My daughter and I stayed in Pippin cottage for a long photography weekend, we had a great time, learning new techniques, and made some new friends with others on the course.
Pippin cottage was lovely, well furnished, clean and inviting, we were a little cold on arrival and the heating was slow to catch up.
The do it yourself breakfast was great, croissants and pain au chocolate, great jam - generous for the three of us in the cottage. Being able to buy bacon, eggs, juice on site , home grown and made was lovely.

Stayed for 4 nights with my husband who was there to do a photography course. Owner Ruud was very helpful with my booking S this was a surprise Christmas gift for my husband. Bramley cottage is attached to the main farmhouse, and it was very light and airy. It had a wonderful inglenook fireplace with an electric fire which looked like a log burner. Large kitchen with all you could need plus your own washing machine if you are on a longer stay.
The bedroom was enormous , and had space for another small bed if required. Th...more
4 of us booked Quarenden and Damson interconnected for a writing weekend in January. We wanted the extra space to spread out and write and to have a room each. The rooms were wonderfully warm, and the peaceful out-of-season environment was perfect for walking, reflecting and writing. We had a delicious curry delivered free of charge from Ottery on the Saturday night. Could have stayed happily for a month and will definitely do this again.
A very enjoyable stay. Our children really enjoyed all the facilities in the ground. Especially the log/ rope bridge and the fantastic climbing frame. They spent lots of time watching the goats playing too. Great countryside for walking too.
we enjoyed our short stay at Damson. We would have loved to be able to have the cottage next door which opens up to a bigger cottage but unfortunately it was booked up. The farm was perfect for our children to run around - there are lots of toys and DVDs for them to borrow - my son especially loved riding around the farm and exploring on one of the bikes. It is a beautiful place to stay - so quiet and peaceful. Damson was quite compact but perfect for what we needed and is beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you could need. The bathroom in particular is stunning. Thank you...more
