The Ranch is a superb holiday house set in a stunning countryside location in picturesque Glen Massan, only six miles from Dunoon. Featuring a very inviting hot tub, spacious entertaining areas and four bedrooms.

The house is spacious, comfortable and everything you could possibly need is provided. The owner was also very helpful in helping us figure out the hot tub. Thank you!

Everything about The Ranch was fabulous.
The owner, Dara, was super helpful before and during our stay, offering advice and tips about the local area as well as everything to do with the house.
The location is simply stunning with a small river at the bottom of the garden and a river beach about 2 minutes walk away. There are countless gorgeous walks, waterfalls and beaches in the area.
The Ranch itself is so comfortable and spacious. The beds are comfy, there are 3 bathrooms including a jacuzzi bath in the main bedroom ensuite.
We are a family of 6 and The Ranch suited us perfectly. I'd highly recommend for a stay in the area. We would happily have stayed longer.

Eight of us had a fantastic time in the accommodation at the Ranch. The accommodation was excellent and very clean and tidy on our arrival. The hot tub was fantastic. The under floor heating in the property meant that it was very cosy all of the time - good as the weather was wet and windy!!! Fantastic to have three bathrooms at the property too.

The only thing I would have liked would have been a security light at the front of the property as it was very dark entering the property, particularly as there was a small step on the path which we could not see.

Overall an excellent property and would certainly stay again.

Property is very well equipped, everything is there with some nice additional features such as reclining seats, huge with equally huge TV etc, lovely modern bathrooms upstairs (not downstairs).

But we started on the back foot which could so easily be changed. The exterior of the property is sad and unkempt. Plenty cobwebs greeted us and a rusty radiator in the first room I went into (downstairs bathroom). Given that it is not a lochside location but is "in-land" in a small residential development of similar properties that left us starting off fearing the worst.

But The Ranch grew on us. Warm, comfortable and an attentive but not intrusive owner. Everything you need is there. And good value - nothing really to lessen our enjoyment - a few tweaks here and there. We would return.

The ranch is in a perfect location .
The house in places could do with a deep clean and some repairs.
But overall pretty good

We had a lovely snowy weekend at the cottage, slightly put of at first by the fact the house was attached however once through the front door this became irrelevant as the rooms all face the rear of the property which looks out to a lovely garden and river with no one over looking. The property was to a high standard and easy to find using the directions given.the hot tub was great and would recommend this property to anyone.

Property very nice and clean with lots of the things you would normally have to take already provided e.g. Dishwasher tablets, washing powder etc. What let it down was the lack of instructions for things like freestat, how to play a DVD on play station. Confirmation provided on booking and a few days before was not up to date i.e. Wrong housekeeper contact, wrong place where instructions were to be found, no bag for glass as stated. Outside furniture not that comfortable for someone with mobility needs. No outside umbrella provided(would have been helpful on first sunny day). Hot tub was great but the instructions were not where they were stated to be so we couldn't get temperature changed until last day when we came across instructions hence couldn't put it to full use as was too hot. Glass in living room window broken but nothing left to say aware. Tried contacting h/keeper on number provided with queries on first day. Could not contact. By second day tried again with no luck so tried Ian at Argyle lettings to no avail. Eventually the contact Sharon telephoned when we cleared a few queries but not how to play a DVD. Pouring rain, kids fed up and couldn't play DVD!
Following morning day 3 Kate turned up at door and it became clear she was actually h/keeper now but couldn't help us with playing DVD's or Freestat remote (tried her best to help) but was happy to leave it as sorry I couldn't help. Another rainy day with kids no DVD player! All of this, though sounds trivial, really let the whole experience down. Just a bit more effort into providing all up to date instructions, recommendations etc would have made all the difference. The fact that everyone seemed happy to leave us without full facilities was disappointing.

We had a great,sunny week in the Lodge. The rooms are so comfortable,I liked the mattresses as I have some back problem. We enjoyed the hot tube which just gave an extra luxurious feeling. The house is in a very nice place,easy to access but if you want to escape from a busy town/city,this is the best choice for that.
I loved that the river is just back of the garden,my kids enjoyed to play in that. The landscape is wonderful,and we made some trip around the Lodge (some interesting place is very close even by walk), and we felt like we are in a fairy-tale. I would definately reccommand this place.
