Heath Cottage is a fabulous grade II listed holiday home which boasts contemporary interiors, spacious living areas and a peaceful courtyard garden, complete with comfy seating and a charcoal barbecue. Located in the heart of Stow-on-the-Wold, this beautiful property is perfect for get togethers with loved ones who enjoy the ease of a well known Cotswold town on their doorstep.

Instructions and any communication with the property was very easy to follow and helpful.
The kindly allowed us to have 2 well behaved dogs in the house at an extra cost.
Parking outside the property was easy, or you'd park round the corner and move it when there was a space, we didn't move them once we parked for the whole weekend. We did however go to park one car behind the property in the allotted space but the house next door had parked two cars and encroached our parking so we're unable to fit a car in. If the town was busier this would have been a problem, the cottage had put signs clearly marking our space, it was the neighbours fault.
The house is well equipped, although we were 5 adults and the house sleeps 6 there was only 5 of everything, plates etc.
Location of the house is perfect and enough space for 5 adults easily.
The garden is an added bonus, when the weather is better it would be wonderful to sit out there. Also securely enclosed for those with dogs.
People mentioned traffic noise being an issue, we did not find this at all given the busy road close by.

Few minor niggles:
The mattress on the top floor overlooking the cemetery could be replaced, it dipped in the middle. 3 nights were just enough.
The drains for the upstairs bathroom need unblocking, the sink filled up very quick, not draining away. Same with the shower, I removed the plug and it was fine.
There were a few marks on the bedding which didn't bother us, just in case you didn't know.

Lovely little cottage with room for us all - 4 adults and a toddler.
Only trouble was when the washing machine was on for baby stuff, the draining water flooded the kitchen. Came right under the door from outside, so we only used it once! Otherwise we had a great time. Close to the town centre to walk in and enough parking for both cars.

We had a wonderful stay at Heath Cottage. We do an annual Cotswold trip just before Christmas and I’m so glad we found this cottage. Everything was perfect! A few cobwebs but that’s to be expected in an old house. Very glad that things like washing up liquid, soap and dishwasher tablets were provided. The bedlinen was beautiful and the beds so comfy! The lounge was most definitely ours (and our mini dachshunds) favourite room with the lovely log burner. We have booked for next year and cannot wait to come back!

The house itself was beautiful, although it’s worth stating that the stairs are very steep and slippy (varnished floors) and ceilings are very low, so getting up and down them is hard (a lot of head banging).
There were a few dusty spots with large old cobwebs hanging at the top of the stairs. The house was kept very warm which was good.
Sadly there was no Tin foil, hand wash (in any bathroom), dish clothes, dish washer tablets or tea towels.
We had to go shopping as soon as we got there but left it behind for the next guests. Washing your hands should be a bare minimum.

It was located very well near the centre and just a stones throw for all the shops.

The property location is something of a double-edged sword. Very close to all the amenities of Stow but yards from the very busy A429, with its heavy traffic, including a fair few emergency vehicles hurtling past. Weather was warm but given traffic noise, opening bedroom windows wasn’t an attractive option. Property is either quaint or given steep stairs, low ceilings and awkward layout of 2 bedrooms in the eaves, a bit annoying, depending on your point of view, though to be fair, it was alluded to in the literature. It was clean overall but extractor fans weren’t working in the upstairs bathroom and there was some staining to soft furnishings. It was pretty well equipped and did the job but given the above, probably won’t return.

The property description does state that -'This property is laid out over three floors and guests with young children should note that the property has steep staircases, particularly up to the second floor, and the front door opens directly onto the road outside. There are also ceilings throughout and low beams on the stairs up to the second floor, which could make it difficult to carry an infant up the stairs.' The map under the location information does clearly show where the cottage is located. We are delighted that you found the property to be clean and well equipped.

Although a very quaint cottage that is expected in the Cotswold, the property needs some touch ups. With it being dog friendly, you can smell this in the house and upholstery. There is also an issue with the upstairs bathroom (shower) leaking to downstairs. Although not a huge issue whilst being there, I am sure the landlord would prefer this to be fixed before it creates further damage. The cottage is located just off the main road and parking was fine, on street. There was plenty of crockery and amenities (although no coffee granules left). There is an M&S petrol station across the road which was handy. Located closely to the centre of Stow-on-the-Wold. The Porch House was lovely for Dinner! Overall, the cottage served its purpose but could have been cleaner.

Heath cottage is a fantastic find. A quaint old cottage. Spotlessly clean. Wonderfully comfortable. Very well equipped. Right in the middle of things. We would highly recommend.

Nothing to complain about here. Since being asked to review though, I'll remark that some decor could be updated and kitchen utensils are both rather worn and limited. As was the crockery (needed nice deep cereal bowls!). Really minor quibbles; this is a very comfortable cottage, warm and snug in the cold weather we had with nice outside space and well positioned for Stowe's amenities and for getting out and about. The kitchen is small and limited but we were fine with four of us. With six exclusively self catering it would have been a push, i think.
We really appreciated the local management (Sarah) being proactive and attentive. And so helpful, friendly and willing to assist with our enquiries. Huge thanks to her!

We've just had a great short stay and would recommend Heath Cottage without hesitation

Great location and lovely old cottage, which was warm and inviting when we arrived. However, there was no privacy in the living room as there was a window blind missing - this room faces the main road so anyone passing could look in. The ceiling lights in the dining room did not work but there were lamps that could be used instead, the thermostat was hanging off the wall. There was ample crockery but on the whole the kitchen was poorly equipped and in desperate need of a refurb.

Lovely quirky cottage just a short walk from Stow centre. Bonus of allocated parking for when its busy.
