Our two families and various dogs have been going to Old Blair for the past 14 years. We always enjoy our visit to this fabulous old house and the beautiful area. It is an excellent location for lots of long walks and cycles. We love the familiarity, comfort and homeliness of Old Blair.

Despite the early season we found Old Blair to be warm and comfortable (in fact sometimes too warm if the bedroom radiators were on!). We enjoyed walks through the woods below the house -with some amazing trees- leading to the Castle which is worth visiting. Great for a large group especially in conjunction with Forest Lodge.
A great location for the Munro baggers and fine hills worthy of a repeat visit.

We have been coming to Old Blair for 11 years and nothing about it ever disappoints. It is a dream place for families of all ages . The lodge is perfectly fitted out and the situation could not be better. Literally acres of space in and outdoors for children . For walkers it is paradise and for those guests who are stalking or fishing it would be impossible to be better looked after.

An excellent place to hold a reunion. There was numerous walks in a remarkably beautiful countryside and a splendid castle and gardens to explore.

We have been coming to Old Blair for a while now, annually with friends and children, always a joy. Very comfortable beds and warm duvets and lovely fluffy pillows. Bathrooms well appointed, lashings of hot water, and heating when you want to use it. dining room is perfect for gatherings , sitting room lovely and warm. New Kitchen which has been put in for this year, really nice but could do with an old, just a small table to cut food on with maybe an inset marble top to cut on as there is no spot to do that without potentially destroying the new formica top, where stuff is put on, and no room, but it is very functional otherwise. Maybe sharpen the knives ! maybe a couple more tea towels only 3 available, had to be washed every day. Bins now sorted outside which is great as before bottles were just outside back door, now there is the big bin! so much more orderly. Generally it was noted by us that any refurbishment required has been done, there really isnt anything we could fault. Hopefully we will be allowed back next year.

We have been coming to Old Blair as a family for many years - the last 13 as paying guests. The location is the best for many superb walks in Glen Tilt, Banvie, Bruar etc. We have always lovely the relaxed, homely feel of Old Blair- the lovely wood fire is superb on cold days and we play lots of games around the fire. The dining room is fabulous for family meals, debate and fun. It is our very happy place.

This was our 12th year at Old Blair. It has been substantially upgraded in the past 3 years, partly due to a burst water tank! It is a very comfortable and well appointed lodge and is well maintained. I have 2 minor comments.
1. If there are 12 of us in the Lodge, it would be helpful if there were 12 mugs in the kitchen. 2. I would request that when changing the bed linen, the mattress covers are included, one or two were soiled and unhygienic.
Apart from those comments, we had another great week and are already looking forward to 2023. Many thanks for looking after us.

Old Blair has noticeably improved since its refurbishment and the housekeeper, Jan Wilson, is a gem. Nothing is too much and she is genuinely there to help if you need something. We all had a great time.

Absolutely excellent. Delightful house full of character and nicely furnished in a traditional way. Best location above the castle. I always enjoy a morning and evening walk to the castle and back via the old Duke.

We were staying for a week of stalking. The Lodge was comfortable, warm and clean, the beds were comfortable. Especially the living room with the open fireplace was beautiful and a great place to share stories from the day and relax. All that we had hoped for despite 3 minor domestic issues( defective shower button, v smoky fire blowback and a wasps nest above porch). Otherwise an ideal property for relaxed family gathering over long weekend- lots to see and do for all ages on the doorstep including some fascinating local wildlife.Enclosed rear garden ideal for canine guests. We hope to make another visit!

Our 11th year at Old Blair. It is a very comfortable, clean and well equipped lodge and well maintained. The redecoration and refurbishment of the house after flooding made a great difference. The new Estate staff were extremely helpful, communicated well and reacted to all our requests, (glasses, microwave and kettle), very promptly and efficiently. A front dormat would be a help and would reduce the amount of dirt walked into the house. On arrival the main oven in the kitchen was in a filthy state but was shown to Estate staff who took the matter in hand. Overal, another great week and already looking forward to 2022!

I booked the lodge for my 60th Birthday. I usedto visit with my husband who sadly passed away suddenly. It was a family party with 3 generations and I wanted to make it memorable. The location is fantastic I love Blair and we had stayed in 2014 after my daughters wedding. I could not fault the property but the welcome was poor! We were an hour earlier that the takeover time but needed to let the dogs out of the car and drip off freezer food. The housekeeper was hostile and didn't really want to know we had been on an 8 hrs journey with elderly parents and dogs. Her own dog was wandering around and when we eventually did get into the property there was a little bit of cleaning up to particularly dog poo at the rear.

We were thrilled to stay in Old Blair after walking past for so many years. It is an ideal location for walking and spending time with family who live in Blair Atholl. We loved the sense of space, peace and quiet and the dark, dark nights which we miss in the city. We usually stay in a smaller property on the estate but found this to be just as warm and comfortable. The kitchen was really well equipped for proper cooking - we love an aga(!) as long as you don’t mind the slightly scruffy set up and using bottled water for everything. Some cupboard space for food would have meant more working space, perhaps. I always appreciate the good quality curtains, interesting furniture and pictures and decent beds in the estate houses. We always find the estates team friendly, helpful and efficient - thank you for running such a great operation which helps make our regular Blair Atholl visits something really special.
