Beautiful cottage and a lovely village. Comfortable and private Excellent property Manager who helped with a couple of queries
Such a beautiful home, everything we possibly needed, well stocked kitchen, loads of kids games and toys. The beds were super comfy, loved the fireplace , really cozy atmosphere and perfect temperature, we never felt chilly. Brilliant location, we visited (all within a 30 min drive) Birdland, Cotswold Wildlife Park, Oxfordshire Museum, Bourton on the Water, Diddly Squat and the Farmers Dog. We will absolutely be back!
Beautiful, very well maintained, cosy cottage with everything we needed and more. The owners have really thought carefully about everything. A lovely welcome basket with all the essentials and even a loaf of freshly baked gluten free bread which I didn't even ask for but the owners had noted my allergy. Dog treats and bowls for the dog. Lamps and fairy lights put on to welcome us in and the owners themselves came to say hello and to ask if we needed anything. A perfect location for exploring the area and some great recommendations on where to eat out. We really can't think of anything negative...more
A wonderful stay in the Tractor Shed. Very beautiful lodge style accommodation set in the owners grounds overlooking countryside. Only a few miles from Warwick, Strafford Upon Avon and Royal Leamington Spa so great location. Also, travelled back to Cotswolds to explore the beautiful villages. Accommodation is very nice and beautifully cared for with everything you need, including a car charger which was handy.
our expectations were fulfilled. A PERFECT HOUSE FOR MY GROWN UP FAMILY AND MY GRANDAUGHTER Beautiful Xmas trees one in lounge and second one in kitchen All furnishings very comfortable and kitchen very well equipped . We hope to return perhaps in the spring or summer as lovely garden area. All in all very happy experience.
The cottage is in a perfect location and was clean, modern, well appointed and tidy. If you like walking there are a number of walks just outside the front door. There was parking which was outlined on the driveway next to the house. However, this was not made clear in the pre arrival documentation and is a big plus which should be better publicised. There is just a tiny point to mention and that is the fire in the living room sits on a raised tile which is almost invisible and we both accidentally and painfully stubbed our toes during our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt well sit...more
We absolutely loved The Roost. The house was in a perfect condition, very clean and check in was easy. Loved the bathtub the most. You will find all necessary equipment/utensils in the kitchen, making it a perfect place for a long stay. 100% recommended!
We had a fantastic weekend and the house was brilliant - we will definitely be returning in the future
We had a wonderful stay at The Old Workshop. The accommodation was clean, beautifully decorated and perfect for our week away. The location was perfect for visits to Stratford and all of the main attractions in the Cotswold via car. Our hosts were very welcoming, even though we arrived late, and the egg delivery was fantastic :) We would highly recommend The Old Workshop, and will definitely stay again if in the area.
We had such an incredible time staying in Pilgrim cottage in Blockley! It’s right next door to the Crown Hotel which has incredible food (be sure to try the ramen!) and a fun atmosphere. It’s a 5 min walk to the Blockley cafe and shop, you MUST get a scone at the cafe! The cottage itself was like a fairytale, gorgeous exposed ceiling beams, beautiful stone floors, cozy wood burning fireplace, the most comfortable beds and perfectly decorated! If we return to Blockley again, we will definitely be staying in this cottage again!
Our second visit to Augusta Cottage and hopefully not the last. There is absolutely nothing detrimental to say about the cottage. Its position is perfect for accessibility to the village and its plethora of pubs and eateries. Its location is ideal for exploring The Cotswolds, the majority of sights and Cities are under an hour of driving time away. The cottage is spotlessly clean, comfortable and has all the amenities and utilities you could want for a stay in this area including private parking which is a must have in Bourton on the Water. Sheena and Joe the owners live adjacent t...more
This was was our second visit to Butchers Flat. It’s a lovely home from home with everything there that you need. The welcome gift was very much appreciated and was lovely to meet Pat on this visit
The Puzzle House was a delight. Spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Great location and good value. I thoroughly recommend it.
We fell in love with the Knead bakery last year on a visit to Cirencester, so we were really excited to be able to stay in the flat above it! The property is decorated modern throughout and was very clean. We were provided with great communication from the host Maddie, and were able to find the location fine. The living room seating was really comfy, our only suggestion would be a couple of foot stools would be a nice addition. The bedrooms were all gorgeous and beds were comfy. There was some noise late at night from people in town, and from early morning deliveries, which bothered some but n...more
A lovely cosy clean cottage with everything you need. Owner very helpful. Able to fully relax in the countryside
What a beautiful cottage this is. Lovely throughout, an excellent kitchen (which was well equipped, too), great shower, very comfortable beds… what’s not to like? And the welcome pack was most welcome! I have no hesitation at all in recommending Slade Stables as your base for a Cotswolds sojourn
Tony was very welcoming and left an extensive welcome pack of goodies. The flat was very clean and well appointed, comfortable and warm. Excellent location, in walking distance of the restaurants and shops. The parking space was much appreciated.
I can’t say anymore about how lovely this place is. The attention to detail and the welcome pack was wonderful. Location perfect. We will be back
Gardners cottage is just adorable. We rocked up in the dark so couldn’t really see the surroundings but oh my days when we awoke it’s just stunning. Living areas are perfect for a group of 8. Everyone had their own bathroom (which is a must have) the beds are soooooooo comfy. The village has everything you need & lots of gorgeous walks from the doorstep. Jeremy & Oli are so welcoming & their communication is excellent. We all agreed we will definitely be returning to Gardners Cottage
The staying was excellent. The neighbourhood off Rex Cottage is good. We recommend everybody Rex Cottage to stay.
The lodge was a stunning place to stay for a group of friends. It had all the amenities we needed and the fireplace was a treat for a cosy weekend. The location was a central spot, easy to drive to many of the Cotswold villages. Will return for another weekend!
Coral and John were perfect hosts there if you needed them but respectful of your privacy.Cottage was exceptional,it was spotless, well equipped, all of the necessities provided and much more.Welcoming gifts too!
We had a lovely weekend staying at the Sheiling! The accomodation was perfect, and the spot is truly quiet with the most amazing sunset colours! The Sheiling is full of every comfort. We loved it and hopefully will be able to come back!
Perfect stay. The house was spotlessly clean and was really well equipped. The house is in a great location, perfect for exploring the Cotswolds.
We enjoyed a winter break in this beautiful cosy cottage. Communication was excellent, and on arrival it was super cosy and warm. Set in a beautiful village, where we enjoyed lovely walks and visiting beautiful surrounding areas. The owner has taken care to ensure that all amenities are catered for and that a comfortable stay is ensured, whilst allowing you privacy throughout. Thank you. We look forward to returning.
Everything about Enoch’s cottage was perfect! Comfortable, cosy, everything that you could possibly want or need was there. The beds were super comfy. Location was great, just a 5 minute walk to the square. Would totally recommend this cottage, and will definitely be returning again ❤️.
The shepherds hut was just lovely and had all we needed for our few days away. The bed was super comfy and the bathroom nice and clean. The location is just lovely and VERY quiet. It's also a good location for exploring the cotswolds. The little kitchen area (including a small fridge) was very useful and it was nice that the hut was already stocked with tea/coffe/sugar/biscuits and a bottle of wine. We had a lovely time....so nice in fact that it stopped us visiting places as the hut and location was so lovely! We were lucky with the weather but honestly, a really lovely place......we ...more
We wanted a girls weekend somewhere relaxing to recharge, and we got exactly that. The pool was a lot of fun and the fire made it feel very homely when sat watching films. Location was perfect, easy walking distance into town.
Lovely property in a charming village with great local pub. Very well presented and equipped . Short drive to Broadway with wider amenities. Steep stairs on two floors so not suitable for those with limited mobility. Only suggestion is a later checkout time. 10.am on a Sunday is too early
We had a wonderful week in Wood Cottage, everything was perfect . The log burner was very welcome after some cold days exploring the local area. A lovely walk into Fairford which has a gorgeous church, some nice little gift shops and pubs. Great fish and chip takeaway.
I REALLY LIKED IT AS IT WAS SOMETHING I WAS LOOKING FOR, THE ONLY THING IS WHEN I ARRIVED AT THE TRAIN STATION I COULD NOT FIND THE PLACE , I THINK ONE SHOULD BE INFORMED THAT THE PLACE IS OPPOSITE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD HIGH STREET,, AND MAKE SURE THAT THE PEOPLE COMING DONT HAVE 20 KILOS LUGAGES AS I HAD THIS ISSUE WITH THE STAIRS, AS I WAS TRAVELLING FOR ONOTHER COUTRY TO COME AND VISIST MY SON,, BUT I HAVE NOTHING TO COMPLAIN IS IT WAS MARVELLOUS
We had a very enjoyable stay and the Coach House had excellent facilities. It is set in a beautiful location and only a short walk to a local and friendly pub serving very good food.
We had a great time at Fox. Great location for seeing everything and wonderful views. Owners very nice. Only thing we missed was a dog friendly garden but would go back. Lovely little house.
One of the nicest and cosiest cottages we have stayed in, spotlessly clean, great furniture and fittings and superb location for visiting the Cotswolds. We will definitely return one day..
We stayed for two nights at The Glen and had the most wonderful time - the house itself is beautiful, including the garden. The kitchen is well equipped with any cooking utensils one would need. The private parking is also ideal. Blockley is such a charming place, we'll definitely be back.
We stayed in the Rabbit for 3 nights whilst visiting the Cotswolds. The property was very clean, tidy, and had underfloor heating which was a bonus and made the property feel very cosy. We came with our baby and so required a travel cot and high chair which were provided. Location was great and close to many places to visit. The only downside was that the bed and pillows were not very comfortable, so perhaps this could be looked at to improve comfort at night. But other than that, we had a lovely stay!
This was our second time staying in Pinckney House. Once again, everything had been perfectly prepared by StayCotswold Limited. The house is lovely, spacious and tastefully decorated and furnished. Our visit this time was in winter rather than summer and the house was lovely and warm, enhanced but a wood burning stove in the sitting room and an Aga in the kitchen. It is not the cheapest but it it's definitely worth the premium.
I stayed here with my two daughters(27 &30) and we all enjoyed staying here. There was everything we needed and it was lovely and spacious. I especially liked the super king sized bed! The location was great with plenty of places to eat nearby.
Little Barford Mill was one of the nicest places we’ve stayed at. Was perfect for 5 couples, all very comfortable , clean and very beautifully done .
We had a wonderful stay in the Little Cottage. We were completely charmed the moment we stepped in. Everything has been well thought out for absolute comfort, the location was also fabulous. The team were very responsive via whatsapp when we did have questions. I would love to come and stay again. Thank you!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Mews - it's very handily located to Burford and to other Cotswold towns. It was lovely and warm when we arrived, and stayed that way throughout the duration of the stay. A beautiful property, and looking forward to coming back one day!
We had a lovely stay at The Barn, Nick & Jan were brilliant in communication when resolving an issue with the internet that was out of their control ! The accommodation is lovely and designed to a really high spec. It’s a short drive to some lovely villages within the Cotswolds a pub within walking distance (horse & groom) and 5 mins down the road Moreton-In-Marsh has everything you need. We will definitely be returning to the Barn.
The apartment was brilliant. It was bigger than expected and every small detail had been thought of, including shampoo, conditioner, and a voucher for the local bakery. Location couldn't have been better, so easy to get around the town. Was nice and toasty despite freezing weather. Only thing to note is the WiFi doesn't work very well, I barely connected all trip, and there isnt much phone signal.
We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this cottage. The host was incredibly welcoming, and the place was spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained. The cottage itself is very comfortable, and the amazing views made our stay even more special. The thoughtful touches like fresh scones, cream, and milk were greatly appreciated. A fantastic place for families, and we will definitely be returning!
We were a party of 7 adults and 2 children. There was so much room for all of us. Excellent house with great size en suite bedrooms. An amazing through room downstairs, Perfect for us! A stunning place with a beautiful stream behind it. Everything we needed was supplied, in a huge kitchen which was great! Thoroughly recommend this house and we would love to visit in the summer to enjoy the garden.
Stonelands proved to be the perfect venue for a 3-generation family weekend to celebrate my 70th birthday. With ages varying from 1 to 75 there were a lot of varied requirements to fulfil and Stonelands exceeded all expectations. There was plenty of room for 10 people in 3 family groups to spread out and all the facilities were first rate. The location is in a very quiet and convenient spot, just off the A40 so it made visiting Burford, and the Cotswolds Wildlife park very easy. We enjoyed a terrific bbq the first night in the great outside dining dining area, lots of competetive croqu...more
We loved the Haven, so cosy and homely. Perfect location, the only negative is the car park very hard to get in and out but we managed it. Would 100 percent book again. Thankyou The Winsers xx
We had a lovely time. Cottage was above expectations Loved every moment. I felt reluctant to go out in day I just wanted to look at the books and games and ornaments. Every device and utensil available to make your holiday truly easy. Best place I’ve ever stayed
We spent a lovely three days at Ostlers over half term with our children. We used the house as a base to visit family in Oxford (very easy via short drive and park & ride) and venture to some of our favourite places in the Cotswolds (Hidcote Manor Garden and Burford Garden Centre). Ostlers was in a great location on the High Street and was warm and welcoming. We found it really comfortable and ideal for our needs with three good sized bedrooms, a lovely lounge and kitchen diner. We really enjoyed the traditional period aspects of the house and helped make us feel that we had been away for ...more
Just returned from a delightful weekend away with two school friends at Shakespeare Cottage. Check in was easy and we parked in a nearby carpark which had plenty of spaces. We were charmed by the terraced house with its wooden and flagstone flooring and very tasteful decor complete with White Company bedding. All the bedrooms are a good size and having two bathrooms made things easy. We had a great time experiencing Stratford upon Avon: Parkrun on Saturday morning; cinema at the amazing Everyman in the evening; a Ghosts, Gore and Folklore tour of the RSC; bargain hunting in the charity shops; ...more
The Smithy is a lovely little cottage, for a girls weekend away had everything we needed and spotlessly clean. Excellent location for exploring. Managed to get parked right outside but the permitted parking was literally just round the corner. Would definitely stay again
Will’s Cottage was just what we needed for our family. We realise that allowing people on tour farm can be ‘invading’ but we are very grateful for Will allowing us to roam on the farm and being close to the animals. It was food for our souls. Communication via StayCotswolds was also excellent throughout. Best customer service experienced in a long time!
Great location, exceptionally clean and a very comfortable stay. Perfect enclosed garden for our dog and overall we would book Izods again in the future.
A truly beautiful property that is tastefully decorated with all the amenities you could wish for. The location is perfect - in the centre of Burford ideal for shopping and visiting restaurants yet very peaceful and the wonderful countryside is easily accessible. We’re planning on returning next year
Coppers Barn provided the ideal property for my retirement party with extended family. 9 adults easily accommodated for 4 days. All bedrooms are well equipped with either full walk in showers or proper showers over a bath (which some in our party preferred). The kitchen, dining and lounge areas being completely open plan lend themselves perfectly to entertaining. We had a private chef on the Saturday evening and he commented on how spacious and well appointed the kitchen area was. We included the hot tub as well, which at 38 degrees on a cold, wet November evening, was marvellous. Overall...more
We had a great time staying in the garden cottage. The location is perfect and the house itself is cosy and comfortable to stay in. The dog treats and local produce are thoughtful little touches that make the stay extra special. We will definitely be visiting again!
Cosy peaceful and comfortable stay at the Tractor Shed. The climate controlled heating was perfect and the modern accommodation had everything one would need. Location was perfect close to local pub restaurant and shops. Only thing to improve would be to perhaps have blankets for the evening as it’s getting chillier.
Stated here for a week in mid November, really can't fault it. Fantastic location in centre of village close to all amenities. Cosy and omfortable both inside and out. Would definitely stay again. David
The house is a great size, well thought out, and very comfortable with 5 double bedrooms. We stay in Stow twice a year for Cheltenham Races and have already booked this property for March. It was the perfect base for five gentleman who value life's little luxuries.
The property was spotless and beautifully furnished, creating a comfortable atmosphere, central area.
The four of us enjoyed our stay in Blockley very much. Blockley is such a lovely village and Knoll Cottage was very nice but the TV reception was awful - we never got to watch anything on BBC! The cottage was well-equipped, comfortable (another 2 seater sofa instead of the 2 rather uncomfortable chairs in the lounge would be a better arrangement) and was decorated nicely in a non-country cottage style. The village shop and restaurant/coffee shop were lovely as was the Great Western pub. We all enjoyed our short stay very much indeed. Other relatively small points are: No ice cube tr...more
We enjoyed a week at Churn View, the accommodation was spotless and cosy. Just a 20 minute walk into Cirencester and really convenient for a number of Cotswold towns. We made the most of the surrounding countryside when the weather was good and cosied down with some nice food and movies when it wasn't so great! All in all a very much needed and appreciated break!
We had a lovely few days at Hamilton's apartment. It is in the heart of Stow and is beautifully decorated and cosy. We had everything we needed and a lovely hamper of goodies on our arrival. I would highly recommend to friends and family and will definitely stay again.
We had a wonderful 4 night stay in this lovely cottage and found it to be very clean and comfortable. Everything we needed was there and it felt like a home away from home. The Property Manger was very proactive, friendly and assisted with any queries we had. The garden was fully enclosed which was perfect for our dog. We would definitely stay here again.
What an absolute amazing place. The restored Chapel was beautifully renovated and had everything we needed It was a very large property with loads of space and ideally located for works to pubs and restaurants. The woodburner made the place so cozy and warm ideal for winter getaways The only feedback would be there is very little outside space which we knew about but they could do a little more with what was there as the outside furniture needed updating
The Sycamore was perfect! A lovely, comfy ,well laid out holiday home.lovely bedroom ,a comfy bed great size bathroom with a great shower. We loved the apartment it was perfect for our needs. Its in a brilliant location and was lovely and peaceful. Parking is supplied.,a bonus! We walked to two local cafes for breakfast, both great and in the evening to local pubs. Loved our stay and would love to come back when visiting the Cotswolds as perfect. Thank you for the welcome bottles of wine and flapjacks ,a lovely touch.
Ridge barn is spacious & easily accommodates a bigger group of people . Location is fairly rural with nearest town maybe 4/5 miles away. Barn is well equipped for the number of people staying which is appreciated. One thing that could be improved on is dishwasher ….it’s not cleaning too well but easy fix needs salt & rinse aid … All in all if you’re group it’s a very easy comfortable fit .
Our stay at Rose Tree Cottage was just what we had wanted. A country cottage close to walks, pubs and places of interest. The lemon drizzle cake on arrival was delicious. Heather and David were friendly hosts assisting with our questions. Winstons ice cream was worth 2 visits and within walking distance up the hill. If we are lucky enough to return to The Cotwolds we would return to Rose Tree Cottage. Thank you so much. Regards The Walls Family, South Africa
Absolutely loved it. Would definitely go back. From booking on the website to the emails prior to the stay, locations, where to park, contact if any problems etc. The apartment was in a great location for walking anywhere on an evening in Stow and there is free overnight parking in the square right by the apartment. The apartment was clean and comfortable and William the agent/host was very helpful. I would suggest booking a meal beforehand if you want to eat at the Sheep or Porch House as they usually get fully booked. I would definitely highly recommend this property and would stay ther...more
Our experience was exceptional. The accommodation was pristine and well-appointed, and every little detail had been thought of to ensure a comfortable weekend stay. As for the beds and bedding, this was by far the most comfortable sleep we all had away from home.
We picked to stay at Walltree house due to its proximity and accessibility for guests coming from different parts of the country. We celebrated an amazing family 21st birthday and the house was perfect. The guests were blown away. There was everything you could possibly need at the house which was immaculately clean. Communication during the booking and stay was exceptional. The house is well situated to explore the Cotswolds. My only criticism was that you couldn’t walk to a pub from the house, this would maybe possible in the summer. We had lots of open fires, drinks In the bar and lovely f...more
We had a wonderful stay in the cottage, Stow on the Wold was perfect. The cottage was gorgeous and the parking space was an added bonus. The only downside of our stay was finding stains on Mattress protector when we stripped the bed.
The cotttage was beautiful and very well equipped. The space was huge and perfect for 8 friends sharing. Some minor grievances: - Parking arrangements were slightly annoying - you are advised not to park in front of the neighbours houses but there is nothing to stop someone from parking in front of your home (which someone did for the whole time we stayed). The car park we were advised to park in was also full when we arrived. - The house would benefit from another shower as we all had to use the one in the master bedroom. - The bed in the master bedroom was extremely creaky too and im...more
The cottage was beautiful. We booked it for the entire family to stay for our wedding weekend. The cottage is more than big enough to sleep 9 adults and 4 children. The welcome pack was a nice touch. The entire home is well laid out, has everything you need and very cosy on a wet winters day when we all sat in front of the fire. Highly recommend and cannot wait to book to stay again!
Great location with only a short walk to centre of town for shops, bars and eating out. Good sized pleasant garden that keeps the sun all day and very quiet. Accommodation was clean with small sitting area, adequate kitchen with utilities, 2 good sized bedrooms and excellent shower. Although ok, the sofas could be more comfortable as could the outdoor seating. Upstairs floorboards “creak” heavy when walking on. Impossible to park on street but car park only a minute away and very reasonable - £4:60 per day. All said we enjoyed our stay at Buttercup cottage.
We had a lovely time staying at this property. It was a lovely house but unfortunately it wasn’t very clean.
Lovely cottage and great location, would stay again. Lovely cottage and great location, would stay again. Lovely cottage and great location, would stay again.
A stunning cottage, beautifully presented and in the best location. We loved everything about the cottage. So good having the 3 bathrooms too. Great communication and instructions. I would absolutely return when next in the area. Thank you!
The Barn was a wonderful location and setting for our family birthday celebration as it is close to major roads and railway stations. The fact there are smaller barns in the same courtyard makes it ideal to so that families can have separate accommodation but come together for walks etc in the surrounding countryside. The large living room was ideal to blow out the candles and toast the birthday. The kitchen is really well equipped for catering for large groups. Beds are comfortable and bedrooms generally a good size, having lots of bathrooms is helpful. Only downside was the twin beds that we...more
We loved this property. It was very smart, well decorated and in a great location. We loved the kitchen which was well equipped and had a good flow. The heating system was spot on and felt very comfortable. The separation of 2 houses in one was very clever. Although the lounge area was spacious, it probably needed more seating for 10 people. I would highly recommend this house. Very lovely.
Stayed in Cosy Cross Keys for 4 nights, the cottage was lovely, very comfortable and clean. Well located for all the amenities in Stow.
We stayed at Flat 1 Martins House for four nights and couldn't fault it at all.Everything you would need is there, lovely and clean ,and the beds were so comfy. We were out of season,so it was very quiet. The welcome hamper was a nice gesture.
Enjoyed our stay in this very interesting property! Great location for seeing this part of the Cotswolds! Everything you needed for a lovely stay including a very comfortable and bed!
We had a great stay at Goodlake Barns. The barns are all spacious and well equipped. The Hub provided the perfect place for our large party to gather and celebrate my 70th birthday together. All the barns had a Christmas tree in them which was such a nice festive touch. The weekend could not have been better!
We very much enjoyed our holiday n the Shepherds Hut. It it beautifully fitted inside. We hope to stay again. The only downside was the tiny fridge, which for us could have done with being larger.
Little bird is perfect for a short stay and we’ve just returned from a weekend break. The cottage is incredibly comfortable and cosy with good quality furnishings and a very comfortable bed. The kitchen is equipped for a short stay though could benefit from s couple of items if you are catering for yourselves. That said there’s plenty of cafes and pubs/restaurants in the area offering a great selection. We had several walks from the doorstep with our dog - Bibury is so pretty and whilst very busy we managed to find routes across the countryside to enjoy the peace and beautiful surrounding...more
The cottage was clean and freshly painted but a little cluttered with furniture, pictures and knickknacks.
We stayed in Furrow Barn for a couple of nights whilst we attended a local wedding. The barn was very comfortable and clean and in a beautiful location. Would definitely recommend
We were very pleased with this property, great location and facilities of a good standard. We feel the welcome pack was very poor; 7 satsumas & a small container of milk, we feel that other products which are locally sourced should have been added and advertise local businesses. Finally as we were staying for 3 nights, so 4 logs were inadequate for our 3 night stay. For a small cost an extra bundle would have sufficed.
Rosewood is a beautifully decorated, comfortable cottage in a great location. Blockley is a quiet village other than the start and end of the school day. Will be booking again.
Lovely old Rectory with fantastic views over countryside and plenty space for our family group ranging from aged 7 to age 79 Tiny village with a shop stocking everything. Pub was nice for a drink, but we didn’t enjoy the food there. Excellent kitchen in house for family cooking. Can definitely recommend this property.
Excellent property for a family gathering, spacious and comfortable. The owners have thought through everything to make it a special venue for a special occasion. The one negative is that the floorboards in the bedrooms were noisy but apart from that it was enjoyed by us all including the 2 dogs
Excellent accomodation for a big group gathering, the only drawback was too few crockery, cutlery, chopping knives and teatowels etc
Beautifully decorated, not a detail forgotten. Best home away from home!! Set in stunning grounds, great location. Would definitely recommend, and I will revisit.
Don't think twice about booking this accommodation. The annoying thing is having to write a long review for this site when one word, fantastic, is enough.
This was my first time staying at Vespers, though I’ve stayed at Camden Farm before (usually in Aurora). The Shepherd’s Hut is lovely — it has a slightly different layout that makes the bed area feel very cosy and inviting. The views from the property are absolutely amazing, and I enjoyed seeing plenty of wildlife during my stay. Also the welcome treats are always greatly appreciated!! The hut is situated next to a public walking path, so you may occasionally see a few passersby, but it didn’t detract much from the peaceful atmosphere. There were a couple of minor issues, mainly relating...more
Great location, pubs and shops within easy walking distance. Cozy property on a pretty street with well equipped kitchen. Beds very comfortable.
Spent a long weekend here with my mum and sister. The cottage was spotless and beautifully furnished, retaining old charm with modern additions. Extremely comfortable beds and bedding!! Stairs are steep and bathrooms very snug. The cottage is located in the heart of the picture postcard village making it very photogenic. We stayed during remembrance weekend and chatted with very friendly locals on the green, at the beautiful little community shop and at the pub just opposite (Sunday lunch very good with the best bread and butter pudding we'd ever had!) Everybody was so friendly. The village ...more
Beautiful house, has all the things we needed to cater for a large family. Hot tub and pizza oven were lovely additions to the outside and despite the rain we still managed to enjoy being in the garden. Would definitely record this house and would stay again.
Location for local attractions great. Beautiful hut, well equipped in the kitchen for a weekend stay. Towels and dressing gowns provided for the hot tub. Hot tub was a very nice addition however only minimal wood provided, certainly not enough to run a hot tub and wood fire for even one evening. To get the hot tub warm enough for three nights we used 4 bags of logs (purchased ourselves) so be prepared. Luckily we had good weather so didn’t need to use the log burner. Hut is located in the owners back garden. Fenced off in its own area with trees and a garden but you are facing their pr...more
We had a lovely long weekend in the barna special birthday celebration. Everything was perfect. Thanks!
This is a very quaint and sweet cottage. Our hope was to experience living in a village in a pretty cottage, and this property certainly delivers. It's away from the hustle and bustle of some of the more well-known Cotswold sites, but it was exactly what we here hoping for. It would have been helpful to have manuals available, but we managed to figure most things out (cooker, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer combo) with online searches. A guide to working the TV wasn't needed, but we saw notes written in the back of the visitor comment book. We followed the "no shoes" policy stri...more
Fantastic location for a family plus dog stay in Chipping Norton. Cottage was lovely with the hot tub & welcome goodies an added bonus. Perfect location for dog walks & nearby attractions Bourton On the Water & Diddly Squat. Would highly recommend
A beautiful and historic home in a wonderful Cotswold location. We could not have been more pleased with Middle Gable! And the owner was very responsive and helpful. A top pic in an idyllic Cotswold town. RDD.
Great house, comfortable and cosy, convenient for the pub and surrounding area. Would stay again with friends.
We enjoyed a great stay at Causeway Cottage. It was an extremely well equiped cottage and a delight to stay at. Everything went well. Welcoming treats were very appreciated. I would highly recommend this cottage. Only negative issue was that the mattresses were somewhat saging.
Where to start..wow is all I can say for this beautiful home!! Milk and eggs left in the fridge too! We stayed for 2 nights and had no trouble settling right in before heading to the village for a mulled wine! The bedrooms were so spacious and couldn’t have asked for a better location just half a mile stroll from the pubs and shops. The hot tub was lovely and warm on arrival and even came with a little changing room where we could remove wet clothing before heading back into the house which was ideal. Each room had its own tele but we didn’t use them much as we were out and abo...more
Beautiful house and well located for a family get together, with fantastic walking and local pub to visit without needing the car
A beautiful home that provided excellent accommodation facilities in the heart of Stow on the Wold. This property was absolutely stunning and felt like home the minute we walked through the door. The accommodation also provided a reserved car parking space. We had a fantastic few days in the Cotswolds and the property was one of the main reasons for that. We would love to return and will definitely be selecting Gisleburtus House as our place to stay!
Our stay at Masters House was delightful. Very comfortable and very central to great coffee, food & shops.
Everything you need and more at the Forge. Couldn't fault it in any way. Good central location for getting around the Cotswolds.
Ideal for a large family group, we all enjoyed our stay. Easy walk into the town along a riverside path.
A peaceful and relaxing November stay in the flat which was warm and well equipped. Beautiful landscape and the trees just stunning in their gold and red autumn glory.
This was our third visit - the accommodation really feels like a holiday to us, is wonderfully positioned and always an inspiring setting full of interesting artwork. We go with two young children and it all works really well. The house is also really warm and cosy.
This is a delightful cottage. Clean, comfortable and an excellent location with parking. A real pleasure.
A wonderful little place to stay in Cirencester. Very well positioned to local amenities. Beautiful to stay in and equipped with everything we needed.
My only negative review of this property is that once inside the main gate their are no signs or instructions to find the property it’s self, and trying to find it was very stressful and led me to ring the front door of the Manor House were the lady was very helpful and lead us to the front door of Orchard House. Which was a relief. The property and location were perfect and I’m sure we’ll be back next year.
Well located for visiting the Cotswolds, e.g. gardens. Great place, well designed, very spacious, large nice garden bordering on green hill. Several "corners" to sit. Quite modern. Good sofas, bed, TV etc. No complaints, we can wholeheartedly recommend. The booking process and support seems almost a bit overdone (many separate emails).
3 nights stay with friends for a long awaited catch up. Cannot fault anything. It was spotless and all mod cons provided. Loved the layout that allowed very sociable living so no one missed out whilst cooking etc. We will definitely go back.
A tiny but perfect cottage ideal for us as a couple and our 2 small dogs. Beautifully furnished with interesting photos of the old village, even old photos of the cottage itself, and quality ornaments, very homely. Ideal for both countryside and village walks from the door. Excellent customer service from the agents. A shower fault reported and a plumber sent the same day. We highly recommend this cottage and may well return when visiting relatives in the area.
Lower Barn is nothing short of beautiful. The owners have thought of every practical thing a visitor may need - the property itself is in 5 star condition - and kevin and his team present the property as if it is a 5 star hotel (even down to the bow on the toilet roll ). Location is wonderful - less than a minutes walk through a locked door onto the high street. If you are visiting try la vecchia cantina in the high street one of the best meals we have had in the UK and lower barn has been one of the best places we have stayed. Enjoy!
Princes Barn was a good place to stay on our visit to the Cotswolds, clean and central to the places we wanted to go to.
Large level bungalow with comfortable seating and eclectic mix of décor and furniture. Warm and spotlessly clean.
I absolutely loved my stay at Keeley cottage and hope to be able to return. The cottage is super cute, cozy, comfortable, and has an amazing backyard. It is located right in the center of one of the prettiest villages in the Cotswolds. It is also at the start of Cotswolds Way (amazing walk to Broadway!) and surrounded by scenic walks and National Trust properties to visit. I stayed for a month with my two dogs, and all of us were sad to leave. An absolute gem.
These amazing cottages are cosy and packed full of character and are in a great location in the centre of Stow. Previous reviews had noted that neither the extractor in the top bathroom at Bag End nor the Bag End oven extractor were working, and they were still not working when we visited at the end of November. In addition, the dishwasher in Peppercorn Cottage was not working. Please note there is no microwave or coffee machine in Peppercorn and despite the photographs on the website there is no tv in Peppercorn and toiletries were not provided in either cottage. These are niggles which overa...more
Really beautiful home..fantastic hot tub..fantastic welcome hamper..everything you could wish for..definitely booking again..Christmas market fab and great Italian restaurant…a big thank you
We stayed here for 5 days and it was lovely, a gorgeous place and a gorgeous room! We will suggest this place to others.
A really lovely location which was perfect for a getaway with friends. We hired the stables and the annex for the 6 of us which worked perfectly. We loved the hot tub in the evening and there were plenty of lovely walks locally. James was incredibly helpful when we realised there was no oven for some of the food we bought and let us use the main house which was over and above. The zip wire was great fun (and faster than expected :-) ) A very convenient location to explore the area!
We loved our stay at apple tree cottage. The cottage is well equipped and beautifully decorated. Great for a relaxing weekend away.
Very clean and comfortable well enquired property in a great location. Great base for exploring the area
This is our second stay in this property. Whilst it isn't the usual quintessential Cotswolds cottage that we've previously stayed in,The Mulberries is a lovely alternative. The cottage is in an excellent location for visiting much of the Cotswolds area, it has a lived in feel with quirky niknaks and objects around the property. The beds were all very comfy with lovely white bedding, and the chairs and settee in the sitting room were equally comfortable. The downsides are that the property has no dishwasher, and only one bathroom, though it does have a separate downstairs WC. We really enjoy...more
A very nice well equipped cottage in a pretty area and good location from which to visit some of the best places in the Cotswolds.
Had a lovely stay at Rectory Barn. Kitchen dinning room perfect for gatherings at end of busy day. Living room plenty space to relax. The one thing I would change straight away is the twin room beds . They were very high metal beds uncomfortable and safety hazard if you rolled over.
On the surface, Yew Tree Farmhouse is a beautiful place to stay, a gorgeous property and well decorated and in a great location. We had a brilliant time but would make the following comments - the kitchen is so lovely but lacks basics - I had specifically asked ahead of time if there were casserole dishes big enough for ten people - there were none, only metal baking tins. The baking sheets etc stored in the oven were really dirty, knives were blunt etc. Also we found it impossible to get heat to the upstairs - the downstairs was warm and snug but the heat did not come on in the bedrooms, d...more
My sister and I enjoyed a lovely break in this beautiful cottage. We found it was a great location to visit all the beautiful Cotswold villages. The information provided was very helpful. We used the twin beds which was perfect for us being of the older age group, as the bedroom was on the same level as the bathroom. Thank you
Pear Tree Cottage is fantastic: very cosy and ideal for groups of eight people or families in general. It’s perfectly located, has absolutely everything you need, and is beautifully decorated. We had a small issue with the heating, as it was quite cold, but the hosts solved it quickly and were very attentive throughout. We will definitely come back. Thank you!
We had an incredible weekend in Ringers Cottage. Walking distance from 2 incredible pubs and a short drive away from other lovely Cotswold Towns and Villages. Kevin was very helpful prior to our arrival
A very spacious and well presented property in a lovely quiet location. Kitchen very well equipped, main lounge very comfortable, though seating in the TV room not very comfortable. Three lovely en-suite bedrooms, though bedroom three did lack hanging space. Rear parking space most convenient and very handy, however a designated path across the rear lawn would be an advantage during wet weather. Would return and recommend.
We had lovely stay at The Farmhouse. We were celebrating a big birthday with family, and so glad we chose this impressive house as it was perfect for us all. The house was very clean, all rooms are very spacious & comfortable, beautiful views and ample parking. The amazing owner went above and beyond to make this occasion very special, and the communication before our arrival was excellent. We would love to stay here again one day.
We had a lovely stay at this property. It’s much bigger than expected and feels very cosy with a well-thought-out layout. The décor is beautiful, and the fire in the top room was especially cosy and very easy to use. Unfortunately, the fire on the ground floor wasn’t working during our stay, so we weren’t able to use it. There were five of us staying, but we were only provided with one and a half toilet rolls and half a kitchen roll, which felt a little insufficient for the number of guests. The property was clean overall, although we did notice quite a few cobwebs. Despite these small i...more
We had an extremely enjoyable week at the cottage,it is well presented and v extensively equipped. Good location, for many historical towns and villages. We loved the quirkiness of the cottage, antique and characterful furniture and features, while being excellently updated and eye pleasing. Lots of kitchen equipment, cleaning materials, towels dish clothsetc.,so extremely generous and well appointed.Thank you, highly recommend l.b to other guests Benefit of a pretty garden, weather permitting! ☺️
This cottage was really beautiful and had everything we could have needed. The Village it was in was also incredibly picturesque. We had chosen this house as it said it was walking distance to a pub and that wasn't the case sadly so we had to drive or use taxis to go out for an evening meal. The property is well situated for accessing lots of other lovely cotswold towns and villages.
the house is beautiful and in an excellent location for visiting the cotswolds. the pub down the road offers a varied menu and very friendly . There is everything in the house that you need to make your stay comfortable. There are numerous rooms each offering a different outlook all very spacious. Would recommend this house.
We had a fab time at Honeysuckle House - every year 4 uni friends and our partners rent somewhere for the weekend - this year we had 3 babies in tow. The house was perfect for what we wanted - a massive kitchen with a great island to congregate around and a huge dining table. Micki the host was really helpful and we had a lovely weekend.
We had a lovely stay at the cottage. We were a group of 8 with 2 dogs and there was plenty of space. The living room is bigger in real life than in the pictures and houses everyone comfortably in the evenings by the fire. Pub across the road is great and the walk to Stow takes 15-20 minutes. Will definitely be back to stay at the cottage again!
Loved Walnut Barn. Beautiful country setting. Beds, linen, towels of excellent quality and kitchen was well equipped. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub! The football and tennis courts were ideal as we had 2 children with us. Couldn’t use balls though as they needed inflating. Had Sunday dinner at The duck in the Pond which was excellent. Negatives- key code info only provided 2 hours before our arrival. Also request for late checkout not possible due to ‘ cleaning schedule’ A pity.
We all had a fantastic time at the beautiful property , Plenty of room for everyone, really comfortable. dog loved it as well . Lots of great walks, lovely village pub , loads of great road and trail runs for the more active . Wonderful views across the Cotswold countryside . Very helpful lady came as we first arrived to assist with oven and heating, she also made sure we were all ok and to contact her if we had issues during our stay .Log burner very straightforward to use , with plenty of logs about to use . Overall an excellent property . Thank you .
We had a fantastic stay in Stow on the Wold at the Chapel (2 couples). The decor was fabulous, very comfy and had everything we needed. The second room is very small with no storage but we were aware of this before booking so it was fine for us. We used the storage in the hallway to hang clothes etc. We had a slight issue with the boiler not working (fuse had gone) which meant no hot water. Unfortunately we struggled to get hold of the hosts initially, however, the guys managed to get us up and working until the host called back later that day. We popped to the shop around the corner whe...more
The cottage was lovely and warm on arrival as it was cold outside. The beds were extremely comfortable, the rooms were clean and family friendly. Would definitely return.
Fire was not laid, had the remains of an old fire. Sofas had seen better days and weren't very comfy at all. Usually when I go away there is a book of walks but there was nothing to show where we could walk. Once again usually there are books and games to play but there was nothing other than an old jigsaw and an incomplete pack of cards. Duvets were poor quality having areas where there was no filling so bits of you were getting cold and bits were too warm. Pillows were really insubstantial too. I also found all the emails regarding portals and guide books and downloading this book and upload...more
Lulham was absolutely ideal for our annual pre-Christmas get together of long established friends. The location was chosen because of the festive and picturesque nature of the Cotswolds villages and the close proximity to Blenheim Palace. The house was clean, spacious, well appointed, warm and welcoming and parking was more than adequate. The beautiful village of Bourton on the Water was a comfortable stroll away. The only minor downsides were a lack of wardrobe/hanging space in some of the bedrooms and a couple of the beds were a little rickety and uncomfortable. The help and responsivene...more
We had an amazing stay in Glebe cottage for a family birthday. The cottage is in a beautiful quiet location with a super pub The Kings Head a few minutes walk away and a community shop just round the corner. Lovely dog walks with some great views. The cottage is super cosy, very well equipped throughout and comfortable beds. It is beautifully maintained throughout and we would not hesitate to stay here again.
Great location, so tranquil, loved all the walks on the doorstep. You don’t need to use your car. Stow only a 10/15 minutes walk where there are an abundance of shops, good quality restaurants, bars and cafes. Dog friendly too. The cottage was comfortable, beautifully clean and had everything you needed. Absolutely loved our stay, thank you!
Five of us celebrated a 60th birthday in the Cotswolds and enjoyed the comfort of Harvey’s cottage. Despite arriving in a deluge, the cottage warmed up quickly, stove easy to get going. The downstairs area makes the cottage perfect for a group of adults, well equipped kitchen, dining room extension and spacious warm living room. Beds comfy. The only drawback was the tiny shower cubicle in the top en-suite. The shower head had had it and the design meant you couldn’t swing a soap on a teeny rope. If you like baths the bathroom below will be fine. Village shop and pub completed the enjoyable wee...more
The property was conveniently located near Burton on the Water. It was clean and well presented. The host left some welcome items (bread, eggs, jam, milk) which was a wonderful touch. I would highly recommend. Like all places in the UK beware of the no aircon during hot periods as the top room gets awfully hot.
The property was really warm and comfy, and immaculately presented/cleaned. The location was brilliant too, right in the centre of Stow but without any traffic noise. Would love to come back for a second visit.
Cottage was lovely nice area lovely village, overall nothing wrong cottage could do with deep clean, well equipped.
We had an amazing weekend in Milton House. It's easily accessible from the train station and all the rooms are so cozy!
We had a very enjoyable cosy stay with everything we needed, location was excellant for the town and surrounding area.
A beautiful and very cozy spacious cottage and garden, fully equipped. I loved the very tasteful interior with all it’s lovingly done details. The typical Cotswolds sights and villages are all within 45 minutes drive( which can be a bit challenging on the narrow roads of the area if you’re not used to driving on the left hand side). I enjoyed every minute of my stay. Thank you!
Cozy cottage, perfect location which is close enough to walk into the lovely Stow with all its amenities but still very quiet and peaceful for a restful sleep. The perfect base for us. However, what was disappointing was the second bed and the hot tub. The second bed was like a board, I had read this in reviews but decided to risk it. I can’t believe the owner hasn’t changed it, they certainly know about it because they’ve put a thick mattress topper on - it didn’t help any. The hot tub was a great disappointment. We specifically hunted out a cottage that had one and of course paid a pre...more
A lovely cottage in the picture postcard village of lower slaughter .Very well equipped with everything you need for a weeks stay furnished to a high standard with lovely comfy beds. The village pub is a bit touristy but plenty of beautiful country pubs within a couple of miles drive all serving good food . Great walking from the doorstep in the surrounding countryside. Would definitely stay again
The cottage is in a great location and was perfect in size for two couples. Lovely large kitchen if you decide to self cater and cosy living room. Few cobwebs and dust here and there, also the sofa was a little grubby and smelt of wet dog a bit which I guess is because previous guests have allowed their dogs on it sadly. The bed linen and towels however were very fresh and clean.
Myrtle Cottage is a lovely home from home in a lovely place. I feel there is a little confusion over the name, we arrived in the dark and could only find Myrtle House so this caused a little worry until we realised that they are one and the same. The cottage is well equipped, so if you want to cook rather than eat out everything you need is there. The conservatory is a lovely addition but could have been made more comfortable and cosy as the day bed in there was a little high to sit comfortably on and it was a nice place for coffee or just to read. The addition of a blind in the shower room wo...more
We enjoyed a lovely 4 night break in this tiny cottage. Really is only for 2 people, but it is very clean and well equipped, although could do with a microwave! Although clean, because the sofa is cream it looks dirty and is not overly comfortable. Also there was no heating on when we arrived and the cottage was freezing as it was only 2 degrees outside. It took 2 days to heat up. It would have been nice if someone had put the heating on in the morning so it was warm to come into. Also, although a welcome pack was left most of the items only had one day left on them so were no use. The hot wa...more
Excellent property with everything one could want including a well stocked kitchen, swimming pool, lots of outdoor space, hot tub, zip wire, and so much more! A variety of living spaces that suited our needs really well, and dog friendly! Will certainly return in the future. Thank you Keepers Lodge and Stay Cotswold!
Clean well appointed comfortable accomodation. Nicely set in courtyard. Ideal for multifamily gatherings
Excellent location to explore the cotswalds. Within walking distance of the town. The kitchen is quite tired looking. Dishwasher door hanging to the side and a draw did not close properly which effected the top draw. The shower was not very powerful. Not big issues and we still had a lovely time. But perhaps the kitchen needs some tlc.
The property was in an excellent and quiet location within a reasonable stroll to Bourton on Water. It was generally very well equipped. The bed was comfortable but would have been better if it had been a king size bed- I know the sloping ceiling made this difficult but I think it would have been doable. The main downside of the cottage for us was it wasn’t very warm. Also we didn’t like the type of curtains downstairs as at nighttime anyone outside could see in - even if not that clearly. It made me feel a bit insecure.
We booked this again as it was continently placed for us to visit various places we were interested in. Also with our dogs once gates closed they could wander around safely. Off road parking a massive help.
spacious for 4 guests with fully furnished interiors. 20 minutes drive to Cotsworld animal farm. Host is accommodating
We enjoyed our stay at Perry Cottage, the garden is excellent with comfortable garden chairs and well fenced for our small dog. The Cottage was warm and comfortable and the bed was exceptionally both in size and comfort.
The Smart heating system was set at 20 degrees with no option of instructions for us on how to control it - but a number to call.,All 5 of us of different ages ranging from 27 to 69 found this too hot at night for sleep. On the first night we didn't realise that the system would stay on and that we would be hot and so aftter a sleepless night, contacted the named person on Saturday morning who said she would sort it out. Saturday night was boiling again despite the fact that we had all the windows open and we again could hear the boiler firing on and off again all night. On Sunday morning, we...more
The cottage is located on a quiet street 5 minute walk to the town centre.3 minute walk to the entrance to Blenheim Palace grounds. The cottage is beautifully decorated and as we stayed in November we lit the log burner each night. Very well equipped kitchen. Bathroom great size with roll top bath and a massive shower. Stairs as you would expect in a small cottage are steep not for the faint hearted. Floors upstairs are sloping which was fun and caused us a laugh or 2. Highly recommend Blenheim cottage.
A wonderful little cottage for a family break with everything you need to make the most of your escape from busy city life. There are beautiful walking options. Additionally, the lovely Cirencester is just a 5-minute drive away if you want to explore and have a nice day out. It is a highly recommended experience, and we look forward to booking again soon.
Archway House was very quirky and beautiful. Everything you needed. Suggest hand rail for shower mat inside bath. So well designed. Stairs good for exercise.
We had a wonderful stay at this lovely old house which offered great facilities including a swimming pool and a games room. Although the kitchen was divided between two rooms, it didn’t detract from an enjoyable experience. It proved to be the perfect setting for our family weekend gathering of ten. The elegant dining area was ideal for celebrating a special 70th birthday dinner and with two local pubs and a nearby shop, we had everything we needed for a relaxing long weekend away.
I would have given 5 stars but only giving 2 starts for three basic and important let downs: 1. The electric blinds did not work on the windows, ie could not open. So no light came through in accommodation! Dark all the time. 2. Couldn’t open the windows as blinds didn’t work. So no fresh air whatsoever! 3. Poor TV reception. These were obvious issues that should have been checked prior to any stay. On the plus - great location. The place itself very clean and great facilities/condition. When I asked issues to be addressed, nothing was sorted! A real shame!! Would recommend if the three ...more
Really lovely place to stay. Incredible value, perfect for our first holiday with our dog. Great if you need a secure garden.
Lovely house in lovely location excellent for a family get together. Great pubs and two wonderful cafes in the village too.
such a nice house. perfect for 3 couples. great kitchen and sitting room and plenty of dining space.
A well-appointed cottage with good facilities in a great location. The sofa felt a bit spongy and the beds were softer than we prefer, but overall comfortable. Clearer guidance on parking would have been helpful.
An excellent cottage in a great central location to visit the Cotswolds. The village was very pleasant, with friendly residents, a few of which I chatted to. Great to have the bakery, butchers shop and newsagent altogether about a 2 minute walk away - fantastic pastries. There was no welcome basket as mentioned in other reviews, but not an issue. Our only issue was the road noise, being on the main road through the village; this was not terrible by any means, but noticeable. I will add that we live in a very quiet hamlet in Cornwall with no road noise, so our view might be a bit skewed by that...more
Lovely converted stables. Quiet yet walkable to a really good pub. Comfy beds with quality linens. Stylish living spaces, with nice views towards a grand house. Handy to have washing machine and tumble dryer for a week long stay. We had a bit of an issue with dozy wasps each morning (presume there is a nest within roof space above one of the dormer windows) that needed removing. The property could do with a few more kitchen items eg another sharp knife, and hooks in the bathroom but don’t let these minor things put you off. I would recommend.
We absolutely loved our stay. Good location - in a village with a pub within walking distance and an ideal base for exploring the Cotswolds. Gorgeous house - comfortable beds, plenty of space including a lovely garden with BBQ.
My family and I spent a wonderful weekend at Pickwick in Churchill. A lovely Cotswold cottage in a lovely quiet village, with added bonus of village pub that served delicious food. The house was so welcoming we didn’t want to leave. Cosy clean and really everything you would need for family meals to cosy nights by the fire. Thoroughly recommend and would go back
Casa cómoda, muy bien decorada y con una cocina maravillosa . Muy bien situada en el centro de los Cotswold para hacer excursiones.
At first glance, the apartment looked clean, but upon closer inspection, this was anything but true. The kitchen cabinets were dirty, and both bathroom windows were filthy. Clouds of dust lay under the bed. We also found both mattresses very uncomfortable.
A lovely well maintained property in an ideal position plus parking. Great for eating out. Would definately return.
We had a lovely weekend at The Glen. The cottage is spacious, warm and comfortable including the beds. Its location in the pretty Ilmington village with two great pubs and country walks was perfect. Where it mattered was clean, however we felt the cottage could do with a deep clean including the cooker. We also would have preferred an earlier check in, arriving at 5pm in heavy traffic and darkness wasn’t ideal. The WiFi and phone reception was poor. The positives however definitely outweighed the few negatives so we would love to return to this lovely cottage.
Just perfect for what we needed. A mostly quiet lane leads to the property and once there there are plenty of footpath walks of various lengths although all of them contain hills, mostly steep, long, or both. Central for Chipping Norton, Morton-in-Marsh, Stow on the Wold, ect. About a 3 mile walk to Dalesford and the same to the Wild Rabbit. Very comfortable and spacious for four adults
We have stayed at Star Cottage 3 times now. It’s always well equipped and beds are really comfortable. We always arrive to a welcome pack which is appreciated after a long journey. The reason we stay there when we go to the Cotswolds is that it is in a good location and easy to get to different places we want to visit eg. Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water, Broadway, Burford. Farmer’s Dog is a must, if you can manage to book! We have discovered the Red Lion in Long Compton. Lovely food, lovely staff and lovely rooms! The only negatives we have for Star Cottage is I found it not very ...more
We enjoyed a relaxing 4night break in Punch Barn, a converted barn/stable complex on a working farm. It's situated in a quiet, pretty hamlet, which has no amenities, so you'll need a car to explore the surrounding area and to eat out. Good quality furnishings and fittings and everything we needed to enjoy our 4 night break away. The kitchen area could benefit from some additional task lighting and the black bin bag collection area needs better signposting, but these are minor issues which did not detract from a very pleasant stay. Shelley was most helpful and friendly and we would love to co...more
A group of 5 of us had a lovely relaxing stay here.Theres a few lovely village pubs within walking distance & a convenience store too.
A cute cottage with a good location. Many great eating places very close by. The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The stairs are challenging but only because of my age and reduced mobility
We can't rate The Manor House highly enough. We wish we could have stayed for longer but our stay was to celebrate my Mums 80th birthday over a weekend. The location is fantastic to get to the high lights of the Cotworlds with Broadway only 10 minute derive away. Evesham was also close by for a big food shop. There is also an Indian restaurant 2 minute walk from the Manor House which does the best Indian food that we had ever tasted. The staff couldn't have done more to make our party feel welcome and my Mum enjoy her birthday. The Manor House itself was more than what we could have aske...more
We very much enjoyed our stay. It was comfortable and warm. The house is well fitted out. There were just a couple of things that could be improved: • The sign for Quaint End is not possible to read and needs both replacing and put in a more obvious place. Arriving in the dark it was very difficult to find and the only reason we knew we were in the right once was because the key lock worked! • While the description from StayCotswold is good, there is in fact only one TV, not two, and there is no DVD player (the description said there was one). Also the TV only worked (from time to tim...more
The cottage was a great getaway destination for a university reunion. Cosy and stylishly decorated. Located very close to the town centre, with all amenities on your doorstep. Drawbacks are the one small bathroom and internal windows to two of the bedrooms which do not have proper curtains and therefore let in light from the stairwell.
The old sweet shop is a great place to stay. Very comfortable with plenty of space and everything you could want. We really enjoyed the charm of the building. Only downside is parking and although we parked through the alleyway on the very wet days was a little annoying but manageable. But would still book again for the charm and comfort of the cottage.
We absolutely loved our 4-day stay at Greenview Cottage. It really is the idyllic chocolate box cottage set in a tranquil village overlooking a green, surrounded by 18th-century cottages, a red telephone box and a cosy country pub a few minutes walk. The cottage is very well-appointed and finished to a very high standard. The kitchen is stocked like a home kitchen; we baked cookies, we cooked a roast, there is everything you could need. We spent cosy evenings by the log burner playing chess and draughts and eating cheese from Burford. There are loads of lamps dotted around the cottage, so ...more
We used this as a base for exploring the Dursley and Leonard Stanley areas of Gloucestershire for family history research. The location of the cottage was very convenient for this. The cottage was very clean and well equipped and we were pleased that there was off-road parking. We felt that the furnishings and colour schemes had been thoughtfully chosen and were very suitable for a cottage property. There were two areas we felt could be improved. It would be helpful and safer, particularly for older guests, if a handrail was provided on the stairs. Also we think that the description of the pat...more
If you are elderly or disabled I can’t whole hearted recommend this property. Check the description carefully.”We contacted the agency prior to booking querying the suitability of the property as being ok for a person with mobility issues but were not sufficiently warned of the problems.
Cosy property quiet area comfortable beds Had everything we required to prepare meals Beautiful farm shop nearby Jolly’s Close to amenities
8 adults had a very comfortable stay at Green Farm House . The accommodation was very spacious and the kitchen extremely well equipped . We enjoyed an open fire with wood and kindling provided . All of us had a lovely time .
We had a lovely mini winter break away at Tukes Cottage. The communication regarding the cottage was very good & as a result of this, the check-in & out was very efficient. The cottage was in lovely condition, very warm which was good with the cold weather outside, both the kitchen and bathroom were lovely with a fab shower and everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. All 3 beds were very comfortable and the property was located in a quiet location. The only downside was the parking which we knew about in advance, it would make more sense I think to ensure a car could park outside t...more
We had a very pleasant stay at Cider Press Cottage. Very well located and well equipped. The bed needs a new mattress but the rest of the cottage was very comfortable and cosy.
On arrival we as a group of 8 found the house not as expected for a 5 star listed property. Both front and rear entrance steps / ramp were covered in green slippery lichen which with a disabled person in tow was difficult. We had to clean the steps as best as we could. Had to request a handle to assist access to the kitchen which was fitted a couple of days later. Overall felt like it has been sometime since the house was cleaned thoroughly or decorated. Signs of mould in the WC off the lounge and the lock was broken. We like to cook when we stay as a group as well as eat out however the elect...more
The house was well presented with ample room for 4 adults. Downside- grill was dirty, shower leaked in main bathroom, gate broken. The latter two issues had previously been identified in the guest book. Good location for touring the Cotswolds.
My partner and I booked a weekend getaway from the city, and our cottage was perfect in every way we could have hoped for. The location was ideal, and the interiors were both beautiful and exceptionally comfortable, reflecting the high quality of the property. While we did encounter a couple of small issues, the customer service team was friendly, attentive, and resolved everything quickly. Overall, it was a truly wonderful experience, and we look forward to booking with Stay Cotswold again!
We were a family of 5 adults, and the Mill at Blockley was perfect for us. We liked that it was in a quiet part of the Cotswold, but still very close to everything we wanted to see and do. It was great to have a Cafe and Co-op Shop within a 5-6 minute walk away. The Pub around the corner was also great and we enjoyed a couple of visits there, including to have dinner one night, which was excellent.
cute cottage in a lovely village opposite a fantastic pub. Perfect as a base but would benefit from more amenities such as toiletries, hoover, pots and pans, freezer and storage. Parking is free after 6pm but there’s a car park a short walk for £1.50 for the day.
Unfortunately we didn’t enjoy staying at this property. The cleanliness was not great and I wonder if they just rely on the previous visitors to do it to a high standard and therefore don’t check thoroughly. There were crumbs on the table, in the fridge etc. Food items left by previous visitors with no use by dates so just left over and over again, I imagine. The sofas are really low with no substance to them. We took all the scatter cushions to try and get comfortable but that didn’t work so we avoided getting back too early and left early morning. The bed was comfortable but the wardrobes ha...more
We stayed at Ford Bank Cottage in early August and absolutely loved it. A beautiful place to stay – stylishly decorated and very well equipped. It’s only a couple of minutes’ walk to the local pub, which we also highly recommend – 5-star food and excellent service. Would definitely return
The annexe is spacious and well equipped. The shared garden is large and secure, however there was some work undertaken during ourstay and a gate was removed. The level of cleanliness was fairly good (bedding, cutlery, crockery, bathroom suite, hardfloors etc) however the rugs were hairy, the freezer was iced up and contained bags of ice left by previous visitors, I found this unpleasant, and the oven could have done with a little clean. The extractor was visibly very dusty and the high level dusting had been neglected, leaving trailing dust over the shower and bed etc. We were surprised ...more
Well appointed for a cosy stay in the Winter. Location perfect for a walking break, easy parking and the housekeeper is extremely efficient!
Had a great stay - lovely big place - warm and cosy- helpful reception and very clean . Comfy beds, nice linen. Perfect for large group. We had a wet weekend but the outside would be lovely in good weather. Easy access to Stow and other villages. Very rural - lovely. Great walks near by . Would return .
Wonderful cottage, well equipped to host 5 couples celebrating a big birthday. The garden is secure and suitable for dogs, Local pub serves delicious food and has a great atmosphere. Also its around the corner from the The Pig Hotel and its spa. Annabel was a wonderful host, who was keen to ensure we were warm and comfortable in her delightful cottage. I suspect we will return again soon.
The cottage is just perfect for a cosy get away with friends! It’s like being in the holiday! My girlfriends and I stayed and it’s perfect for a weekend away the apartments really cosy and beautiful. The village has a gorgeous farm shop (Cotswold guy literally underneath the apartment) and a wonderful pub and everyone was so friendly. It’s a very remote village but we went on long walks to other pubs and drove to Daylesford farm shop just a perfect place for a get away
We stayed at stonecrop for a weekend away, we got the train there and the location was perfect. Inside the cottage is beautiful, modern and clean but still with a Cotswold cottage feeling. There’s plenty of pubs and restaurants in the area and lots of walking routes which take you to other villages. Highly recommend, we can’t wait to come back!
Snowdrop cottage was ideal for our short two night break in Chipping Norton. It was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Town centre was a convenient short walk. We had good meal in the Chequers, lively pub with friendly staff. Not many negatives but perhaps could benefit from blind in bathroom and lock on door. Would happily return.
My hubby took me away for my 60th birthday... The cottage itself was nice enough but we had travelled nearly 5 hrs and there wasnt any coffee milk or tea provided which was a shame tbh...bed was comfy, but the pillows were shockingly uncomfortable:( there was a.few issues with the carbon monoxide unit kept bleeping, I called the owner couple of times during the evening and texted, but no answer, eventually my hubby went next door and they came to change the batteries!, there is a smell of fumes too from the cupboard where the boiler is. Think there needs to be more ventilation tbh...was wor...more
Wonderful stay at Callow Cottage, very clean and tidy and lovely inside. However, the main bedroom at the top, the bed was very uncomfortable and I think broken as very creaky just by sitting on it and it effected sleep. The sofa was also abit uncomfortable as it’s quite low and kept separating. But I would definitely come back and stay here as my family and I had a lovely stay and the location to everywhere was perfect!!
We arrived to find the hot tub was cold . Inadequate parking for a party if six . Broken chair in kitchen which my Grandson almost fell off .Very soiled seat pads . Broken chair in bedroom very dangerous lamp not working .Dog hairs found on headboard. Our Grandson lost his dinky car under the settee !We pulled it out and was horrified at the filth and litter underneath. Very very disappointed with our stay and a complete waste of of money .
This is a gorgeous house and setting, let down by cleanliness, dirty pans, and the ingrained dirt around the cooker is awful, it needs a deep deep clean. Garden overgrown and patio had animal faeces so we didn't go out. King size bed in master room has a double sized duvet, which took us time to work out as we never had enough duvet. Cottage is in a beautiful setting, I loved the furniture in the living room and the decor around the house. It's so beautiful and charming, just let itself down. Also this should be know before you go in to the house, we found out after we found the...more
We had a fab time at Elm Barn. It was well kitted out and perfect for our family week away. The grounds were lovely. Only downside is that it said it was walking distance to the local pub but this would have been on busy main roads so not ideal with small children.
Clares cottage is a great cottage at the heart of the village close to amenities. The team provided everything you need, but attention to detail is a bit lacking. Time or something got away from the cleaning team and there was evidence. The fire is a lovely touch until you realise the tools are lacking. So difficult to clean out the fireplace. Nice space outside, lovely furniture in the main, and warm with the heaters.
We enjoyed the surrounding, good equipped kitchen and the lovely living room. However, the oven was very dirty and some rooms would need some renovation. Nevertheless, it is a good place to be and we will return if possible.
Great location in the heart of the village. Lovely cottage. Good value for money. Parking a bit tricky although pay carparks are within walking distance.
I stayed at Normal Chapel with some friends. The cottage is absolutely beautiful, clean and has all the facilities you need. Would definitely return!
A nice spacious apartment with lovely countryside views, although close to the main road, so there was some traffic noise. We had problems opening and closing the front door of the apartment, which was sticking quite badly, so think this needs adjusting. The second bedroom was on the small size for a double bed, so no space for any storage, apart from a small hanging rail. The kitchen was lacking a few things eg. washing up bowl, and some instructions for the appliances would have been helpful, but we managed ok. Overall though, the apartment was comfortable and warm and my friend and I enjoy...more
Very clean, nice comfy beds and spacious. The area is lovely and the local pub The Wychwood Inn is very nice and friendly. My only improvements would be a proper frying pan and better kitchen utensils, as could bake a cake, but not easily fry an egg! Also, perhaps some extra bean bags in sitting room for bigger groups. Lovely house and recommended for sure.
A beautiful cottage filled with character on a lovely street, in gorgeous Winchcombe. Lovely walks, pubs and restaurants within walking distance and a perfect base to explore such a beautiful area. Thank you!
Stayed for 3 nights in November, the location is great, you can walk down to the river from just outside the cottage. The bed is huge and very comfy, lovely bathroom and a very cosy living room. Perfect for a quiet relaxing weekend hideaway. There were just a few things stopping me giving 5 stars for everything. I know it’s in the country side and some are to be expected but there were so many cobwebs all over the cottage, especially in the dressing room, which was looking a little tired with some wallpaper peeling. Some things were just looking a little tired, the cottage would just benef...more
The house itself was lovely!… on arrival we found downstairs toilet blocked which caused major problem for one of our disabled guests! Pillow’s definitely need replacing… sofas not good for anyone over 40 who has problems getting up and down, they were so low!.. Positives good selection crockery and cutlery, nice big lounge, lovely log burner… beautiful outlook… if changes were made might consider returning.
What a beautiful stay this was! Rose cottage is absolutely gorgeous. The cottage was super clean, and the heating had been left on for us so it was nice and warm on arrival. The facilities made it a comfortable stay for 5 adults and two children. It was spacious yet cosy. Our host, Andy, was great from start to finish. He was responsive and catered to all requests. The location is great for access to all the Cotswolds has to offer.
We loved our stay at this cottage. Great location, beautiful city, and comfortable home. We'd return.
Our stay at the cottage was absolutely exceptional! The place was spotless, beautifully maintained, and had every amenity we could possibly need. Becky was fantastic at communicating with us throughout our stay — so friendly and responsive, which made everything feel effortless. The property felt very secure and peaceful, and the hot tub was absolutely lush — the perfect way to unwind in the evenings. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.
Our 2nd stay at Winterberry Cottage and we will return again soon, location is ideal being very close to Cirencester and yet we can also enjoy the beauty of the outlying villages.
A lovely weekend stay, good central location. Fabulous pub in the village. What 3 words directions not great unfortunately, definitely needs a sign post near the rd. lovely large barn, can’t really comment on all the amenities I. The barn as we ate out.
Lovely cottage within easy walking distance of Stow on the Wold. Ideal for our party of 3 adults and 2 dogs. It would be useful to have details of the waste/recycling requirements as not all areas are the same.
Cosy character cottage situated a stones throw from the main High Street in Moreton in Marsh which has a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. Very close to the bus stops and train station if you want to leave the car behind and make use of good transport links (which we did). Car parking was located at the top of the road (opposite the Church), was free and there were ample spaces when we stayed. The Cottage was exactly what we wanted - full of charm although the quirky staircases from ground to first and first to second floor bedrooms were quite steep so may not be suitable for ...more
Just a short 2 minute drive from hook Norton, beautiful cottage with large enclosed garden. Lovely furnishings and log fire to keep warm and a bottle of wine as a gift. Great value for money in the area for 4 people and a dog. Thank you for a great stay!
The house is located in a lovely area with lots of small villages to explore, with lots of coffee shops! The house is situated in a quiet corner, away from neighbours. Although we didn't utilize the garden furniture, due to the cooler weather, it was good to see this was available in both the back and front gardens. My main concern was that the property could sleep 15 and we were a party of 11 but with only one basic cooker, ie one oven, 4 rings on the hob and a small toaster, feeding everyone was a little challenging! Also there was only limited freezer and fridge room as these were both...more
We had a delightful four-night stay at the cottage. It was wonderfully equipped, cozy, and situated in a serene location with plenty of walking paths nearby. The shortbread we received as the welcome pack was a lovely. The towels and bedding were of excellent quality, and the beds were very comfortable. However, we did notice a few things that could be improved. The original listing mentioned a local pub that serves food, but unfortunately, it has been closed since 2023. The main bedroom would benefit from having an additional bedside lamp, as there is currently only one. The silicone oven ...more
Such a lovely home and had all the amenities needed for our group of 4 adults and two little ones. Looked exactly like the photos but even better and the kitchen was a dream for our week long stay. The water was hot and the fireplace was great for the crisps winter weather. We can not recommend this home enough!
We had a fabulous stay at Norton cottage. Everything was to an incredibly high standard and the guest services were incredibly helpful. Our only recommendation is for a clothing rack in the third floor bedroom as there is no wardrobe.
This beautifully decorated and perfectly furnished quirky yet elegant Bothy couldn’t be the more perfect place from which to see Bibury. You are a two minute walk from the bridge so can walk down early before visitors arrive and as the sun is setting when they’ve gone home. There is a cafe a minutes walk away which opens at 8:30am. WiFi, shower, oven, etc, all perfect and the feel of the place is cozy and fun. I will definitely stay again and recommend it whole heartedly.
A return visit to peaceful, detached cottage and good location. Sorry to see being advertised for sale. Garden could be tended and planted to enhance appeal and interior needs deep clean, otherwise satisfied with property. Easy on-road parking but need to carry up steps from road
Lovely cottage for a short weekend break. Site contact excellent through stay to make sure everything was OK.
We enjoyed our weeks stay at Heath Cottage. Very clean, comfortable and the location was perfect for walking into Stow and exploring the neighbouring towns and villages. Lovely little enclosed garden which was ideal as we had a dog with us and also appreciated the reserved car space behind the property. My only criticism which isn’t really anything to do with the cottage but did affect our stay was the constant noise from the traffic 24/7 seven days a week from the busy road that runs past the cottage. This was stated in the description but I didn’t realise what a busy road it would be all d...more
It’s a lovely house and in a fantastic location for enjoying Chipping Campden and the Cotswolds. We enjoyed the sociable kitchen/diner and it was fun to play pool while supper was cooking! However, the cleanliness was an issue as a number of the carpets and rugs didn’t appear to have been cleaned or hoovered for our arrival. In the kitchen, the grill pan was also dirty and we were disappointed that there was no salt or pepper mill. We were also disappointed that we didn’t have any wood provided so we couldn’t have a fire on our first night, which would have been nice as it was November. ...more
We absolutely loved our stay here – the whole experience was magical from start to finish. The cottage itself is full of character and charm, really clean, and beautifully kept. Every detail felt thoughtful, and it had a really cosy, welcoming atmosphere. We slept well and found the beds very comfy. There is parking right outside. The outdoor pool is very close, right next to the village shop! The cottage is tucked away in an award-winning village that feels like something out of a storybook. There's a fantastic little village shop just a short stroll away, and we especially loved visiting...more
We had a pleasant stay in Summer Hayes and the location was perfect for us. When we were there, the weather was quite cold with frosts at night. The heating in the cottage was more than adequate except for the small downstairs bedroom which was cold. This was not a problem as there was only two of us so we rarely went into that room. On the whole the central heating was good and the little electric “log-burner” stove was very efficient. Positives: Great location, cosy and warm, spacious kitchen, plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses etc. which was good as we had invited three friends for dinn...more
Stayed a number of times at wendle cottage , loved it every time , perfect position for all amenities, Will be back again in the near Future
The cottage was great, we have stayed in stow many times and the location was perfect. The cottage had everything we needed however could have been prepared more for a holiday with a toddler. Ideally a baby gate set up prior to arrival. This was probably the only thing for us which would have helped a lot. I should have specified this prior to visiting so probably my fault. Parking generally was ok, it was a little tough to get a space if you left through the day and come back later on. It’s first come first served but it’s free and right outside the cottage row. Parking was also found on t...more
The Nest is very suitable for only two persons and the location is perfect for visiting all the beautiful villages of the Cotswolds, We loved the quiet and nice place and all the useful amenities. Nearby you can start interesting walks through the beautiful countryside using a big variety of footpaths !
We spent a few days in this nice traditional cottage. The location is very good, just 5 minutes walk from High Street and atlhough there is no private parking place, there is Long Stay carpark just 2 minutes away where you can park for 4 pounds per day. The kitchen is very light and spacious and well equipped. The living room is cosy and characteristic. The bedrooms upstairs are comfortable but not very big, especially the smaller one. The beds were very comfortable. The modern bathroom is downstairs and is well equipped. However, the shower is only a Rain Forest shower and there was no pos...more
Great house in a lovely location- nice pubs within walking distance and a short drive to great locations in the cotswolds. House desperately needs more cleaning equipment- it's a self catering house where of course friends/ families will cook and inevitably make a mess together. All that was present was a dribble of washing up liquid left in an old bottle. We dropped and smashed a bottle of wine so needed to use bath towels to soak up wine from the kitchen floor. It would have been a nice touch to atleast have some basics eg tea coffee sugar present in the house too. We were told a kids hi cha...more
We had a lovely stay at Willows House, it is situated in a beautiful village close to Stow on the wold and offered easy access to all areas that we planned to visit. The area was quiet and peaceful, a great place to escape the hustle and bustle. The kitchen was very well equipped and offered a large sociable space for our family to gather. One downside of the property is the general upkeep throughout, the bathrooms in particular are showing signs of wear and tear. Perhaps the general maintenance will be addressed through the winter. In addition, we noticed several cobwebs and dust about the h...more
To be honest I only booked a stay at Primrose Cottage because of the stream running through the garden, it looked so sweet and charming and I could not resist! Booking was simple and straightforward. The cottage is quite lovely, however I was taken aback by the lack of cleanliness. I realise in the English climate, and with a fireplace too, it must be difficult to keep carpet clean, but the carpet here looks like it hasn’t been deep cleaned in years. The sofa and armchair were so grubby I wasn’t even comfortable sitting on them. I only used the ‘leather’ armchair because it at least looked...more
We had a fantastic weekend at Holly Cottage - everything was exactly as we hoped so we really couldn't ask for more thanks!
The only redeeming thing about this house is the location. It is damp and very small. The back door doesn’t close. We were 4 people and there was only enough hot water for one person to shower. We were contacted before our stay by the owner who wanted us to pay £20 towards her petrol to go and clean the property. When I said no she was quite rude. When we had left , she told the letting agents we had stolen two pillows(which we hadn’t), and guess how much she wanted for the missing pillows, yes, £20. Eventually I got my £20 back but after many phone calls and emails.
The house was really lovely and situated 2 minutes from the centre of stow so you wouldn’t need a car….
Cute for 2 nights, but uncomfortable small sofa in living room, and no dishwasher. overpriced by about 50% / night compared to other cottages that are larger with 2 or 3 bathrooms and a fireplace. but it was a last min booking.
