Piggyback Cottage is a beautifully renovated cottage with rustic decor in the medieval village of Warkworth. With gorgeous views over the castle grounds to Warkworth Caste and the Warkworth beach dunes and sea beyond, this cottage in Northumberland is a cosy and luxurious retreat in an excellent spot. Piggyback Cottage sleeps 5 guests in 3 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms. The master bedroom is on the ground floor and there is a wood-burning stove and enclosed patio. Sorry no children under 5 years can be accommodated. 2 medium size dogs are welcome. Free Wi-Fi and Digital Guidebook.

We love Piggback cottage. It’s like our second home, I wish. The house is immaculate. Welcome basket for adults and dogs always more than expected. Carla is also a big part of our experience she is literally the best host we have come across, even delivering scones warm from the oven. Piggyback and Carla should score 10s rather than 5s

Piggyback Cottage and our host Carla gave us a fantastic holiday. The property has been beautifully renovated, a cosy yet spacious home-from-home in a quiet location with views across to the castle and coast. The property lacked for nothing and was spotlessly clean. We have self catered in many cottages around the UK over the years, and Piggyback is our best yet.

Warkworth is lesser known than some of its more recognised neighbours (Alnwick, Bamburgh etc) but we were so pleased to gave chosen it as our base. Peaceful and picturesque, and within easy reach of miles of amazing beaches and rolling countryside.

This was our first holiday in Northumberland. We'll be back to Piggyback!

We were truly able to relax at Piggyback cottage. Such a fabulous welcome from Carla, whose cottage is the cleanest we’ve stayed in. Lovely village and amazing beach.

Piggyback Cottage was perfect for us we booked last minute after technically issues with the cottage we had chosen, and we were delighted with our choice, everything in the cottage was homely whilst the finish was of a high class, location was perfect too, Carla was lovely and very hopeful would definately book again

This is the second time we have stayed in Piggyback cottage. Very well appointed, clean and tidy. Great welcome pack and a very attentive owner. Nice walk on the riverbank into Warkworth. Hilly though.

A little gem, beautifully maintained and presented. We met the owner on arrival, who is lovely and very welcoming and was readily available had we needed anything. Warkworth is within walking distance from the cottage. We enjoyed our walks along the river and across the fields. We ordered take out Sunday lunch from Topsy Turvey on recommendation, hope cooked fayre and very yummy! I would absolutely recommend this cottage to others and would like to say a big thanks to the owner for giving us the opportunity to stay in their lovely home. It goes without saying that this area of wonderful nation is an absolute delight!

This is our first time staying in a Cottage. We will be returning to Piggyback Cottage in the near future and we can't praise the host any higher. Piggyback Cottage is even better than the pictures. I visited in April with Storm Kathleen the cottage is warm, extremely comfortable and has everything you need. I could see the sea in the distance and spent a lot of time looking out if the window. The owner is next door should there be any queries but does leave you to enjoy your break. The garden is great for children and dogs, my dog is labrador size and couldn't get out. If taking toddlers it's a bit of a walk to the beach but a slow walk around the village and back takes about an hour. You are able to walk along the riverside but there was too much mud on this visit. I would definitely stay at Piggyback Cottage again

We have visited many times and stayed in lots of different cottages. For us Piggyback is perfect. From the moment we arrive Carla welcomes us like old friends. Nothing is too much trouble. The cottage is always spotless. Welcome basket for ourselves and the dog is always a treat. An apology because the cake was still in the oven which arrived in time for tea and was delicious. Even a birthday card and Easter egg for our son. Already booked for Sept and fingers crossed to squeeze in another visit as well. If I could give it 20 out of 5 I would. Thank you

We had a lovely stay at piggyback cottage. The place is fully equipped with everything you could need. The luxurious hamper was a lovely touch and much appreciated as were the lovely muffins that the owner, Carla, brought round to welcome us and ensure we had everything we needed.
The cottage is situated just a short walk into the lovely town of Warkworth and its fantastic beach.

Would thoroughly recommend a stay here.

We stopped for a short 4 day break. The cottage is located just 12 mins walk from the centre of Warkworth with parking just outside of the cottage. The garden is small and has an area for any pet to have a wee.
Inside the cottage is spotless and very well decorated with many high end fittings. there is a lovely log burner which will keep the entire cottage toasty warm if you wish. There are also a number of thermostats to control almost all rooms of the cottage under floor heating, ideal when you come in from those long cold walks.
The cottage is very well equipped with all cooking utensils and glasses, if you cany find here it you have not looked in the right place. We settled in very quickly, a home from home.
In short this is one of the best cottages we have stayed in and we will defiantly return.

A lovely, well equipped, cosy (yet spacious) cottage, with beautiful views to Warkworth Castle and the sea beyond.

An easy walk into the village and other areas accessible by car.

Spotlessly clean and homely, we thoroughly enjoyed our week at Piggyback cottage.

Piggyback Cottage doesn’t disappoint in anyway at all it is just perfect.
It was a treat to ourselves for Christmas and provided a magical festive break. Everything you need and more to make a comfortable, relaxing amazing holiday. Fantastic location, so welcoming and can’t fault a thing. Highly recommend and will definitely be back very soon.

From the moment we walked in we knew we were going to enjoy our week here and we weren’t wrong! The location is fantastic and the views of the castle and sea second to non. The cottage is homely and everything has been thought about including an outside hose for muddy paws. Carla the owner is so friendly and helpful. We will be back!

We had a great stay in Piggyback Cottage. Carla was really friendly - so helpful when we were delayed and really thoughtful in providing a hamper of goodies with halloween treats and even pumpkins for the kids to carve on a rainy weekend! The cottage couldn't be better presented, it's clear the owners have put thought and effort into every aspect of the guest experience, with many great touches.
Even though it adjoins the owners property there is a good level of privacy and has views of Warkworth Castle and beyond to the sea.
Underfloor heating and a woodburner make it very cosy, which was perfect for a chilly October weekend. There is a neatly presented small garden area to the front but very limited in terms of outdoor space. No end of beautiful countryside and beaches walkable from the door though.

Thanks for a great stay!

Everything was great. The little extra’s make the difference especially when you first arrive. Home made scones, milk and the hamper all helped for a comfortable stay.

We spent a week again in Piggyback Cottage. It was so enjoyable and felt so homely. Carla the owner is a wonderful
Host and cannot do enough for you. The cottage is spotless and has everything you need. The bedrooms are so comfortable and the kitchen and lounge are perfect to relax and cook in. Our dog loved being near the beach and going for walks around the cottage in the mornings. The courtyard is perfect as she could not get out so felt at ease.
Would highly recommend this cottage and will be returning in the future.

Our third year using Coquet Cottages in Warkworth and yet again a fabulous stay.
Piggyback cottage was perfect, spotlessly clean throughout, included everything you could ask for and more.
A well stocked welcome hamper on arrival and a quick hello from the owner Carla to check we had everything we needed.
A ten minute walk into the town along the river bank, perfect location for dog owners.
A real home from home, we would happily return to Piggyback cottage.
