The Owl's Barn, once used by barn owls, offers a boutique stylish home oozing flair and comfort, in the heart of the Chimney Meadows Nature Reserve. With wonderful views of the water meadows and large open plan living its just the spot to look out on the wonderful wildlife and enjoy the extensive private grounds that surround it. Its made for reunions and relaxing with a beautiful outside copper bath to enjoy whatever the weather.

Family break, great location with plenty of space. Pre-arrival information was helpful and clear too

A superb cottage which more than lived up to our expectations.
The large open plan kitchen living room is amazing, the garden space is gorgeous.
Would highly recommend, we had a fabulous time.

Lovely house to stay in with friends and explore the area. A slight problem arose with the plumbing which was a bit inconvenient but it was fixed as quickly as possible. The kids loved the outdoor bath tub!

Absolutely Beautiful stay at owls barn the weekend before Christmas. It is in such a lovely location! The perfect relaxing getaway with the cosy fireplace and plenty of space for the family. The barn is beautifully decorated and it was extra special with the Christmas decorations. Thank
you for such a lovely weekend!

Generally our stay was very lovely, the surrounding area and greenery around the cottage were beautiful and lovely touches such as tree swing and sitting area. The cottage itself was filled with some lovely decor and the kitchen was very well equipped as well as having a washing machine and dryer, hoover, mop etc.
Customer service were very helpful and kind.
The bedding was of high quality as was the furniture.
A few things to note:
The overall cleanliness of the of the cottage such as the walls and some other bits were grubby. Generally clean though.
The Wi-Fi does not reach very far outside the bounds of the doors of the cottage, so if you need to work and wanted to work outside this would be impossible.
As stated on the ad phone service is spotty but probably due to how remote the cottage is.
Not many options for food delivery probably 4 in total.
Had a leak through the shower upstairs into the kitchen onto the floor, this was handled quickly and someone was sent round but the problem wasn’t resolved then so this may occur again. (The man they sent round was lovely)

Would be good to know in advance when the gardener is going to show up as I have severe hayfever which causes asthma so I struggled most of the time I was there. Understand this needs to be done and definitely a nice gardener but we had no idea when he was going to show up so couldn’t plan ahead to avoid this.

Generally had a very lovely stay in a very pretty cottage, definitely value for money if you are 10 people but not two as we were as we couldn’t make the most of it all :)

We went to owl barn for family few days it’s perfect beautiful house with everything you need for all ages we chilled out bbq & lovely walks. So peaceful & Sunsets was amazing.

This was the second time we stayed at Owl Barn and we had another lovely stay. The barn is perfect for our family and we love exploring the nature reserve and surrounding area. There's loads to do with kids in the vicinity.

We also booked Yafo Kitchen to do some private chefing for us and it was superb!

Situated in the most beautiful location. Cuckoos calling, deer in the field, swan’s nesting nearby. Two excellent ‘sit ooteries’ to catch the sun all day. A tree swing and a woodland camp.
The house itself thoughtfully appointed, kitchen well stocked and all of it easy to run and the most comfortable beds.
Well done Quince, you have thought of everything.

Beautifully maintained property ideal for a
family/friends gathering! It was immaculately clean and had full amenities that one would need for a short break. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! It is a little secluded, which is great if that is what you are looking for. It’s a good 10-15 minute drive to the supermarket, so recommend you stock up to avoid going back and forth everyday for groceries etc. A good base to explore the nearby sights. Would definitely recommend this property to others and would definitely return should the opportunity arise! The property is as nice as the photos online indicate - even better! Made a memorable and fun stay for our family for a special occasion!

Thank you for enabling us to have a fantastic family Christmas this year with our dogs!!
The highlights - well equipped kitchen with range cooker and huge fridge that were easily big enough for catering for 9 people over Christmas. The downstairs open plan layout is great so that the cooks didn't miss out on the family chatter and there was easily room for Grandpa's wheelchair! Also incredibly practical flooring for 16 paws! The utility is a real bonus for hiding dogfood and drying wet towels!
Even better if...the heating had been on for our arrival and then could have been adjusted to be cooler overnight once it had got going. For a winter/Christmas booking where the log fire is such a feature we would have expected logs to be included....a started kit of 4 or 5 logs after a long journey loaded up for Christmas was a disappointment.
Probably beyond your control...please check out the situation with lots of flies in the far bedroom/shower room and a bit of a drain smell.

An excellent property in the most beautiful setting. Lovely and spacious and nice decor throughout and kitted out with the best of gear. Beds were so comfy too. We loved our stay and can’t wait to go back. Xx

I think it would help if the grass at the front of the property was mown to a lawn level which would be better for people to be able to play games on and also to assist in picking up dog muck. We did find an amount of poo in the long grass which is so much harder to pick up than if the grass had been cut as a lawn
