The Causeway Barn is a well planned and equipped holiday home with many thoughtful touches from the owner (easter eggs!). I'd certainly consider bookign again.
Perfect place to spend the week. Very clean, comfortable and spacious. Location is stunning and peaceful. Would highly recommend. Very much hoping to return.
A stunning barn conversion in a stunning location. Everything was perfect and Caroline was both really pleasant and very helpful. We will definitely re-visit.
Our stay as a family of 4,at the Hemmel was fantastic. Not 1 complaint, everything was catered for and the house was spotless with the quality of interior being really very good. Super location beach is 2 mins in the car and easy to walk to. Seahouses is 5 mins in the car and has everything needed without being too tacky. We would. Not hesitate to recommend this holiday cottage to family and friends we have done just that already. Stay Northumbria were a really good booking company too very professional and knowledgeable. Brilliant all round. Thank you.
I couldn't fault Clam Shell Cottage. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. A home from home with every gadget you'd need. The garden and facilities for children are particularly good. Pat and Geoff are perfect hosts. Would definitely recommend for a perfect holiday.
This is the third time we have stayed at Wamsas & have already booked for JUNE 19 and maybe September. Says it all.
Really enjoyed our short stay at Powder House, Pat and Geoff; the owners were very welcoming, the house was perfect in terms of location and cleanliness. Couldn't ask for anything more. Would definitely come back again.
I have never stayed in a holiday home where the host has considered absolutely everything, including a fully equipped kitchen with every pan, plate, dish, glass etc you could ever need. The welcome goodies of: wine, milk, tea & coffee and home made preserves, were an extra treat. The hosts were quiet and discreet and left us alone unless we prompted a chat. Interesting people. It was so quiet in the village and we enjoyed running the Roman road and the accessibility to the coast. Village pubs both served good food.
Beautiful property in an excellent location with outstanding views. The property was one of the best we have ever stayed in, equipment provided was of a very high standard. The owner was on site if required and happy to help with any queries. Would definitely recommend and hope to return, wish it had a log burner for the winter months.
Five star accomodation with excellent facilities. Loads of room just home from home. Highly recommended.
We had a wonderfully relaxing week at Pasture View during July. The cottage is beautifully presented, spotlessly clean and had personal touches which made it feel a real 'home from home'. Julie's thoughtfulness in leaving homemade cake and milk and her warm and welcoming manner made our stay all the more special. We found the cottage to be perfectly located to explore the Northumbrian coast but also a beautiful spot to stay and relax. We had a week of warm sunshine (and terrific thunderstorms) but I would expect the cottage is cosy and comfortable in all weathers. I'd like to return in winter ...more
Lovely clean, cosy and well equipped cottage. Friendly and helpful owner. Homemade cake on arrival was really excellent.
We wanted to visit the north east coast from Berwick down to Amble. This accommodation was perfect being central to all the coast areas we intended to visit. Perfect for the causeway to Holy Island and good road links to all the main places.
Spent a blissful two weeks in this beautifully appointed cottage in prime position with the most beautiful view. Easy access to perfect, quiet beach and yet the secure garden and the courtyard ensures peace of mind for those of us with dogs. Clare provided all we could ask for without being at all intrusive. Already looking to book next year. Highly recommended!
Our stay at 3 Dunes Court was unfortunately our last, as we have more than one dog. We send our best wishes to the staff who sorted out our holiday, and to the owner's for allowing us to stay there.
Wow what can I say about this house?! Absolutely fabulous - can't speak highly enough this property - it is gorgeous - looks recently refurbished to a very high standard and spotlessly clean - loved it from the moment we arrived. Haven't visited this area before, can totally see why so many people return. It is so quaint and peaceful and everywhere is dog friendly, we will definitely return. Loved it, loved it, loved it!!
Beautiful cottage in lovely surroundings. The cottage was spotless and beautifully presented with everything we could have needed (and more!). Also lots of space for the whole family, including two dogs. Was a perfect place to take our little girl for her first holiday. Thank you.
First time in Northumberland and we loved it! Begas Bead was a lovely comfortable place to stay with everything you needed. It was in a great location, a few steps to the harbour and Seahouses had something for everyone. We would also recommend the Italian restaurant. We had a very enjoyable week with plenty to do and see.
Had an excellent stay at Beadnell House. Well equipped apartment, pub in walking distance and near the beach
A beautiful cottage in a fantastic location near the beach and lovely Warkworth, one our favourite Northumbria villages. The cottage itself is bijou but perfectly formed, and the owners have cleared paid huge attention to detail both in terms of interior design and layout, and how they’ve equipped The Byre. We stayed with our children (aged 5 & 8) and the space worked well for us. The beds were comfy, with plush duvets and covers, and the shower was lovely and powerful - always important on holiday, nothing worse than a bad back and a cold dribble from the shower in the morning! The owners a...more
We could not fault this property. Clean, spacious, well equipped, great location with a view of the Farne Islands. Friendly, helpful and unobtrusive customer service. A real home from home.
Spotlessly clean, homely and a bit quirky. Everything we needed and more - perfect location! Owner very attentive. Hope to return.
We thoroughly enjoyed our third stay at 6 Seafield-Portside. The location is perfect, we used the local buses this year either to or from some glorious walks. Billy Shiels provided with an excellent crossing to the Farne Islands, we could watch the boats leave the harbour from the lounge window. All in all our perfect type of holiday.
An excellently presented "cottage". The Cartshed is a very welcoming holiday home from the moment you park up. It is well presented and well appointed. It is warm and cosy, with nice decor, the underfloor heating being a great boost ensuring a constant temperature throughout. It was also nice to have access to ventilation when required through the electric Velux windows and other windows. Being on one level it is well suited to less mobile people with the It is situated near to Sea Houses where you can secure most things in clean pleasant shops. There is a wealth to see within a relativ...more
An excellent cottage to simply unwind and relax in. It has all the important amenities to make your visit a pleasurable experience. It’s at home with nature all around you. The cottage has plenty of room for 2 people and is dog friendly so no need to leave your pet behind. Close to the city of Newcastle and the town of Whitley Bay so you can explore the countryside or beach. A great welcome and pack of essential supplies on arrival. We have visited for the last 2 years and hope to return next year.
The cottage was perfectly located within yards of the harbour at Craster, which is a lovely place just to sit and take in the views. The cottage is very well furnished with separate lounge and dining room. The garden is separate from the cottage just 30 yards or so back down the lane next to the allocated car parking spaces. From the cottage you can walk to Dunstanburgh Castle and beyond to the lovely beach near Embleton. The location is excellent for touring Nortumbria and we went as far north as Berwick and down to Morpeth. Highly recommended.
We stayed for a full week in The Old Post Office Cottage at Powburn and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We had never stayed in (or heard of!) the village before going there this summer but would have no qualms about returning. It is a great base to explore both the coastal and inland areas of Northumberland. The welcome package that the owners left for us included a personal message on a box of farm eggs for our young 2 1/2 year old daughter which was a great touch. There was a smell of damp/mustiness in the entrance vestibule and the cupboard where the immersion heater is situated b...more
I enjoyed my stay, the cottage was clean and compact I am slightly disabled so it was easy to move about and it had a nice garden to sit in. The neighbours were very friendly the cottage was nicely furnished so it was pleasant to stay in and would return for another holiday.
We stayed as a family of 10 and had a great time. The accommodation is perfect for a large group, with everything you need for your stay. The kids loved the hot tub. The bar downstairs is great, a proper pub. Thankyou to Lisa was very helpful and friendly and made our stay stress free. We would definitely recommend ValeView and hope to stay again.
Clean, spacious and bright apartment. Plenty room for the entire family. Parking not an issue. Well placed for local cafe and hotel for food.
Been to Craster several times, stayed in different cottages. Good value for the price, amazing views over harbour and sea.
We enjoyed our stay at Topcliffe. The property is in a quiet location, very convenient for the beach. The accommodation was comfortable and had everything we needed. The welcome pack for the dogs was a nice touch.
Great apartment in a superb location with the bonus of secure parking. The only downside was the tired and uncomfortable settee. Our second visit & we would consider staying again.
If I could award this house 6 stars I would. Everything from the position to the comfort, amenities, decor was wonderful. We had a large family party and everyone thought the same. The bedrooms were large and beds comfortable. Very sad to leave but have all said we will definitely come back.
We had a lovely time at the house. It was very comfortable and clean. Very relaxing and everything was as described...excellent. 5hank you.
We are a group of ladies between 45 and 55 and lead busy lives from mental health nurse teachers oncology nurse travel agent manager all with children so we get away once a year together this is our 7 th year and I have to say this was definitely at the top , Beth who did the welcome meeting was so lovely and informative the place was immaculate comfortable and they had thought of everything we will definitely be back thankyou so much
Excellent enjoyed by all! Oldest visitor being my Mother 94 with mobility problems, cottage was excellent for moving about with her rollator. Location very good for walking into the hub of Seahouses enjoyed the local restaurants and only a short five minute walk down to the harbour. The only minor downside was having one bathroom/toilet. Everything you need is at Godetia Cottage, splendid holiday.
The two of us and wire haired vizsla spent an enjoyable week here. The flat is comfortable - especially the beds and the en suites were great. The kitchen is very well appointed and the only thing I brought with me that I used was scales! Great location, especially for the Shoreline Cafe which we patronised on a number of occasions. Only downside wasthe slamming of the downstairs door which could be irritating but a minor gripe.
Had a fabulous week again in Seahouses, we were very lucky with the weather and walked in excess of 30 miles over the week on excellent beaches. We had great food in particular The Old Ship for delicious no frills food.
Where to begin after such a wonderful holiday in north Northumberland staying in a lovely well equipt comfortable cottage. The cottage is very well situated very close to the shops, pubs and harbour. There are a number of excellent golf courses within a short distance and it is very well situated for visits to Alnwick ,Berwick and many surrounding places of interest. It was an overall very relaxing week and there is plenty room for parking. I think Stay Northumbria have got it just right ten out of ten from us.
Great accommodation for 8 adults (could be 10) and 1 dog. Well equipped kitchen and plenty of room for cooking and eating. Very near the coast and the A1 so easy access for sightseeing. Only problem with showers, not easy to keep at the right temperature.
I booked the accommodation for my son and his family, and it was much appreciated by them on their first visit to Northumberland. The only downsides to their stay were: - neither the front or back lawns had been mowed prior to their arrival and unfortunately a dog had used the front lawn as a toilet (not appreciated when they had two young children with them)! This was reported to Stay Northumbria and, to their credit, was rectified very quickly. Overall, however, an excellent venue for a family stay.
Platone Cittage is in a lovely quiet location and just a short walk from the stunning beach. The cottage is quirky, small but beautifully formed! It's very cosy with responsive heating and the kitchen is well equipped. The bed is extremely comfortable though difficult to access as there is very little room either side. The dedicated parking space is an added bonus. The bottle of prosecco and biscuits were a nice touch. Alnmouth is a great place to stay with great eateries and really friendly people.
The cottage was excellent all round, its next to the castle and behind a sand dune to the beach, so its a very private location, but its straight onto the beach. It has a south facing conservatory with big comfy settees and because of the sand dune its really warm and sheltered from any winds. It opens onto a large enclosed gardens so our dogs could go out with out any problems. Its fitted and furnished to a high standard and furnished to a high standard and is very light and airy in every room. We will definitely go back again
We spent an eventful and enjoyable week in the Old Vicarage. We all felt it was a real privilege to to be able to stay there. The house has been beautifully maintained and has a real sense of being a happy family home rather than a rental. The furniture and the decorative style is all in keeping with a a traditional vicarage and we all delighted in looking in every nook and cranny of the house. The beds were super comfortable and the provision of all extras like soap, shampoo and loo roll really made it an easy stay. The dining and and cooking equipment was exceptional.I had ordered a Tes...more
As 3 friends who wanted to stay at seahouses to scuba dive. we needed to find specific accommodation- Hastings Dairy had everything we needed. 3 lovely spacious bedrooms and plenty of outdoor space to dry our kit, all topped off with stacks of hot water for either a bath or shower. The position on the outskirts of Seahouses was perfect for peace and quiet but not too far to walk into town for all you need. Hope to book again
Lynsford is ideally suitable for 2 persons. The layout within is excellent, warm and comfortable. Also the location of the bungalow is ideal for seeing the beautiful coast line.
Excellent cottage lovely location. Well laid out , the conservatory on the has a lovely view. And the multi fuel stove keeps you lovely and warm.
this was our third visit and it was once again greatly enjoyed. The cottage is so well equipped and this year the WiFi was better. We love Beadnell and the area is so dog friendly as is the Cottage. I hope we will be back again next year
This had the best equipt kitchen of any cottage we have stayed in but rattly windows and rats (or similar) in the roof space made it very noisy at night and disturbed sleep most nights. A shame as it was otherwise very nice
My second stay in the property, and definitely not the last. Apart from the construction crew that can't be helped there is a blissful quiet about the place. Everything important to me (like the Harbor :-)) is within easy walking distance. There is parking. There are even sparrowhawks hunting the roof (advise: not for the squeamish) and pigeons cooing in the courtyard. Do bring a torch at night as that courtyard can be dark when you return, and the surface is charmingly uneven. Would recommend at any time, especially to those seeking refuge from work stress. Heavenly!
We really enjoyed our stay (party of four adults and two children). The Hollies is in a great location in the centre of Bamburgh, which is a great base from which to explore Northumberland. We felt at home as soon as we arrived and it had everything we needed, including body boards and buckets and spades for the kids (the beach at Bamburgh, with its fantastic sand dunes, is second to none). We loved staying at The Hollies and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
We had a very happy family hoilsay, one of the best ever. It is not easy to find a house for ten and holmside fits us to a '[email protected]
Really enjoyed our week here. The cottage was warm and comfortable, with plenty of space. The area is lovely, just a short drive from Lindisfarne and Bamburgh. We would definitely return.
We loved being so close to the Northumberland coast and walking on loads of beaches, seeing seals and dolphins. The cottage is convenient for shops and restaurants. The town of Amble isn't that picturesque but it's a great coastal location. Lovely to have a woodburner.
well appointed & equipped for a family holiday. Warm, inviting and near amenities and beach. Super!!
Our third visit did not disappoint. Seaton is a well appointed and comfortable property. Perfect outlook to the Farnes and huge enclosed garden.
The farmhouse was comfortable, clean and well appointed. We had ample room for 4 adults, 2 dogs and all our clobber. We loved the Aga which gave the place a warm, homely feel and on which we cooked several hearty meals. The conservatory was a fabulous suntrap for sitting, reading and for star gazing after dark. The garden was private and secure for our 2 dogs, and the visiting chickens and ducks! It was bliss to be able to step out into the countryside, surrounded by bird life and walk to the coast in various directions away from the bulk of visitors. The shops and visitor attractions were j...more
Clean cottage facilities good ideal location.Enjoyed easy access to pubs and places to eat every where dog friendly .Short travel distances to other costal towns ,enjoyed the rest
We had a wonderful stay in Northumberland, Beadnell was the perfect base to explore the coastline. The house was well equipped and beautifully situated, it suited our larger party well. We really had a wonderful, relaxed stay for my Dad’s 60th. Our only hesitation on booking again was the house wasn’t overly clean - we had to clean baths before use and the kitchen was quite grubby, lots of plates/cutlery had been put back dirty. It didn’t ruin our stay, and a quick clean easily sorted it but if you pay to stay somewhere you expect high levels of cleanilness. There also wasn’t any option for...more
We stayed at the cottage for a week and enjoyed our stay very much. Although the cottage was cosy/small it wasn’t an issue for us at all and had everything we needed. It was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable and the area where the cottage is was very quiet. There was building work taking place nearby, but this didn’t cause us any issues at all. The cottage is a short walk from the harbour and the centre of Seahouses, with some lovely walks close by. The walk from Craster to Seahouses is lovely especially if the tides allow you to walk all the way on beach. W...more
Fantastic cottage which is beautifully presented and furnished and we couldn't have asked for more for our needs (1 toddler plus 2 dogs). Great location in the historic part of the village next to one of the pubs and local café and only minutes from a fabulous beach. Happy to recommend this property and will be back ourselves.
This is our 4th visit to Pebbles and we always enjoy it. The accommodation is,in the main, great. One or two tweaks could make it excellent. These are small issues and won’t deter us from coming back as we love Pebbles and Seahouses. Until next time!
We all had a pleasant stay at Cheviot cottage, and was nice to have a bit of snow in such a tranquil and remote area. The cottage was well provided for and comfy and the four of us plus dog had plenty of room. There really is no phone signal or Wifi here so it was nice being able to go dark. On the down side the cottage lacked any up to date information about places to eat or visit. We couldn't find the visitors book either. Also the garden had several dog do's from previous users that hadn't been tidied up. Other than that I would stay there again.
Great location in the village and a very quiet spot. This is a really spacious flat and very good facilities- Super spot for a family holiday. The renovations have been really well done and the bedrooms have really sweet window seats with views of the castle. It might be worth mentioning that there are quite a lot of stairs but that really wasn't a problem for us !
Beach plaice is a very high spec holiday rental , and has just about everything you need whatever the weather . Plenty of indoor / outdoor amusement for kids . The only issue we had was two beds only suitable for toddlers ( made by Mothercare ) unfortunately unaware and it broke . Stay Northumbria dealt with the issue quickly . Everything else really good and the location just across from seafront and easy walk into seahouses . We used Sainsbury's home shopping. A bonus was welcome pack . Biscuits soon disappeared. Would recommend
A great little cottage in a super location right on the harbour. Clean, well equipped and well presented; the only things that are worth mentioning are that the stairs are very steep so not ideal for any with reduced mobility, the utility could do with a few more (robust) coat hooks and the kitchen is rather small (only one person at a time really) so don't go planning on cooking any gourmet masterpieces. That said, the kitchen has everything that you need and there is the bonus of a dishwasher and a washing machine. On demand, unlimited hot water was great too. Worked really well for our ...more
This is a lovely house. Plenty of room for 6 adults a toddler and 3 dogs without feeling cramped. We particularly enjoyed the use of the pool table and the conservatory. Well situated for Bamburgh and Holy Island etc. Plenty of things to do in the surrounding area. A lovely family holiday.
A nice cosy cottage in a good location for trips around the Northumberland either by car or on foot. Could perhaps do with a bit of a spring clean, although generally clean and tidy with good facilities (although washing machine wasn't working whilst we were there). Excellent views of fields, golf course and sea, there's always something to watch and the chairs by the windows were well used. Lighting was also a little dark if you wanted to read or anything in the sitting area on an evening, although fine for watching tv etc. Great location for walks along the coast to High/Low Newton and Cra...more
Plus- very big, lots outdoor space, near to beaches. Comfy beds/good furniture Cons- no internet in annexe, advertised as having internet no cooking dishes (previous reviewer mentions this but nothing done about it poor lighting to annexe at night, again mentioned in previous review Aga, dangerous to small children Gate not working, would have been nice to close when out or at night. We had a great week despite the weather and the niggles in the house
This was a great place to stay - fantastic views over the coast, great location with walks to local castle, pubs and bays. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable (albeit with very creaky noisy stairs!). The beach was about 15mins walk away and was beautiful. The local pubs served good food and the local playground was an added bonus - my son loved it! Only negative of the week was the arrival of the owner of the adjacent Seahouses on Saturday as we were leaving- a very rude woman who obviously has a problem with holiday lets - she made a big point of saying she was an ...more
Great location however the house needed some TLC regrading interior and could have done with a deeper clean especially given the cost of the house for October half term. Under sofas and behind furniture was thick with dust, hair etc. Being so close to the beach was a huge advantage with small children. The garden is very small so not of a size for children to play in.
With a little attention to detail and a general update and repair it would be an amazing cottage. That said, we had a great holiday.
