We celebrated my Mum's 85th birthday. Perfect location and great value with use of the gym and pool. A beautiful house to stay in, surrounded by nature.
A perfect house and location for a family get away. Super close to great days out and facilities on Silverlake are first rate. Perfect for families, couples, friends to get together and spend quality time together.
The property was as advertised and was in good condition and has nice views over the lake. There was a wide range of cooking utensils and the kitchen oven/dishwasher worked well. Freezer space was limited so might be an issue for longer stays. The pool/gym are for owners only up to 10.00am which was not clear on signing up and if going over the Xmas period the opening hours are restricted.
Super place, with so much to do the children loved every minute. The cottage was perfect, really lovely, warm, comfortable and clean. It would just have been nice to have had clean lanyards for the spa passes! The cottage was well equipped for children with night lights, step for brushing teeth in the bathroom, toys and a good selection of D.V.D’s. It would be good if habitat escapes could provide more bike parking logs about as there weren’t many. Overall our family has a truly super week and loved the chickens, cows and ponies. The pool was fantastic and we swam every day even in October co...more
We stayed in Ria Formosa for 5 days end of October. The whole family including grandparents and our three kids aged 2, 4 and 7 had such a wonderful time. We were blown away by the contemporary decoration, the big open-space and the wonderful lake views. Kids loved jumping on the trampoline, playing golf on the amazing roof top and playing on the provided Xbox. Ria Formosa is one of the latest developments close to the entrance and 5-min from the swimming pool and restaurant. The house is about 200m away from a construction site of new houses, the noise level was minimal and did not disturb us....more
We were really looking forward to our stay at maple house and it didn’t disappoint! We were so lucky with the weather and managed to enjoy paddle boarding on the lake as well as relaxing next to the pool followed by a bottle of bubbles on the roof terrace at the spa! If you are thinking of a place to stay where you can relax and also enjoy activities on the water then book Maple House! You won’t be disappointed.
The house is very big and comfortable to leave, we had very nice time for a week, I will definitely stay at the Cotswold Manor again. It’s worth with the money that we paid. Highly recommended by all of us, I wish I can buy it.
It was our first time at Silverlake, coming across the house via another holiday website. Our property was immaculate and stocked with everything we needed. Silverlake was very impressive - beautiful setting, beautiful houses, excellent facilities, great pool for the kids and loved the roof top bar. Felt like we were self-catering in a posh hotel. Will highly recommend to friends.
i am sure we will return as we really enjoyed it. Just a pity we could not access all facilities such as spa, tennis racquets because of pandemic.
We had a lovely few days in the Lake Lodge. The children loved the pool and the toys provided in the lodge were great when the weather wasn’t so good. The quality of the property was excellent and we felt very comfortable there. The hot tub on the deck was really relaxing in the evenings when the children were asleep. We will definitely be back.
The reason our review is not all excellent relates to the double room. This room had a quilt cover that we think had fake tan on it but looked slightly grubby . The bed also squeaked on the side nearest the window and so we moved to the twin room instead. Except for that, the house was superb and facilities were really good. We really enjoyed being in the area and have stayed with habitat escapes before.
A great place to stay, maintained to a high standard with every detail taken care of and modern appliances Many thanks!
It was our 6th visit to Lower Mill Estate however our first stay at 91 Howells Mere and it was the best one yet. A well equipped, homely property with some lovely little touches. Great location and on our favourite lake !
We had a perfect stay at Driftwood (BV9) over the new year, with three generations enjoying all that was to offer both within Silverlake (heated outdoor pool, ponies, spending time playing games in the yurt, lovely walks in and around the estate) and nearby (Dorchester, Jurassic coast, Tank museum, even got to the panto at Bournemouth!) and coming home each night to a warm, cosy, modern house was a real pleasure for all. Thanks so much.
We rented this house out with another one for my 30th birthday celebrations. It was a fantastic house, beautifully decorated and had all of the amenities you would need for a weekend away! The area is beautiful and the activities available at the resort are also great! Thanks for a great stay!
Relaxing break. Lovely and quiet onsite so when I heard they were building 800 more houses on site with extra pools / spas over the next 10 years I was very disappointed. Thought I had found the perfect spot! Anyway no complaints other than I felt it was a few hundred pounds overpriced for the week and there was no green expanse where the kids could go play cricket etc. House was beautiful with everything provided .
Such a lovely house and location. Stayed here for 2 consecutive years with the same friends and have built up such great memories together. We self cater and everything is here that we need and the facilities on site mean we can just relax and stay local for a fab catch up weekend with life long friends.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Mallards. This was our second visit to Lower Mill Estate. We really enjoy the facilities there and the area is beautiful. The Mallards was an extremely well maintained house and contained everything we needed. Plenty of storage in all bedrooms. Lovely sheets and towels provided. Shower in family bathroom is fantastic - all bathrooms are high quality. It was a perfect size space for our family of 4. Kitchen is on the smaller size but well stocked with everything we needed and we cooked in there for 2 nights of our stay. We prefer the Mill Village area (which th...more
The summer house was the perfect setting for 8 of us (6 adults and 2 children) to share an early family Christmas together. The peaceful setting was the perfect place to relax and the property itself was well equipped for cooking family meals and sharing time together around the table playing games. The property is decorated and furnished to a very high standard, we couldn’t believe where we’d walked into. we all thoroughly enjoyed it!
We booked both Siskin House and Yellowhammer for a 2 night weekend stay, with 14 of us getting together for an extended family meetup. These 2 properties were perfect for the occasion and we were easily able to get the 14 of us into Siskin house for socialising and meals together. Both properties were very well equipped and extremely comfortable, warm and welcoming, which helped to make the weekend relaxing. The location, behind secure gates, meant that we didn't have lots of traffic and people coming past. It was nice and tucked away. While we were there we made use of the swimming pools (...more
We came here for my grandmas 80th birthday and had an amazing weekend! Lower Mill Estate is a great place for a long weekend away. We enjoyed walking around the area and there is lots to do for children. The view of the lake is beautiful and the house was in great condition. We particularly liked that there were more than enough bathrooms for all of us. The rooms were generally in good condition although the smaller children's room didn't feel as nice as the others. It was a shame that netflix wasn't working on the TV which the technician said was due to the internet speed. We also had a sma...more
A really lovely short mini-break. What strikes you most about Silverlake is the tranquillity, it is so peaceful and calm a real 'get away from it all' retreat. Sunbird Cottage was very comfortable and well equipped with everything you need for a self catering break. We stayed October half term and the weather was awful but it didn't stop us having a great time. We used the outdoor pool on both days, it was great swimming outside in the rain! We rode the bikes that are provided on a dry morning into the woods where there is a great play area for the children. We were a family of 5 who thor...more
The house was all if not more than we expected. Comfortable, cosy and warm. All utilities very well explained. We had a wonderful three days. The facilities on site are very good too. Only problem was not enough dining chairs for 10/11 people. We will be back.
Great place to stay and highly recommended .... good location, clean and modern apartment with a fab swimming pool .... but I think they are in danger of not knowing when to stop building, as much more and the estate will lose its exclusive feeling.
Overall we had a wonderful time over Christmas and we would definitely consider coming back to the area. The only thing was a niggle more than anything was that some of the chairs weren't very study and collapse and we had challenges with the wifi through out the house. Otherwise the team were very helpful and supportive.
We stayed between Christmas and New Year and had a lovely time. Just be aware that the property is on the top floor with no lift so you will have to take things up the stairs. Really well presented and very comfy, thank you.
The location and property are beautiful. We loved the water front views and the facilities available. The property can house 8 people, the boiler that supplies the property isn't big enough to maintain hot water for all of them. We had 3 of our party of 6 shower to then find the boiler wasn't able to supply any more hot water without an hours delay for the next 3 showering. Not ideal when you've booked a property with 3 bathrooms to avoid delays in the morning. Had lunch twice at the restaurant Ballihoo, lovely staff however despite being told about an allergy, failed to make sure that our f...more
We had an enjoyable stay for a family celebration. Lower Mill Estate is lovely with very diverse recreation opportunities. Good things : wildlife, somerford lagoon canoeing, swimming pool, cycling and walking. Less good things : late cleaning on arrival, shabby furnishings in main living area, poor kitchen layout, lack of lake view from ground floor, barely value for money at the price. The interface between cars and pedestrians is crowded and poor - it seemed even dangerous at times.
A lovely short break over the February half term. Despite bad weather, there was plenty to occupy us and the kids had a great time. Liked the new cafe. Very comfy beds, lovely view.
Lovely quiet retreat overlooking the lake Well equipped kitchen Stayed with family who were in the house opposite for new year Amazing break
A fantastic weekend had by all. The house was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It was bigger than we anticipated. The photos don't do it justice! We had everything we needed and plenty of space for 10 of us. Gorgeous views, cosy and warm. We will defintely return!
It was our fourth stay in this property. Stunning views, perfect for a sociable stay with friends/family. We love the kitchen/dining/lounge where everyone can hang out together and do their own thing at the same time. Light a fire, kick back and relax. The flexibility of the bedrooms is good for a group with two twin rooms as well as the doubles.
We absolutely loved the Lower Mill Estate, the accommodation was beautiful and so clean. The view across the lake was amazing to wake up to in the morning. We understand this was not your fault, however, we were extremely disappointed that we couldn’t use any of the facilities on our stay as we originally had booked the spa and treatments and planned boat and bike rides. We would love to come again and be able to have the full experience but we did absolutely love staying here and the staff were very helpful.
Exceptionally clean, nicely decorated ground floor apartment. Well equipped kitchen. High quality utensils. Lovely view of the lake. Quiet, peaceful surroundings. Ample parking nearby. Walking distance from spa, restaurant, shop. Bunk bed room had no wardrobe, would say only suitable for young children. Main bathroom only had hand-held shower, no overhead. But ensuite in main bedroom had both. Difficult to find within estate, as signpost said something like only Clearwater apartments 70-77 ahead. But actually Howell's Mere as well. Would be useful if apartment number and location i....more
A great place for a family Christmas break, make sure you book the restaurant in advance! Swimming pools great for kids and adult only time was very relaxing.
Had a memorable Christmas here. A great entertaining house that suited our needs. Loved the snug for the kids to watch movies in. The swimming pool was great and had a lovely pedicure at the spa. I'm sure we'll be back again to LME!
Had a lovely stay in Reed Warbler. Very clean and property in excellent condition. Well equipped kitchen. Comfortable bedrooms.
We stayed at yellowhammer during an uncertain period due to Coronavirus. All facilities were closed but we made the bast of a bad situation. Being lakeside was wonderful, the property itself was just what we needed and so lovely to be able to undertake beautiful walks safely. Thankyou for allowing us to stay - we will definitely return to use the spa/pool/restaurants when safe to do so.
A gathering of three generations for a special birthday, there was plenty of space for everyone and the kitchen was well equipped. The house was warm and comfortable, and the housekeeping staff had prepared it well. The younger ones thoroughly enjoyed the Spa pool and the country walks were interesting and exciting in the aftermath of Ciara and Dennis. The whole site was well maintained and safe. A great place to stay!
The property is in a stunning location and layout is excellent. The interior decoration needs refreshing - new painting in all of the bathrooms for example. The property was also in need of a deep clean - under sofas had dust balls and likewise in some of the shelves. The kitchen equipment lacked a few essentials - such as a measuring jug and lemon squeezer, so would suggest this needs reviewing. Jo
We spent another great week at Lower Mill over half-term. This time we stayed at Reid Villa which is a lovely, newly refurbished property in a small private gated area on the estate. Beautifully appointed, comfortable and very well equipped. A highly recommended property.
Apartment is well equipped and ideal for a family. Have stayed here before and the apartment has just had new carpets throughout.
Myself and friends had a wonderful, relaxing weekend break in Barn Owls. The property is beautiful and has everything you need.
Wow what a place. The house was beautiful set over 3 floors with 3 large doubles and a twin. The property was lovely and warm on entry and clean. The information provided at the property about the amenities, Lower mill Estate and local area was extensive. The hot tub was the icing on the cake. Overall excellent experience and would highly recommend. Bridgette from Habitat was very attentive. Thank you
Amazing house, in a fab location with absolutely everything you need for a weekend away with friends and family. Looking forward to booking another stay!
We had a relaxing stay, helped by good wintery weather, cold and clear skies with recent flooding in surrounding fields. Our house was as pictured, although we were disappointed that one bed was shown as two singles but was in fact one double bed. This wasn't appropriate for our family. Our ensuite shower was clean but the grouting needed a good scrub. The house was in a lovely position on the lake and it was easy to walk around the site. We loved the wildlife. Arriving in the dark, we did struggle to locate the house because it is tucked completely out of sight behind four garages. We would h...more
Tischler House is an absolutely fantastic house set on the edge of Somerford lagoon with direct access to the water. The property also has it's own swimming pool. The view across the lagoon from the house and garden is great, and would be especially spectacular when migrating birds are on the move in the autumn. The house was very tidy and clean when we arrived and well appointed with modern kitchen and bathrooms. Having the private pool was great, but the pool cover could do with replacing to make it a bit easier to cover the pool at night. Really enjoyed the week, would visit again.
Really fabulous weekend and lovely apartment with views over the lake. Children especially loved their time there, with close proximity to the spa, tennis courts, etc...
Fantastic location with beautiful surroundings and great views. Onsite facilities great with lovely restaurant and swimming pool/spa. Great for the whole family. Property was clean and nicely decorated with everything you could need. We will be back!
Excellent quality accommodation in an idyllic setting with all the amenities you could want and need. The perfect place to relax and re-charge. Highly recommended.
Spent nice couple of days at Lower Mill Estate. Weren't lucky with weather so couldn't be outside a lot of the time, but managed to get a good sense of the place. Apartment suited us fine, a bit run down with a slightly funny smell. Estate has lots of nice facilities, but felt the houses were too tightly packed together which somewhat impacted on natural beauty of place. Lacked a certain character, but I guess the place is still in development phase so may change over the next few years. I can see the place being lovely when the weather is good and can do more water activities.
Nice spacious property for 2 families to share, both with young children. We liked the layout that all the bedrooms were on the same floor. We were a bit over ambitious on what to cook in a kitchen we weren't familiar with - the extraction fan was not the strongest to cope with frying very well so we did stink the place out a few times!! Otherwise, a very relaxing stay and we enjoyed using the on site gym and pool.
Lovely location, great base for exploring, although we stayed onsite for the whole stay. Comfortable house with lovely facilities at the Spa. Swimming in the outside pool on a crisp Decembers day was incredible!
Generally well equipped but they need to provide bigger, and more, chopping/bread boards. We found it very annoying that the light in the en suite bathroom in the master bedroom came on automatically on entry. We managed to turn off the extractor but couldn’t work out how to deactivate the light. We enjoyed staying there and a good house for several families.
We stayed for 2 nights in January there was 8 adults and 3 children. More than enough space, large living and dining area and the noise was all kept in that room during the evenings so the children slept soundly upstairs! Great facilities for young children, large play area and astro turf within 2 mins walk. Swimming pool was great and the restaurant did good food. We will definitely be going back!
Two families, 4 adults 4 children, had a great time at well-equipped Reflections. The master bed is a little over 5ft and the other two doubles are both 5ft - I think the grown-ups would want larger beds to be sure of returning. But other than that everything was great.
A lovely relaxing few days away with family. The accommodation was lovely-still all seemed very new. Particularly liked the fact our two houses were joined together in the middle by the playroom. Loved the variety of buildings when we walked around. The site and facilities are good, although it felt a bit like we were too early to enjoy the full benefits of what will eventually be offered as the site is still being built on and developed (you aren’t disturbed at all by the building work), also no water sports because of the time of year (we knew this when booking). The pool was lovely...more
A perfect base to visit the Cotswolds. Lower Mill Estate is immaculate and more than catered for our needs The accommodation was perfect for all of us with wonderful views over the lake. Everything we needed was at our disposal
The house is in a beautiful location and nicely done up but seemed to lack a few common sense things. When we arrived the hob wasn't working, we had some hungry little ones so we called the main office but they couldn't sort it as it was the evening. To their credit they went out the next day to get a portable hob, so we had something to use for the weekend (slightly awkward) but the hob should have been checked before hand. The kitchen looked good but there wasn't a tea pot, scissors or ice tray and a lack of glasses which was shame. We found that there was no where to put toilet roll or hand...more
Cosy accomodation. Limited outside seating which was a shame in such nice weather. Barbecue was unusable as so dirty and 2 saunas out of action.. Location great especially for the Cotswold triathlon at lake opposite.
A very comfortable stay for our large family. The property was very well equipped. There is easy access to lovely walks along the Thames Path and we enjoyed the outdoor swimming pool at the Spa.
We squeezed 8 adults and 7 kids into the house for christmas get together. We were a bit apprehensive before going that there would be enough space but with the size of rooms and number bathrooms were pleasantly relieved. Location is good central position for families coming from east/west/south of the country, facilities on the estate are excellent and would think we would return to the estate again.
Eight of us stayed at BV14 for October half term and had a great time. The property had ample space for four adults and four children and the TV room was a god send when the kids (and adults) needed some downtime. Facilities on site including The Hurricane Spa, Bikes and Walks were fab and ensured we returned to the daily grind refreshed!
The house was lovely, very well equipped and ideal for the dog with the small enclosed garden. Location of house close to Spa, pool and activity hub but also close to huge metal storage building (painted with Gruffalo on) and building on next phase started at 8am each morning. Facilities were great - we had the pool to ourselves most times we visited (everyday). Had lovely sandwiches for lunch in the bar. Hopefully once more properties are occupied the bar will extend menu. Silverlake was close to lots of points of interest / things to do within 20 mins drive.
House is very nice and equipped well. Nice layout with the living areas up high to elevate the lovely view. Only down fall is the toilet being on the ground floor, especially if you are sleeping up on the 2nd floor.
House clean and very comfortable. Good facilities. Private views of the lake from the house . Peaceful, lovely to see several herons. Great weekend
4 adults,4 children staying for halfterm.Wonderful house, spacious with plenty of room to spread out especially fond of roof terrace.Excellent standard throughout with great ensuites and kitchen amenities.Only couple of points to mention as considering the quality throughout, the master bedroom bed was not comfortable at all as myself and wife had bad backs after only one night, and the extractor caught four of us out as we hit our heads. Otherwise had a great few days enjoying and exploring the walking/cycling trails on the estate and the two swimming pools and other activities big his with t...more
The site and facilities are fantastic. The property was beautifully clean and freshly furnished. However, we found that the living space really let it down. There was only seating for two in the lounge and we found the sofa and dining chairs very uncomfortable meaning there was nowhere comfortable to relax. The master bedroom and bathroom were lovely and quite spacious! There is a great sized fridge freezer but limited cupboard space for storing food, also lacking some kitchen equipment like oven gloves and scales. The other thing to note is that there is no washing machine and nowhere to dry ...more
No hot water or working oven on arrival but both were fixed fairly quickly. Sadly there was no hot water in the spa / pool showers for the weekend we were there. The house is small and perfectly fine but starting to look a bit dated. Parking was terrible - always someone else in our spot and in a very wet weekend that was annoying.
We really enjoyed our stay at Bee Cottage. The location and facilities were brilliant. Only downsides were the wifi was awful, ended up hotspotting from our mobiles to use laptops and the cottage was a little dated. Nonetheless we would stay on the estate again and would recommend it to friends.
