Once again we have just spent another fantastic week at the Kennacott Court Holiday Resort. We have been staying at this resort with our dogs twice a year for over twelve years now and enjoy every minute. The resort and cottages are very clean and tidy and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The resort is just off the A39 and only 5 minutes away by car from Bude town centre and an ideal location for day trips to Padstow, Newquay etc. The resort is very peaceful and a perfect place to relaxe and unwind. This is our second visit to Kennacott but our first in Dizzard. The house was lovely with great view across the golf course all the way to the sea. However the wifi was very intermittent which was annoying. The site is great with loads of activities for the family and we met up with our extended family and had a great time.
Kennacott House is situated in a really lovely site. The kitchen was well equiped. Excellent facilities such as swimming pool (although the shower did not work), the badminton court was excellent although it was annoying to have to pay extra for the electricity. Kennacott House had a lovely garden but it was a shame that it ran down to the woodland walk and was not fenced all the way round making it more secure.
Really nice place to stay, clean, comfortable, lovely sea view and good to have the grounds and facilities. Only negative is that the WiFi barely worked.
Fully equipped apartments. Quiet and easy to access area. Very friendly staff. A lot things for children to spend time (indoor pool, play ground, indoor play room).
This cottage was great holiday location; complex and equipment good, if a bit 'tired'; staff helpful.
Comfortable stay at widmouth cottage at Kennacot court.Nice clean accomadation, nice views. Really enjoyed the swimming pool. Friendly staff. Would return again.
My family (23 of us and our dog) enjoyed a fantastic week at Kennacott Court in 4 cottages. The location of the 3 main cottages meant we had a large grassy, communal outdoor picnic area and access to 3 barbeques. The 4th cottage was less than a minutes walk away and to honest the kids enjoyed being able to ride their bikes to and from without much supervision. The site from the outside was very well kept, freshly cut grass, beautiful flowers, decor and structures. It was also very clean. The facilities that were available were more than and better than we anticipated, including washing mach...more
Sandymouth cottage has a lovely location with beautiful views and great potential-however it is quite expensive for what it offers.Just a little time and care could make the cottage and the whole complex excellent. The groundsman worked very hard and the surrounds including the golf course were very good. The person acting as manager/ receptionist had to be contacted by phone as the office was generally left unmanned. The shower in the swimming pool was permanently broken so the pool had dirt and sand on the floor and a film of oily dust on its surface and the filter was not always switched o...more
This is the second time we have stayed in Pear Tree Cottage with my son and his 2 girls. It’s an ideal place for families with plenty to do if weather isn’t good enough for the beach. Well situated with Widemouth Bay very close - good for surf and sand. My only criticism would be the water was extremely hot and I was concerned it might burn the children. I reported this to the people on site.
On getting their we found the fridge was leaking, stains all over the carpet in the main room and the arms of the settee's were all ripped. Window's did not lock properly and needed screws in to fix the locks. We fixed them ourselves to secure them. We asked for someone to look at the fridge and the gardner was sent. He was very polite and tried to find why it was leaking but could not. I was told just to keep mopping the water up ever so often. We had paid in advance to use the golf course and the greens were exactly the same condition as the fairways. Although to play badminton was free y...more
We had been looking forward to our stay in what is described as a “luxury” holiday cottage. It cost a good deal more than we have spent previously and we expected something special. The accommodation was comfortable, but not at all luxurious. The bathrooms were shabby. The cooker looked very smart, but was not good at all, the oven did not cook properly. It was impossible to close the window between the kitchen and the utility room, which meant that there was no way to secure the property when we went out. In the description, it states that coffee, tea, dishwasher tablets and washing powder...more
Really attentive staff made us feel very welcome in this Cornish coastside home away from home. With enough facilities to keep all ages happy, tons of space to entertain, walk, play and exercise, these cottages are a perfect place to get away. The pool is one of the highlights and isn't overheated so good for lengths as well as the kids splashing about. The sports barn is unique too, and well-equipped for badminton, bring pound coins. Theres a few raquets provided for the tennis courts, and the well-kept football area with goals is a plus too. Back on the inside, the "upside-down " nature of...more
Originally booked into Cherry Tree Cottage & only advised that there was a problem with Cherry Tree when we arrived & were moved to Salthouse. Not happy with the Cottage & moved to Pear Tree which was fine. However Pear Tree only available until the 8th July when we had to move back into Salthouse for the last 2 days. We declined to do this & went home. Following complaints to the management we are waiting for the 10% refund which was promised.
The on-site games room, pool and games hall provided interest for all the family. The site location near Bude gave short trip access to many sites, including beaches and even a cinema just a mile away. The staff were helpful during the week and really impressed us when we left some possessions behind.
This is our second stay at Kennecot but our first stay in the granary. It was a lovely cottage with a beautiful light living space, we enjoyed the pool, the nature trail and beautiful area and views. There was a terrible smell in the kitchen when we first arrived and the next day it was even worse. We discovered it was the drip tray at the back of the fridge, we cleaned it out thoroughly and the smell improved. Other than that it was a very pleasant stay and would definitely go back.
disappointed that standard of cottages not being maintained given rental charged. Over 20 years visiting, cottages looking tired but location still amazing!
The cottages and grounds facilitate a great family holiday close to beaches and the town of Bude. However since our last stay, the cottage and facilities feel a bit less cared for, a bit shabby and worn.
We have visited Kennacott Court four times now, always enjoying our stay. Sadly this year the cottage is looking really tired, there was cleanliness issues on arrival which we had never had before. Really sorry but we won't be returning unless investment is made in the upkeep of the cottages. So sad as we love the Golf Course, snooker table and tennis courts all being on site. The "luxury" feel that is promoted is long gone.
This whole complex needs a big investment to bring it back to life as it all feels a bit tired and neglected. Overall, a nice location with plenty to keep the kids occupied. Foxhole cottage was pretty basic and felt tired. Certainly wouldn’t label it as a ‘luxury cottage’. Beds were uncomfortable and a pretty grim stain on the living room carpet. Reported an issue with the toilet flush on day 1 (it continued to fill with water constantly, causing a relentless noise) and the gardener was sent to look at it. Needless to say, he wasn’t qualified to fix it so had to listen to the noise...more
