We found the lodge to be presented beautifully. The kitchen and bathrooms and the whole lodge has been constructed to a very good standard. Not far from west wittering beach so location was great. The site was quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed our stay so much that we have booked again to come back in September.

We had a wonderful time in spite of the indifferent weather. Lots to see and visit. The hot tub was enjoyed by the younger ones who because of the low light pollution were able to observe the stars and the shooting stars in particular. Thank you so much Fern Lodge.

Fern Lodge is so beautifully done and well-equipped that we instantly felt at home and didn't want to leave. Sarah was extremely friendly and helpful, but left us alone to get on with it unless needed. My daughter, her friend (both 12) and Oscar the spaniel (14) all had a fabulous time in the garden. The girls loved the got tub and the garden is a sun-trap. Plenty to do near by, we went to West Wittering, Bosham, Chichester and walked to the Horse and Groom through the woods. We plan to come back to explore some more.

We honestly had a brilliant stay at Fern Lodge. It was the perfect place to relax and spend time in the sunshine. It was ideal with our daughter, extremely child friendly but with a luxurious feel. We even saw an owl and deer in the meadow and loved watching the sunset on the balcony after a relax in the hot tub. Could not recommend this place more. Sarah was also really helpful.

I recently took my fiancée, our baby daughter and our dog away for a last minute long weekend for Mother’s Day (Thurs-Sun). We stayed at the Fern Lodge and what a treat it was!

We arrived late around 11pm on the Thursday and the owner Sarah met us outside with a touch and welcomed us into the lodge, Sarah even give us a quick tour around the property.

The property was absolutely stunning, it was beautifully decorated, high spec, it was immaculate all round, it even had built-in speakers/ audio player which you could connect to your phone to through Bluetooth and the TV, which was great for watching films!

The fire burner and the hot-tub was the icing on the cake for us!

We didn’t leave the lodge much, but we eventually headed into Portsmouth and Chichester which was great too!

Although it was just the three of us and our dog, this property could have comfortably fitted a family of 6.

I have recommend this lovely home-stay to all my friends and family and have no problem highly recommending this to everybody else.

Thanks for having us, we will definitely be back sometime soon!

We (4 female adults and 1 dog) stayed at Fern Lodge for the weekend. Information before arrival was excellent and communication with the host Sarah was superb throughout.
Fern Lodge is beautiful - quality furniture and fixtures, all the amenities thought of and some lovely little touches.
Outside space, views and the wildlife was great too - who doesn’t love a hot tub and fire pit!
Great area with walks/pubs/takeaways/supermarket close by.
We are booking again!!!

We had a lovely weekend at Fern Lodge. It’s is beautifully built and decorated, lovely and clean and perfect for a relaxing weekend.
It would have been good if the hot tub was ready for use on our first evening but understand this takes some time to prepare.
No cheese grater and no hooks on inside of bathroom doors - very small things also no fire pit in garden as listed (marshmallows won’t go to waste though). We found the sofa too slouchy, a few with back ache but that’s because we spent too much time sitting on it! All in all a fab place to stay, we would all go back again, thank you for having us!

We stayed here for a long weekend, it was a surprise for my wife’s 40th birthday, I cannot fault this place at all, we stayed in mid October and were lucky with the Indian summer as we able to enjoy the outside decking and relax with the hammocks and enjoy the beautiful surroundings including the wild deer running through the field next to us, our children loved it too, the upstairs bedroom is breathtaking and includes a balcony to take it all in, the hot tub was perfect and immaculate, the log fire was so cosy in the evening even though it wasn’t needed due to it being good weather but we had to try it., my fave was the Bluetooth system throughout the lodge, WIFI was excellent and not once did our kids whinge that there was no WiFi. Lovely walks right nearby all set out in the welcome pack. 110% we will be returning. Sarah the host was very welcoming and friendly. All in all this lodge is luxury and takes you away from the busy life of work etc.

Lovely accommodation in tranquil setting. Lodge was very well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Lovely size garden which was perfect for my dog. Fab sunken hot tub which was so easy to get in and out of. Overall would thoroughly recommend for a relaxing break away from home especially with your furry friend!

We stayed in Fern Lodge for a week in the summer. It's a great property, well situated for child and dog friendly activities. The property is private, luxurious and spacious. The kids particularly enjoyed the bed with the ceiling painted beautifully with stars and we all enjoyed the garden including hot tub! Lovely attention to detail throughout the lodge with fern wall murals and othet fern themed items. The kitchen is well stocked and there is a large fridge/freezer. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thanks.

We loved the property and the wild life meadow beside it. It was a treat to see and hear a barn owl, green woodpecker, swallows and other birds. A glimpse of a white fallow deer was a bonus plus numerous butterflies, moths and other insects. A photographers paradise. The only slight drawback was the sound from a busy road not far away. In every other respect it was a well equipped and extremely tastefully designed venue. We would go back.

Lovely place to stay with great wi-fi coverage and tranquil surrounding. Sarah has been very helpful and supportive from booking to check-out. I would go there time and time again and will highly recommend. Best thing was the place is pet-friendly so we moved in as a whole family rather than our dog in a kennel and we holidaying without him.

We had a weekend stay in Fern Lodge and can't recommend it enough. The lodge and its garden were fabulous. We had lots of trips out planned but loved the place so much we just stayed in. Every was well catered for, including our dog who could roam around the fully enclosed garden. The kids loved the hot tubs and the hanging chairs and me and my husband loved the relaxing environment. We are planning a second stay later in the summer. Look out for the barn owls in the wildlife meadow. We watched them for hours on end swooping over the tall grass. It's a magical place.

The Oakwood West lodges are ideally located for the coast but also some of the best places in the West Sussex South Downs. Lovely walking from the properties to the local villages but also great walking only a short 20-30 min drive away. Similarly the coast is also near and we loved West Wittering and the Chichester Harbour area. Highlights were the Weald and Downland open air museum and especially West Dean gardens. These are only about 20 minutes away from Fern Lodge

The lodge itself is modern and stylish and has everything you need with great bedrooms and bathrooms to make you feel relaxed. We mostly ate at the lodge but there are loads of country pubs to choose from. What makes the lodge special is the enclosed outdoor space which provides a nice place to relax in the sunshine. A special bonus for us was the adjacent meadow, where we had the pleasure of seeing two barn owls flying and hunting each day.

Sarah the host was always on hand and provided good information and communication before and during our stay. She came to the rescue one day when my wife found a blue tit chick on the outside lawn.
