Situated in an enviable position, only 10 minutes from the centre of Lucca! This charming stone built Casale has a MAGNIFICENT pool and garden with idyllic views across to the Lucca hills. Well situated within walking distance of a small village (with excellent family run pizzeria and 4 restaurants). A quintessential Tuscan retreat yet only 30 minutes from Versilia's golden beaches.Good taxi service to Lucca town centre. Tennis club within 10 minute drive.

Wonderful house with an amazing pool!

We loved staying at the Villa. The pool area and gardens were wonderful! The staff was outstanding. In particular, Isabella was such a great addition to our stay there. She was most helpful, provided such a positive start to our day with her breakfasts, and cooked two outstanding meals for us.

The only issues we had were the following:
1. The throws on the couches in the living room are a total nuisance. Sam should either find throws that fit or replace the couches with something more user friendly.
2. The beds/mattresses could use an upgrade. The master bed in particular is most uncomfortable, with lumps throughout. A good night’s rest on a decent mattress is the key to a good holiday!
3. An information sheet that provides details on lighting would also be helpful (or labels could be put on individual switches). We spent hours trying to figure out light switches and Isabella had to come to our rescue!
4. I’m not sure this is possible, but having a router booster on the second floor of the house would be helpful to access wifi. Having the router in the small office limits access throughout the stone walls of the house. Given today’s hyperlinked travelers, no one is ever fully away from their jobs, so having decent access to internet is becoming more critical.

With the above addressed, we would not hesitate to recommend the Villa to our friends, or return to it ourselves.

Mostly excellent, staff and service outstanding, just two areas that did not rate excellent. Pool facility was great but was some way from and out of sight of the villa so one adult always had to be on supervisory duty if young children in the party. Given the villa slept 10 persons there should have been 10 sun beds/recliners at the pool there were only 7, which was insufficient for our party of 10. Finally some comfortable outdoor seating by the villa would have improved enjoyment for those that did not want to go to the pool area. Nevertheless had a very enjoyable stay at Villa Casale Vorno.

We were a family of 5 staying at Casale Vorno from 4-18 July 2015. It was a spacious, well decorated villa with a beautiful garden and pool. The owner, Samuele, lives next door and was always on hand to help and advise. He was charming and spoke very good English. This was useful as no-one else really did! Everything was really good, though I do have one suggestion. It would have been useful to have a sheet showing not just local restaurants but the location of the nearest bread shop, pharmacy, supermarket etc. I managed to find these by driving around on my own so no harm done but it would have been useful to have a little guidance! The breakfasts were v generous - something for everyone!

The outside barbecue and eating area was great to have and we used it a few times. The pool was spectacular with wonderful views. It was fabulous to be so close to Lucca - a really beautiful Medieval city with a lovely atmosphere - and it was a comfortable drive to Florence, Siena and the coast. The teenagers also went to Florence a second time by train - very cheap and easy! We had a fantastic holiday thanks!
