The Reading Room is a charming Cotswold stone cottage located in Fulbrook, a small village on the outskirts of more famously known Burford, just a 10 minute walk away. The cottage has a bright living room where a cosy wood burning stove awaits you and window seats which overlook the pretty garden, ideally suited for a romantic retreat.

Beautiful little house, superbly and aesthetically decorated, very comfortable and convenient. Specially nice owner who visited and made us feel welcome
And Burford is a genuine, easy 15-minute walk away.Only pity was that the local pub was closed

We very much enjoyed our short stay at The Reading Room. It has been carefully renovated by Bob and Jane who made assiduous efforts to ensure we were comfortable. The cottage is one of the better equipped self catering cottages we have stayed in. On the edge of Burford it has great access to the town's amenities via a 5 minute walk but without the crush of visitors.

It was absolutely lovely to stay in this lovely, comfortable, and walkable cottage, with off-street parking. The hosts stopped by and introduced themselves and they were so kind. The garden was a great place to be and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay!

Das Cottage ist sehr komfortabel, zwei Erwachsene haben gut Platz darin, es ist alles da, was man braucht und es ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Auch der Patio Garten ist hübsch und ideal für einen Schlummertrunk.
Was ich allerdings bei der Buchung nicht realisiert habe, das Cottage liegt an einer recht stark befahrenen Strasse, und der Garten ist zur Strasse hin. In der Nacht wird es dann aber, zum Glück, ruhig. Ein anderer Punkt ist die Heizung, sie entlässt ihre Abgase in den Garten. Der Geruch kommt auch recht stark in die Küche, und sobald man warmes Wasser braucht, springt die Heizung an. Und last but not least: Mit der Sauberkeit waren wir nicht ganz glücklich, Brosamen überall in der Küche und im Kühlschrank, auch Ketchup Flecken, Teespritzer auf dem Boden, im Bad Rückstände von eingetrockneten Kosmetika, und wirklich abgestaubt und Staub gesaugt hat man im ganzen Cottage wahrscheinlich nicht vor unserer Ankunft.
Wir haben das Cottage am Ankunftstag für unsere Bedürfnisse gereinigt und haben uns danach sehr wohl gefühlt. Und ein grosses Plus ist das Carpenter's Arms nur zwei Häuser weiter. Der Chef dort kocht ausgezeichnet.

This was an excellent property. It was spacious, meticulously maintained and in a good, quiet yet convenient location. The bed was huge and comfortable and the backyard was private and maintained very well. A fantastic spot for exploring the Cotswolds and a short stroll to the high street of Burford. Thoroughly recommended

We loved our stay in the Reading Room!! The cottage has been beautifully decorated and really well kitted out. The bed is huge and very comfortable and living room/dining area really cosy. Kitchen is well equipped so you can cook a proper meal. The little private garden looked lovely although we didn’t have the weather to make use of it. Location is great for walks around the area, lovely pubs and short walk into Burford. Not the cheapest but worth it for a treat. We can’t wait to come back.

Very warm and cosy stay in the Reading Room for a week. We were working so stayed most of the time in the cottage and it was perfect for the two of us. The main bedroom is really spacious, and the king bed appreciated! Plus lovely fresh linen. Comfy lounge room and easy to use little fire. Lovely sunlight coming into the cottage. Easy to use kitchen and washing machine, and directions to the cottage etc was very straightforward. Cute, friendly pub just 50 m down the road, and Burford shops an easy few minutes' walk. The cottage backs onto a road which is a little busy at times, but even we, who are both very, very noise-averse, found it didn't impact on our stay at all. I had treatments and my nails down at The Beauty Studio which was fab. All in all a very pleasant stay and would consider staying again next time we need a base in UK.

We had a fabulous few days away in the Cotswolds, to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. The Reading Room in Fulbrook was just the right blend of homely comforts without clutter. The service from StayCotswold made a refreshing change from the automated larger companies that seem to be swallowing up the little people. You still get the personal touch without them being intrusive. We'll definitely use them again. Thankyou to StayCotswold and the owners of the Reading Room for your hospitality

We loved our stay and the interaction with yourselves and the owners made us 'nostalgic' for how it used to be. We only holiday in the UK and are finding the personal touch and care with customers is becoming less frequent. Larger companies are buying up small ones but then losing their USP. We will hold with you again, without doubt

The Reading Room is a wonderful place to stay. It's beautifully presented, immaculately clean, and has the sort of cosy atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at home and relaxed. It was a joy to come back to it each evening after packing in as much walking and sightseeing as we could during the daytime.

The cottage is in a brilliant position, just a 10-minute walk from beautiful Burford. The Carpenter's Arms pub (only 2 minutes' walk) is really nice and serves excellent food. There are umpteen beautiful villages, lovely walks and wonderful attractions within easy reach of Fulbrook by car, so it makes a great base for exploring this gorgeous part of the Cotswolds.

The owners live very close by and were SO helpful and kind. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property!

Ideal position just a short walk into Burford and 100 yards from a very good pub. Beds are super comfy and the whole feel of the cottage is cosy. The accommodation is well equipped and clean.

It is a great base for exploring this part of the Cotswolds with some great walks, spectacular villages and Blenheim Palace all within a short drive.

We enjoyed our 4 night stay in Reading room cottage. It is well equipped and in a good location apart from some day time road noise that we are not used to at home. The owner living close by, was promptly helpful and polite when I had problems operating the television. We had trouble operating the bathroom taps which were very tight to turn off. Burford is a delightful town within easy walking distance and with plenty of eating places, although these were quite expensive.

We stayed for four nights to celebrate my son's wedding.
The cottage is perfectly located in Fulbrook, within walking distance of the church and the Carpenter's Arms.
The cottage was immaculately clean with attention to every detail so truly a home from home.
There is a garden with loungers, seating and a bbq.
Our stay was during the heatwave of July and there was a water challenge impacting all of Burford so there was no running water. On our return from the wedding reception we were delighted to see that our lovely hosts had left us 6x 2L bottles of water.
It is with great pleasure and without hesitation that i would recommend The Reading Room to others and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Good location for exploring and discovering the Cotswolds. The cottage was clean and comfortable and had a lovely secluded garden. The only downside comment we would like to make is that older people or people with disabilities might find it a bit of a struggle to climb into the high sided bath!

The cottage was perfect, but we found the hot water was extremely hot verging on boiling. The bath taps were very stiff.

The Garden Room is tastefully furnished to a high standard throughout.
The owners have provided everything that you might need during the stay.
We have had a wonderful break, the surrounding area is full of beautiful scenery and packed with things to do.

A wonderful cottage with everything you need and wonderfully decorated! Everything is of highest quality and the owners are very nice and helpful people. Burford is a short walk and the location is perfect for visiting lots of nice towns in the area.

This was excellent in every respect except it was difficult to find. We recommend that the owners put a bigger sign at the roadside which I think would solve the problem. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others

We have just returned from a stay at The Reading Room and couldn’t have been happier with our choice. We received a warm welcome on arrival and the cottage was beautifully presented with everything you could need for a short break away. It was spotlessly clean and had some very thoughtful touches too. Ideally located to explore Burford and surrounding villages, it was within easy reach of the best visitor attractions in the Cotswolds too. The cottage was calm, quiet and peaceful and the perfect place to unwind. Thank you, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to friends and family.

Once again we found the Reading room an excellent place to stay. Its location allowed us to get to several places of interest in the area - the villages, Blenheim Palace and Diddly Squat (which lives up to its name by the way!)

The Property itself is furnished beautifully and very clean. The kitchen is well equipped and the bed comfortable. Off road private parking is right by the property and the friendly owners live opposite.

Booking through Stay Cotswold was straightforward. We would stay here again.

We found the Reading room an excellent place to stay. Its location allowed us to get to several places of interest in the area - Boughton on the water, Broadway, Daylesford Organic, Chipping Norton and we had a day in Oxford. Its within walking distance of Burford village and there are many lovely places to eat nearby. There are several walks from the property itself (e.g to Swinbrook). 

The Property itself was furnished to a very high standard and spotlessly clean. The kitchen has modern appliances, it's warm (especially with the log burner going) and the bed comfortable. Off road private parking is right by the property and the friendly owners live opposite.

We hope to stay here again. Booking through Stay Cotswold was straightforward with good email communications on arrival and departure arrangements.

Beautiful cottage, with outstanding decor and everything you’d need had been catered for.

We stayed here with our one year old and it was the perfect break away from home.

Considering re-booking for my mum’s birthday treat!

Also amazing location, a short walk from Burford high street & everyone we came across was simply lovely.

The Reading Room cottage was lovely! Very clean and modern with that beautiful Cotswold stone and a spacious garden. It feels like a steal for the price. A relatively well-lit sidewalk takes you a short 10 minute walk to Burford, which is incredibly charming (and not touristy at all in October!). And a delicious pub - the Carpenters Arms - is just steps away. It was a fantastic base to explore the Cotswold countryside!

The Reading Room is even nicer than the photos online. It was very clean and there was literally nothing they didn't supply going over and above your usual self catering stays. We were so impressed with everything! The little garden was lovely and private. It was next to a road but was very quiet during night time so was never an issue. It is close to the high street so you are never far away from pubs, cafes, etc.

The cottage had everything we needed for a long weekend break. We stayed in a couple of evenings and cooked dinner and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and the open plan downstairs was really nice and well thought out. Burford is only a 10 minute walk and a great place to grab a coffee. We would recommend a trip to the Carpenters Arms, which is a 3 minute walk away, for dinner or drinks in the pub garden - the food and service was excellent.
