The Causeway Barn is a well planned and equipped holiday home with many thoughtful touches from the owner (easter eggs!). I'd certainly consider bookign again.
This was my second stay at Wamsas with my dog, we loved it so much last year we had to stay again. I love the studio, and the location and that view! Seahouses is the perfect base to explore beautiful Northumberland! Thank you!
A stunning barn conversion in a stunning location. Everything was perfect and Caroline was both really pleasant and very helpful. We will definitely re-visit.
Perfect place to spend the week. Very clean, comfortable and spacious. Location is stunning and peaceful. Would highly recommend. Very much hoping to return.
Our stay as a family of 4,at the Hemmel was fantastic. Not 1 complaint, everything was catered for and the house was spotless with the quality of interior being really very good. Super location beach is 2 mins in the car and easy to walk to. Seahouses is 5 mins in the car and has everything needed without being too tacky. We would. Not hesitate to recommend this holiday cottage to family and friends we have done just that already. Stay Northumbria were a really good booking company too very professional and knowledgeable. Brilliant all round. Thank you.
I couldn't fault Clam Shell Cottage. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. A home from home with every gadget you'd need. The garden and facilities for children are particularly good. Pat and Geoff are perfect hosts. Would definitely recommend for a perfect holiday.
Really enjoyed our short stay at Powder House, Pat and Geoff; the owners were very welcoming, the house was perfect in terms of location and cleanliness. Couldn't ask for anything more. Would definitely come back again.
Loved the cottage and the surrounding countryside No hesitation in recommending as we received such a warm welcome
We have holidayed in Northumberland on many occasions but wish we had found this bungalow before now! -A friendly welcome including delicious cake! -Spacious comfortable and spotlessly clean accommodation -Well equipped kitchen -Great location (near A1 but without noticeable noise) handy for getting to the many attractions of Northumberland -Great to see the daily routine with the farm animals -Enjoyed watching the swallows, house martins and kestrel
We were very pleased with our stay here. Steading Cottage is a farm building conversion done to a very high level of quality. It is located about 1/2 mile west of North Sunderland. The facilities were superb and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is very quiet and rural but the best of the Northumbrian Coast such as Seahouses, the Farne Islands, Bamburgh and Beadnell are just minutes away whilst the Holy Island of Lindisfarne is about 25 minutes drive. There is good parking for the car just outside and off the road. Our only issues were that some of the light bulbs had failed and...more
We loved the cottage! Lovely spacious kitchen and great rooms and bathrooms! The owner had baked a cake for our arrival and gave us a tour of the farm during lambing time. Priceless! The location is great and it’s only a short way to the coast and Bamburgh as it is to Alnwick and other major attractions. We will be back, even if the weather wasn’t great! Thank you for a lovely stay!
We had a great week. The accommodation was perfect for us all...six adults two toddlers and a crawling baby. It was very comfortable, spacious and everything good quality. The children loved having horses and sheep at the bottom of the garden. The views were amazing. We will definately return
We had a fabulous stay at Portland the house was perfect size for us (5adults1child) plenty of space. The views are amazing. Beadnell is a lovely area good beach and the Craster arms is a lovely welcoming place to eat.
Our stay at 3 Dunes Court was unfortunately our last, as we have more than one dog. We send our best wishes to the staff who sorted out our holiday, and to the owner's for allowing us to stay there.
Thanks so much for a wonderful stay in magical Seahouses. This property is clean, spacious, very well stocked with comfortable beds and squishy sofas to flip down on after long walks on the fabulous nearby beaches. Perfect location- minutes walk to the Harbour and centre of village. Only have one teeny nitpick, sorry, but with the glorious weather we sat outside a LOT and the courtyard had quite a few weeds! Generally needed a tidy up.Just saying.Other than that everything 10 out of 10.
Each morning taking my coffee to the bottom of the garden and sitting watch the tides in and out of the estuary - what could be better. Okay, it is rather isolated but that suited us. And the welcome pack awaiting us was really good and took care of immediate needs. Our host, Claire, was very welcoming and attentive, yet stayed out of our way. Boca Chica is s marvellous example of renovation and a great place to stay. As far as we were are concerned, a definite 5 *
The Penthouse Apartment is a great base to explore wonderful Northumberland. The apartment is spacious, well-appointed, full of light and very comfortable. It adds a touch of class and luxury to our Northumberland holiday (this was our 4th stay). No matter what sort of day you've had, you can look forward to stepping into the apartment and relaxing. Thanks to the Team at Stay Northumbria for continuing to provide such a high quality experience.
We had 4 adults in our party and there was plenty of room for us all in this cottage. The beds were comfortable, the shower pressure good, kitchen the best equipped we've ever had (and we stay in a lot of selfcatering establishments). With the Aga the cottage would be so cosy in winter! It seemed a pity that we didn't need to use the enormous log burner either in the lounge - it all looked so welcoming. The cottage had good lay-out although there are steps up and down to most rooms which may present a problem for those less able. Plenty of brochures and information both on the cottage and t...more
Everything about this apartment was excellent. The location, the facilities and the standard of the studio apartment are all extremely high. The wifi could have been more consistent, but this is a minor issue in the context of our stay which was very enjoyable. Highly recommended.
From the moment we arrived and were met by the owners, Chris and Elizabeth we new that we were going to like the accommodation. We were given a guided tour of the property and everything was explained to us, although we needn't have worried as the owners only live about 15 metres away and were on hand to provide us with answers to any questions we might have. The property was fully equipped with everything a holidaymaker could wish for. The Byre is about a 5 to 10 minute walk away from Walkworth with its castle and plentiful eating establishments. An outstanding property in an ideal location ...more
The Old Cartshed is perfect for fabulous dog walks along the beautiful Northumberland beaches plus fantastic visits to the Farne Islands - perfect time of year and some excellent restaurants nearby .
This is the best self catering accommodation we've stayed in. Clean and well equipped and in the perfect place to explore the area.
Great stay. Wonderful location. Good guides available. Views amazing. Loads of great places within short walking distance. Will definitely go back. Super when weather was not so good to be able to have use of the club house on the park behind. Super well equipped kitchen and facilities.
This cottage is a real home from home, and more. The attention to detail is amazing. The welcome pack on arrival with wine, strawberries and fresh bread was an added lovely touch. We felt like excited children exploring everything. All the furnishings are first class and very tasteful. It didn't feel like a holiday cottage at all, just like home. The 'only' down side was the lack of places to walk to front the cottage to eat, but if you are out all day then coming home to the cottage and making a meal in the fab kitchen is an excellent consolation. It is literally close to everything yo...more
Newish property on small tasteful estate of similar houses. Excellent accommodation had minor problems with TV and Microwave oven that were resolved the following day with no inconvenience to us. Very well positioned close to Alnwick amenities.
If you want peace and quiet this is the place to come. Craster is a great centre for coastal walks and their famous kippers.
We stayed for a full week in The Old Post Office Cottage at Powburn and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We had never stayed in (or heard of!) the village before going there this summer but would have no qualms about returning. It is a great base to explore both the coastal and inland areas of Northumberland. The welcome package that the owners left for us included a personal message on a box of farm eggs for our young 2 1/2 year old daughter which was a great touch. There was a smell of damp/mustiness in the entrance vestibule and the cupboard where the immersion heater is situated b...more
Being a party of three we found this cottage had excellent facilities to suit us all. Situation was central to Seahouses, just a short walk away. Garden was excellent respite area after a day on one of the beautiful beaches. Would recommend to anyone who asks about Aloha.
A lovely apartment with a lovely view. I would highly recommend the place for a short break or a longer break.
Absolutely loved our stay at Topcliffe. The cottage itself has everything you need. The location in Beadnell is great for access to wonderful beach walks to Low Newton and beyond and we loved nipping over the quiet road in front of the cottage onto the beautiful beach opposite with our two dogs, who also loved their holiday. I would highly recommend Topcliffe, and will be booking again in the future.
Thank you for allowing us to stay in the beautiful cottage. Cosy yet spacious.everything available for a perfect autumnal break.even the sun shone!. We will certainly be recommending coombs cottage to our family and friends
There were 10 of us spending the weekend in this lovely place. The vale view is a large comfortable well equipped place to stay . The owner was very helpful and friendly and the locals in the Queens Head were welcoming . It's a lovely place to stay
Cranage cottage was a most comfortable and well equipped family house in the perfect location for exploring the best of the Northumberland heritage Coast. The weather wasn't great when we were there so we made good use of the extensive collection of family games and dvd available. Craig is a very kind and informative host and even gave us a pot of his delicious homemade jam! The kitchen is extremely well equipped and the whole house was well thought through even down to details such as hair straighteners and extension cables. The children (10 and 11) loved using the typewriter and playing croq...more
We had a wonderful week exploring the North East, and the Garden Room formed and excellent base for our trip, the hosts were very helpful and greated us will a light tea as part of the welcome package, the cottage was very well equiped and spotless. We still have a number of places we want to visit in the area and are planning a return trip, and will probably look at staying again at the Garden Room.
We loved this apartment the first time we stayed and loved it just as much this time. All the little personal touches make it special. Keep recommendng it to others, but to be honest they have found it a bit pricey, and looked elsewhere. One small annoyance was that we were phoned to make us aware that an outside lamp had been broken and would be fixed the following day, None of the outside lights worked at all for the rest of the week.
First visit to the area, will definitely be back. Super cottage for two, comfy, cosy, nicely decorated and well equipped. Location brilliant with a selection of eateries you can walk to. The only minor negative is the shower, could do with being more powerful. Had a really good time.
If I could award this house 6 stars I would. Everything from the position to the comfort, amenities, decor was wonderful. We had a large family party and everyone thought the same. The bedrooms were large and beds comfortable. Very sad to leave but have all said we will definitely come back.
A marvellous holiday in an extremely well equipped, spacious & comfortable house. The children had a great time & especially enjoyed the chess set & hot tub The location was just right, an easy walk into Seahouses where it can be impossible to park at busy holiday times. It is within easy distance to Holy Island & the many castles which Northumberland is noted for. Also, a Farne Island visit to the Farnes is a must(Billy Sheil the best) We enjoyed every minute. Finally the staff were very helpful - Thank You
Lovely short break at the Shoreline apartment & perfect for the 2 of us. Great food & discounts at the pub & cafe. Just a shame not enough matches & kindling provided to get the fire going.
This cottage is in a wonderful position with great views over the harbour and a short walk to the pub and the smokery. It is very comfortable inside, with modern furnishings and decor and a well-equipped kitchen. We appreciated little extras such as board games and jigsaw puzzles, and a separate dining room with an additional small TV. When we turned up without towels, our hosts kindly lent us some. We were there in a cold and windy week and it did get a little cool later in the day, so it was useful to have some plug-in heaters. The shower and hot water could be better.
We recently spent a week at this beautiful well equipped cottage. We were a family of 7 adults 2children and 1baby.
Great accommodation for 8 adults (could be 10) and 1 dog. Well equipped kitchen and plenty of room for cooking and eating. Very near the coast and the A1 so easy access for sightseeing. Only problem with showers, not easy to keep at the right temperature.
We have stayed in quite a few cottages over the years with different companies, this was our first visit to Northumberland. Great value for money. Couldn't find anything at all to complain about. The cottage met our every need. Ideal for the dogs too. Would rate as a 10/10.
I booked the accommodation for my son and his family, and it was much appreciated by them on their first visit to Northumberland. The only downsides to their stay were: - neither the front or back lawns had been mowed prior to their arrival and unfortunately a dog had used the front lawn as a toilet (not appreciated when they had two young children with them)! This was reported to Stay Northumbria and, to their credit, was rectified very quickly. Overall, however, an excellent venue for a family stay.
A very pleasant stay.We appreciated all the welcoming gifts especially the doggy treats it's nice to know nobody is left out! The staff who visited on site were very helpful and friendly you felt they couldn't do enough for you. The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped.
The on-line descript ion t icked all the boxes. The cottage lived-up to expectation . S it uated in a quiet locat ion ,it is comfortable and sympat het i cally rest ored . Wood panelling gives it a seaside feel . The beautiful expanse of sandy beach is a minute away ( dogs allowed ) Good pubs/restaurants , deli and village shop around the corner . Parking is a bonus , not all houses in Alnmouth have an allocated space ..We have a C3 Picasso and found little difficulty in parking . A large car/SUV ( not recommended for touring the by-ways and lanes of Northum...more
We stayed at The Vicarage in Beadnell. It was a comfortable traditional house and perfect for a family get together over Christmas. There was plenty of room with 2 lounges, games room and spacious bedrooms. The kitchen with the Aga was cosy and very well equipped. The formal dining room was perfect for Christmas lunch (though the candle ban was a little disappointing but understandable). The location was superb with a short walk to a pub, cafe and shop as well as the spectacular beach. We had a wonderful holiday and I would be happy to return again. It was our second visit with another family and we had another marvellous stay. I can't fault it at all and how to return again.
A fantastic property in a stunning setting. We loved the cottage and the village and are looking forward to coming back in the future.
Lynsford is ideally suitable for 2 persons. The layout within is excellent, warm and comfortable. Also the location of the bungalow is ideal for seeing the beautiful coast line.
The property was alright the only down side was that the fire alarms would be set off by the steam from the bathroom.
Lovely house, great location. Couldn't have been more comfortable. We would highly recommend it as an Island retreat.
Our second visit to Burn Bank cottage; the first five years ago. A really beautiful and peaceful location amongst stunning countryside with lovely views, wildlife, some inquisitive cattle in the field next to the back garden and during sunny weather, amazing skies and sun sets. Very comfortable and well equipped inside and the large conservatory is perfect to sit and eat and relax whilst taking in the wonderful scenery. Walks on the doorstep to keep a happy holiday dog even happier. Also a perfect base for visiting many nearby beaches and inumerable local sights.l
We had a fabulous family weekend break in May, the cottage was ideal and well located for us being just a 5-10 min walk out of Seahouses itself. Our plan for the weekend was to explore the Northumberland way and walk a section of the coastal path, there was a really good bus service which meant we didn't have to double back on our walk and the bus stop was right opposite the accommodation. The cottage was clean, tidy and modern and was well equipped, our only comment was that the sofa wasn't very comfortable. Seahouses itself has some good facilities and there is plenty to do and explore as we...more
We really enjoyed our stay (party of four adults and two children). The Hollies is in a great location in the centre of Bamburgh, which is a great base from which to explore Northumberland. We felt at home as soon as we arrived and it had everything we needed, including body boards and buckets and spades for the kids (the beach at Bamburgh, with its fantastic sand dunes, is second to none). We loved staying at The Hollies and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the house to be very clean and comfortable and in an excellent location.
Clean, modern and well equipped property 5 minutes walk from fantastic beach and rock pools. Our party comprised children aged 2 to 12 and there was an amazing range of games, toys, sports and beach equipment to keep all fully occupied. Evidence of dog hairs on living room carpet where our toddler was crawling...would suggest a pet vacuum cleaner is needed. Internet reception is poor so leave iPad at home! All in all a great property for large family with children and would certainly recommend.
We loved being so close to the Northumberland coast and walking on loads of beaches, seeing seals and dolphins. The cottage is convenient for shops and restaurants. The town of Amble isn't that picturesque but it's a great coastal location. Lovely to have a woodburner.
From the initial phone call with our request for a cottage for a short break , Beth was sure she could help and forwarded a choice for us to have a look at. We agreed to go for 2 Cliff House cottage , right price , right location ,even the right weather . The cottage was ,well equipped ,clean and the welcome pack was a nice surprise .We had three great days walking and enjoying the local restaurants and pubs , fish and chips outside taste better .The car never moved ,everything on the doorstep , a great short break , thank you very much .
We have stayed at Sunnieside twice now and will do so again in the future. The property has everything you could need for a holiday away from home and is an excellent location. We particularly like the enclosed area at the back for our dogs, just open the door and they can go out safely - nothing worse than having to get dressed in the middle of the night if they need to go out, with them on a lead ! The bed is very comfy. The lovely welcome pack of milk tea coffee etc PLUS the doggie treats are a real bonus. The WiFi was a nice surprise as it wasn't in last time we came. We didnt fiddl...more
Amazing location with great views, however a number of maintenance issues needed addressing to bring the house up to the standard the price demands. Issues raised with letting agents so hopefully these will be rectified for future guests.
This is the third time we’ve stayed in this house (we = extended family + dog) and we intend booking it again, which must say a lot for our opinion of the house. The house is large, with space to spread out downstairs (great for the grandchildren with all their toys) and still room for the grown-ups. The house has an excellent location, looking out from the lounge windows onto the Farne Islands and Bamburgh (as long as the sea fret hasn’t set in!). It is a few minutes walk north onto the sandy beach, sand dunes and rocky shore, or south to the town. The garden is huge, mostly laid to lawn but ...more
Fantastic cottage which is beautifully presented and furnished and we couldn't have asked for more for our needs (1 toddler plus 2 dogs). Great location in the historic part of the village next to one of the pubs and local café and only minutes from a fabulous beach. Happy to recommend this property and will be back ourselves.
Very enjoyable holiday in well appointed cottage with every possible amenities and all home comforts.
Possibly a bit on the small side for two, but I, as a single traveller found it ideal. Excellent location for walking to everything in Seahouses as well as Beadnell and Bamburgh. Lovely quiet location up above the harbour and easy stroll to the smokery for a kipper in a bun breakfast. Northumberland a wonderful part of England, lots of places to go and not too may people there when you get there (at least not in June).
We all had a pleasant stay at Cheviot cottage, and was nice to have a bit of snow in such a tranquil and remote area. The cottage was well provided for and comfy and the four of us plus dog had plenty of room. There really is no phone signal or Wifi here so it was nice being able to go dark. On the down side the cottage lacked any up to date information about places to eat or visit. We couldn't find the visitors book either. Also the garden had several dog do's from previous users that hadn't been tidied up. Other than that I would stay there again.
Great location in the village and a very quiet spot. This is a really spacious flat and very good facilities- Super spot for a family holiday. The renovations have been really well done and the bedrooms have really sweet window seats with views of the castle. It might be worth mentioning that there are quite a lot of stairs but that really wasn't a problem for us !
Super little cottage which was exactly as described. Great position. Handy for the boats to the Farne Islands and an easy walk into town and to be able to watch the goings-on in the harbour was lovely. We were very lucky with the weather in early May and were able to sit on the balcony for breakfast. The only addition I would make would be to have at least one small coffee table in the lounge. We used the dining chairs as somewhere to put our coffee mugs but these had a slightly sloping seat and would in no way be appropriate for a family with young children or animals. As I have ofte...more
This is a lovely house. Plenty of room for 6 adults a toddler and 3 dogs without feeling cramped. We particularly enjoyed the use of the pool table and the conservatory. Well situated for Bamburgh and Holy Island etc. Plenty of things to do in the surrounding area. A lovely family holiday.
A nice cosy cottage in a good location for trips around the Northumberland either by car or on foot. Could perhaps do with a bit of a spring clean, although generally clean and tidy with good facilities (although washing machine wasn't working whilst we were there). Excellent views of fields, golf course and sea, there's always something to watch and the chairs by the windows were well used. Lighting was also a little dark if you wanted to read or anything in the sitting area on an evening, although fine for watching tv etc. Great location for walks along the coast to High/Low Newton and Cra...more
A lovely cottage with excellent views. Wifi would have made our stay better especially on the wet days to keep the kids happy but apart from that no complaints.
Plus- very big, lots outdoor space, near to beaches. Comfy beds/good furniture Cons- no internet in annexe, advertised as having internet no cooking dishes (previous reviewer mentions this but nothing done about it poor lighting to annexe at night, again mentioned in previous review Aga, dangerous to small children Gate not working, would have been nice to close when out or at night. We had a great week despite the weather and the niggles in the house
Great location however the house needed some TLC regrading interior and could have done with a deeper clean especially given the cost of the house for October half term. Under sofas and behind furniture was thick with dust, hair etc. Being so close to the beach was a huge advantage with small children. The garden is very small so not of a size for children to play in.
With a little attention to detail and a general update and repair it would be an amazing cottage. That said, we had a great holiday.
