We have had a fantastic week at Highlands. We booked Apartments 2, 3 and 4 and they were all excellent with the bonus of having our own private entrance door for all three. The apartments were clean with everything you could need for your stay. Excellent location for Shanklin and the beach. View of the beach from Apartment 4 was amazing. I would definitely book again and would recommend these apartments if staying with friends or family.
We stayed in the property first as a group of friends prior to my wedding, and then in the final week for my honeymoon. It could not have been better - the location was great, with Shanklin easily accessible, ample parking and a bus stop close by. The house felt brand new and could not have been cleaner - bedrooms, bathrooms and the kitchen had everything we could possibly have wanted. We are also very thankful to the owners for the welcome card and milk in the fridge, as well as the quick and friendly service to replace bedding and towels. The only suggestions I would have are that there w...more
We stayed here a few weeks ago, liked it so much, we booked another week. It was an ideal location for us, right in the heart of Cowes. The view from the balcony across the Solent was superb! The accommodation was excellent with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. Highly recommended.
I had a wonderful family time in the Boat House. Quiet place within the High Street. Rooftop views of the sea, you cannot fault this place. Sleeps nine so we did not struggle with extra sleeping space, Facilities and utensils are all super. A single parking space would do for the Boat House but then you very rarely get those especially if your are on the High Street. I will very definitely come again very soon.
We stayed as a family of 5; 4 adults and one child. The house was large, airy, and beautifully furnished. The kitchen was especially impressive; we cooked several full meals there. There is a bus stop right across the street; we got passes and rode to several locations on the Isle of Wight. It was also an easy walk to the beach and the High Street. Everything about the booking process worked well with the exception that the Trip Advisor website stated the house had WiFi and the Home Away that there was a hotspot. Neither were true and when we called to inquire we were told to use WiFi at the ...more
Brilliant place to stay. So much space. Everything you could possibly need. Excellent location. Terrific value. Well equipped kitchen.
This was a family holiday with our daughter, son-in-law, and four year old grandaughter. We found Pine Ridge with not too much difficulty though the road closure near Ventnor threw us a little. Once we realised we needed to approach via the village of Niton all was well. The house was just as we imagined and suited us perfectly. The family bedroom was just right as the four year old had mummy and daddy close at hand so was very happy - she even had a choice of two beds! Everything was nice and clean and as advertised so no complaints. Blackgang Chine was just a short drive away and a fam...more
I have stayed in Shanklin Manor many times now and I will 100% definatley be staying here again when I come and visit the Isle Of Wight again! It is an amazing property, kept very clean and tidy, lots of space, comfy beds you name it. Even only a short walk from Shanklin old village and the seafront. Me and my partner love it here and its our favourite holiday destination. We will definatley be staying again.
This was our Third visit to Solent View, and as always just super, so relaxing, peaceful and a real pleasure to stay at Solent View
This is our 4th visit to Trelawny. The house retains all of it's good points but has also improved over the years (eg new coffee machine, better tv, new mattresses etc). The view is superb and the location perfect for Ventnor and Bonchurch. Car Parking is a bonus though can be a little tight depending on the courtesy of others. We asked for a change of bedding and towels mid-way through a 2 week stay and this was achieved efficiently. A minor problem with the hot water system was resolved on the same day. The booking process was simple and responsive. We enjoyed days out on the Island (recomm...more
As always Fernwood lives up to very high standards and after many years of using the cottage it never diminishes. It is truly a home from home.
We thought this chalet was excellent, good decor, plenty of equipment in the kitchen, lots of toys and games for the children to play with, just a generally very nice, pleasant chalet, well thought through with families in mind.
This is our 3rd visit to this apartment and can't fault it with regard to cleanliness, comfort, facilities and location. Ideal for a disabled person as all ground floor but being on a hill has great views. It's very peaceful and quiet. Only downside is the complicated TV/ AV controls after 3 visits it's still difficult to work out!
Excellent stayer again at The Willows and Mr Barton the farmer and his visiting family are so helpful and friendly. Perfect base for us to visit family on the island with Compton bay for surfing and boarding just minutes away. Easy access to Newport too. Beautiful surroundings with animals on the farm. Very little light pollution if you like to see the stars or just enjoy a glass of wine sat outside of an evening. Definitely a place to return to year after year for us
I very highly rate this beautifully appointed place. The owners are great - unobtrusive but friendly and efficient and nothing is too much trouble.
My husband brother and myself stayed at the red cedars I-O-W, it was like home from home beautifully decorated and stylish we all loved it there so peaceful too everything you needed was there, a very pretty garden with lovely flowers and seating outside which was a bonus to us as the weather was gorgeous the first two days for late September, very comfortable stay and lovely welcome pack which we thought was very kind gesture. I sent email to owner to tell her how much we enjoyed our stay she sent me a reply which was lovely, everything about the red cedars appeal to us all, and would highly r...more
Whole booking process was very efficient, though I was slightly nervous before arriving as the email communications had all been very short and lacking in warmth. This was clearly just an efficient and straight to the point owner. Apartment was easy to find, even though it is almost hidden from view at street level - and requires a good shove to open the alley door! Rooms were as displayed in photographs, with very comfy beds, lovely toiletries, plenty of towels and a lot of detailed information about our stay, the island, procedures, etc. Some nice touches were also provided - beverage ...more
exactly what you expect from home to home.Clean, comfortable, somewhere nice to come back to if,as is normal, the weather is changeable. As they say on the label... home from home.
We were last minute bookings and everything was processed very professionly ....very comfortable and clean we would recomend to our friends and family....we would stay at furlongs again Thank you Julie
This was our second stay here. "We" are a group of mature men (and one lady this year) who enjoy the "Beer and Buses" weekend on the island, and the house is sited conveniently close to the bus museum. The bedrooms can't be faulted, although I haven't tried all the beds! The shower and bathrooms are good, but inevitably with a house of this capacity, there will be some waits for their use in the mornings. The kitchen/diner is quite "cosy" when catering for a houseful, and my only wish would be for more room there. But one must compromise as the rest of the house is excellent. Follo...more
We had a wonderful week in this beautiful house overlooking seas and hills. Dex and Mandy were very welcoming and helpful - we couldn't have asked for more. The views from the house were a real treat and evenings spent watching the fading light over the sea and the stunning skies formed some of the best memories of this holiday. Highly recommend Corydon.
The house is lovely and generally we were very happy. However, there are a couple of issues that marred our stay somewhat. Firstly, the dishwasher did not work properly as it did not clean the dishes well at all Secondly, the WiFi issue was very annoying. Having to pay on top of the amount we had already laid out for the holiday was very annoying and was not the case last year. When we did get it - it could not handle six items being connected at once and stopped working at least once a day. Thirdly, there were not enough mugs for 8 adults - nevermind a house full of adults. Fourthly, the ...more
This was our fourth holiday on the Island using Trinity View as our base, and we are always pleased to know that the rent we pay for our holiday benefits such a worthwhile charity. As always, the house suited us all very well - myself, husband, three daughters and their husbands and children all love staying together in Trinity View. The house is sunny and light and very spacious; the bedrooms are all en-suite which is brilliant; the kitchen is huge with plenty of fridge and freezer space and lots of worktop; the dining tables are big enough for us all to sit down to eat together and there is ...more
This is our second time staying at accommodation with Home from Home Holidays and it was just as great as the first time. Everyone at Home from Home is really helpful - also with booking the ferry which takes a weight off our mind. Accommodation is always well presented and clean and we would certainly recommend this accommodation and Home from Homes to anyone looking to stay on the Isle of Wight. :)
Everything concerning our chalet was 99% fine. Only problem we encountered was after we arrived at the chalet having bought some provisions at Tesco first, including several bags of frozen food, we found out the fridge was just that... a larder fridge with no ice compartment! We had to bin our frozen goods. We have stayed in various chalets on this site over the years and each chalet up to this point had a fridge with a small ice compartment at the top. We therefore presumed Downs View would be the same. However, this was our only bugbear.... everything else was fine.
This house is like a tardis! It looks so small on the outside yet somehow it fits in 2 reception rooms, 3 bedrooms, a conservatory, a large bathroom, toilet and kitchen! The house is beautifully decorated with photos, pictures and ornaments so it really feels like staying at a friends house. There are DVDs, games, books and plenty of local information The beds are comfy and there is ample storage for clothes. The upstairs twin bedroom feels like a teenager's dream, the stairs are slightly steep up to it, so might not be suitable for very young children or people with mobility issues. The liv...more
We really enjoyed staying in Ventnor and St. Catherine's view provided a very quiet, well situated cottage for us to explore the island. However, there were some issues. The front door was very difficult to lock from the outside and the back door was completely stuck and couldn't be opened at all without fear of damage. It was clear to us the the rubbish bins hadn't been taken round for collection for a while, leaving them full to the brim and very smelly. The light switches in the lounge and the kitchen were situated across the rooms so that you had to walk to them in the dark in order to...more
We stayed at Church house for a week with 2 adults and 2 children and their granny and found the accommodation to be clean and very nice and spacious for our needs -- with the all-important wifi for some teenage members of our party. Chale is a nice village, with good food, drink and views at the Wight Mouse so close by and a handy village grocery a short drive away. West Wight is our favourite part of the island as we like the rural 'back of Wight' the best. The house is close to the coastal Military Road but the windows are modern and well insulated so you aren't disturbed by traffic noise. ...more
Two families holidaying together plenary of space with all the mod cons you could ask for very comfy spacious rooms. Only thing I would say is single quilts on single beds is a bit of a no no these days, ok for small kids but if you've got adults in single beds then not so good, especially when it's a little cold at night as our summer nights can be. And bath mat in main bathroom. But other than that would definitely be a returning customer. 8/10
Near to shanklin towncenter near to the Beach. Good Pubs arround. Everything in the Appartement what you need. In one word, lovely. :)
lovely clean and tidy. Very homely gardens kept well. Has every thing you need. Thank you for a lovely holiday.
Was very pleased with our stay at osbourne heights, the property was a home from home. Lovely large kitchen handy conservatory and comfortable room and bedrooms. The large screen tv was excellent as was the on suite An handy downstairs toilet. The property is also in a great location. The house was very clean my only disappointment was the garden. It looked like the grass had not been cut for months. Although this did not spoil our stay it seems a shame that such a lovely property was let down by the lack of tlc outside. Could do with mayb slabbin as only sml to make it maintenance free. Sayin...more
The sea view was lovely, but the apartment was average. Very old fashioned inside, and small. I also had no phone signal at all, so wifi would have been useful. Getting the tv to work was also hit and miss. If you're just looking for somewhere to lay your head at night, then it's fine.
On arrival the property looked ok but as we progressed through the week it wasn't so good. Second fridge was not clean and unfit to use. Grill pan was greasy. Televisions didn't work properly and no instructions left. On suite toilet was very dirty needed some bleach. On suite shower water did not go away it filled up. Needed unblocking. Top room sink taps loose. Both barbecues not fit to use just dirty. The house was well provided for everthing we needed. Back outside door not secure. Only one parking space for EIGHT people is ridiculous other arrangements should...more
Well equipped cottage in a beautiful location. Local pub is very friendly. The cottage is quaint and has everything you need but wi Fi is none existent and 4g is hit and miss. Fine for some but not if you need accurate weather reports!! Shame about the condition of the back patio and garden. Very rundown and dirty. Trash left out from previous guests and not told when bin men were coming so had to live with it all week. It would have been nice to have had some logs included to use on the fire but there wasnt and we could have done with them!! Overall a nice place to stay but needs some love. ...more
Disappointing. More cramped for five – two adults and three children – than we expected (“no different from specs on website” said the agent in response to our call on arrival), smelt damp until we'd had windows open for a few hours (“haven't heard that before”), no fridge/freezer or dishwasher in spite of named electrical sockets (“it's 3-star not 4-star”), a below-worktop fridge that had seen better days (“we'll talk to the owner”), and a 26-inch CRT TV from the 1990s that was perhaps intended to enhance the island's retro appeal more than make the Olympics watchable in the evenings (“Ha! Ha...more
The chalet was okay, just a few things had small issues, the cooker and fridge were both uneven which meant having to double check each time the fridge door was closed that it had actually closed, and cooker is uneven so things tended to slide to the right. The bathroom was beautifully refurbished, but needs a loo roll holder!. The carpet in the lounge area was a bit of a health and safety issue as we all tripped over it several times, and the covers over the suite were a pain as they moved all the time, would be better to have fitted ones. Could benefit from a few games, pack of cards etc. ...more
We had a very enjoyable break at Pembroke Villas, and the location was excellent. Everything we needed in Shanklin was within easy walking reach, with good pubs, restaurants and also the theatre. The locals were very friendly, and were made to feel very welcome. We had a few fairly chilly days, but the central heating made the place warm up fairly quickly when we needed it. Minor criticisms - we couldn't find any bleach to keep the WCs clean, and there was no food recycling bags or caddy.
A good place for a short break. Small, but ideal because we used it as the base for our walking. The gas grill reminded us that grilled toast beats toast from electric toasters! The heating was good. The view is superb.
A good situation and generally the site has potential and seems to have some good properties. It was easy for children to play outside and access the cliff path. Accommodation was small and very basic. Comfortable sofa and bedrooms were adequate although cupboard in the small bedroom was difficult to use. Plenty of cupboard space in kitchen - probably too much, one less lower cupboard would give more room in the sitting area. Not exactly as advertised on website; no dishwasher or DVD. There was nowhere to hang coats which was difficult for us as it rained a lot. Electric shower needs care...more
The title says it all, very basic accommodation fit for purpose but no home from home comforts. Needs upgrading a and could be very good, a welcome pack with info etc should have been included which would eliminate unanswered questions!
