Wren Cottage was comfortable and a little quirky. We chose this cottage because there was on street parking at the door, upstairs toilet and a walk in shower. Warkworth was lovely, good food and a river walk. The village shops and café appear to be closed on Mondays. Amble was convenient for supermarket, petrol and takeaways. We very much enjoyed our stay

This was our second visit to Wren Cottage. It is beautifully decorated and very clean. The cottage is comfy and very well equipped. The beds are especially comfy and the shower powerful. The owner is in the process of replacing one or two items of furniture. The welcome pack was much appreciated as was the provision of basic cleaning products. We especially liked the location on the outskirts of Warkworth but only a short stroll to the village centre and being able to walk to the beach too. On street parking was easy on the quiet road. We were fortunate to have good weather and Wren Cottage made a great base for exploring the local area. We would happily stay again.

A lovely relaxing stay.

We received a very extensive welcome pack on arrival which was much appreciated. The owner kindly contacted us to check if everything was in order and if she could be of further assistance. The quality of the bedding and towels was high and complimentary toiletries were provided. The location is excellent and parking wasn't a problem. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wren cottage.

We enjoyed a week of mixed weather visiting local beaches, pubs and restaurants as well as attending a J
Katherine Tickell concert in Alnwick and a Wilson Family concert in Warkworth memorial hall.
Would recommend this area and this accommodation.

We expected rain. We got gales and sunshine which chased away the rain. We expected great fish cookery which we found. We hoped for a comfortable cottage with a supply of books and games and everything else for a wet weekend and found that and more. Only the boiler made for a cold, cold, welcome on a cold day - not the fault of the owner or Coquet Cottages. The pressure in the boiler had just decided to drop, so no heating. One call to the staff of Coquet Cottages and within an hour all was well. They went over and beyond with their kindness and concern with even a call in the evening from the owner who had just landed in Singapore to make sure all was well. And the kindness didn’t end there. On Sunday my husband became unwell while out walking and a young doctor away for the day with her family came to help us. In fact everyone we met in Warkworth could not have made us happier. This is a lovely place with plenty to do and a lovely cottage. It may not look much from the outside but inside is lovely.

Great place to stay!

The cottage was clean and comfortable and it was easy to park immediately outside the property. There as also a nice sitting area at the back which was very good as the sun was shining. The cottage did feel a bit chilly though in the evenings as it gets little sunlight and there was no way of turning the heating on as this appears to be controlled by the owners. When you are walking you also need to be able to dry towels after a shower or if you were wet. It's the only property we have come across where there was no heated towel rail in the bathroom. Also there was no oven glove or tea towel in the kitchen which I would describe as essential.
Otherwise a decent cottage and we give it seven out of then.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for Wren Cottage. I wanted to respond to let you know that the heating in the property is adjustable by turning the thermostat. Additionally, there is a heated towel rail in the upstairs bathroom for your use. Oven gloves and tea towels are always available in the kitchen drawer. If it was an oversight that the housekeeper missed them, I do apologise. We do provide a contact number in the property and wish you would have informed us during your stay that these items were missing so that we could have rectified it. Lastly, I would like to mention that our comprehensive digital guidebook details the adjustable heating and includes information about all amenities in the property and states that if you have any difficulty to give us a call. I hope this will be helpful for any future stays. Thank you for choosing Wren Cottage for your stay and for taking the time to leave a review. I hope we have the chance to welcome you back to Northumberland soon

Wren Cottage, Warkworth is in an excellent location with easy walking to the beach, village, castle and riverside within Warkworth. The location is also excellent for walking to Amble and as a base for exploring Northumberland.
We had good communication from Coquet cottages and the owner. The photos on the web are a true representation of the cottage. Access using the key safe was straightforward.
It was well equipped with everything we needed and beautifully decorated. Both bedrooms are a good size. Beds were comfy and bedrooms had good blackout curtains. We found the location to be very quiet. The downstairs bathroom had a super shower, plenty of towels and was very modern and clean. It was handy to have a separate WC upstairs too.
The kitchen was very modern with all mod cons and all the utensils and equipment you might need. The welcome basket had been left on the kitchen table with a vase of flowers which was a nice touch when we arrived. We appreciated having a 'starter' set of tea, coffee as well as a pint of milk in the fridge. The extra treats were good too!
The lounge was well set up for up to four guests with two armchairs and a sofa. It was beautifully decorated and had a few extra homely touches like squidgy cushions.
We enjoyed some sunshine whilst reading and eating in the small courtyard garden with table and chairs. There was easy on street parking even in high season.
The property has been beautifully renovated. There were nice touches like local guidebooks available as well as a bookshelf with reading materials and some board games too. Just as a note, there is a step between the lounge and kitchen and the stairs in this old property are quite steep which may be a little challenging for the less mobile. There was a good banister and we had no issue with them.
We would stay again! Thank you.

Very comfortable cottage in a lovely town.

We had a fabulous week in this lovely well appointed cottage. It is an excellent location from which to explore all the North East has to offer, especially the cost. Will be returning.

Excellent accommodation. Comfortable, clean and well maintained with a well stocked kitchen. Located just a 10 minute walk from the centre of Warkworth it was quiet and we had no problem parking immediately outside the cottage. Welcome “pack” was very much appreciated as was the beautiful vase of roses. The standard of furnishings and everything in the cottage was high and we feel accurately reflect the cost. Communication with Coquet was efficient and straightforward and the owner even made direct contact with us on our arrival day to advise the cottage was ready earlier for us than the advertised time.
A great cottage in a good location for accessing Warkworth and the beach plus all the other amazing locations on the Northumberland coast. Highly recommended

A problem with the property not having been touched since the departure of the previous guests. However, this was very quickly rectified by the owner with assistant from Coquet Cottages.
The location was excellent.
We never got to grips with the heating system - perhaps that was just us.
