The Nest at Robins Roost is a cosy, well equipped one bedroom, dog friendly annexe located in the grounds of the owners home in the rural village of Little Rissington, just over a mile from Bourton-on-the-Water. The Nest can also be booked alongside neighbouring property The Cottage as Robins Roost, where an additional four guests can be welcomed!

Lovely apartment to stay. Peaceful, relaxing and even better that we could have our dog too! Very comfy bed and the best shower. We will be booking again soon for sure!!

We throughly enjoyed our stay in the cotswolds. The Nest at Robins Roost is in a lovely setting and had all we needed for our stay. The property was clean but slightly let down by a number of cobwebs around the lights. The bed is very comfy, however it squeaks heavily. An easy fix with an Allan key. On our last night it was very windy. Not sure if it was the tree hitting the building or something rattling in the car port underneath the property. What ever it was it was enough to cause a sleepless night. I'm not one to complain and would stay again. A few minor easy fixes needed.

The Nest is a really cozy get-away stay. The website describes very well what to expect with the sloping ceiling and all. My partner is 189 CM long and because we knew what to expect it was our choice to stay here. That's why we also expected a kingsize bed. But the truth is that we both had issues fitting into the bed. The actual measurements of the bed is 140cm by 200 but the matrass is only 130 by 200 (and the bed shrieks when you move just an inch) . With a duvet that is has exactly the same measurements, 130 by 200 cm, try to fit under that together without poking an eye out.

The cleanliness can be worked on, there was a bit dust here and there but overall good enough.

Everything else was exactly as described and shown on the website.
The kitchen has everything you can think of and I loved it! because of it we cooked ourselves during our stay (a week).


The owners are really nice and we enjoyed walking around on the premises to see their lovely natural pond and their chicken who roamed around there too.

The king sized bed is a wooden frame and will creak from time to time with movement. The property managers have also confirmed that the duvet and linen are king sized. This was our second visit to this perfect little cosy nest. Excellent location for touring the Cotswolds. Peaceful, tranquil and relaxing. Very clean and so well equipped.. Such a cosy little nest to retreat to after a day out. Our recommendations from last year were acted on, and this place is now perfect! We look forward to returning again in the future.

We stayed at the nest at robins roost For 4 days
The bed and sofa were uncomfortable the freezer needs defrosting
the low ceiling were a pain you either walked around hunched back or bumped your head
The parking was very poor
They did have a table and chairs outside but we would’ve felt uncomfortable sitting outside because it was in their car parking space. So we wouldn’t choose to stay at the nest again . But would definitely visit the Cotswolds again

If you walk to burton on water beware the paths are over grown and forget the 20 mile limit so take care

The only con was a slanting ceiling apart from that it was OK.pros were it was very clean and a comfy bed.

The accommodation is fine, and in a nice setting and good location. However, it is in the converted eaves of a car port, which is not shown in the pictures or in the description. So first impressions were disappointing - not the romantic hideaway we were expecting. Once in, the best feature is the bedroom, light, comfy, spacious. The living and dining room area is small even for just 2 people. The kitchen is well equipped and the bathroom fine with really nice shower. Heating and hot water were efficient. However, no provision for recycling, which is very disappointing.

The rubbish is collected by a private contractor which is then sorted and recycled off site to save guests from having to do this. Perfect location to explore the beautiful Cotswolds.
Comfy & clean stay.
Well equipped kitchen. Basic supplies such as tea, coffee and milk were provided.
Linens all provided including tea towels.
Low ceilings, but this makes it all the more cosier.
Small dogs are welcome and ours settled really well in this place.
Only issue we had - toilet would not flush and this was not resolved during our stay.
Thankyou for a lovely few days.

A brilliant place for two people to enjoy a long weekend away (with a dog). Couldn't fault it. The fact that the accommodation is basically a converted space over a stone built car port has been something of a talking point with work colleagues but all impressed by the photographs that we sent back. It is a small but very well thought out space. We would have no hesitation going there for another stay. It is located only a few minutes drive outside of Bourton on the Water but is itself situated in a small village surrounded by countryside. Has everything you really need, including a dishwasher and access to washing machine and tumble driver if needed. Great wi-fi service, somewhat intermittent phone signal but patchy signal seems to be an issue over large parts of the Cotswolds, absolutely nothing to do with the accommodation. Haven't been to the area for many, many years and this proved to be a perfect location as a base for exploring from. This is the first time that we have booked anywhere away since our children were born (our youngest is twenty so it has been quite a while). Whole experience of using StayCotswold has been very positive. Only complaint, our long weekend was over far too quickly.

The room was ok and the kitchen is well equipped. However there was no WIFI or mobile network throughout our stay. There was no advanced notice even though the prob had been persistent for while. We had to drive to somewhere to get signal just to make calls. This was terrible.

Also the check In is 5pm instead of the normal 3pm. This has caused inconvenience especially when trying to find this location after dark.

The door lock was problematic. We couldn’t open the door on arrival and approached the host for help who wasn’t pleased. The host also left reminders such as “turn off the light when you go out etc”. We felt like we were being watched and lectured. Not a good experience. Shame

The property is advertised as having ok mobile signal however this does depend on your individual network. Check in is clearly advertised as being 5pm and this is a fairly standard time in this area. The front door to the property is wooden and does swell in damp weather so the door sometimes will need a gentle push to get it to open. Sadly, previous guests have failed to turn lights/heating off when departing so the property owner have added a notice to politely remind guests.

Lovely place in a great location. Only had a couple of issues the first being that there was no wifi for the first 2 days, which wasn’t the owners fault however when there is also no phone signal did cause a couple of issues. However the main issue was finding 2 used tissues and other rubbish under the bed, well my puppy found them which was not good. Maybe a little bit more attention to detail on the cleaning front. Apart from that’s everything was excellent.

The property is advertised as having ok mobile service, however this does depend on your individual network. A great little 'nest' to retreat to at the end of the day. Very clean and tidy. Ideal location for touring the Cotswolds. Very cosy. The bed is memory foam and although it's very comfy it's not ideal for those who get very hot at night. Extremely well equipped overall, everything we needed was there. Only drawback is that the sofa is not very comfy. Property has low ceilings as you are in the roof space which can provide a height issue, but we found it very quirky. Directions and instructions given were excellent and accurate. Overall we had a fantastic stay, and will be returning.

We had a lovely couple of nights at The Nest, a perfect name for this cosy little conversion for two. Nicely presented and welcoming hosts, the freshly laid eggs from the bantam hens were delicious. I would have happily extended the stay. It got a bit toasty (but we were in a heatwave) and the atelier attic-style sloping roof might not be great for the giants amongst us. As another reviewer mentioned, the sofa is extraordinarily uncomfortable (but didn't notice it so much after a bottle of wine ) and a mirror in the bedroom would be helpful. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

The location is fantastic and bed is super comfy. The parking is incredibly difficult to get out of and we damaged our car in the dark as they're are no lights and not enough room to turn with the owners cars parked too. The kitchen had a dishwasher which was a nice touch. The sofa was quite uncomfortable so we just sat at the table or in the bedroom. The bath was lovely but you bump your head against the wall if you use the shower. I would stay in another property by StayCotswold but not the nest as I don't want to damage my car or bump my head again!

Previous guests haven't raised any concern about the parking, however we have shared your suggestion of some lighting for the parking area with the owners. As per the pre-arrival document, there is an allocated parking space for one car on the shared driveway and if required, further free parking is available in the village. Really enjoyed my stay at The Nest; a cosy and comfortable space for a few days for some much needed peace and quiet. It had everything I needed in the kitchen; the fridge has a freezer box that needs defrosting but otherwise it was serviceable for my wants. A great location for easy access to the quintessential Cotswold villages and shops for essentials (you will need a car). A wonderful place to rest for a few days.

We had a lovely week at The Nest in a quiet, beautiful location. The annex is clean, well equipped, cosy and warm with a very comfortable bed. The only reason we scored a 4 for comfort is that the sofa wasn’t very comfortable. There is great walks exploring the pretty villages of Bourton on the Water, upper and lower Slaughters, Broadway and Stow on the Wold. If it wasn’t for the storms we would have fitted in much more but we will look forwarded to coming back to The Nest and the beautiful Cotswolds.
