We stayed in the property first as a group of friends prior to my wedding, and then in the final week for my honeymoon. It could not have been better - the location was great, with Shanklin easily accessible, ample parking and a bus stop close by. The house felt brand new and could not have been cleaner - bedrooms, bathrooms and the kitchen had everything we could possibly have wanted. We are also very thankful to the owners for the welcome card and milk in the fridge, as well as the quick and friendly service to replace bedding and towels. The only suggestions I would have are that there w...more
We have had a fantastic week at Highlands. We booked Apartments 2, 3 and 4 and they were all excellent with the bonus of having our own private entrance door for all three. The apartments were clean with everything you could need for your stay. Excellent location for Shanklin and the beach. View of the beach from Apartment 4 was amazing. I would definitely book again and would recommend these apartments if staying with friends or family.
We stayed here a few weeks ago, liked it so much, we booked another week. It was an ideal location for us, right in the heart of Cowes. The view from the balcony across the Solent was superb! The accommodation was excellent with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. Highly recommended.
I was delighted with the accommodation and would most definitely stay again. I am returning in three years and would choose this flat again.
This is a lovely holiday house. Each room is well furnished, with comfortable bedrooms and living areas. The kitchen has all the equipment you need and the general upkeep of the house and furniture was good throughout. There was plenty of space for all of us (4 adults, 2 children and a dog), and we were able to enjoy the decent sized garden for dinning and playing. The garden backs onto the coastal path which provides great views from the balcony and a fairly quick walk to the beach. The nearby beaches are very nice and it’s a good base for staying on the island. I would definitely recomm...more
Very comfortable & clean chalet. Lovely position for beach & coastal walks. If you want peace & quiet this is an ideal base.
Throughly enjoyed our stay here , warm clean and tidy , great holiday home , nice pubs and walks to the coast , great sea views
Our holiday visit to 12 Shanklin Manor was the result of a recommendation from our daughter. We expected it to be OK but it was so much better than that. Our only problem was with the sound/tv system where we were unable to get tv sound and subtitles, but this was very quickly sorted for us. Overall an excellent base for our holiday.
If your looking for peace and quiet than look know further,my wife and I spent a week at red cedars and found the surroundings very beautiful. We were made very welcome by Barry and Hilary and the chalet surpassed our expectations.
This is our third time at this apartment and it never disappoints. The apartment is maintained to a very high standard and the facilities are excellent. A couple of minor points I raised on my last visit had been addressed. The sea views from the balcony are breathtaking. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment.
Lovely cottage ideal location to visiting all of the island with car..One small downside there is no path near cottage to walk anywhere to so have to use car. There is a bus stop a few yards up or down road but bit dangerous as no path to either.
Fabulous views of the sea from every room in the house! Clean and comfortable, with easy access to Ventnor town centre and beach/esplanade. We have stayed before and will definitely stay again.
Cosy bungalow in great location close to train and shops. Clean and quiet. We had everything we needed.
There was 7 of us staying at Pier Top for the week and there was plenty of room for us all. It was a lovely place with everything you needed and more it was very comfortable with the little extra touches making it feel like home from home. Myself and my husband used the bedsette in the front room which was very comfortable and easy to put up and down and the big chest to keep all the bedding in was great as it was all at hand. The location was ideal as we were a stone's throw away from the shops and the seafront. The only thing we were a bit disappointed with was the garden and the decking ...more
The cottage is located on a farm in the central Isle of Wight. It is small but comfortable and is the only rental property on the site. The farmer, Richard, is very pleasant and helpful, and there are numerous ducks and chickens roaming around, together with a very affectionate dog. The wi-fi is very slow, but just about OK for browsing and Facebook. Otherwise, the cottage is well equipped and conveniently situated for visiting the whole island.
We really enjoyed our stay at Fairlight. Only criticism was that the bed in the small bedroom was not comfortable, mattress very lumpy and bed frame rickety. However we used spare duvet as a mattress enhancer and it was more comfortable. Had a lovely week visiting Osborne House and the Zoo on two cloudy days and spent the rest of the days on Sandown beach, paddle boarding etc., and in the evenings we walked into town for evening meal. Would definitely return again and recommend to friends and family.
So pleased with our stay.Very 50's feel, kept expecting my parents to walk through the door and i now have this overwhelming urge to read Enid Blyton.Only got home on Saturday and rebooked for next year this morning,Tuesday.Says it all.
Our fifth stay in Trinity View and we loved it as much as ever. The house is clean and comfortable and spacious enough for me to holiday with all my extended family. My seven grandchildren enjoy having their own 'playroom' (the snug); it is really useful to have so many shower and bathrooms - no one ever has to wait and that means we are all ready to go out much more quickly than if we had to queue for bathrooms; the kitchen is huge, which means that three or four people can all be preparing meals or sandwiches at the same time, and we really appreciated the new kitchen equipment this year, es...more
Such a lovely house with a sea view, wonderful tended gardens with visiting red squirrels, badgers and foxes if you put food out, and in walking distance to The Old Pak Hotel and Binnel Bay. Well equipped and worth a stay.
It would have been helpful to have had space in the cupboards for our own groceries instead of them filled with other peoples stuff. Fridge and microwave need replacing. The chalet is ideal for families with young children as they can play safely outside.
We loved the fact that this house feels homely and comfortable. Some comments in the visitors' book objected to the age of appliances; we would much rather have old appliances that work brilliantly than new-fangled complicated things that don't. It is homely and comfortable rather than gleaming and pristine, which is just the thing for a relaxing holiday.Lack of wi-fi is also reflected in the reasonable price. The house is incredibly well-equipped. Our only comment on the appliance front would be that the frig was big enough for us two - just - but we would have struggled for frig-space if we...more
A clean and fairly well equiped house, only downsides we found was there is far too little outside drying line ,although there is a clothes dryer in the utility room. Also the single bunkbeds are on the small side, OK for smaller children but not for anyone over the age of 13 , and one of my grandsons put the matress on the floor to sleep as his feet hung over the bottom. We have used the house four times over the years as we are a large family and the garden is secure for our small dog which was good .The parking can be a bit tricky reversing onto the road at times but again with practice its...more
We had a perfect week at Willow House, we were welcomed by Chris (one of the owners) and he gave us all of the info that we would need for our stay. He was very helpful and advised us that they were local should we need any help at all. It was an extremely hot week so the pool was amazing and used every day. The kids and their grandad, loved the water cannons that the owner let them borrow. The house itself was very clean and well equipped which is great as we were a large party. The location was really good with a bakery, chemist and pubs all within walking distance (highly recommend the ...more
The apartment was well appointed, clean and well equipped, with sea views from most angles. The bonus was the terrace, ideal for relaxing with a glass of wine. Within walking distance of the old village of Shanklin with its various restaurants and cafes.
Very big accommodation bedrooms good size beds very comfortable love the patio from kitchen nice to sit early morning Close to village , very handy not having to drive there , loads of eating places and close to sea front , nice walk . I come to the island every year this year was nice because we had loads of room in the house and was not bumping in to each other . Look forward to next year Thank you The service from home from home was excellent to they also arrange the ferry crossing too many thanks
Very disappointed with this chalet for the price,my son had one on the same site very modern.deluxe compared to ours a £100 cheaper.nothing matching cups cutlery glasses .bath so old badly stained, no hair dryer cobwebs. Infested with ants which they did respond to .don't go for no 67.
This was the second year we’ve rented Norwood House, purely for its location - we have family who live just up the road. The house itself is well maintained although, as last year, I spotted a few cobwebs here and there, suggesting the cleaning could be a little more thorough. After a couple of days we had cause to raise an issue with the owners and were impressed when somebody arrived to address this within a couple of hours of our reporting it. The main downside of the location is the lack of WiFi signal - we struggled with phones, the internet and even the TV. No more was this evident than ...more
The property should not be advertised with a parking space, as it is not suitable for purpose. It is inaccessible, due to its slightly hilly position on the side of a very narrow lane and if by luck you were able to get onto it you would not be able to open your car doors. Luckily landlord agreed to cover parking charges in council car park which is a few metres away. The garden is also not as described in the advert, it is overgrown, and on our arrival was strewn with plastic rubbish, broken glass and metal. A health hazard for a 7 year old child. The management company did however organis...more
Old fashioned, small place, good for a week. Fantastic location, loads to do. Full review on trip ad.
To be honest it was a bit of a shock when we arrived. It looks like a run down Butlins site.. Chalet was ok but found a few issues as we went along. Kitchen units were uneven and some doors were loose. Fridge door jammed on floor, not level. Door to Main bedroom kept jumping off runner. Ample cutlery and plates etc. Mattress on bunk bed, very lumpy, said my Daughter. Location very good , cant beat cliff views. Walk to shops ok, needed that anyway. Overall 7/10..
