very modern and a home away from home! The weather in the lakes wasn't the best but we had no problem relaxing in the lodge! We had an issue with the hot tub which has overheated when we arrived however one phone call to the park and we had someone to help within half an hour and it was sorted and ready to use! The staff across all the park, reception (even gave my mother in law their own staff sweetners as they didn't have any in the shop!) Pub and park were all so friendly! Excellent lodge very homely loved it will definitely book again.Highly recommend this place location fab.
Excellent for someone with a disability although not huge amounts of room if you needed to remain in a wheelchair. There is a wonderful carpet but again the hinders wheelchair use in the lodge as I would have been concerned about ruining the carpet with a dirty chair - and it was wet during our stay! Very well equipped with the general stuff. A modestly priced lodge which was perfectly acceptable.
We stayed at Fir Tree Lodge in White Cross Bay for the week of Christmas. Deposits this supposedly being a busy time we found the park to be quiet and peaceful which was perfect. The park staff were friendly, inviting and helpful and the park is well maintained and conveniently located with both the beautiful towns of Windermere and Ambleside both a short drive away with Wray Castle being a worthy visit! The lodge itself was comfortable, cosy and well presented it was clean, well equipped and functional, it’s location being in the corner ticked an extra box! The only downsides we fou...more
This was a lovely lodge, close to the water. We where able to sit in the hot tub and look over the lake. The same could not be said from inside until we cleaned the outside of the front windows.
Excellent accommodation for family or friends, location is very good for walkers and hikers, enjoyed our stay very much
We have been to this lodge before but this time we were really disappointed.Sweet papers and crumbs under the cushions, finger marks all over the patio door windows, broken hinge on cupboard door over the microwave. The TVis a joke ,,wires hanging down from it,wasn,t working on arrival and we had to point the remote into the corner of the room to change channels. In our opinion this lodge felt tired and a little shabby.Great views though.
Our Christmas stay at Pinehaven was fantastic the lodge was spotless and there was sufficient heating throughout. The kitchen was well equipped with extras for a Christmas meal to be prepped. Plenty in the lodge for all the family to do of a night time.
1st stay at Badgers Rest Lodge very comfortable and clean . The lodge has a lovely view over the playing field which was lovely and peaceful. Would happily return back to the lodge . The Hay barn pub on site is fabulous, lovely food served and made to feel welcome by the lovely staff highly recommend .
Our lodge was gorgeous but we found the heating a bit inadequate. It was very cold at times and we had to wear shawls at times. A lovely maintenance man did come and explain how it works but it did not help the situation. The local restaurant and bar was lovely but didn't like the barking dogs allowed in. Unfortunately I left a heat pad on the bed and a pair of glasses but have not heard if they were found. The lodge windows need cleaning. We would highly recommend this lodge. Thank you.
On arrival to Whitecross bay the reception staff (older lady) was very rude and abrupt, not helpful at all. We arrived at our lodge situated I. A corner of the site out of the way, perfect location especially if you take dogs as it is by the dog walk in the forest! The lodge was beautifully decorated with a comfy sofa, cushions and bean bag, all cooking facilities, utensils and pans to hand. The hot tub was an added bonus, cleaned as we arrived and prior to leaving. The downsides to the lodge I found was the bedroom carpet was dirty and clearly had been urinated on by previous animals. We stayed here for a week as a family of 5/6 (6 for one night luckily) for new year with 2 other families staying in other lodges. On arrival the lodge was dirty. First thing I did was sweep the floor and go to the on-site shop for cleaning products and to clean the windows (could barely see through them with all the dirty marks on them). On making drinks the glasses were filthy and had to be washed before being used, on further checking all the dishes were dirty with bits of food stuck to them. Utensils were minimum, knives were useless. Laminate flooring throughout but no mop. Went to use th...more
All round the accommodation is good and provides everything you need for your break away with the added benefit of the hot tub. The site itself is equipped with a shop, bar and restaurant and the food is really good. The entertainment for families at night is loud and ok but it wasn't our cup of tea...….however everyone is different and they do make everyone welcome. The only down side to the site is the issue of pre-booking hourly slots to swim in the large family pool, never have I ever been to a holiday site that you couldn't just turn up to use the pool. This was disappointing as we staye...more
A cosy lodge for the winter perfect to feel like a hideaway in a forest for a long weekend but wouldnt choose to stay a week long break. There is one lodge that we were allocated that is directly behind the hotel kitchen it was a bit noisy as the bedrooms were directly behind the kitchen to the hotel. The lodge is very comfortable and spacious. We really enjoyed the hot tub & used it every day. The beds were comfortable, with good linen/duvets.
