This charming Cotswold stone cottage in the peaceful village of Blockley is a warm and welcoming home with spectacular views. In the words of the owners 'we bought a view, it just happened to have a beautiful cottage attached'. Set over three floors this comfortable home showcases the traditional features of a Cotswold cottage with open stone walls and wooden beams. It is a fantastic choice no matter the time of year with a delightful garden giving the most wonderful views of the rolling Cotswold hills beyond. Lark Rise Cottage has the benefit of accepting a dog and has two private parking spaces, a luxury in this rural village. This cosy country escape is perfectly placed for exploring the north Cotswolds with Chipping Campden, Moreton-in-Marsh, Chipping Norton, Bourton-on -the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold all within easy reach.

The cottage itself is spacious and cosy, with a stunning modern conservatory with sky light and windows overlooking the valley, perfect for watching the sunrise with a cup of tea. We were welcomed by a dozen or so Muntjac deer in the lower field when we arrived, magical! The kitchen is the heart of the home, where we cooked a meal, lit a fire and sat around the table doing a jigsaw, all overlooking the garden. The upstairs tv lounge was perfect for a bit of downtime. The rooms were spacious, well decorated and bathroom was large and shower powerful. Kitchen was well equipped, with blender and cafatiere. Also less than 10m to the pub for evening dinner, and a beautiful cafe for brunch. Perfect!

We had a lovely stay at Lark Rise Cottage, great views across the garden and valley, the bathroom and kitchen are new and well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. The en suite needs a little attention as no ventilation or heating. We popped into the village cafe for lunch which we would recommend

Nice stay,
Cute and perfect size house, confortable and convenient location, the only bad point was the mosquitos, bees and spiders that there were some dead in some ceilings and stuck on carpets, so I would suggest a little bit more cleanance, but I guess it is also, countryside atmosphere!. Beds were good and linen nice and new! In general happy choice!

The information we had about the cottage prior to arrival was excellent with all the ready need -to- know information such as full address and passcode for entry etc. The cottage has a beautiful garden and view with seating area outside and the cottage was fully equipped for our family of five who all enjoyed their stay and praised it.
Two areas of improvement would be . Standard of cleanliness. There were quite a lot of dog hairs and the kitchen floor had not been swept or washed. The first thing I did was to sweep it! For the money we paid this was very disappointing.
The other little comment would be about mirrors . As a family of five getting ready for a wedding , it would have been very helpful to have had a mirror in the en-suite bathroom and some light near the main bathroom mirror or putting another mirror opposite the bath nearer the light to see what we were doing !! (whichever would be easiest! )

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback on Lark Rise Cottage. We were very disappointed to learn that the kitchen floor had not been cleaned ahead of your visit. This was clearly an oversight and is not our usual practice. We have a comprehensive cleaning checklist and ensure ample time for it to be followed by our teams during changeovers, sorry that this was overlooked on this occasion. We understand that all the other floors had been cleaned properly. We are also sorry that we could not extend your stay as requested because we had new guests arriving on the day of your departure. Thank you for your suggestion regarding an additional mirror we will give it some thought. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay otherwise.

A beautiful, cosy cottage set in the picturesque village of Blockley. The views from the house and garden were spectacular and the property was comfortable and well-equipped. It would be perfect for two couples and a child as the third bedroom leads out of the second bedroom. There is off-street parking as well as parking on the street. We enjoyed the pastries at Blockley cafe and a very good meal at the Great Western Arms pub. It was a quick drive to the nearby villages of Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-on-the Marsh and we also did the walk to Batsford Arboretum and Sezincote. I would recommend this place and would be happy to return for another visit.

We are a family of four from the US who were using Lark Rise Cottage as our home base to explore the northern Cotswolds. We loved Blockley (the Store and Cafe are a tremendous resource) and the proximity it offered to the rest of the area. We appreciated the fact that Lark Rise is on the end of a row of houses, allowing us to have a side drive, side yard, and natural light on the side of the cottage. Highlights: location, charm, cleanliness, and a very well appointed and updated kitchen. Slight areas of improvement: new mattress for main bedroom and a clothes dryer. We appreciated the use of the clothes drying rack, however.
Note: stairs are shallow and taller people might struggle with hitting their head. I'm sure this is common with similar properties. It's part of the charm, right? We would stay here again.

We were thrilled with the view and garden at Lark Rise Cottage and loved walking to the town cafe and shop. We found the town very welcoming and enjoyed exploring nearby towns and gardens at Bourton House and Sezincote. The Batsford Arboretum is also an easy drive. We enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Old Butcher’s in Stow and we always love the Churchill Arms in Paxford which is sadly closed for awhile. The cottage was clean , well equipped and comfortable. Can’t wait to return.

Lovely stay. Apart from missing items on welcome pack (milk, teabags, dishwasher tablets, cloth) and garden furniture was a little sparse apart from plastic chairs - everything was very good. Sheets and bedding very clean and soft, bed comfortable and all furniture comfortable. Cooker was very good. Views superb. and garden were top drawer for our small dog. Really enjoyed the location. Blockley is so nice - village shop and cafe are really something special. Had brunch twice and it was such good quality and service was very good. Some great walks in the area but 30 yards down the road was the best walk across fields, through woodlands and fields back into the village. About 1 and a half hours - Loved it. Would love to go back to Lark Rise as overall it was such a good break. Also near Stow, Bourton on the water and Broadway.
