We used this delightful house as a base to explore the many villages and walks of the Northern Cotswolds . It had absolutely everything you could wish for in a holiday property - great location in a picture perfect village, gorgeous country views, great beds and linen, and cosy couches .
Perfectly presented just as one imagines with a thatched cottage. Beds lovely and comfortable Headroom a bit tight for tall people in upstairs twin room and bathroom but again what you would expect in a thatched cottage. Beautiful furnishings and lovely appliances. Outside garden area lovely and looked beautiful with fairy lights though not used as the weather was damp and windy which made the inside all the more cosy. Bolthole Retreats always lovely to deal with.
The property is located on the lake, east facing with great views of the sunrise. It has everything you need including games, tennis and table tennis equipment, 2 travel cots, lots of kids cutlery etc. all this made for an easy stay.

We spent 4 nights at The Calf Pens and enjoyed it immensely. We loved the location and its cozy feel. The owners were extremely welcoming and assisted us during our stay and the animals and farm shop were a bonus. The welcome pack was very much appreciated. It is ideally located for getting out and about or. walking in the local area along the Gloucestershire Way. We would happily return.
Communications with bolt hole retreats were fantastic, we were able to get in early to set up for 18 ladies staying for my 50th as we explored rooms we were blown away with Stunning rooms, paintings and furnishings!! Such a calm relaxing place to chill out in and entertain. The photos did not capture the beauty of this place! The kitchen is really very well equipped for large parties! We had a wonderful stay at The Old Manse. The property is absolutely stunning and has been renovated to an exceptionally high standard. The welcome pack we were given on arrival contained an exceptional quality of goods which were very much appreciated. The location is fabulous .. near enough to Burford without being in the middle of the tourists. Claire .. the main contact was lovely and helpful to deal with. Could not fault anything about this house and Would highly recommend this beautiful home for a stay in the Cotswolds.

We have just come back from a wonderful 3 days away at Outshot Barn and from the minute we arrived we knew we would be looking to rebook. The accommodation is gorgeous and comfortable, the rustic decor is fabulous and Sally and Ed are great hosts! The kids loved going out to feed the farm animals with Ed and were rewarded with fresh free range eggs which were amazing. We had an absolutely brilliant stay at Owls Nest Barn last weekend. David was very helpful from the moment we made contact and was really kind through the booking process. When we arrived the house was stocked with all the essentials including milk, cake and bread! A lovely touch. Everything in the house had just been kitted out with the most up to date appliances and had been done to a very high spec. We booked at Charlton Down Cottage, the booking experience was very smooth and all the arrival directions and details were easy to follow. The cottage itself was really nice, well equipped, warm and very comfortable. For those wanting fast internet it is worth knowing that the Cottage benefits from full fibre internet from rural broadband specialists Gigaclear which combined with the Smart TV meant it really was home from home. Cosy comfortable family cottage. Well stocked (kitchen, fire place, bath)! Kept clean and well presented. The location is just perfect - equidistant to Bath, Bristol and Cirencester, for someone who is looking for a long stay and have access to various spots to visit with family!

Our stay at High Pump was at the end of six weeks of travelling and it was by far the stand out accommodation of our trip. The cottage is beautiful, immaculately presented, and spotlessly clean. The attention to detail throughout was second to none. We loved the location and can’t wait to return.

Last year my sister had a little boy. My sister and I normally go away every year for a week’s holiday in the sun, along with my best friend. Not wanting to be away from her little one this year, we decided on a staycation over Easter. My mum also joined us with my little nephew. We were not disappointed in our choice of accommodation. The cottage is beautifully appointed with stunning views. Every room is tastefully decorated with a homely feel. I stayed at Lake Cottage to celebrate my Mum's 60th birthday. The property was spotless and so well equipped. We all commented multiple times on how the owners had gone above and beyond to fill the cupboard with everything you could need for a short break. The building itself is stunning and in a picturesque location. Not to mention the friendly pig on site who was a family favourite. I would highly recommend staying at Lake Cottage. We will be looking at booking our next staycation there shortly.
What a perfect location to get away from it all. When we walked in to the property it was warm and welcoming, the house is beautiful. There’s plenty of room inside and everything was freshly prepared for us. There were complementary basics to get us started which was most appreciated. If you want to get away from it all with family and or friends then this is an idyllic spot. We would all return!

Our stay at the Apple Store Cottage was nothing short of flawless. I highly recommend staying here to anyone considering a trip to Charlbury/West Oxfordshire. The location of the cottage was great. You’re right in the centre of Charlbury town, with cafes and pubs practically on the doorstep. But the cottage is also away from any roads so you get that calmness when you’re there. The cottage has all the utilities/equipment/facilities you would need if you just wanted to spend your entire stay indoors. We had a lovely stay at the lodge. A fantastic big bed and lovely spacious rooms with plenty of room for a little one to crawl around. The host Lisa couldn’t do enough for us and was absolutely brilliant and providing recommendations on where to visit locally. This is one of the premier 1 bedroom properties we have stayed in and we look forward to staying again.

The owners were most helpful and we have told them that it is our intention to return again . Cannot speak highly enough of the accommodation and cleanliness.
Such a picturesque house and setting. We loved our stay and the house had such a lovely feel to it felt like home from home. The house was well equipped and the gardens were beautiful with the most stunning views. All the beds were super comfortable we all slept so well with the peaceful location too. Great host we even got to see the new born lambs. Would loved to have stayed longer!
We stayed at Bertha Shepherd’s Hut for the weekend, and everything about it was amazing. The actual hut was even better than the pictures (which already looked super cute and cosy). There was everything you needed to cook, even bakeware. The bathroom was so nicely built and modern. Even just the torchlight they had was appreciated as we did explore the forest when it was dark. The view and the greenery from the hut was really pretty, and there was a lake at the bottom of the hill when you walk into the forest. Everything was spot on from the wonderful kitchen (even supplying spices and herbs) to the outside hose for washing the dogs after lovely long walks in the area. As a family group of seven we had a lovely stay in Teagles Cottage over Easter weekend. The cottage was just as described and was wonderful in every way. The kitchen was very well stocked with plenty of crockery, glasses etc. We were provided with a lovely welcome pack. The owner was in touch before we arrived and was very helpful. I would definitely recommend Teagles Cottage to anyone looking to stay in the Cotswolds.
Blockley is a quaint village nestled in rolling hills with a fabulous cafe to get your coffee fix and walks around the local hills galore. Lovely and clean cottage, perfect for our group of 6 and twin babies. Only negative is the company makes you check in after 4pm and check-out before 10am with no flexibility which we found a bit unreasonable.
Both the bath and shower were very slippery. Safety mat necessary. Instructions book could have been better.

We stayed at The Roost over the Easter weekend and booked only 3-4 weeks in advance. The booking process was seamless and fully automated and the information provided was excellent. The house was warm and welcoming and the property team/owner had thought of every little thing to get out stay under way, including a welcome pack with milk, tea and coffee and logs for the fire. A fine place to stay in the Cotswolds. Beautiful location and the house is luxuriously fitted. Only points to note are the fact that bedroom 3 really is for kids not adults ( this is actually clear enough in the details) and that you may need to buy extra paper products ( toilet roll and paper towels) during your stay.
Our stay at Wynyard Mill was perfect. The property is furnished to a very high standard and is very well equipped. The beds are all very comfy with hotel standard pillows and bedding. The housekeeper Dawn was very quick to reply to any queries we had. There is a great circular walk from the property. We saw Kingfishers sitting on the fence outside the kitchen window which was a treat. The only negative for the property would be for the ground floor bathroom. We stayed for 2 nights and had a wonderful weekend. The barn is beautiful and well equipped, the location is remote but easily accessible and provides a lot of privacy. Next time we would book for a longer stay as there’s so much to do and discover.
A delightful cottage in the heart of Burford. The cottage was immaculately clean and tidy and extremely comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. Parking was never an issue and the house was charming. Oxford was an easy drive and the villages of the Costwolds are all within easy reach.
Barebones was exactly what we wanted for get together (3 families, 13 people from 4 to 76). It had enough combinations of beds for everyone and enough space to get away from each other when we needed! The children loved the space, the garden, the teddies and all the books and toys. Everything was spotless and there was enough of everything to not have to keep washing up. We appreciated the welcome drinks and biscuits and the way Liz kept in touch with us beforehand. It was just great.
This little shepherds hut is a perfect escape to the Cotswolds. It was clear, well kept, with everything you could need. The hot tub and the view is excellent and made it a delight to come back to every night. The village is quaint and peaceful, with excellent historic churches to visit. The host went above and beyond to accommodate us and make sure we enjoyed our stay to the fullest. Thank you for having us, we recommend this location very highly and hope to be back!

The hosts were wonderful - there to see us arrive and could not have been more helpful, before during and after the stay. The Property is a great space, a real sense of character but with each space feeling distinctive and for the 12 of us we never felt cramped or on top of each other. I really hope we will stay there again in the future, in the meantime we have memories of a wonderful Christmas which was enhanced significantly by the venue which had everything we needed to make the most of the time. I can't recommend it highly enough.

We loved everything about Colebrook Cottage. It was clean, well equipped and very comfortable. The kids loved the table tennis room. Lots of storage too, and the old cells converted to a utility space were a talking point! The village is fab, great playground for the kids, good pub a 2 minute walk away, and Blockley cafe did the best breakfasts we’ve ever had. We’ll definitely look to stay here again next time we come to the Cotswolds.
I cannot find one negative remark about this property. Everywhere was spotlessly clean And in excellent condition. My family already requesting a return visit. Highly recommend this property if visiting the area.

We had a really nice stay at Quarry Lodge, the facilities and location were perfect and just what we needed for a peaceful break away from busy life.
The Sycamore is a nice apartment for two people. As mentioned you need to take steps to it from parking Level, but due to some "hilly" area, the terrace is then on apartment Level, next to owners garden. We did Not Miss anything; depending on length of stay, Towel Change might be useful, however, we did Not ask for it. The shower under the roof might be too small for very large People, for me with nearly 1,9 m it was still ok. Really a nice and calm Space. We did not meet the owner due to our daily trips, but all needed was cleared by Whatsapp. Very friendly! But you need a car to Go around
All very much as we expected, very spacious and comfy. Just a few niggles though as accommodation for 4 but only 3 stools at breakfast bar, 3 bowls and also needed to wash up during meals as not enough cutlery. All could be simply rectified. All very clean except shower which needs a minor refurb.

Just had a lovely few days with my sisters at Barn End Paxford. Tucked away in a lovely quiet village, pretty front garden with views to the valley in the distance. Good location to visit plenty of lovely places in the Cotswolds, we only had a short time but managed to visit Coughton Court, Hidcote and Batsford Arboretum. Don’t miss out on the breakfast at vegatable matters farm shop, Ebrington and we had a lovely lunch at The Roebuck Inn at Alcester, fabulous food with very generous portions and super friendly staff, also stopped off in Broadway and would recommend the Swan Inn for food. We were a gathering of uni friends from the 1980s, celebrating our 60th birthdays staying at the delightful Tom's Barn. This is a beautiful, spacious and homely barn conversion, providing a comfortable, well equipped, warm and tranquil home for the weekend. Clive and Lydia (hosts) were welcoming and at hand if needed. Their Devon Closewool ewes were lambing and this brought joy to the occasion, along with a visit to their farm shop on Saturday morning which has a variety of woven woollen garments, naturally dyed yarn and blankets, as well as home produced lamb, beef and vegetables for sale. We had a brilliant Christmas stay at Swangrove House. The property and surrounding grounds are truly magnificent, and the beautifully decorated Christmas tree awaiting our arrival made for a magical welcome! The main drawing room is very grand indeed, with soaring ceiling and abundant period windows and features, an effort for pictures to do it justice really. We loved reading in front of the large fireplaces while the winds howled outside (there are large open hearth fireplaces on two floors). We thoroughly enjoyed our short break at Stepping Stones. Everything was catered for and the welcome milk and wine got us off to a great start. We had a variety of interesting locations within a short distance. We hope to return very soon.
Excellent location cottage was quite comfortable, the stairs were not that easy,perhaps a photo of them along with the other pics would be a help. The garden was nice we just didn't have the weather .We did find the restaurants in Bourton a big let down very poor, and expensive. But on the whole we enjoyed our stay.
After an exhausting year we were ready for a break. The Drying House was a wonderful surprise. Very clean and comfortable with the joys of 2 bathrooms. The bed was incredible and we slept like the proverbial logs. Just a couple of minutes from the lovely Ledbury town centre but completely quiet and hidden away. There were ten of us staying here for Cheltenham races and it worked brilliantly (an easy 50 min drive even on gold cup day). It is lovely large house with space and facilities for a party our size with comfortable rooms and beds and whilst you need to drive to pubs the kitchen and large dining table made a great social hub. We got a large food order delivered when we arrived which was ideal and the combination of cooker/hob and aga was fine. Laura was a very helpful owner as well - so would thoroughly recommend.

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at Beecham House. There were 11 of us, we had lots of space and never felt like we were on top of each other. The house was furnished to a very high standard and was exceptionally clean, in fact we never felt like we were in rented accommodation, it felt more like we were staying in someone's beautiful home. We had such a lovely time here. Lovely house nicely furnished enough space for the family. If you are bringing small children there are no child plates cups cutlery etc which is not a big deal. There is a narrow travel cot and a high chair which is helpful. There are things close by for kids which was great. Garden space is lovely. Hot tub good quality and a great addition. We would recommend!
Lovely cottage in a great location, only downside was the oven was not very clean at all when we arrived which meant we could not fully use it.
Really lovely, cosy hut fully equipped with everything needed to have a fab time away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Probably the only thing I could have asked for was a slightly bigger coffee table but there is a proper pull out table and chairs hidden under the raised bed. What a fabulous barn - finished to a very high standard, but still managed to have that "homely" feel. Annual gathering of friends, we all loved it. Would definitely recommend and book again. Just one comment in relation to information about check in/out was a little confusing from Boltholes - easily fixed though.
We (2 family’s) had a lovely short break. The property is very big and plenty of room for the 8 of us. The house was clean and had everything you needed supplies, well equipped. Lots of great walks nearby and the Shitters in did some great food. All in all an excellent find. Steve
The village of Stanton is beautiful, we would love to revisit and for a longer period, to enjoy the local walking and of course the ‘pub’ The cottage itself is exceptional, in so many ways, and offers everything that we were hoping for on our trip to what is probably our favourite area to spend time. My only problem relating to comfort was the very hard pillows, unfortunately I found these too uncomfortable and we went out to buy ones we could use. We will certainly come to Stone Cottage again
We had a lovely stay at Rose Cottage - lots of lovely walks and a chilled weekend. We loved the local pub, and the coziness of the cottage… the log burner was a bonus. It was a great place to stay with our dogs - they certainly enjoyed the walks! Overall a fab stay!!
The location, comfort, and feel of the cottage was everything we were hoping for. What a superb location as well, just a stones throw away from one of the Cotswolds’ best pubs, The Bull. Will be returning and would highly recommend!

The Barn was just what we needed as a base for a weekend of friends meeting. It was spotless clean, warm and very well equipped with everything you could possibly need.
Our stay at the cottage was wonderful. The property is comfortable and charming. One note I’d like to call out is, in our experience, parking wasn’t so straightforward. There are a few spots nearby that were filled the whole time we were there and driving around trying to find parking to unload our luggage was a bit frustrating since it’s noted it’s easy. That’s all! We hope to return one day!
Swallows Rest cottage is a very well presented and equipped cottage in a beautiful location. The views from the Master Bedroom are wonderful and our children enjoyed watching the steam train pass. Laverton itself is a very picturesque village and makes a great base for exploring the local area, including Broadway which is a short drive away. We would definitely recommend this property

We stayed 3 nights at Singer House and found it to be very comfortable and well placed for exploring Chipping Camden and visiting the wider Cotswolds area. The beds were comfy and the kitchen well equipped. Being April the weather was mixed and quite cold but the house, when the heating was on, was warm and cozy. Little things seemed missing such as a welcome pack. (Usually provided when renting a property in this price range.) Needed a quick 4 day break in our favourite part of the country. Booked with Bolthole Retreats previously and very impressed, consequently we searched their website first. Crofter's Barn ticked every box for us. On arrival the location, comfort, decor, cleanliness went beyond expectation. Ideal property for a couple with plenty of space, very comfortable and centrally located to all the attractions in the heart of the Cotswolds. When we hopefully visit the area again later in the year and we will be staying at 'Crofters Barn'.
Everything was perfect. The location is beautiful. We were a group of 12 aged 21 up to 80 and it suited us all. The younger members had pool table,table tennis and hot tub and super walks.. Superb facilities. Tracey was so helpful..
Lovely cottage in the perfect location for the sights of Stratford and the surrounding area. On-street parking provided so you could leave the car and explore the town on foot as everything was within easy walking distance. The cottage was in the 'old town' area of Stratford, so very quiet enabling a good sleep. The property was very well kept and lovely and warm and welcoming. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for a stay.

The cottage was beautiful and in a fantastic location. It was extremely well equipped for cooking and very clean. The beds were all comfortable and car parking was very handy. Our first stay at Corner Cottage using Bolthole Retreats was as usual excellent, we have used Bolthole many times in the past.Corner cottage was everything we needed for a holiday in the beautiful Cotswolds. Bolthole are very easy to deal with and nothing is too much trouble. The only thing I would bring to the cottage owners attention is that in the kitchen the addition of a microwave and maybe a frying pan would make the whole breakfast experience perfect. Definitely be booking Corner Cottage again in the future.
What a warm welcome we all received - us and our dog! The hosts Stephen and Jess are experts at being very available when you need them at the same time never interfering - so we felt really looked after as well as feeling all the independence of holidaying in a separate space. The house was absolutely immaculate, very well equipped and Mary had provided such lovely treats (beautiful sponge cake, fresh eggs, milk & bread) on arrival. We had our toddler with us and Mary had thoughtfully put up a travel cot with lovely fresh blankets which our daughter loved and slept in beautifully. 2 families (4 adults and 2 children) stayed together at Fairview Cottage. The cottage is beautiful and the welcome pack was superb and very much appreciated. There is a community shop next door and a friendly pub only a couple of minutes walk away. The cottage was very well positioned for exploring the area, with Morton in Marsh, Stow and Daylesford all nearby and within 20 minutes drive to Broadway or Burford. Thank you so much, we will definitely be returning.
The only issue was with parking. A car had been left across the two allocated spaces and did not move all the time we were there. The caretaker was helpful in that we were allowed to use the allocated parking for another cottage which was empty during our stay, but when we went out someone else parked There as well! This probably needs to be mentioned/sorted with the owners as I imagine this happens regularly and there is nowhere else to park.
We stayed at this house with a group of friends for a weekend and had a lovely time enjoying the surrounding nature. The house was clean, quiet and had good access to country walks.

We could not be happier with the condition of the property and the facilities. This made for a thoroughly enjoyable stay, Because of the location parking whilst loading and unloading was a nit of a problem but in the scale of things this was a minor issue.

We have just returned from a wonderful weekend away at Lower Lodge Barn. The facilities were perfect and generally very clean. Our only gripe would be the outside seating areas were not as clean as they could have been, but this is always tricky when surrounded by farm land and it was very windy. The location for us was perfect and we had the best time - thank you!
Everything was lovely at Lovell Cottage... Comfortable beds, well equipped, good showers and lovely places to gather. The pub just a two minute walk away was also perfect for a Saturday evening meal. Local Burford and the Burford Garden Centre both within a 10 minute drive, were ideal places for a mooch, coffee and Sunday brunch. Only downsides were low seats at the kitchen table and a very uncomfortable pink sofa in the second lounge. The heating was also not consistent and kept going off... We loved our stay at Thimble cottage, it's a perfect location with lovely local walks. It was very clean and quiet and finished beautifully. But be aware there is no guaranteed parking that comes with the cottage so you need to account for this in your day trip planning. There was literally nowhere to park in the village on a Saturday afternoon due to tourists so we had to stay out for longer. Obviously can't be helped but good to know! We stayed for a couple of nights over the Easter holidays with two children (12&11) and had a wonderful time. The cottage is very pretty with a lovely little outside space. If the weather was a little warmer it would have been the perfect spot for a BBQ (provided) with a stunning view over the valley. My husband and I had a wonderful long bank holiday weekend for Easter at Ridgeway Farmhouse. We had our gorgeous granddaughter and our fur baby with us. The farmhouse is absolutely spectacular with the most wonderful views we’ve ever seen. The house had everything you need and we really enjoyed the cake and wine that was left for us on arrival. We had a great stay at Whippet Cottage with our two whippets. The house was really well equipped and the communal garden was lovely. The beds were comfy and the conservatory was a great space for a family meet-up. Bretforton village is really sweet and the Fleece Inn is cosy and welcoming. We loved walking the dogs around the village - especially seeing the alpacas!

Me and my boys stayed whilst visiting the Air festival and it was a perfect spot. The beds and bedding were even better than home. So we now all want new sheets and pillows. So soft and comfy. I booked this lovely cottage for a small family get together and not knowing the area well , took a chance on the location and whilst the cottage is in a rural location (no shops/pubs) the nearest town Burford had all we needed. The cottage is well equipped but bring basics like tea, coffee milk etc and if u want to light the fire you will need to locate fire logs, none provided for us. There is enough cutlery and cups etc for 6 , the garden is lovely and private. A very enjoyable stay in a well equipped, comfortable and well presented property on the edge of Winchcombe.
We really enjoyed our long weekend here. The location made it very easy to travel around the Cotswolds and also visit Stratford-upon-Avon which is only 20mins away. The outlook over the fields is beautiful, we loved having our private garden and hot tub. The log burner is a lovely addition and it really did feel home from home.
The cottage was very well appointed and had everything we needed for a lovely stay. I'd definitely recommend Maisey Cottage.
Lovely house, very comfortable for large family group. Great communication, easy to find. Parking in road behind - can manage without the car unless you want to visit other parts of The Cotswolds. We stayed in the cottage with 4 friends and enjoyed our time there immensely. The cottage and its surroundings were idyllic and the location was ideal for trips we made to Stroud and Cirencester. Walking down the valley into Painswick for lunch and returning via the Cotswolds Way was a really interesting walk. Things that need improving. Outside furniture was inadequate if there were 10 people staying. The dining table was poor and warped. No instruction manuals for oven, hob or barbecue. No tray in he showers for shampoo ad soap.
Beautiful cottage right in the centre of Stow on the wold. Beautifully decorated and lovely and clean. We didn't manage to park outside the cottage as someone was there already. However this didn't matter, as literally 5 mins away a 72hour free car park. The people in the area were really friendly. The shops and restaurants were lovely. Had an after tea and went for a lovely countryside walk. Totally switched off during our family stay. Will definately be coming back soon. Thank you x

Property was of a high quality but a few niggles which need addressing. Arrived to a minor infestation of ants in the kitchen around the floor and work surface. Also moths especially in top bedroom. Loose slab on steps up to garden, which was a hazard and a shame the patio areas hadn't been swept as they too were slippery in the wet (some of our group was using the lovely annexe). Apart from that we really enjoyed our stay and there was plenty of room for our party of 5 adults and dog! Hope to return some day.

We enjoyed our visit to Meadow View, the cottage was lovely and in a village which was accessible to the places we wanted to visit. The cottage was clean and comfortable but we felt that the outside ‘utility’ room which housed the washing machine needed some decoration. I also feel a few more cooking utensils and cutlery would be beneficial.
I booked this property for a short break, wanting a location away from the main busy villages of the Costwolds and this location fit the bill perfectly. The cottage has clearly had a lot of love, time and thought (and money!) put into its renovation and fixtures/fittings/decor, which shows not only in the photos, but in real life too. The house is in the most perfect location with amazing views, right on the banks of the river wye and next door to the owners lovely pub / hotel, The Saracens Head. The house is very well equiped and would cater well for both families and a group of friends looking for a relaxed stay. I stay at the pub/hotel many times on business and its always a pleasure to come back, especially with my family. Can't recommend it highly enough.
Our stay at Thatch Cottage was so very good. The interiors are super and very stylish, all kitchen utensils plus more are provided. We did not have to take anything but ourselves to enjoy this gorgeous property and it is central to the beautiful cotswold towns and villages. Would definitely book again.
Ideally situated. Could have taken one step forward & included complimentary tea/coffee etc. just incase people arrive late . No wardrobes or coat hangers is a big minus. The five of us stayed at the cottage for a Work Retreat. We are self employed and loved the cottage. It was very hot! Great space to work and relax in our own space too. The bedrooms were comfortable. Everything we needed! Great location for walks, pubs and remote to relax.

Our stay at Field View was wonderful - the house is very comfortably appointed, and the location at the edge of a quiet village meant it was very peaceful. There was everything needed for our time there, and with Cirencester an easy 10 minute drive away, our holiday was well-balanced between time in a rural location with ready access to shops and things to do. Amazing house, with everything you could need. We stayed with our children and young grandchildren , 10 of us altogether, with 1 dog and there was plenty of space for everyone. The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. It was the perfect place for us, completely relaxing, but within a 15/20 minute drive to everything.
The cottage was comfortable but the noise from the central heating cupboard in the main bedroom caused sleep disturbance, as did the fan in the ensuite bathroom, which did not turn off. The shower cubicles needed hand rails and neither bathroom had any storage space. Directions on how to operate the washer/dryer would have been useful. The allocated parking bay is not useful for any car larger than a mini or similar. The house needs a deep clean to include floors and skirting boards, which were dusty and debris from previous occupants was evident in the dining area.
What a perfect place, in a perfect location, in a gorgeous part of the Cotswolds! Kimkeri was a lovely cottage and so spacious! 3 really good size bedrooms, 3 sitting areas! There was only my husband and I, and our 2 year old but we would have easily had another 2 adults comfortably stay with us. Very comfortable beds and the kitchen was really well equipped. The place is really lovely. Bedrooms really nice with lovely linen and comfy beds. Lounge and kitchen and balcony all great spaces. However the steep stairs were really steep! One or two of our party found them a bit difficult and it would have been better with a toilet upstairs in the ‘living ‘area. I know it is mentioned in the details but we didn’t really notice it (our fault) - maybe a picture would be better? The property is lovely but we wouldn’t have rented it if we had realised how steep the stairs were.
The cottage is lovely, beautifully kept and cosy. The owners / contact were great, extremely helpful. The location is ideal - though parking a little tricky. There were some tiny things (no table to put your cup of tea on while watching tv, a coffee machine but no coffee pods), but overall would definitely recommend!
We had a great break away at Maple House. 9 of us stayed but there was plenty of space for all of us and it was just what we needed. The hot tub was the perfect addition! A great location for great walks, amazing pub next door. We would definitely stay again.
In a nutshell, Emma Dent provided excellent accommodation. It is very well equipped, particularly the kitchen. It was clean, fresh. Against a raft of positives we would mention two things to possibly think about. 1. There are two green sofas in the lounge. They are both very soft and after a short while start to become uncomfortable. Our recommendation would be to either change the cushion filing or replace one of the sofas with one more armchair. 2. A lovely cottage in the centre of the village. On the 'main road' of Marshfield, but a very quiet road with little traffic. Easy walk to two pubs and the village shop and access to unlimited number of beautiful countryside walks. Location excellent as near to two superb National Trust properties and close to Bath. We had a wonderful stay at Westerleigh cottage; it is beautiful, spacious, tastefully decorated, well-maintained, comfortable and clean. The garden is delightful, offering lovely views. Situated in a charming village not far from Cheltenham, it is an ideal base for exploring the Cotswolds. The booking process was smooth, and communication excellent.

We had a lovely stay at Almsbury Farmhouse last weekend. As our family grows it becomes more difficult to find places big enough for us: fortunately our new baby didn't count so we were able to fit all 15 in easily. There was lots of comfy seating and dining space and a well equipped kitchen with very useful wine fridge. The children loved the rambling building, great for hide and seek! I booked the Cottage on behalf our relatives visiting from America. They really loved Box Cottage, and thought it was perfect, with all the English charm, yet with all the modern conveniences. They thought the patio garden was delightful, and everything inside the Cottage was catered for their needs. It is a great location right in the heart of Broadway village, yet very quiet and peaceful.
Beautiful Cotswold cottage in an amazing location. Exactly right for our visit 'back home'. We hardly needed to use the car. It's location on the edge of Winchcombe meant walking into town and into Sudeley Castle was easy, to say nothing of countryside walks. If you're looking for a genuinely peaceful location in a gorgeous setting look no further. The only slight niggle was the toaster didn't work - it blew the electrics each time we tried. I reported it but it wasn't changed for the following day. We used the oven grill instead so no biggie.
Mercia is a stunning house in a fantastic central location in Winchcombe with wonderful views from the back sitting room / kitchen and garden. It is a short walk to a couple of supermarkets and a variety of independent shops, pubs and restaurants, while there are excellent walks from the house, including to Sudeley Castle. It is really convenient to be able to park at the rear of the property. We had an issue with the heating but that was resolved satisfactorily by the very helpful housekeeper. We had a delightful stay at Anne Boleyn’s cottage. We are a family of four with a dog and we found the cottage very comfortable. The location was great as we were only a short walk from Winchcombe High Street and we looked over the sheep field with lambs. Everything we needed was provided in the cottage including torches for late evening dog walks! Sudeley Castle entrance was included with the stay and we found that really interesting.
We had a very enjoyable stay at Ledge View. If we were in the area again we would certainly consider booking to stay again.

We stayed at The Bothy for 2 nights in Feb 2024 and whilst we were thrilled with the location, proximity to Bibury centre and beautiful walks, we were disappointed with general cleanliness in the cottage itself. The cottage was filled with cobwebs and much of the cooking equipment / utensils were covered in either stains or mess from prior cooking that hadn’t properly been cleaned - so much so that we decided not to use the facilities to cook the breakfast that we had bought prior to arrival. We emailed the property manager on the chance of an earlier check-in and were delighted that we could arrive earlier than planned. The house is in a small pretty village and we had ample driveway parking. We were left a handwritten card from the property manager which was a really nice touch. The house had excellent walking routes from the door and a pretty village shop. Shortly after arrival we discovered that parts of the house had not been cleaned at all from prior guests. We had a really enjoyable stay here. A 10-15 minute walk from the centre of Bourton on the Water. It was spacious and clean with a large open plan kitchen which is modern and well-equipped. I really liked the option of 3 sitting spaces, one in the snug, one in the main lounge and one area in the kitchen. The children slept well and the area is very quiet. The only negative is that the property needs some TLC in certain areas - there is mould and damp around some of the upstairs windows, the door latch was loose and eventually broke so we weren't able to lock the door from inside. We had a lovely time at Winchcombe staying in the Oliver Cromwell apartment. Ideal location , 2 min walk from the high street but very peaceful and pretty. The Apt was very comfortable , warm , clean with everything you need to make use of. A few small paint areas that need a touch up perhaps , in the shower room for example but everything inside the apt was clean and tidy. My sister and I stayed at the Hayloft for 2 nights in order to visit Blenheim for Christmas.... the cottage was very comfortable, very cosy and warm... it was very clean, the bedrooms were a delight... i have marked down slightly on condition as the bathroom was a little dated.. other than that, it was excellent and i would not hesitate to recommend it.... the complex was beautifully maintained, the gardens stunning.... it is a shame the weather was not better BUT it was December!! Enjoyed our short break at the Cider Barn Lovely hot tub! Great Location! Great enclosed garden, which our Basset hound fully enjoyed playing in. Ideal for my elderly mother with mobility issues, being all on one level. Only a few issues, shame no milk, when we arrived as there was tea, coffee, sugar provided. I did find the mattress on the Double Bed quite uncomfortable, a King Size bed would have been nicer. Also being on a farm the road down to the barn was full of large pot holes which you have to try and navigate around! Overall we all did have a very relaxing stay.

We stayed at Corn Close for a long weekend as a group of ladies & it was great! House was beautiful & just what was needed for our weekend away to make it a home from home. There were a couple of small things that you would expect with it being a holiday home but nothing that would stop me from encouraging others to book this place for their future getaways in the Cotswolds!

We had a few nice days in Jasmine cottage. It's a very cosy house, very clean and all we needed was provided. Friendly people too and a nice swimmingpool with heated water. The only thing we didn't like was the location. Outside was a lot of noise from the traffic on the road very near to the cottage. And only after we made reservations we found out that the swimmingpool was only at our disposal between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. A bit of a disappointment there.

Brock Cottage was a fabulous house for our weekend extended family gathering. The house is well equipped and full of interesting art and objects, it is an eclectic, creative space, wonderfully unique and interesting. It is large enough with numerous living spaces for everyone to have enough space. The main living space has loads of light and was a lovely room to sit and spend time. The track is quite potholed but fine taking it slow. The children particularly enjoyed the garden with the trampoline and swing. Many thanks.

Lovely, clean and comfortable accommodation. Good sized bedrooms, kitchen and living room. Felt spacious with 6 adults. Great location opposite the entrance to Sudeley Castle. A little bit further away from the town than other Sudeley Castle cottages - a 10-15 min walk as opposed to 5 mins. Lovely garden to sit out in. Winchcombe offers everything you need from pubs and restaurants, to a well stocked small supermarket. Loads of walks from your door - no need to use a car.
A group of friends stayed at Otley house for the weekend in December, a great location if you want to visit Cheltenham, it's on a residential street with free parking for those who are coming with 3 or more cars (we all lived in different directions). The walk from the centre is about 35 minutes, and there are some lovely shops in Bath Road as well as pubs along the way. The gatehouse was a lovely location, the accommodation suited us as two couples we enjoyed visiting local sites of interest especially the castle and the steam railway in Winchcombe. We would recommend the Indian restaurant in Winchcombe and had a nice meal in the Pheasant pub in toddington. We would like to make a few polite recommendations, There was an ant problem in the kitchen side of the building which we reported and was told it would be sorted out. Had a lovely few days at the cottage at Sudeley Castle great location and lovely cottage. Only downside was the accommodation above us we could hear every footstep, chair moving, tv and toilet flushing slightly annoying!
I stayed at Oak Tree Cottage while building work was being carried out on my home . It was a real haven . The Cottage is warm and peaceful . I had everything I needed. My daughter joined me for a few days and the accommodation worked really well with each bedroom having its own bathroom . I live in the village so am probably biased about the area but there is plenty to do within a short drive including The Fox .
We stayed at the suncroft cottage for a weekend. The agency were good in setting up the stay and providing information. The location was nice and the overall look of the cottage was lovely. However, the property was very very dirty. It looked like the cleaner hadn't hoovered. The carpet was very dirty and our socks were black within an hour of standing in the cottage. In my opinion the photos showed a more desirable condition of the accommodations than they actually are. Unfortunately, during our stay demolition was taking place on the property next door so it was not the quite serene get away that I had anticipated. Lovely grounds and in close proximity of Witney.
We stayed here whilst working at Sudeley Castle for a couple of days and it was fantastic. Clean, comfortable, cozy and a brilliant price. All the amenities you could need, a lovely quiet location, plenty of parking. We loved it.
Hillside Cottage was in a fantastic location and the sitting/dining room was lovely and cosy with beautiful autumnal views. We found the log burner difficult to keep lit which was disappointing. The shower was very weak and lacking pressure. Also insufficient hot water for a bath on arrival. There is a musty slightly damp odour in the property.
Location perfect. Quiet village with lovely walks - ebrington arms pub serve delicious food and was handy being so close. Easy to reach larger towns and villages such as Broadway , Moreton-In-Marsh and Stow. Negatives were that the beds were very uncomfortable- have returned home and spent two days in bed with strained lower back. We also found the kitchen wasn’t well equipped. One tea towel for four days and it would have been nice to have a small essentials hamper on arrival with milk .
We really enjoyed our stay in Charles 1 cottage. It was clean and comfortable with everything you needed. There were some nice touches with coffee and tea and jams plus some fresh milk in the fridge - (I particularly liked the coffee machine) and some nicely thought out toiletries in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable although the bed lights took a bit of working out and the right side one has a problem with the bulb. It would be nice to have had a chair to put clothes on when undressing. Our stay in Butts Farm was the most lovely experience. Adam welcomed us with some Easter bunnies for the children egg hunt and a very nice bottle of organic red wine for the grown ups. The farm is amazing, provides for the most comfort, the beds are amazing and the common areas make for the greatest shared activities, from ping-pong to puzzles and board games. This cottage is an absolute gem, beautifully decorated and furnished whilst being cosy and homely, a great getaway with friends and such a relaxing place. I would definitely return.
Good accommodation on 3 levels which was good for us but would not recommend for young children or the elderly as steep stairs and toilet not on same level as beds. Beds made up incorrectly for us as we wanted 2 Kings and 1 bed made up as twins. In house info also says (as well as Bolthole retreats info) request for twins, so we thought we wouldn't need to request for Kings. Did not enjoy sleeping in a single bed. We booked this cottage to attend my brother's wedding and it did not disapoint. The picture's are exactly as shown and you instantly feel at home,relaxed and welcomed. My children loved it,fantastic hide and seek house and my mother and friend loved chatting by the fire with a glass of wine. We will be back. Talk to the neighbours and you'll find any parking issues can be sorted by asking for extra spaces if needed.
The stay was great, the bedroom and the kitchen are great and very well maintained and clean. But the place has some holes in the walls and roof were you can see the wiring and plumbings of the heater. Also there were lots of spiders, slugs and spiderwebs too. In this sense it is missing some cleaning too.
When we arrived at the property at about 6pm on the Saturday, there were already dead flies on the kitchen worktops and on the beds in the 2nd bedroom. We were not too impressed but thought it was down to poor cleaning of the property. Later in the evening we noticed continuous buzzing sounds and saw quite a few flies which we attempted to kill. We went to bed but the kids in the second bedroom were particularly disturbed by the continuous buzzing sound from flies during the night. A substantial accommodation, large rooms and decent kitchen area. All heating was off when we arrived and 6 degrees c outside and similar inside, as it’s a big, old property with central heating, it was the second day before it was starting to become comfortable, and warm just as we were leaving. The seating in the main sitting room needs replacing as very little support left in the chairs and sofa, so we used other rooms. We had a nice time at fisherman’s cottage , it was clean and tidy on arrival and the welcome Guide was very thorough and helpful. My only criticism would be the beds- we did not find the mattresses comfortable or the pillows and feel investment in some good quality ones would make all the difference. We loved having the log burner on the chilly nights. We would definitely come back in the summer - maybe a hot tub on the decking would be a welcome Addition!
What a treat to arrive to a warm fire, beautifully decorated Christmas tree, wine and cake. Bluebell is a beautiful cottage. Magnificent views. My only negative is that if you are wishing to self-cater, the crockery and cutlery is quite limited.
En suite too small to be functional Lack of shelving/storage space/hooks for clothes in bathrooms Parking space mud covered All kitchen cupboards full of crockery, cutlery, dishes pans etc so nowhere for food except small fridge (freezer in outhouse full of old food and hadn't been defrosted for a long time when we arrived). I counted 40 knives in the drawer! The list goes on - great location and a nice building but it needs someone to take an interest in it. Dogs allowed but really not dog friendly
Overall a great place, and we'll definitely be back. Preparation was a bit sloppy though, and we had to ask for a few things: When we arrived, there was no: 1/ Camp cot 2/ Fire wood 3/ bbq But host response was timely and attentive and all of these issues were remedied immediately.
Nice size rooms, high quality comfortable bedding and excellently maintained gardens. A quiet retreat that is a short drive from amenities. Some of the things that was listed as being included was not such as initial washing up liquid and tea bags. There were a few nice treats though on arrival.
A glorious weekend with excellent facilities with SO much to do within touching distance. We took both cottages for 3 couples and a young child in a cot. The highlight was the garden complete with BBQ and space for a toddler to roam free. We also loved the general standard across the property and the eco credentials (heat pump, eco toiletries etc). Beautiful property in a great location. The property is really spacious and accommodated 10 people easily. House was lovely and clean. The disappointing part of the house was the kitchen. The hob had a big crack down it and was a bit temperamental when we were cooking, the dishwasher was appalling - no cutlery stand, no rack to stack the plates in and it didn’t drain properly. We spent the whole weekend washing up, which is not ideal on holiday - especially when there are 10 people. Oldbury Barn is a beautiful home in an exceptional setting. Customer service was excellent and the pre-stay information the best I’ve ever seen. Having two fridges was very good and the freezer was a decent size. Provision of crockery and cutlery was great, the travel cot, stair gate and high chair was appreciated, but there weren’t sufficient wine glasses for the number of guests staying and the dining table a squeeze for eight adults and two toddlers. Such a beautiful cottage in a tiny and picturesque Cotswold town. It’s very well equipped and comfortable, although some further amenities such as body wash/soap, shampoo and conditioner would make it a better experience. Close to bourton and stow but peaceful with horses as the only traffic passing by.
Overall a sweet cottage. Well equipped kitchen. Dining table for 6 a bit small. Just felt a few things were a bit skimped: small bath towels, lack of pillows, only just enough wine and champagne glasses . Outside Mark up the waste bins so it’s easier to know what to put where. Despite requesting cottage would be warm for our arrival it was cold. My overall sense was that it was overpriced for what it was.
The website and the welcome book in the cottage itself clearly stated that we would receive a welcome pack with fresh milk, butter, half a dozen eggs, bread, biscuits/cake, snacks and a bottle. All we were given were a pack of Malted Milk biscuits and a bottle of sparkling apple juice, so wasn't a great welcome! The cottage is in need of some TLC, especially the garden which was overgrown and untidy. The gates don't lock either which meant the dogs were able to run out into the road. We booked three cottages together to accommodate our family for a wedding, which worked really well. Not too far to the wedding venue so very convenient. Lovely location with stunning views. Spacious accommodation.
Beautiful location, lovely warm accommodation, we enjoyed the views and had everything we needed for a family get away. Easy reach of Blenheim and great base for visiting. Was very cold during our stay, the Granary was very warm and cosy. EV charger available. Good communication with host who kindly posted back home left item. A great stay and we will visit again
Great little cottage for the four of us. Comfortable and well equipped. Kids loved the trampoline outside. Be warned the nearby A417 gives a constant hum of traffic but otherwise the location is good. Easy to get to Gloucester, Cheltenham, or into the Cotswolds AONB. Nearby Crickley Hill has great views; we liked the pub in Birdlip; laser tag in Cheltenham; Nina Warrior and cathedral in Gloucester; Cotswold Farm Park is great for kids and animal lovers. Lots to do!
Comfortable well-furnished cottage with a beautiful view outside our windows where we enjoyed our stay. There were some nice hikes around the property and we took one of them. There was a cute pub close by. The road to the property was long and narrow. Recommend stocking up on a few basic groceries before you get there because the cottage does not have any. Our access code for the door did not work when we got there on a cold, dark, rainy evening. A few communications later we got the correct code.
A cosy cottage spread over four floors. We had a lovely week at Walkley Wood Cottage. The beds were particularly comfortable. It is very handy for exploring the Cotswolds.
